"Why don't we leave the tour of the city for another day?" Ibiki suggested as he deepened the kiss. Yua smirked and gently bit his lip.
"We do have a lot of catching up to do." She mused as she looked up at him. Ibiki growled and had her back against the wall. "Ibiki." She called his name, taking his gaze off her breasts and back onto her face. "I have a king-sized bed we could make us of." She hinted and Ibiki smirked, shaking his head.
"Why not the sofa? It's closer." He teased her as he kisses down her neck. Yua moaned and slipped her hand down his trousers. He groaned softly as he felt her hand wrap around him, tugging gently. "Not yet." He whispered in her ear, nipping at it as he took her hand away. She teased him by trying to snake her hand down between them, but Ibiki caught it and held her wrists in one hand, above her head.
"Don't tempt me to tie you up Yua." He growled. "I can barely control myself now." He added, pressing his body against hers, his need pressing into her.
"Maybe I want you to lose control." She whispered in his ear. "Maybe I want you to make me yours in whatever way you want." She added, kissing down his neck. Ibiki smirked and picked her up over his shoulder.
"Then we best make use of your bed." He told her, making her giggle.
He carried her up the stairs and found the bed in the only room which had the door left open. He smirked and threw her down on the bed, earning a squeak of surprise from her. He quickly looked around for anything he could use against her. He was rather pleased to see a few colourful scarfs laying about, most likely they were used as a shield whenever the winds got into the city. Yua watched him carefully, trying to work out what he was up to. "Close your eyes." He told her.
They kissed as bliss took over them both.
Ibiki held her to his chest as they lay on their sides, facing each other. He swore to never let her go again. He would protect her and give her the life she deserved.
A knock at Yua's front door pulled Ibiki from the brink of sleep while Yua had gone fallen asleep. He dressed quickly, careful not to wake Yua. He answered the door to see Gaara.
"Where's Sumire-chan?" He asked, his arms folded over his chest.
"Resting, in bed." Ibiki told him carefully. Gaara raised what Ibiki thought would have been an eyebrow.
"Sumire-chan doesn't take naps during the day like Suna citizens would normally." Gaara stated plainly. "Why would she need to rest?" He then questioned.
"Because myself and Sumire where getting reacquainted." Ibiki spoke loosely. Gaara understand, he didn't let it show.
"Tell Sumire, she owes Kankuro an apology."
"Is that all?" Ibiki asked, confused as to why that would warrant a face to face visit rather than a phone call.
"Break her heart this time Morino and you will have a city to answer to. She told you the truth and you lied about who you were. If it were me, I would never trust you again."
"But it isn't you." Ibiki clapped back.
"Watch it Morino. Sumire is dear to us all. You will be held to a higher standard, don't let her down." Gaara growled as he stepped forward.
"What is she to you?" Ibiki snapped at him. He didn't like his motives being questioned.
"The woman who saved my son and many other child of Suna. She stepped in front of Orochimaru as he aimed a rocket launcher at the city orphanage. She disobeyed Orochimaru and caused many of his men to step down and join us. Her action alone may have won the war. Many of the children here will see her as a mother, someone to look up to. If you break her heart, you risk destroying their hearts too." Gaara explained. Now it all made sense. They took her in because she helped save them all. She used her power to save them and now they were using theirs to keep her safe.
"I understand Gaara-sama. Sumire is safe with me…" A cry startled both men and they ran up to Sumire. Gaara sighed as Ibiki looked confused and pulled the covers to protect her modesty.
"Night terrors." Gaara told him. "She has had them since she came here. We have all done our best to calm them. Maybe this is a task for you." He then added before walking out of the room.
Ibiki listened closely until he heard the front door close. He pulled her into his chest once more, ignoring the thrashing around. She soon calmed down in his arms. He wondered what Orochimaru had done to her to cause this.
A few hours later, Yua steered from her sleep. She was surprised to find Ibiki dressed. She carefully got out of bed before she got in the shower. When she came back into the bedroom, Ibiki was awake.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to wake you." She told him as she towel dried her hair.
"Shame, I wouldn't have minded joining you." He told her with a smirk and she threw the towel at his head. He caught it before it could hit him in the face. "Gaara stopped by." He then told her; he was now being serious.
"What did he want?" She asked as she dried herself off in front of him.
"To have to apologise to Kankuro." He told her and she frowned slightly.
"Was that all?" She asked confused.
"If there was more, we were interrupted by you." He told her, lying. He didn't want to cause any sort of rift between Yua and Gaara. "You had a night terror." He added and she froze, staring at her clothes. "What happened Yua?" He asked her, worried.
"Nothing." She answered and quickly dressed.
"It's not nothing if you're crying and screaming out in pain, thrashing around like you're trying to fight someone." Ibiki countered.
"Ibiki, life with my uncle was disturbing." She admitted. "No one really knew how sick he really was apart from me and his Kabuto."
"His Kabuto?" Ibiki asked confused.
"I'm not sure what Kabuto was to Orochimaru, his assistant, his bodyguard and I think his lover. They were always together, one way or another." She explained as she dressed. "Anyway, Orochimaru would kidnap people to experiment on."
"Experiment on them how?" He pressed. Yua took a deep breath and sat down next to him.
"They would swap body parts and add extra ones to others." She started. "They would see how long it took for death to set in for different wounds and so on."
"Torture?" He asked and she shook her head.
"Hardly. They weren't looking for information, it was simple sick curiosity and pleasure." She explained. "It was for his sick enjoyment." She spat in disgust.
"He's gone now." Ibiki reassured her.
"I know but it doesn't make it any easier." She pointed out. "He made me watch sometimes. He threatened to do it to me." She held back her fear, she didn't want to be seen as weak.
"He can never touch you again. I promise." He told her as he tried to reassure her the best he could. "Did he do anything else to you?" He then asked, worried that more harm had been to Yua than he already knew about.
"No, he lost his temper a few times and would lash out, nothing new to me." She admitted with a sigh. "It was better to let him lash out, the more try to defend yourself, the worse it would get." She went on to explain.
"But you needed to defend yourself." Ibiki pointed out.
"Not if I wanted to end up on the slab with his other victims." She chimed back. "Now, can we get off this sordid subject?" She asked, standing up. "I need to apologise to Kankuro." She added before Ibiki could say anything else.
"You need to find someone you can talk to about this, it's not healthy to keep it locked inside." He told her.
"I will deal with it how I see fit." She told him harshly and he sighed.
"I just want you to be happy and healthy." He told her and she nodded.
"I know, it's just difficult to deal with. I'm still trying to convince myself he's gone." She admitted and tied her hair up in a bun. She hated her neck overheating. "Come on, let's find Kankuro and I'll show you around." She told him and took his hand.
In no time, they were back at Gaara's office. "I'm sorry Kankuro-kun." Yua spoke sweetly. Kankuro grunted and then looked back at Ibiki.
"So, he's the reason no man can get with you?" He then spoke up, looking Ibiki up and down. "What does boldy have that no one else has?" He then asked.
"The name is Morino Ibiki." Ibiki growled and Kankuro ignored him, looking at Yua.
"Ibiki is the only man for me." She told him with a smile. "No one can compare to him." She added and gave Ibiki a kiss. Kankuro made a gagging sound. "Oh, shut up." She snapped at Kankuro. "Wait till you have a girlfriend." She added sticking her tongue out at him.
Yua quickly pulled Ibiki away to show him Suna. During their walk, Yua was approached by many children, most of them gave her a flower. A few asked who Ibiki was and she simple answered that he was her partner. Some of them didn't understand what that meant expect the older ones. Ibiki wasn't sure if he could get use to the attention, he was so used to the negativity shown towards the Konoha police force by all ages. Here it was different, may be because he wasn't a police officer here. Maybe because she was with him, he would no longer have to feel the negativity. He could truly have a new life.
"Yua..." He started but she glared at him. "Sumire." He realised his mistake, here, they knew her by her birth name, Sumire. "How would you feel about me joining the police force here, if Gaara-sama let me?" He asked, this time, he didn't want any secrets between them.
"If that's what you want." She told him. "I have no objections." She added with a smile.
"Thank you." She frowned slightly.
"Why thank me?" She asked confused.
"After everything that happened, you took me back and now you're supporting me to do what I want here." He told her.
"We both made mistakes before, but without these mistakes, we wouldn't have learnt from them. And I doubt we would be here, finally happy and left in peace." She told him and he nodded in agreement.
The week they shared with each other was just pure bliss. Yua was secretly worried about what Gaara would do next.
Yua stood with Ibiki in Gaara's office as he sat at his desk. Yua fidgeted with the helm of her top.
"Sumire-chan, stop fidgeting." Gaara ordered and Yua quickly put her hands behind her back.
"Sorry Gaara-sama." Gaara looked up at her annoyed. "Sorry." She whispered.
"Sumire-chan, do you believe that Morino could become a member of our community?" He asked her.
"Yes, Ibiki would like to become a police officer if you would allow it." She told him with a smile.
"Experience?" He asked, looking at Ibiki.
"I worked in the intelligence core of the Konoha military. When I retired from the army, I joined the Konoha police force." He informed Gaara.
"Your loyalty to Konoha?" Gaara then questioned.
"If you want me to attack Konoha then I'm afraid that I cannot do so." He admitted. "It was my home from birth. I still have many friends there." He explained.
"I'm not asking for you to attack Konoha, that is not something I want to do. I would rather make a peace treaty with them." Gaara stated plainly. "I am asking if you had to choose Konoha or Suna, who would you pick?"
"I'd pick Sumire." Ibiki asked honestly. "I would pick whatever Sumire would pick. But like I said before, I would not attack Konoha but that would not mean that I would not help defend the citizens of Suna." He added as clarification.
"Understood." Gaara answered simply. "If you would like to join the police force, you may." He then added, making Yua smile. Ibiki smiled, he now had a home in Suna. "Sumire-chan, I need a word with you in private." He then spoke up, Ibiki frowned slightly but didn't question it. He left them to talk and waited outside.
"What is it Gaara-sama?" She asked confused.
"Now you listen and drop the sama?" He asked frustrated and Yua simply smiled and shrugged. He shook his head and smirked. "So, are you sure about Morino?" He then asked.
"Yes, why?" She asked confused, it wasn't like Gaara to question her choices.
"You started a relationship with him, you both avoided telling each other the truth. Are you sure he is telling the truth now?" Gaara reasoned.
"I'm sure. He left everything behind to be with me." She told him. "Kakashi-kun wouldn't have sent him here if he thought it was going to hurt me again." She pointed out.
"Even if he works out for Suna, will he work out for you?" Gaara then asked.
"What is that meant to mean?" She asked, folding her arms over her chest.
"I just don't think he's right for you." Gaara admitted.
"And why is that?" She snapped at him.
"Because I looked into his army file. He was in charge of torture and was very good at his job." Gaara told her.
"Gaara-kun, I have seen torture as part of my job in Konoha." Yua sighed annoyed. "Torture isn't anything that makes my stomach turn. What makes my stomach turn is what Orochimaru did." She added.
"Just be careful." Gaara warned her.
"Keep out of my love life." She spat at him and stormed out. Ibiki blinked in surprise as Yua pulled him along.
Ibiki let her pull him home and waited for her to vent to him. "He suggested that you would hurt me again." She huffed.
"I won't, I promise." He told her and kissed her.
"I know."
