On with the story
Natsu and Happy had been travelling south for 3 days straight as it was now noon. the carriage was riding down a path that was leading them to the kingdom of their destination
Happy hummed as he drives the carriage while Natsu was inside, in the middle of cleaning his broad sword
As Natsu was cleaning his broad sword, he looks at his reflection upon the blade before looking outside as he sees a shadow hiding behind some rocks
The carriage soon stopped as Happy sees that they were surrounded by three individuals
"N-Natsu…" Happy called out to Natsu as he was shaking in fear
Natsu looks in front and sees one of the three individuals who is a beastmen, a Werefox
"get inside the carriage, Happy" Natsu said as he got out while carrying his broad sword "don't go out till I tell you so"
"a-aye" Happy said as he got in while Natsu stands outside
He looks at the individuals and sees them as beastmen as well
"a Werefox, a Werecat, and an Automaton" Natsu looks at them and sees them posing a hostile look to him
"leave the carriage! Or you'll get trouble!" the werefox exclaimed at Natsu while growling
"what he said, nya!" the werecat exclaimed while her claws come out of her paws
"make funny moves and I'll shoot you" the Automaton said while having a gun for a hand that was pointed at Natsu
"I refuse" Natsu said as he pulled out his magic gun and shot the Automaton's gun, destroying it
"waah!?" the Werecat and Werefox exclaimed in surprise as the Automaton looks in shock too
BANG! BANG!
Natsu shot his gun two times as he shot near their feet, causing the werecat to jump and clings onto the werefox
"call your boss" Natsu said as he placed his gun into his holster "now"
"w-what?" the werefox said in confusion before Natsu turns around to look at the road behind where the sun was sinking, the sky orange
Natsu looks at the setting sun as he sees a shadow approaching from it
The shadow grew large as it was a black knight riding a black armored horse making its way towards them all
Natsu holds his broadsword up and leans it against his shoulder before slowly walking towards the knight
Before long, the two now faced against each other
"you..you have some guts to face me" the knight said as the voice sounded like a female "name?"
"Lizardius…Lizardius Natsu Dragneel" Natsu said as he swings his broad sword down, causing some sand to fly up "a wandering adventurer and a king"
"ho? The hero who defeated the Demon King, huh? Interesting" the knight said as she got off the horse and draws out a sword "i shall be testing if you are who you state to be"
Natsu swings his sword up before to the side as a heavy gust of wind blew out, nearly blowing away the knight but startling the horse nearby
"I, Erza Scarlet. Knight of Red Roses" the knight said as she went into a battle stance with her sword hold with both hands "en garde!"
Natsu looks at her as he swings his sword to the side before, he dashed towards her
Erza dashed back as she swings her sword forward before both swords clashed with each other
CLANG! CLANG! CLANG! CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!
Metal clashes with metal as the two swords clashed with each other both knights facing against each other
"such an impressive skill, you are truly who you claim to be" Erza said to him "not many have ever survived this long against my blade"
"I do not care of such things" Natsu said as he pushed his sword forward, making Erza back away "I only care the importance of my power that I shall use to protect my family and kingdom"
Natsu holds his sword with both hands as the blade soon glowed red
"truly impressive words" Erza said as she holds her sword to the side "I respect your chivalry"
The two stared at each other as a silent tense moment filled the air before disappearing
Natsu and Erza soon dashed towards each other at high speed, both swinging their swords at each other
CLANG!
THUD!
Erza's sword went flying into the air before imbedding itself on the ground, a helmet falling next, scarlet hair sprawling out of it. Erza however fell down, her head not attached to her body anymore
"E-E-E-Er-chan!" the werecat screamed in horror with the werefox and the Automaton doing the same
"w-why Natsu…you…why did you…kill her?" Happy muttered out in shock, seeing what had happened
Natsu stood in his place as he swings his sword to the right before leaning it on his shoulder
He turns to look at Erza's body and then to her decapitated head
Natsu walks towards her decapitated head and picks it up
Imbedding his sword to the ground; Natsu opens the helmet and sees the face of a young woman, pale whitish skin, her brown eyes wide and lifeless, and her mouth gaping open, frozen during her moment of death
"I see" Natsu said as his helmet visor soon slides open
"h-hey, what are you?" the werefox spoke out before he and the rest of his allies, had their eyes bulging out to what they see
Natsu had leaned down to the bodyless head and kisses her lips
"C-CHUUUUU?!" the werefox, werecat, and the Automaton exclaimed in shock, their eyes bulging out
Natsu continued to kiss the head before Erza's lifeless eyes widen, her face instantly going red
Erza's fallen, decapitated headless body soon sprang up as it started to wrestle itself on the ground acting on its own, looking like it was freaking out
Natsu sticks his tongue into her mouth as Erza's head instantly let out a moan before separating
The Dragon man looks at Erza with a smirk while the head however, was breathing raggedly; face steaming red
"I knew it" Natsu said as he looks at the head before to the body that was trying to find the head, then back to the head "you….you are a Dullahan, aren't you?"
Dullahan, or known as the Headless Knight. They are a type of undead. This creature appears as a man or a woman riding upon a black horse, but the rider has no head upon their shoulders. Typically, the Dullahan carries its head under its arms.
Erza breathes raggedly as she glares at Natsu who chuckled in seeing her glare
A few moments later, Natsu and Happy were now in a campsite filled with many types of beastmen and humans
"this many" Happy said while driving the carriage and sees any beastmen and humans before seeing the collars on a few of them "and….those are…"
"slave collars" Natsu said looking at them all "some sort of resistance group, huh?"
"correct" Erza said as her head was being hold by her headless body "we're the Fernandez kingdom's resistance"
"it's kinda creepy when you talk with your head like that" Happy said feeling a bit scared when they knew of Erza being a Dullahan
"we, the resistance are a few in number but our hearts and will are strong" Erza said as she ignored Happy's statement "one day, we will overthrow the Fernandez kingdom and kill that ignorant, foolish king who had taken our kingdom"
Erza leads Natsu and Happy into the camp as the two sees the condition of the place
"I lead and protect the resistance, we will prepare ourselves to wage war upon the kingdom" Erza stated before the werefox, werecat, and the Automaton joined her side "these are my comrades"
"I'm Sho" the werefox introduced himself
"Milliana,nya" the werecat said next
"Wally, got it?" the Automaton said with a smile
"we had more allies, but they were taken as slaves by that monstrous king" Erza said as she clenched her fist "but in the future, we shall save them all"
"you were once human, weren't you?" Natsu said as Erza looks to him and nodded "I see, revenge drove you back from the dead"
"I was the former head knight of the kingdom before I was executed under false charges, the previous King was a ruler with grace and kindness but he was murdered by that fake king who now reigns the once peaceful kingdom!" Erza stated, her eyes filled with anger "I will not rest, till I restore what its rightfully in its place"
"I see" Natsu said before crossing his arms "then?"
"then? What do you mean?" Erza stated looking rather confused
"if you accomplished your revenge for your dead king and kills the fake. What then?" Natsu said before he holds a hand and slowly waves it to the side, to the people around them "what of these people? A kingdom without a ruler will surely fall quickly. Whether it is in the hands of themselves or the hands of an enemy. You yourself will disappear, a Dullahan will disappear once their vengeance is settled and just"
"t-then, I shall elect a new king!" Erza stated "a king who is wise and kind!"
"who?" Natsu asked "a once shadowed Kingdom cannot be ruled by someone who has been tainted in the shadows for too long. That kingdom will surely and quickly crumble like a tower of cards"
Erza took a step back as she could not come up with words to face Natsu's statements
"you didn't think of such things, didn't you? What you have been thinking is only revenge" Natsu said as he turns and started walking away "a clouded mind cannot know which path to take, after all"
Erza looks at him as she clenches her fists tightly
