On with the story
Three days soon passed after Natsu found the species of Dragon that moulted the scales of the necklaces, but right now; the Dragon man was just merely resting within his kingdom
Natsu was currently at the port part of the town as he looks to the ocean water, flowing in his kingdom's water way
He just stared at it, and his reflection. Sighing in seeing himself
"bored?" Kagura's voice called out as Natsu took a glance to the side and sees the Kraken girl surfacing up the water near him "I'm surprised that you are not on another adventure with Happy"
"merely taking it easy for a few days" Natsu replied "been thinking a lot, and decided to spend some time here"
Kagura looks at her husband before she rises out of the water, standing by his side
"how are the eggs?" Natsu asked as Kagura didn't had her eggs with her
"I asked Grandeeney-san and Wendy to take care of them for a while" Kagura said "it's a bit tiring when you have to carry two eggs at all times"
"I see" Natsu said chuckling a bit before he looks to the water and sees some of the boats were going to sail out soon "Dragons once thought to be extinct…will rise out of the sky, sea, and the land…poetic in a way, huh?"
"in a way" Kagura said before looking at Natsu's eyes and sees the sadness and fear in them "Natsu? What's wrong?"
"nothing..i was thinking of somethings" Natsu replied while sighing before looking at his reflection in the water
"care to share?" Kagura asked while holding his hand. Natsu looks at her before sighing and then rubs a hand over his face then to his hair
"I was thinking that I'm not going to be worthy of being king. I'm just a Crosians, not a full Dragon, nor human, nor demon." Natsu stated out before looking at his left hand "I was excited for the idea of bringing the Dragons back with you guys, I was thrilled to be the king…but at the same time somewhere deep in me. I was afraid. Afraid that I'm not truly worthy of becoming the king of Dragnof because of what I am. Because of my lineage"
Kagura looks at Natsu before she smiles
Her tentacles wraps around Natsu before pulling him into a hug, his head resting on her chest
"I'm sure that you will be able to rule Dragnof, Natsu." Kagura told him "you don't have to burden yourself too much"
"but…" Natsu muttered out, his face having a frown before Kagura started caressing his head gently
"but nothing, you are our king and you must trust in yourself, and to your people" Kagura told him while having a loving smile "we are here for you, just as you were there for us"
"I see…." Natsu spoke in a low voice as he closed his eyes and leans into Kagura's chest "…maybe, I was just being nervous, and anxious..the whole time"
"it's alright being nervous and anxious." Kagura said "it shows that you have a heart; a kind and loving heart that a king has"
Natsu's hands reaches around Kagura's waist as he pulled her closer
"thank you…Kagura, I love you" Natsu told her as Kagura patted his head gently
"I know, I love you too" Kagura replied while giggling a bit
The two stayed in their position for a moment as the boats soon sailed out
"it's funny…" Natsu spoke out, breaking their silence moment
"what is?" Kagura spoke softly
"I used to hate being attached to slimy and sticky stuff when I was a kid" Natsu said as he leans into Kagura's chest while her even closer "but…I'm loving how…slimy and smooth you are?"
"ara, I always thought that you like slimy and sticky because of loving me" Kagura said giggling as her tentacles wraps around Natsu even more
"yeah…I guess so" Natsu said as he rested while holding her closer
The day turned to noon as Natsu walks around his kingdom, passing by his people who greeted him
"this is the right way of Chivalry!" "we don't need swords!" "then how do you expect to defeat the enemy!?" "what enemy!? Are you blind!?" Natsu soon hears loud bickering as he looks to a bar and he could tell that it was Erza and Gajeel's voice
He went in as he sees the two bickering back and forth
"what is going on?" Natsu said looking to the other customers of the bar
"well…." Levy who was there, spoke out awkwardly to the King
Flashback
A few minutes before the bickering
"cheers!" Gajeel, Levy, and Erza exclaimed as they hold up their cups of alcohol, water for Erza as she was pregnant now
"man, it's hard to believe that Dragnof is growing up fast" Gajeel said before he drinks his beer and sighs satisfied "it feels like yesterday that the kingdom only had a few citizens which were us first comers"
"yeah, it's amazing when we came here but it's more amazing to see Dragnof growing" Levy said with a smile
"truly amazing" Erza said with her smile before she drinks her glass of water
The three chatted with each other as they told each other of what and where they were before coming to Dragnof, things were hitting off well until Erza and Gajeel started bickering
"we, law enforcers are the only law that Dragnof needs!" Gajeel exclaimed "we don't need knights and such things! Dragnof doesn't need to prepare for war!"
"that's why we need knights and such! To prepare for an unprecedented war! Think of it! The time will sure come when the entire magic world realizes of Dragnof existence!" Erza exclaimed "many will come and try to invade! That's why we need to prepare!"
Flashback
"they've been at it for 30 minutes straight" Levy explained as Natsu sighs and looks at the two
"we don't want war!" Gajeel exclaimed "we're sick of it!"
"just because we don't want war, it won't be the same to others!" Erza retorted
"enough" Natsu spoke out as he slammed a hand to the table, breaking their bickering
"N-Natsu!?" "K-King!" Erza and Gajeel exclaimed as Natsu looks to the two and sighs
"Erza, remember your condition?" Natsu stated as he looks to her slightly bulging stomach "you have our child within you, stressing yourself just means stressing our child's growth within you"
"i-I know" Erza said while looking nervous as she holds her abdomen
"and Gajeel, you should know that you are to never raise your voice against my mates" Natsu said, his eyes glowing red to the werewolf man
"i-I know, my king! But I can't stand her way of thinking!" Gajeel stated before Natsu holds a hand up to him
"I know, and I agree" Natsu said as he looks to Erza "we don't need to prepare for war, Erza. Dragnof is protected by an illusion magic that tricks the eyes of others outside the kingdom. Hyrus and Ceros are the guardians of the kingdom from the land and water. We won't be facing any wars at all"
"but what if it were the Demons!? Or the humans!?" Erza exclaimed "we all know just how fearsome they are! They might find a way to locate Dragnof and attack when we least expected it!"
"I know, and I agree" Natsu said as he grabs a seat and sat down, the two sitting down as well "Dragnof is a peaceful kingdom, and that peace won't be able to last long. I know that for sure"
"then!" Erza stated before Natsu raise a hand to stop her
"no, we will not create an army just for the sake of preventing a war coming to Dragnof" Natsu told her "I am not forcing others to fight for the sake of the kingdom and it's peace"
"but if we don't. our peace will be gone in moments when an attack comes!" Erza exclaimed
"I know, but we won't be making an army" Natsu said before smirking "instead we will be creating a brigade"
"a Brigade?" Gajeel said as Natsu nodded
"a Brigade of 10 individuals, each specializes in different skills" Natsu said as he stands up "and you Gajeel will be the one to find them"
"w-wait! King!" Gajeel exclaimed "my job is as the head of law enforcers in the Kingdom! You want me in this Brigade too!?"
"yes, and that's I choose you to create the Brigade and find the members" Natsu told him "I maybe powerful and mighty, but my duties lie not only to protect the kingdom but ensure balance. Both of those duties, I cannot accomplish alone"
"but why chose me?!" Gajeel exclaimed before Natsu pats the man's shoulder and grasp it hard a bit
"it's because of who you are. You showed leadership in the Law Enforcers and that is a valuable skill in the Brigade" Natsu told him "I am only a King in title, I do not have the ability to know the skills, the people of my kingdom have. But you do. that is why you shall be the leader of the Brigade, Captain Gajeel Redfox. Find them and build the Brigade that shall be the shields of Dragnof"
Gajeel looks surprised by Natsu's statement before he steels his nerve and nodded
"I won't let you down, my king" Gajeel said as he did a small bow "you have my word"
"I know" Natsu said with a smile before he looks to Erza "and as for you, Erza. You must let go of the thought of a coming war. We are in Dragnof, peace is given upon everyone"
"i-I know, but I'm just worried" Erza replied "I'm worried that what happened in my kingdom..might happen again here"
"I know, but I won't let it happen" Natsu told her as he cups her cheeks before giving her a kiss on the lips "I can promise you that"
Erza nodded as Natsu gives her another kiss on the forehead
"now about that army idea, you had" Natsu said as he smiled "I think I got an idea that might be a little correlated with it"
"what is it?" Erza asked curious
"you shall see" Natsu replied as his lips turns into a grin
A week soon passed as Natsu stood in front of a squad of beastmen and humans consisting up to 20 individuals
"I shall be away to find my next mate, you all shall be stationed as the knights of Dragnof" Natsu spoke out as they were all in front of the hidden entrance which had Ceros nearby, the Cerberus laying down while sleeping "Ceros knows and can smell danger but he cannot tell who is friend or foe. And that's where you all come in"
"we will guard the entrance with our lives, my king" the captain of the squad said while doing a salute "you have my word"
"yes, but remember that you are my people and you must live as well" Natsu said as the captain nodded and bowed
Natsu soon got on his carriage as Happy was at front, as usual as the Driver
"I'll be off" Natsu said as the squad all bowed to him
The carriage soon drives away as they were going away from the entrance
"now then" Natsu said as he grabs his helmet and puts it on "to the Berghixs Mountain"
"Natsu, what are we going to find there?" Happy asked curious as the Dragon Man hadn't told his female companion, the reason as to why they were going there "that mountain is like a volcano that erupts every day"
"some new citizens told me that they heard stories of a creature living in that volcano" Natsu explained to the feline "they believed that it was a Dragon"
"I see, so we're going to go there and check it out, right?" Happy said as Natsu nodded
"who knows who we will we find there" Natsu said "but that curiosity is what always makes an adventure exciting"
"aye!" Happy exclaimed with a smile "off to the Berghixs mountain!"
