On with the story
Natsu was in a bar as he is in a town near the Berghixs mountain
After 4 days of travelling, Natsu and Happy arrived at the location but decided to gather some info first
Inside the bar were some townsfolk while some looks to be adventurer and mercenary. All drinking and chatting while Natsu was the only one sitting by the bar
The Dragon man had a shot of whiskey placed in front of him as the bartender started placing back a bottle of whiskey to the shelves
"you want to know about the Dragon spotted here?" the bartender asked while taking a mug and clean it "you should be asking someone else that. This is bar not some info selling place"
Natsu place three gold coins to the table as the bartender looks at him before taking the gold coins
"the sightings started a couple weeks back. First sighting was thought to be a joke for laughs, but they were getting more recent when time passes" the bartender informed Natsu who grabs his glass "most of the sightings are near the mountain. Many Groups of adventurers and mercenaries went there because of a reward bounty put up. Not many came back alive, those that did said nothing as they look terrified, and scared shitless"
"did some say what they seen there?" Natsu asked as his helmet's mouthpiece slides open before he drinks his whiskey
"flames. Flames everywhere, burned and melted the ground" the bartender replied "every single one of them says the same thing, repeating "flames everywhere!" "flames burning me!" over and over"
"I see" Natsu said before he looks to the wall and sees a bounty paper sticks on the wall. The reward for capturing the Dragon to a rich man who will pay 100,000 gold coins "is that the bounty?"
"yeah, the price keeps on rising because the client guy wants to make the Dragon a pet or something" the bartender stated "heard that the client is a king from a nearby kingdom"
"is that so?" Natsu said as he placed down his glass, empty of whiskey before he got out of his seat "thanks for the shot"
"you're planning on going for the reward, aren't you?" the bartender asked as Natsu shook his head before turning and started walking out of the door "what's your name pal? Didn't get to hear it"
Natsu stops before turning to take a glance to the bartender
"Lizardius Natsu Dragneel, a wandering mercenary" Natsu replied before he went out
"Lizardius, huh?" the bartender said before chuckling and takes Natsu's glass and place it away "no wonder he looks awfully familiar"
Near the bartender was a Wanted Poster, with Natsu's appearance drawn on it
Natsu heads out of the bar as he turns around to his carriage where Happy was waiting while snacking on a fish
"how did it go, Natsu?" Happy asked while munching on his fish
"mountain, directly straight to it" Natsu said as he got on "we're heading there now"
"aye sir" Happy replied as he finished his fish before whipping the rails, the mechanical horse started pulling the carriage and they were off
But they didn't know that they were being watched in the shadows
Happy drives the carriage to the mountain range as they arrived bellow the volcanic mountain and there was Lava flowing down the top
"Natsu, I don't think we can get there like this" Happy said as there was lava in their way
Natsu got out as he looks to the flowing lava before to the volcanic mountain
"this would be a perfect place for something big to hide, especially a Dragon" Natsu said as he grabs his sword from his back before swinging it to the side
A powerful gust of wind blew out as the flowing lava in front of them, instantly freezes and hardens
"go, Happy" Natsu said as Happy nodded before whipping the rails once, the mechanical horse pulled the carriage over the frozen lava
Natsu followed behind before he stopped when he heard something from above
"Natsu, was that?" Happy asked hearing the same thing
Natsu looks up as he hears the sound again from the dark clouded skies above
"that's.." Natsu muttered out as he sees something bright flying into the volcano
He looks at where it was flying as Natsu had some suspicions on what it was
"Happy set the carriage here" Natsu told the feline as he went to the horse and unstraps it from the carriage "I need to go and check by myself"
"are you sure?" Happy asked as Natsu nodded before getting on the mechanical horse
"let's go, Catastoras" Natsu said as the horse neighs before starting to run towards the mountain
Running up the mountain, Natsu arrived at the top
Getting off his horse, Natsu looks down and sees the boiling lava in the mountain
The lava burning hot, and flames rages inside of it. The mountain seemingly waiting to erupt at any moment
Natsu looks around as he soon finds tracks, beastmen tracks
"some sort of species of the Harpy?" Natsu said as the tracks looks like it came from an avian beastmen "could it be?"
KA CLACK
Natsu soon heard a pebble rolling around behind him as he quickly turns and sees a woman holding a giant rock above her head
"Haaa!" she shouted as she slams the rock down at Natsu
Natsu jumps away as the surprise attack missed him
The Dragon Man reaches for his sword before a ball of mud came flying at his helmet, blocking his vision
Natsu wipes the mud off his helmet as the face plate opens
opening his eyes after rubbing the mud off, Natsu sees the woman having a dagger in her hands, lunging it towards him
"what?!" Natsu looks in surprise as he dodged the dagger before grabbing the woman by the waist before slamming her down to the ground
"Gah!" the woman exclaimed in pain as Natsu grabs her dagger and points it to her neck
"you..you have some quick steps, don't you?" Natsu said before a ball of mud went flying and hits his back
Natsu turns his head around and sees a small yellow bird creature behind him, holding some balls of mud in one wing
"Momon! Run!" the woman screamed to the little yellow bird
"l-let Éclair g-go!" the little bird creature named Momon shouted while shaking "or else!"
"ho? Are you some sort of Harpy?" Natsu said looking curious to the little bird before to the woman "and you..you're not just a woman, aren't you?"
The woman glared at him as she pushes the dagger away before Natsu
Natsu jumps off as he stood up and sees Momon running to the woman who hugged him
"I see" Natsu said as his faceplate slides close "you two aren't just Harpy at all"
The woman named Éclair wore some sort of Indian tribe clothing, she had red fire golden wings on her back. Her feet, claws like a bird. Her overall appearance seems normal like a person, except that her hands and legs had some red feathers along the surface. the little bird having nearly the same feature, only that it was a pure bird
"you two are Phoenixes, aren't you?" Natsu stated
Phoenix, more known as the Immortal Fire Bird. The Phoenix are unlike any Avian type Beastmen, they are more associated with the Elemental beastmen. Described to be the Elemental of Fire itself. The Phoenix cannot die as it can heal and resurrect itself upon death, hence the name Immortal Fire bird, it arises from death in the ashes of its predecessor. The tears of the Phoenix can cure any wounds upon itself or others, and the Phoenix's blood may grant immortality to others but with the cost of the Phoenix's own death
"I thought that all Phoenix were extinct before the Age of Dragons" Natsu said slowly approaching them "you two must be survivors"
Éclair glares at Natsu before she spreads her wings and flied up
"leave!" Éclair exclaimed as she flies away, her wings blazing in flames
Natsu looks at Éclair flying away as his face plate slides open
"feisty one" Natsu said while rubbing his chin "I might take her as my next mate"
