On with the story
"Run! Éclair! Run!" a man with wings shouted out as Éclair sees flames burning everything
"hurry! Fly away and don't look back!" a woman who looks similar with Éclair shouted next as a group of armed men was running towards them
"fly!" they shouted before spears and arrows came raining down, the two were impaled with them
"MOTHER! FATHER!" Éclair screamed out as she was just a child
"what's your name?" Éclair asked as she holds Momon who was smaller
"M-Momon.." the little bird replied while shaking in fear "I'm scared"
"I'm Éclair, don't worry" Éclair said as she hugs Momon close while the two were in a cage together "I'll protect you from them"
"you two are Phoenixes? How strange" the flaming Dragon spoke out as it looks at Éclair and Momon from within the mountain "I had believed that your race had been wiped out from existence during the age of gods"
"please, let us stay here" Éclair asked as she kneels down and begged to the Dragon "we've been chased by humans for decades, they've murdered the rest of our kind. Taking away our wings, and blood. All for a myth that they will gain immortality from our blood"
"please! Mr Dragon!" Momon begged too while crying
The Flaming Dragon looks at the two before sighing and sinks down in the lava
"do as you want" the flaming Dragon replied "my home shall grant protection to the both of you for as long as it can"
"then!" Éclair exclaimed as the Dragon nodded
"I too am the last of my kind, I know of the horrifying things that the two of you had too faced" the flaming Dragon replied "it'd be nice to have companions than living here in solitary for decades"
"take her blood" Dyst said with a smirk as his companions laughs at Éclair whose wings were torn of their feathers
Chase went forward as he holds up his claws at her
Éclair looks in fear as Chase got close to her and lifted up his claws before swinging it down
"ÉCLAIR!" someone's voice screamed out to Éclair as it sounded like a child
flashback
Éclair woke up in a startle as her eyes sees pink hair and she felt hands on her back, holding her close
She looks up and sees Natsu, the Dragon man looking forward
"you're awake" Natsu said as he took a glance to her
Éclair's eyes immediately widen as she started pushing Natsu away from her but the man holds her close to him
"stop" Natsu said as his hands were protectively holding her, and they were glowing red "I'm still healing your wings"
Éclair looks at him before looking to her wings, the feathers were re-growing back
"my wings…." Éclair muttered out before realizing that she was in a carriage with him, the night sky was outside "where are you taking me!? Where's Momon!?"
"relax" Natsu told her "I'm not taking you anywhere yet, and Momon is sleeping right now"
Natsu pointed to the side as Éclair turns and sees Momon sleeping under a blanket with Happy who was snoring with a snot bubble
"be quiet, he's very tired and needs a lot of rest" Natsu said before he focuses on healing Éclair's wings
Éclair looks at Momon before she lets out a sigh of relief before looking at Natsu who was healing her wings
"why?" Éclair asked as Natsu hummed in reply
"why what?" Natsu replied as he looks to Éclair's wings, the feathers were returning and shined vibrant like fire
"why help us? When we just push you away? Not wanting your help" Éclair said as Natsu took a glance to her before to her wings
"you were in need of help, so what else?" Natsu asked before he stopped healing her wings, as all of her feathers were returned "and besides, Momon signed my contract. My service to protect you was in action"
"contract?" Éclair said in confusion before remembering the scroll, Natsu had given to them "h-he signed it!?"
"yes" Natsu said before smiling "which means that you will be my mate"
"n-no!" Éclair exclaimed as she pushed Natsu away and sat at the corner of the carriage "I won't ever become anyone's slave! No one!"
"you aren't going to be a slave" Natsu told her as he knelt near her "neither of you"
"lies! Lies!" Éclair exclaimed, her eyes filling with tears "humans always lie! Always! They've killed my parents! Momon's parents! Everyone! Just for what!? For some myths that our blood will give them immortality! You humans slaughtered and murdered my kind! Ridding us of the world!"
Natsu looks at Éclair as he can feel the amount of sadness and loneliness coming from her
"I and Momon, we're the only ones left…-hic- -hic- we are the only Phoenixes left in this world" Éclair cried out as her tears slides down her cheeks "all…because of you humans…I wish….i wish just to die from being born as who I am…"
"I am the same as you two" Natsu said as his form changed into his Dragonic form "I was once the last Dragon in existence…well, that was what I thought after I met my Uncle again"
Éclair looks at Natsu as he sat down before looking at her with a smile
"the reason of why my kind nearly went extinct is because of myself" Natsu told her as he looks at his hands and formed them into knuckles a few times "I am not truly a Dragon but a Crosians. A mix of three races into one. An abomination that was despised by some Dragons yet accepted by other Dragons. I was alone; my mother and father, they died when I was still young. Then I was alone…decades of loneliness, having no mother, and no father; no one to raise nor love me. I was truly alone"
Natsu closes his eyes before sighing and then reopening them
"i….was supposed to have not existed in the first place, but.." Natsu said as he closed his eyes and sees an old man smiling to him in his mind
"so what if you are a mixed race!? What is important that you are alive! Don't think of anything else! You should be grateful of being born to this magical world!"
"a wise Geezer told me that I should be grateful, be grateful that I am alive. Never regret that I was born" Natsu stated before having a smiling himself "life is a gift that we all should be grateful of, no matter what we are born into. We must never regret on we are born in."
Natsu looks at Éclair as he went near her
"s-stay away!" Éclair exclaimed as she tried to push Natsu away, but the man holds her hands gently before placing them to his heart, letting her feel his heartbeat
"do you hear it? My heartbeat?" Natsu asked her with a gentle voice "that is the proof that I am alive."
Natsu's hands soon gently holds Éclair and pulls her into a gentle yet warm embrace
"you have a heart, and it is beating" Natsu whispered to her "that is the proof that you are alive. Always remember that everyone in this world has a purpose."
"p-purpose.." Éclair muttered out before she sees a vision
In her vision, she sees herself with Natsu as Éclair was carrying three eggs, one crimson red, the other two are golden red with a feather like marks upon their shells
"my purpose….is to rule my kingdom, save as many slaved humans and beastmens…and" Natsu said before leaning away and looks at Éclair who was in tears "…to save you, my mate"
Éclair's tears overflowed as they shined from the moonlight
Natsu cups her cheeks as he wipes away her tears gently
"your purpose…what is your purpose, Éclair? What is..your desire?" Natsu asked with a whisper as Éclair leans to his warm and gentle hands
"my..purpose…" Éclair muttered out before she started to softly cry in tears "…my desire…..i….i want to live…..i want to….live in peace….with Momon…with…you…."
Natsu smiled lovingly as he kisses her tears away, his lips tasting the saltiness of her tears
"if that is your desire…" Natsu said before leaning close to Éclair's lips "…I shall grant it to you"
The two soon in a passionate kiss as Éclair's tears drips down even more
While the two were in their moment, Momon and Happy had woken up and watched the whole scene
Happy and Momon had happy smiles as they close their mouths to not let a sound out at all
The next day had come as Natsu's carriage was riding down the path, leading to Dragnof
Happy drives the carriage while Éclair and Momon were inside, sleeping with together
Natsu however was in the sky, riding on top of the head of Flaming Dragon who is known as Atlas Flame, the Hellfire Dragon
The Hellfire Dragon's flaming body, not even affecting Natsu who sat upon his head
"this takes me back" Natsu said as he felt the gusting wind blowing upon his face and through his hair "my father used to take me and my mother in the sky when I was only 2 years old. And I remember how thrilling it was"
"yes, Igneel loved to fly in the sky" Atlas replied with a chuckle "fly as high in the sky, overlooking the world bellow him"
"it's great to meet you once again, Uncle" Natsu said "it's been decades since the last time, we've met"
"it has, and I'm truly regretting my past decision" Atlas said as he flaps his flaming wings once and soars in the sky above "if I had known of your survival, and your adventures. I would have assisted you, teach you of the ways of the Dragons. Just like I had done in the past with your father"
"you do not need to regret anything, Uncle" Natsu told the flaming dragon "I had learned that if I am to be king, I must learn, adapt, and survive in this world on my own. That's the way I had taken"
"listening to your statement…reminds me so much of Igneel" Atlas said chuckling "you are truly his son"
"I take that as a compliment" Natsu said with an equal chuckle "and Uncle, I wish to ask you a request and that is….may you teach me and my future children…the ways of the Dragon?"
"it would be my honour, my King" Atlas said as he let out a roar which Natsu copied with his own
Atlas soon laughs with Natsu as the two were very close to each other
The flaming dragon soars in the sky as he flies higher, reaching the limits of the air as if he was going to fly towards the bright sun
