On with the story
Natsu was in a bar with his Dark Elf guest, Ranta as the two sat in one table. While surrounded by Gajeel, a soldier guard, and two Dark Elves from Ranta's group
Ranta looks at Natsu before his eyes took glance to his surrounding before to the Dragon Man
"you desire for us to converse…in a human bar?" Ranta asked while looking a bit confused
"it's actually a Werefox named Sho's bar" Natsu said as Milliana came and served the two, glasses of water "a best place to converse than a hall, wouldn't it?"
"when I heard that this is the Kingdom of Dragons…I had thought that your guards would be…well" Ranta said taking a glance to Gajeel then to the window and sees a bunch of Beastmen soldiers guarding the area "…Lizardmen, Wurm, Wyverns, or even possibly Lamias. Anything that might relate to Dragons"
"if you assume that I have to hold traditions of the fallen Dragnof, you are surely mistaken" Natsu said before holding his glass of water "please, enjoy the water. It is from the Wartert flower. A very known flora from your forest, is it not?"
"yes, you seem to know it quite well" Ranta said while keening his eyes on Natsu
"my mate, Lucy who is a Hakutaku, is very knowledgeable in many things" Natsu replied as his helmet's mouthpiece slides open, and the man drinks the water "and I must say that this is a very delightful refreshment's
"yes, it is" Ranta said as he holds his glass before taking a sip from it "but enough of this conversation, let us move on to the main point"
"you came to ask for assistance" Natsu said as he takes off his helmet and his eyes were glowing red "then ask away"
"as you know, my companions and myself have come from our forest. We are in dire need of help" Ranta explained "Demon Kins have come and wreaked havoc to our forest and to our village. They killed and annihilated everyone and everything in sight. Our village elder gave us a mission to find help."
"and you came to Dragnof, to ask for my assistance" Natsu stated with a raised eyebrow "strange"
"pardon?" Ranta asked "what is strange?"
"let me ask you this, Ranta was it?" Natsu asked while leaning forward on the table "I know of how you could've known tales of me from around, but how you knew where to find the location of the hidden entrance to Dragnof? It's hard to believe that you could've found it…by luck"
"we didn't, we found the location by gathering information from towns and villages" Ranta replied "the people of my village are experts in gathering information, and we accomplish it; no matter the cost"
Natsu looks at Ranta as he looks directly into his heart
"continue" Natsu said as he leans back and sips his glass of water
"what else is there to continue?" Ranta asked "I have told you everything. my village, my people, their lives are in danger and need help!"
"really now?" Natsu asked as he punched the wall behind him, and soon pulled out a hooded Dark Elf from out of nowhere "then what of this one? He seems interested in talking"
"Barta!?" Ranta exclaimed as Natsu throws the dark Elf away, causing him to crash to the wall
"if this is an act of war upon my kingdom, I'll gladly reply with full force" Natsu said as his hands reached to his magic gun, Gajeel and the guard turning hostile to Ranta and his comrades
"wait! We do not mean harm! Please!" Ranta exclaimed as he went to Barta "please! He is my son, Barta Levina Aqart! He was not supposed to come with us nor supposed to do any actions!"
Gajeel and the guard slowly approached them but Natsu holds a hand up, causing them to stop in their place
"you were not supposed to come with us, Barta! You disobeyed my orders!" Ranta exclaimed to Barta while looking furious "how could you leave the village!?"
"I am already 117! I'm a fully pledged Ninja Elf! You can't just order me around like I'm still 50!" Barta exclaimed to his father before looking at Natsu "and besides! I don't like this guy's attitude! He acts all so mighty!"
"Silence! Barta!" Ranta exclaimed as he slaps his son's cheeks hard "you do not know what dangers you could bring yourself in!"
"why!? We don't need his help!" Barta exclaimed before the other two Dark Elf guards takes him away "hey! Let me go!"
"make sure that he doesn't do anything foolish as well!" Ranta stated as he sighs tiredly while rubbing his face
"rebellious, isn't he?" Natsu asked while looking amused
"yes, he has more of his mother's fiery spirit than that of mine" Ranta said before bowing to Natsu "please forgive my son's actions towards you, he means no harm nor was he supposed to have come with us"
"i can already see why" Natsu said before sighing and looks to the ceiling "if Kaithan and Levia come to that rebellious age, I might be in trouble myself"
"I am truly sorry" Ranta said as he sat down and bowed again "it's just that he has been riled up to fight with us as a Ninja like his elder brother who had passed away during the Demon Kin's first raid of attack"
"I see, vengeance was burning in his eyes" Natsu said while rubbing his chin "Ninja, huh? Your village must be a part of the Zupangu descendant, are you not?"
"why yes, but how did you know of that?" Ranta asked while looking surprised
"I've encountered some of you in the past. very stealthy and very efficient in the day or the night" Natsu said with a smile "and sometimes in a word, cool"
"yet we are not efficient or 'cool' against the Demon Kin" Ranta said before bowing once again "please, Hero Lizardius Natsu Dragneel. We beg of you to come and help our people. Our numbers are dwindling, it is only a matter of time before we are wiped out by the Demon Kin"
"that depends" Natsu said as he takes out a scroll and place it upon the table, the scroll soon opening to reveal a contract paper "are your people willing to pay the price?"
