Okay, let's try that again ...
Henry pressed the retry button again, time seeming to rewind right back to the second after he fell out of the vent. He heard one of the Toppats yell again.
"We've got a stow away!"
Henry immediately got up and bolted, ready to choose an option that would either help him, or make things more difficult.
The options popped up; a grenade, leap boots, and a white flower. Henry snatched at the first thing he saw and a grenade materialized in his hand. He ripped out the little pin, then tossed it behind him.
Apparently, the teal Toppat had good reflexes, catching the grenade and throwing it back at incredible speeds. The grenade landed in Henry's hood, and was ready to explode.
BOOM!
FAIL!Again withtheexplosives? I thought you would've learned your lesson by now.Retry
He tried again.
Two more choices left, now. He selected the option 'leap boots'. They appeared on his feet and he let himself hop once.
That little hop was enough to fling him into the air so hard that he crashed himself halfway through the ceiling.
FAIL!Ouch ...Retry
Henry groaned, getting increasingly more frustrated with every failure. After getting it out of his system, he pressed retry.
One more option left. He wasn't sure how a simple flower would help him, but he gave it a shot anyway.
He threw the dainty plant behind him like he did with the grenade. It landed in the teal Toppat's face, and he stumbled. He began to claw at his rapidly swelling face, swearing and sneezing like there was no tomorrow.
Looks like he was allergic.
Henry quickly darted around the corner while the pair were distracted.
Then, hid inside a tiny room, which seemed to be a janitor's closet, judging by the mops, brooms, and the overwhelming stench of bleach.
He leaned against the door, struggling to take steady breaths as he tried to calm down. He noticed a large crack in the wall, just big enough to crawl through.
Looks like there's only one option here.
Charles swung open the apartment door, rushing in as quickly as he could, Ellie in hot pursuit behind him.
"Henry?" He called out. "Henry, where are you!?"
No answer.
Ellie started to call out as well. "Henry, get your ass out here now!"
Nothing.
"Something isn't right, I can feel it," Ellie mumbled.
Charles nodded in agreement. "There's no way Henry would leave the base early without letting us know first."
Ellie pulled her phone out of her pocket, typing rapidly. "I'll see if I can call him. You go check his room.
She didn't have to tell him twice. The pilot ran down the hall to where Henry's bedroom was and flung the door open. He noticed two items lying on top of the crumpled blanket.
Henry's phone vibrating, along with a file with scattered papers.
"No need to call him, Ellie!" Charles called. "He left his phone here!" He walked over to the bed, then his heart sank when he saw that the file was labeled 'Toppat Files'. He picked up the phone to see that the only app opened was a GPS, showing directions to a small town by the sea.
Ellie came into the room. "Did you find something, Charles?"
"Yea ..." He turned around and showed the girl the phone's screen. "I think I found where he might've gone ..."
