Hey guys, I was looking through my documents and found this hidden away in a Notes folder. I'm not sure where I was going with this, but I do remember wanting to write a character using old cards like in the good old days where things weren't as complicated. Not that I don't like Pendulums, Synchros, and Xyzs, but I do yearn for the old days some times.

So, some context. From what I remember, I wanted Naruto to act more like he does in canon as opposed to my OOC Naruto from GYGOD. Naruto knows Sarutobi, who runs a Duel Academy, and he gives Naruto a chance to get in. That's about it really.

"Ok kid, don't think I'll go easy on you just because you know the Dean." Mizuki's lips lifted into a small sneer as he looked down at Naruto, who glared back.

"HEY! If anyone's going to go easy on anyone here then it's me!"

"Grk- brat!" Mizuki growled, holding his duel disk up, a motion which Naruto copied. "Time to put your cards where your mouth is punk!"

"Bring it jerk!"

"DUEL!"

"I'll go first!" Naruto said loudly, drawing a card from his deck. "I summon 'Lady of Faith' in attack mode!" A timid looking woman with long blue hair in some kind or robe garment appeared on the field, her hands brought together in prayer. "Then I'll put a card facedown and end my turn!"

"Is that it? Some timid little nun is your only line of defence?" Mizuki taunted over the mutterings of their audience. A few snickers could be heard amongst them.

"What a pathetic monster."

"Yeah but he has a facedown."

"Pfft, like Mizuki-sensei will be beaten by some measly facedown card."

"My turn" Mizuki's voice quietened the crowd, "draw! I summon 'The All-Seeing White Tiger' in attack mode!" Before Mizuki appeared a white tiger with a scar over one of its eyes.

"Tear that nun to shreds!" The tiger roared and ran towards 'Lady of Faith', its claws poised to rip through flesh. Naruto grinned.

"HA SUCKER! I activate my trap card, 'Reinforcements'! It gives my monster 500 attack points! Now it's stronger than your pussy cat!"

"Think again brat!" Mizuki sneered, "I activate the Quick-Play Spell card 'Shrink'! It cuts your monsters attack in half!"

"What!" Naruto yelled, taking a step back, as 'Lady of Faith's' attack dropped from its new level of 1600, to a measly 800. The tiger jumped with a roar, tearing through 'Lady of Faith' and dealing damage to Naruto's lifepoints.

"Damn it! You cheater! You can't use spell cards during the battle bit!" Naruto yelled, pointing at the man angrily. The crowd and Mizuki burst in laughter, and Naruto's frown grew. "What's so funny!" He demanded.

"HA! What a dumbass!"

"He doesn't know anything!"

"SHUT UP!" Naruto screamed, stopping the laughter- though Mizuki still had a few chuckles left.

"Wow kid, you don't even know about Quick-Play Spells? You do realise that they can be played during the battle phase, right?"

"EH! They can?!" Sarutobi sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose between forefinger and thumb.

"Oh Naruto…"

"I can't believe you didn't even know that much." Mizuki shook his head in disbelief. "How can you expect to get into this school without at least knowing that." Naruto growled.

"Screw you! If I'm supposed to learn how to duel at this school then why the hell should I know that, huh? Sounds ass backwards if you ask me." The crowd blinked as one.

"He has a point you know."

"Hey yeah, why do we need to know how to play Duel Monsters to get into to a school that teaches us how to play Duel Monsters?"

"Well now that you mention it, the whole idea sounds pretty stupid."

"QUIET!" Mizuki yelled, stopping the chatter again. 'Phew, that was close. If they start to question too much, I can say goodbye to this cushy ass job!' "Alright then brat, take this as a live lesson in Duelling 101! I'll end my turn now, so let's see what you've got."

"OK! My turn, draw!" Naruto looked at the card in his hand. 'What does this do?' Narrowing his eyes, he brought it up to his face to read the card description. His eyes widened along with his grin. "Awesome! I play the Spell card 'Fissure'!"

"Damn it!" Mizuki growled, being very familiar with that card, as were most duellists. He watched as a crack in the ground appeared under his monster, sending it spiralling down into the depths of the earth. Naruto grinned and picked another card from his hand.

"Next I summon 'Ancient Brain' in attack mode!" A small old man in a green robe, with two purple wings and a large brain sticking out of his head appeared on the field. From its forehead was a red spike, and on its face was a large orange beard/moustache combo. In its hands was a staff.

"Well what do you know, you do have a brain after all." Mizuki joked, getting a few laughs from the crowd. "But that monster appears to be all brains and no brawn- unless you plan to think me to death then it won't do much."

"Oh yeah, then how about this! I equip 'Ancient Brain' with 'Stim-Pack' which gives him a boost in brawn!"

"Go and show that jerk who's boss!" 'Ancient Brain' raised its staff and fired a beam at Mizuki.

"Not so fast kid! I activate the effect of 'Kuriboh' in my hand! By sending it to the graveyard I can negate your attack and end the battle phase."

"WHAT THE HELL!" Naruto growled, stomping his foot in anger. "That's super cheap!"

"Suck it up brat."

"Grr, fine! I end my turn!"

"My turn, draw. I summon V-Tiger Jet in attack mode, and then I end my turn!" Mizuki smirked as he crossed his arms, staring at Naruto expectantly.

"Ha, who's the idiot now! That thing's weaker than my monster! My turn, draw!"

"What the hell?!"

"Are you serious? You don't even know the effect of your own spell card?" Mizuki's face was twisted into a mask of befuddlement. "You're a special kind of stupid, aren't you?"

"What the hell are you talking about?" Mizuki sighed.

"Honestly… 'Stim-Pack is an Equip Spell card that boosts a monsters attack by 700 points, but during each of your standby phases it loses 200 attack points." Naruto's eyes widened.

"What the- that sucks!"

"That's why barely anyone uses it- honestly I was surprised when you used it. But in retrospect, I suppose if anyone would use it, it would be you, wouldn't it?"

"Well yeah, I used it didn't I?"

"…"

"Tch, fine, I'll just tribute 'Ancient Brain' then!"

"What?!"

"I sacrifice 'Ancient Brain' to summon 'Pumpking The King Of Ghosts'!"

I think I remember stopping this because I ran out of steam, and because I don't think this story would have ever gone anywhere. Ah well, at least it has a place in the crossover side deck.

In fact, screw it, I'll throw in some other little thing that I did at some point, because why not.

"'Combo Master', destroy his 'Thunder King Rai-Oh'! Youthful Punch!" A very muscular man with braided red hair kept back with a bandanna charged towards a humanoid figure in what looked like blue armour, punching it full force in the face and shattering it into pieces. A man with white hair that spiked up wards, with a bandanna over one eye and a medical mask covering the lower half of his face watched as the blue figure vanished.

"And Gai's 'Combo Master' destroys Kakashi's 'Thunder King' with ease, bringing Kakashi into the red along with Gai!"

"Now then" Declared a man in a skin tight green clothing and orange leg warmers, his black hair cut into a bowl cut which along with his massive eyebrows gave him quite an odd appearance, "because of my 'Shrink' spell that I used in conjecture with 'Mystical Space Typhoon', I made a chain of two cards, giving 'Combo Master' a second attack!" The crowd watching the duel roared with excitement.

"WOAH! Did you hear that people?!" A woman with purple hair styled in a short, spiky, fanned-ponytail yelled into a microphone, "Gai has another attack! Is this the end to another of these two's countless rivalry battles?!"

"Sorry Kakashi, but it looks like I've made my lead even bigger!" Gai roared exuberantly, pointing at Kakashi with a large grin. "'Combo Master'! Daytime Tiger!" 'Combo Master' once again charged, this time at Kakashi, who didn't react.

"Sorry Gai, but you should have picked my other facedown card to destroy earlier. I activate my trap card 'Scrap-Iron Scarecrow'." Gai flinched.

"EH?!" A scarecrow made from scrap parts leapt up in front of 'Combo Master', taking the blow before falling back down. "Grk! I see; you waited until the last minute to activate your trap, giving me false hope of my victory." Gai closed his eyes, crossing his arms and nodding. "HOW HIP OF YOU MY ETERNAL RIVAL!" His calm demeanour shattered as he pointed at Kakashi shakily, his eyes white circles on his face. Kakashi looked up from his hand, a dull look in his eye.

"Hm, you say something, Gai?" Everyone sweatdropped as Gai cried out about Kakashi's 'hipness' again.

"Grk- I end my turn." Kakashi drew a card, and his eye closed and somehow turned into a downward U, or an 'eye smile' as the media had taken to calling it.

"Sorry Gai, but this is it."

"What?"

"I summon 'Sword Master' in attack mode."

"I see, so you've summoned a Tuner monster." Gai observed. "But without another monster there's not much he can do- and with it in attack mode I won't even need 'Combo Master's' effect."

"Normally you'd be correct, Gai- but I also have this card to go with it! I play the spell card 'Monster Reborn'."

"MONSTER REBORN!" Gai's eyes widened in horror, "Oh no!"

"I revive 'Thunder King Rai-Oh' to the field!"

This duel between Kakashi and Gai was going to be at the start of another Naruto GX crossover with Naruto watching it at home on the TV. In fact, it might have been part of the previous bit in this upload.

This might be it as far as the Crossover Side Deck is concerned. I don't think I have anything left in my documents to use, so unless I write anything after this than expect no more. Not that I expect anyone to even care but whatever.
