On with the story
Natsu sat in his tent as he sat on a seat in front of a table and was accompanied by Makarov and Warta who stands at his side
"so..the Elves of the Titania Forest has sent you as a personal messenger to ask for help from myself, huh?" Natsu said as his right hand hold the scroll in hand while across him sat the Elf Messenger who was being watched by two of Natsu's soldiers "I find it strange"
"what is?" the Elf Messenger asked
"the Elders of the Titania Forest would send a personal messenger to a far away land that is far from any reach to other kingdoms, to come here specifically?" Warta stated as he crossed his arms "I find it suspicious that the elves of the Titania Forest would start to ask for help, especially for how they ensure that they're the superior race after the Dragons"
"watch your mouth, you filthy Dark Elf!" the Elf Messenger exclaimed "you and your worthless corrupted clan has no need in listening to this message!"
Before long, the table was destroyed in half by Natsu whose eyes glowed red
"it is you who had better what your mouth, Elf" Natsu stated as scales climbed up his neck up to his cheeks and his eyes turning reptilian "to you that is Warta appears, but he's my Father in law. I dislike disrespect claimed towards a family, especially mine"
The Elf Messenger looks at Natsu as a single bead of sweat slides down his cheeks
"let us stand down from a possible aggression" Makarov stepped in as he halted any further possible conflict. The old general looks to the Elf Messenger and asked "we had send you a message in the past months stating that we will not agree to join the Elf faction, no matter how many messages you send to us"
"we understand that, but the message that was conveyed will explain it all" the Elf Messenger stated as he snapped his fingers and the scroll glowed green
Natsu lets go of the scroll as it floated up and they soon see green magic letters appearing in the scroll
"the Demon Army have come to attack Titania Forest, we are in dire need of your assistance, Lizardius Natsu Dragneel" the Elf Messenger said as he did a small bow to Natsu whose eyes scanned the magic letters "please, help my people"
"I refuse" Natsu said as he stands up from his seat before walking to the tent's entrance "Makarov, prepare a horse and send this Elf away"
"why?! Why won't you help us!?" the Elf Messenger exclaimed in pure shock "are you not the man who claims to be the King of Dragnof!? Someone whose sole duty is to keep the balance of the world!?"
"that would be me in the past but now…" Natsu said as the scales on his face disappears and his eyes returned back to normal "..i am uninterested to help a race of ignorant Elves"
"I-I-Ignorant!? How dare you claim the proud race of Elves Ignorant!" the Elf Messenger exclaimed before Natsu held his magic gun in front of the Elf Messenger's forehead "w-what are you?!"
"I dare? I dare to claim your race of elves as ignorant? Do you know why?" Natsu asked before he snapped his fingers and the two soldiers grabbed hold of the Elf Messenger's arms "your race supported the seven kingdoms pact, aiding their soldiers in battle while getting protection from them. Wouldn't that proof that you and your race are ignorant?"
The Elf Messenger stared at Natsu with shaking eyes as the Dragon King had a menacing aura surrounding him that instantly formed a transparent red Dragon behind him
"get away from my sight and never come again" Natsu said before he tilts his head to the side once and the soldiers takes the Elf Messenger away
"wait! Please! We need your help!" the Elf Messenger exclaimed while getting taken out of the tent "we will pay you with jewels and gold! Please!"
"my service isn't sold to jewels or gold from my enemies" Natsu stated as he looks at the Elf Messenger before to Warta and Makarov "send off any Elves who come here bearing the mark of the Titania Forest on the base of their neck, only accept other Elves who does not have the mark"
"as you wish, my king" Warta and Makarov said with a bow before Natsu walks out of the tent and away to who knows where
Night soon came as Natsu stood by a cliff watching the endless sea and the night sky filled with stars
The moon was in its full form as it was a peaceful and nearly quite moment for him but not for the beastmen and human camp where there were laughter and cheers of joy
Natsu just stood in his place, watching the sea that was reflecting the light of the stars without sparing a moment to move at all
"my king" Warta came walking in as Natsu glanced at the Dark Elf before to the sea
"what is it?" Natsu asked
"the amount of beastmen and humans who have come here have now reach to the number of 104, our ships will be ready to depart back to Dragnof with them" Warta reported as Natsu nodded "and also, during the last ship that had returned here. One of the soldiers brought letters for you"
"from who?" Natsu asked as he turns towards Warta and received a few letters all in different colors
"from Kamika and the others, my king. I've also heard that Sorano-dono have just laid her Dragon Egg" Warta stated as Natsu opened one letter and reads it before having a smile "and judging how there were some claw marks on the ship, I would say that your children tried to get on board to meet you"
"once they're 10 years old, that is when they will be allowed to come here" Natsu stated as he reads another letter while his smile never left him "for now, they're still hatchlings to me and are in need of constant protection"
"do you wish to convey that into a message?" Warta asked as Natsu nodded "as you wish, my king"
Warta bowed before he soon left to do his king's orders
Natsu stood in his place alone yet again as he just reads all the letter his mates have just send
The night quickly comes long as it was quiet and silent
The camp was quiet as all were sleeping except for Natsu who just sat by the cliff in silence and was looking at his letters. All the message within were just how his beloved ones misses him and how they wish him to come home
Natsu chuckled a bit when he reads one letter from Kagura who had write to him, saying that Kaithen and Levia tried learning how to fly with their fins like wings but just failed horribly
He folded all the letters away before they disappeared into sparkles
Natsu lets out a long sigh before his ears perked up a bit when he heard a small rustle by the forest
He glanced at the forest as his eyes glowed red and his vision soon focuses to the forest
Natsu looks at the forest before he soon sees something silver shining behind a tree
"enemies" Natsu thought as he got up before grabbing hold of his magic gun and fired several shots into the forest
BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!
The loud gunshots alerted the soldiers as everyone went on high alert
"my king!" Warta shouted out as the Dark Elf came running towards Natsu with Makarov "are you alright!?"
"I heard movements in the forest, get some soldiers prepared and to check it out" Natsu stated "make sure that they're well protected with any armor, there were already enough casualties from the last battle months ago"
"as you wish" Makarov stated before he runs off to do the King's orders
"movement at night? Could it be one of the Seven Kingdoms?" Warta asked as an attack during the night is a great opportunity to annihilate enemies
"I don't smell any humans, they must be cloaking themselves with magic or something" Natsu said as he grabs hold of the broad sword laying on the ground before leaning it against his shoulder. Natsu's face plate slides closed as his eyes glowed red behind it while he lifted his magic gun up "I'll take lead"
Entering the forest, Natsu took the lead in while the soldiers were behind holding their swords and torches
It was silent, almost as if there was nothing inside the forest.
Natsu looks around the area as he could hear nothing than his and the soldier's footsteps
Further in, Natsu finds a dagger on the ground
Crouching down, Natsu looks at the dagger and was about to pick it up when Makarov intervened
Natsu looks at Makarov who shook his head before throwing a branch at the dagger, a deep fall trap soon appears as the dagger falls into a pit filled with spikes
"one of the many ways to ensnare a beast or a beastmen" Makarov stated as he looks around the area and could see some reflection from something shining on the ground, around the area "I suggest that no one is allowed to pick up anything on the ground"
"you seem to know this trap for some reason" Natsu said "care to tell why?"
"it's a Fiore Kingdom capture method" Makarov explained before looking at Natsu "and I'm the one who invented it"
All patrolled the area while ignoring the shining objects on the ground that range from silver coins, daggers, swords, shields, and even a crown
Before long, Natsu and the rest came out of the forest with nothing
"how did it go, my king?" Warta asked with some guards behind him. All left to guard the camp while they were in the forest
"nothing" Natsu said as his faceplate slides open "it's like the enemies just set up traps for no reason whatsoever"
"no, I suspect that it might have been a diversion" Makarov stated "a diversion to divert our attention elsewhere"
"a diversion? A diversion for what exactly?" Warta asked before a loud explosion rang out from the ocean as a fire appeared from bellow the cliff
"a diversion that allows the enemies to attack our ships!" Makarov exclaimed as they soon heard loud cannon fire coming from the sea
Natsu gritted his teeth as his face plate slides close and his eyes glowed menacingly red behind the visor
Ships were sailing in the sea as they all fired their cannons at the docked Dragnof ships as one by one everything was getting destroyed and burned into flames
"fire them all! Destroy all their ships!" a human man who seems to be the general that was leading the armada of ships shouted out as the ships fired all their cannons before reloading and firing again
The cannons fired before a wall of flames appeared and burns all the cannonballs into hot liquid metal that falls into the sea
"what!?" the general looks in shock as Natsu floated in the sky with his eyes glowing red behind his helmet "that's him! Lizardius Natsu Dragneel! Aim all cannons at him!"
The ship's cannons fired as the cannonballs flied towards Natsu
"humans" Natsu growls angrily as he grabs his broad sword from his back before swinging it to the side, all the cannonballs instantly exploding "arrogant and obnoxious"
Natsu lifted his sword up as thunder rang in the sky with dark clouds forming a vortex
Lightning strikes down as it electrocuted Natsu's sword before rains of lightning strikes down everywhere in the sea
Natsu soon swings his sword down as bolts of lightning strikes down all the ships, causing explosions that burns them all into flames
The soldiers on the ship screams as they started jumping off the burning ships
"come back here! Cowards!" the general shouted as he stayed on his ship before he sees Natsu floating in front of his ship "Lizardius! On guard!"
The general draws his sword as he swings it at Natsu who caught the blade in between his fingers before the sword shattered into pieces
"what?!" the general exclaimed before Natsu grabs his face and flies up "let me go! Let me go!"
"Poor choice of words" Natsu said as he lets go while in the air, the general shouted out as he crashes into the water in a big splash
The general surfaces up the water as he looks to the burning ships that were sinking to the bottom of the ocean before to Natsu who floated on top of the water
"mark my words, Lizardius! In the name of the King of Fiore! You shall be brought to justice!" the general shouted as Natsu stared down at him
"and what have I ever done to have the need to be brought to justice?" Natsu asked as he just stares down the human general
"what have you ever done?! You sheltered those beastmen and traitors who fled the war! All shall be punished accordingly! That is justice!" the general shouted as Natsu stared down before he floats up "mark my words! You shall die! I shall see to it!"
"you shall see to nothing" Natsu said as he flies up in the air, his eyes glowing crimson "for you are sinned and the sin must be punished"
"what are you blabbering about, filthy beastmen!?" the general shouted before he heard a loud whistling noise "a w-whistle?"
The ocean water rises as Hyrus came out and the Baltic Hydra let out a roar at the general and his soldiers, all screaming in fear
"make sure not to leave a single one alive" Natsu said as he holds the bone whistle in his hand before he blows on it hard, Hyrus soon roared before the Hydra's eight heads strikes down upon the enemies.
Screams rang out in the night as Natsu floats down to the camp where Warta, Makarov, his soldiers, and the beastmen all look at him
"get back to your tents and rest for the night" Natsu stated as the soldiers started to move the beastmen back to their tents while Natsu looks at Warta and Makarov "I'll be leaving with Happy to the Fiore Kingdom tomorrow morning, I'm going to have a word with their king. In the meantime, see to it that of the ships that are salvageable are repaired and prepared to sail"
"as you wish, my king" Warta stated
"my king, if I may come with you. I would like to find out why would Fiore join the other kingdoms in the eradication plan of the beastmen" Makarov said as he stepped forward "my allegiance is to Dragnof as to this point but Fiore was once my home, please grant my request"
Natsu looks at Makarov before his faceplate slides open
"do as you desire, I shall not stop you" Natsu stated before he walks towards his tent to rest for the night
"thank you, my king" Makarov said with a bow before he turns to walk away
The night was soon calm as the screaming in the ocean had stopped, only that it was tainted in red blood that soon disappears
Near a mountain range, Catastoras walks upon the land while pulling the carriage as Happy drives in front
Happy, Natsu, and Makarov were on their way to the Fiore Kingdom as they were going to find out the reason why Fiore had sent an army to attack and the reason why would they join the seven kingdoms' pact
"we should be there by noon, Natsu" Happy called out in front as Natsu and Makarov just sat back in the carriage "what do we do once we get there?"
"I have an old friend in the Fiore Kingdom who will help us in getting a face to face meeting with the King" Makarov stated "once we get there, let me do the talking with the guards"
"how can we trust this friend of yours if he sided with Fiore?" Natsu asked while in the middle of polishing his broad sword "time is something that can change a person's personality"
"but not the heart, my king" Makarov stated "please trust me on this, my friend would never turn against another"
Natsu looks at Makarov before he focuses on polishing his broad sword
"I shall take your word for that" Natsu stated as he finished polishing his sword before placing it away "if not, Fiore Kingdom might be the next kingdom I shall raid"
The sky soon turned dark as the carriage was reaching to the borders of the Fiore Kingdom
"here we are, Fiore" Makarov said as he sees the giant gates that surrounds the Kingdom "majestic as always"
"it won't be anymore once it burns to the ground" Natsu said as he placed his gun into his holster before attaching his broad sword to his back
"please, my king. Fiore is unlike any other kingdom" Makarov stated "it is a peaceful Kingdom much like Dragnof itself. I can assure you that no harm will ever come to us within this kingdom"
Natsu looks at Makarov before to the gates as the carriage was closing in
"very well" Natsu said as he puts on his helmet and his face plate soon slides closed "lead the way"
Guards were stationed around the gates to the Fiore Kingdom as they halted Happy from entering
"inspection please" one of the guards asked as three others went to check the inside of the carriage
Checking in, they find Natsu and Makarov inside the carriage
"General Makarov! It has been long!" one of the guards exclaimed with a big smile as Makarov nodded with a smile as well "have you come back to Fiore?!"
"no no, I'm no longer a general and I'm just visiting Fiore" Makarov said "I'm here on a mission by my king from Dragnof. Anyway Is Rob on his duty today?"
"I see! General Rob is at his office now. Should I go and tell him that you are here?" the soldier asked as Makarov nodded
"that would be much obliged" Makarov said as the soldier nodded before running off
"and who is this man?" the two soldiers asked Makarov while looking at Natsu whose face plate slides open to reveal his face "h-he's!"
"yes he is" Makarov stated "we are here to meet the Fiore King, it would be in your best concern to let us through. We all know what he is capable of"
The two soldiers looks at Makarov before to Natsu whose eyes glowed red before to each other as they nodded to each other
"all clear!" the two exclaimed as the gates to Fiore soon opens and Happy soon drives Catastoras to go in
The carriage went in as Makarov and Natsu looks at the guards
"seems like you're quite famous here too" Natsu said as his face plate slides close
"I am merely an ex general to this kingdom, my king" Makarov stated before he looks at the houses within Fiore "but I must say, nostalgia can be such an enemy"
Natsu hummed before he looks to the front where in the center of the kingdom was a large castle that belongs to the royal family of Fiore
Upon arrival to the castle, Makarov gets off first before he was greeted by an old man who wears a high ranking uniform
"Ma-bo!" the old man greeted Makarov with a big smile as so did Makarov
"it has been a while, Rob!" Makarov replied as he hugs the old man while patting his back a few times "it is good to see you doing so well!"
"this old bones of mine still has some purpose left after all!" Rob stated with a happy smile "I've heard from the gate guards that you were coming to visit. It got me in joy to hear that my old friend is coming to visit that I had to stop all my work just to greet him"
"hahaha, you were always the loving type, Rob" Makarov said with a grin
"so? I've also heard that you were here not only to visit Fiore but to meet the King." Rob said before he looks to the carriage and sees Natsu coming out which made his eyes widen a bit "M-Ma-bo! H-he's!"
"I know, Rob. But I must ask you to help us meet the king of Fiore. It is a very important matter that both must meet or.." Makarov said before leaning close to Rob's ear "…disaster might fall upon Fiore"
Rob nodded before he looks to Natsu and then to Makarov
"come, the king is at the Throne room" Rob stated as he leads the way into the castle while Makarov, and Natsu follows in. Rob soon ordered one of the guards "make sure that no one is allowed to do any harm to the blue Cait Siths and the carriage!"
"yes!" the guard replied with a salute before he looks to Happy who was eating a fish
"want a fish?" Happy asked holding a fish while he was eating one in his mouth
Entering the castle; servants, soldiers, and generals all made way for Rob who leads Natsu and Makarov to the throne room.
"quite a number of generals are gathered here" Makarov noted as he sees a lot of familiar faces around
"some things have changed when you left, Ma-bo" Rob stated "the situation of Fiore is not as it had been in the past"
The three soon arrives to a large door that was guarded by 8 guards and one who seems to be a captain
They formed a line as they held out their sword and shield while the captain stood in line
"we have an important visitor to the kingdom, it is important that the king converse with him" Rob told the captain and the guards who didn't move from their spot "let us pass"
"we cannot do that, General Rob. The King has ordered that none comes in now" the captain of the guards stated before Natsu stepped forward and the guards pointed their swords at him "move back, Lizardius Natsu Dragneel"
Natsu looks at them before his armor burst into crimson flames that instantly burns the swords around him and melted them
"my king is a bit stressed at the moment" Makarov said "it'd be best that you do not anger him or Fiore might burn into flames"
The captain looks at Natsu as the Dragon King's eyes glowed crimson behind his helmet
"y-you may pass" the Captain said as he stood aside and the doors to the throne room opened, he soon went in first
"it is a good thing that we are best of friends, Ma-bo" Rob whispered to Makarov who nodded before the two followed Natsu before the door closes
Within the throne room, everything was as majestic as it gets for the Royal Family as there was a glass chandelier above the ceiling, servants and guards all around with many valuable looking objects and lastly there was the throne for the king
Upon entering, Natsu sees that all the guards went in front and made a line in front of the throne
"why have you come?!" a knight who wears black armor stated while holding a sword in hand and was in front of the guards "have you come to purge this kingdom?!"
"I have enough of this" Natsu said as his eyes glowed red "move away or be burned by my flames"
"you'd better move" Makarov stated "he means what he means"
"General Makarov, so you brought him here." The knight said as he looks at Makarov before to Natsu "I suppose that you came to burn this kingdom, did you not?"
"I would, if I hear the reason for the attack on my kingdom many months ago" Natsu stated as he snaps his fingers and all the glass windows and the glass chandeliers shattered, causing shards of glass to fall everywhere "move away. NOW"
The Knight grips his sword tight before Rob came in between and pushed his hand down
"it is alright, Captain Arcadios. The King of Dragnof only came to Fiore to have a talk with the King. He will not cause any harm unless provoked" Rob stated with one eye open "and I must warn you, you are not helping in keeping Fiore safe, right now"
Arcadios looks at Rob before to Natsu as the Dragon King stared back with his glowing red eyes
Soon, the knight sheathed his sword before standing aside and bowed
The guards followed as they made a path for Natsu leading to the throne where the King is and he is a man with a short stature as he is Toma. E. Fiore
"you're the King of Fiore, huh?" Natsu stated as he stood in front of the throne before crossing his arms "I must say, Fiore seems to be a peaceful Kingdom unlike the vile soldiers they have sent to attack my kingdom"
"w-why have you come here, Lizardius Natsu Dragneel?" the King asked in a stutter as it is a frightening thing to have a man of great power who could destroy a kingdom in a single minute come to the throne
"to have a chat as one of your generals have stated" Natsu said as his face plate slides open "I'm here to get some answers as to why was this pact created and why did your fleet come and attack the campsite where I had the evacuated beastmen and humans?"
"fleet? Attack a campsite?" Toma said in confusion as he just looks utterly confused "pardon me, but my kingdom has never sent an attack on anything"
"if I may interrupt" Makarov said as he stepped in "previously last night, an armada of ships came sailing to the location of the campsite, my king has created to protect beastmen and humans who were former slaves and war deserters. We were attacked by them and all the ships have a kingdom's symbol. The Fiore Kingdom's Symbol"
"but that's impossible. Not one our ships have even went to sail out of the borders" Toma stated as he looks purely confused or he was just acting
"so at the moment, we might have a possible threatened attack or we have a possible attack that was intend to frame our kingdom" Rob stated "and it would seem that we have the second at hand"
"are you saying that another kingdom sent an intentional attack to frame Fiore?" Makarov stated "I am aware that some Kingdom does not have any good correlation relations with Fiore but sending an armada just to frame Fiore? That is something of a new level"
"Arcadios, do a check on all Fiore ships" Toma stated to his knight "ensure that there was not one missing nor any general with a battalion of soldiers had sent off to initiate an attack"
"yes!" Arcadios replied before he went off to do his king's orders
"if your kingdom did not send that attack" Natsu stated before he pointed a finger at Toma "tell me the reason as to why did you agree to send armies to attack Dragnof many months ago? And also"
Natsu swings his hand to the side as he sets a pillar in flames and a cloaked figure came running out with screams of pain from being burned
"apprehend that man!" Makarov shouted as guards tackled the cloaked figure and restrained him
"after I get my answers from the King, I'm going to get my answers from him" Natsu stated before looking at Toma who was in pure shock as to see what had just happened "so? will you truthfully answer my question? Or lie and die?"
