"Thinking"

On with the story

At an island in the middle of the ocean, Catastoras was at the beach simply standing there while Natsu and Happy were venturing in the island

"so this is Borba island, huh?" Happy said looking around the place as the island was not that big nor small but it was dense with a big forest like jungle

"if you're hungry or thirsty, don't eat anything that is in the forest until I make sure that it's safe to eat" Natsu told the feline as he leads first into the jungle

"aye" Happy replied as he followed behind

Natsu journeyed into the jungle with Happy behind as he looks around and didn't hear anything

"strange. This island is usually filled with many wildlife, but it's so silent like there's no more living being here" Natsu thought as he pushed away a long bush like leaf and checks around the area "as I thought, there is something not right here"

"Natsu, what's that?" Happy said pointing his paw to the front as Natsu looks ahead and sees many stumps in a large opening

"what?" Natsu said going further ahead as he looks around to see many stumps everywhere "someone cut down all the Burta Trees"

"maybe someone needed the wood?" Happy said jumping on top of a stump and looks around "there could be a beastmen tribe here"

"that's not possible" Natsu said as he crouch and caresses a stump and sees how fresh the cut was "Burta Tree wood rots in just one day after it got chopped down and using Burta tree's wood is a mad choice"

"why?" Happy asked

"the tree is poisonous when touched with your bare skin" Natsu said as Happy screamed because he doesn't wear shoes and he was standing on top of the stump "but the stumps aren't"

Happy let out a sigh in relief as he is not poisoned, nor will he die

Natsu looks around before he finds footprints on the ground

"footprints? From what?" Happy said seeing the footprints too

Natsu crouch down as he examined the footprints and they were human like footprints

"looks human, but I don't smell any human in them" Natsu said as he stands up "I only smell elves"

Soon, an arrow came flying as Natsu whipped his hand to the back and caught the arrow that nearly hits Happy

"iiihh!" Happy screamed as he sees many glowing eyes appearing in the forest around them "Natsu!"

"I know" Natsu said as he grabs hold of his magic gun and broad sword "get to cover"

Happy soon ran to a fallen hollow log as he hides in it while Natsu faces the enemies around him

"I should've known how prideful your race is" Natsu said as Elves came out of the woods with bow and arrows, magic staff, magic sword, and orbs. All imbued with magic and they were using it against Natsu "I guess you spread words to your brethren in the Titania Forest"

"we shall make you pay for humiliating me, Lizardius Natsu Dragneel" one Elf stated as he was the Elf Messenger who tried convincing Natsu to help the Elven tribe but failed

"I guess you were lying about your forest going to be attack by Demon race" Natsu said as he cocked his magic gun while tapping its barrel to his shoulder a few times "I can already think of many things of why the elder elves would deliberately send a messenger to get my attention or help. First, get me on your race's side, blame the human and the demon before having my power destroy them then get rid of me once my purpose is done. Second, try to find a way to get to me in anyway after that use me before getting rid of me. And lastly, you were trying to find the right moment to kill me with some sort of ancient magic that could even harm a Dragon. All scene just involves me getting killed or any sort of the way"

"I've failed and was nearly exiled by the elders, but luck was on my side" the Elf Messenger stated "if I bring back your head, I will be welcomed as a great hero to my race. Now! Kill him and take his head!"

BANG!

A gunshot rang out as the Elf messenger had a bullet hole in his head

"ah…ah…agh…ahhhh" the Elf Messenger groaned out as his eyes rolled to the back of his head before he fell with blood pouring out of his head

The other Elves watched their fallen leader and then to Natsu whose magic gun was smoking

"I see" Natsu said as his eyes glowed red behind his helmet while a crimson aura covers his armor "then just die like the great heroes of the past"

"get him!" one of the elves shouted before blasts of magic went flying into the air and down towards Natsu

"fools" Natsu stated as he wave his right hand to the side and a pillar of flames erupted bellow his feet and spreads to the whole land

BOOM!

A devastating explosion appeared upon the island as everything was burned away

The island now had a smoking crater in the middle of it as Natsu was surrounded in smoking ashes and around him were black skeletons who were the elves before they were burned to their death

Natsu looks to the side as one elf was still alive and he was shakingly hold a heater shaped shield on that seemed to had defended him from the flaming attack

"ho?" Natsu hummed in amusement as his faceplate slides open "so one survived, huh?"

The elf seems to be a young man but since his race is that of an elf, he may look young, but he could be over a hundred years old

Natsu started to approach the terrified elf as he sees the shield, he was using

"you, where did you get that?" Natsu asked as the shield seems to have markings of a Dragon sculpted on it "where did you get that shield?"

The elf was just shaking in his boots as Natsu sighs before prying his shield from him

Looking at the shield, Natsu sees that it has magic symbol in scripted to its frame and there was the name of Igneel upon it

Natsu squinted his eyes before he looks at the Elf and grabs him

Hoisting him up by his shirt, Natsu shakes him once before getting close to his face

"I'm going to ask you just one time, alright? Where did you get this shield?" Natsu said to the elf who was just stuttering as he tries to speak before getting shaked by the Dragon King "do you think I understand stuttering elf language?"

Natsu's faceplate slides closed before his eyes glowed crimson behind his visor

"I'm counting down to three, once it reaches that number I want my answer or I'll send you off in flames" Natsu said as his helmet's visor ignites in flame "1…"

"I' !" the elf blabbered the words so fast as Natsu looks at him while tilting his head a bit

"2…and I better hear the words with spaces" Natsu said shaking the elf once again while counting

"I've got the shield from my father who received it from a human old man a decade ago!" the elf exclaimed "he gave it to me when I was heading out! I know nothing else! Please spare me! I know nothing else!"

The elf started crying as he begs for Natsu's mercy

"a human..had this shield?" Natsu said looking at the elf before to the shield in his hand as it glowed red "makes sense that someone must've taken it in the past"

Natsu dropped the elf before attaching the shield onto his right arm

The shield glowed crimson before it transforms its shape into that of a crimson Dragon's head that has the eyes glow red before dimming

"perfect fit" Natsu said softly as he caresses the shield's surface once before looking at the elf who was trying to crawl away "I'm not done with you yet"

Natsu soon went and grabbed the elf again before lifting him up from his back collar

"please don't kill me! I have my wife who is conceiving my child!" the elf begged to Natsu who just sees how he was crying so much with no stopping

"if you don't stop crying then I'll kill you then your wife, do you want that?" Natsu said as his eyes glowed menacing red behind his visor

The elf soon stopped crying as he clamped his mouth shut

"I'm going to let you live but if you ever want to live with no fear of me coming to hunt you down, I'm going to need you to do one thing, got it?" Natsu said as his face plate slides open and the elf nodded rapidly "I want you to deliver a message to your elders in your councils, and tell them this"

Red scales appeared all over Natsu's neck to his cheeks as his eyes went reptilian

"mess with my kingdom one more time, and I'm coming after you all. Understand?" Natsu stated with a threatening voice as the elf nodded rapidly again before Natsu drops him "now scram"

The elf instantly bolted away as he ran in fear of Natsu

"elves, always thinking that they will remain superior to others" Natsu said as the scales slowly disappeared "now with that done, I should be going home"

Natsu started walking away before he stopped when he realized something

"where's Happy? Natsu said as he looked around for the blue feline

A few feet away from Natsu, Happy lied in a charred log as the feline was all black and his fur in an afro

"h-h-help.." Happy moaned out in pain before he puffs out smoke from his mouth
