Frank-25

Callie- 24

Joe-24

The characters are older than canon. The first few chapters will be rated T for violence. Don't tell me that it reminds you of another story, even if it does, its just a coincidence.

I deleted the story so I could make changes to it. I felt it was too short and the grammar was all over the place. Hope its a lot better.

"Callie, why would you say that about Joe?"Frank asked his fiancée.

Callie snapped, "It is always Joe with you. Joe's the most selfish prick I have ever seen. I wish he would just die. The terrorist should have just killed him instead of Iola. He's a death magnet. The world will be a better place without him.

Frank's mouth dropped open. He couldn't believe what Callie was saying. On July 16th of this year, They were engaged. Both of them wanted to wait until after college graduation.

Joe was watching the couple fight and he had no idea how much Callie was hurt by him; particularly he didn't care about Callie but she was an integral part in Frank's life and Joe loved his brother and therefore attempted to befriend Callie to soothe Frank's unspoken fears. Callie was going to be his sister-in-law and he needed to bury a hatchet. He was going to speak with Callie when he heard raised voices.

"Callie,Joe's my brother and whenever he needs me I'm there. That doesn't mean that I love you any less." Frank replied, struggling to regale his temper.

"Frank, If I can't be first with you, then I am going to give you an ultimatum: choose Joe and you and I are done forever or choose me and abandoned Joe."

Frank stared blankly and didn't say anything. How could he choose between the two people he valued most in the world; Callie is his fiancée but Joe is his brother and his best friend by choice.

When Frank didn't answer, Callie replied bitterly, "That makes everything crystal clear." Callie said, turning on her heel and left.

"Wait Callie." Joe called out. "Frank, may I have some along time with her". Joe couldn't let his brother suffer because of him.

"Okay". He replied and then went inside.

"Joe I'm sorry. Don't be angry with Frank. It was all me."

"Callie. If you felt like that why didn't you tell me or Frank?

"I was afraid to..." she admitted. "I thought that if I told you, I'll start off my marriage with bad blood between us and... "

"Callie. The only person that should matter to you is Frank. Everyone else including me, he emphasized the word 'me' "is secondary."

Callie stared at him and she mentally smacked herself.

"Callie, you and I have nothing in common except that we both want what's best for Frank. "Cal,if you have a problem with me, tell me. Don't take your anger on my brother. He loves you so much ever since he laid eyes on you. You're the best thing that ever happened to him."

"You're right. Joe. I was pig-headed. Joe hugged his sister in law. "I love you Callie. You can always come to me with anything. You're my sister and I'll always protect you, no matter what."

"Same here." Callie nodded. "Joe, you're a goofball but I must admit that you know how to make people feel better. Do you think Frank would forgive me. He's been patient ever since we lost our son. I'm being taking him for granted ever since we got the news he was stillborn. Tears rolled down her cheeks and Joe handed her a handkerchief.

"Frank's the most caring, loving, patient person. He puts up with me twenty-four/ seven, doesn't it? With my lame jokes and everything."

Callie smiled. She wiped her tears and went to find Frank.

"Frank, we have something to apologize for."

"Apologize? What for?" Frank said.

"Joe and I have been talking and we agreed that it was unfair for you to have us arguing all the time. I know you felt torn between the two. Thankfully, Joe was gracious enough to give me a second chance. We talked it over and we decided to bury the hatchet."

"I'm sorry. Frank." Joe apologized to his brother. "I'll be careful not to upset Callie and you can always count on me to look after your family if you're swamped with work."

"I promise never to take you for granted." Callie promised

"You guys. You have nothing to apologize for." Frank said gently. "Joe,don't you have a wife to look after and a two- month old baby

A car drove up the lane and stopped outside Frank's house.

A girl got out of the car and Joe went up to her and hugged her. She opened the door and carried Erica inside.

"Joe what's going on. Who is she?" Frank asked Joe.

"Frank, Callie... meet Vanessa's cousin, Sofia"

"Frank, you were so swamped with work and college and you lost your own child two months ago. You were a mess and I didnt want to tell you at all. I wanted to tell you..."

"Tell me what?" Frank prompted.

Tears rolled down Joe's cheeks. " two months ago, Vanessa passed away a week after childbirth. I wasn't there when she died because Callie lost her child and I was there with you. When I came back, she had passed away. I missed the birth of my child as well as the death of my wife. Vanessa wanted me to be with you. i don't regret that one bit."

"Joe. Why didn't you tell me?" He made his way closer to Joe and hugged him tightly.

"I couldn't tell you then because you guys lost your own kid, my bad news would have added fuel to the fire and I didn't want to lose either of you." Joe's heart-breaking confession was too much for Frank to bear. Tears rolled down his own cheeks.

"Joe,I'm so sorry." Frank murmured out a reply. Callie hugged Joe tightly.

Erica started to cry and Joe picked her up. "Its alright, Erica. We're going to be alright." He whispered to his daughter.

It was two hours since Joe's heart-breaking confession and Frank was pondering on how to be there for his brother. No matter what.

"Erica, mom's not coming back."Joe whispered to his daughter. "I'll always be there for you, though."

"I want my mummy." Erica wailed.

Joe patted her back and said, "Erica. Your mother loves you very much." He sent Frank a pleading look which read help me.

"Erica. Come here." Frank said to her. This was meant to be a gentle tone but the tone made Erica cry.

"What's wrong. Erica." Joe asked her. Frank shrank back in horror.

"That man scared me. He's scary." Erica said through her tears. Frank stared at her. Did he look scary?

"Erica, that's Frank. My elder brother." Joe explained. "Your uncle". He clarified. He mouthed one word to Frank "sorry." Frank shook his head.

"Why does he look different from you, daddy?" Erica asked her father in an innocent, childlike tone. Joe looked horrified and he glanced at Frank. Frank didn't look as if he was offended by the comment.

Frank showed her a picture of their parents. He pointed at Fenton and said that's my father and then he pointed at Laura and said that's my mother.

Erica nodded and went over to Frank. "I'm sorry uncle Frank."

Frank dropped to his knees and hugged his niece. "that's fine, Erica."

Callie appeared with a tray and Erica's blue eyes lit up. "Mummy."

Callie started to cry thinking of her own kid. "Mummy, why are you crying?"

"Erica, Callie's not your..." Joe trailed off. He didn't know what to say. Frank didn't know what to say. Either.

Callie banged the tray on the coffee table and the coffee spilling over and soaking the cloth. "Erica. I'm not your mother." She snapped.

Erica started to cry. Callie shot an apologetic look towards Joe. Joe picked her up and rocked her. "Erica. Daddy's here. Okay. Settle down!"

Erica hugged her father. "I'm sorry. Daddy."

"Its okay. Erica. Mum is died. Meaning that she is no longer on this earth. She.."

Joe blinked back tears and hung his head. He knew it was a mistake to come here. His daughter can't remember faces. Callie's in emotional pain from losing her child's and Joe didn't want to be a burden on either one of them.

"I'm sorry Frank. Callie I'm going. She wants Vanessa but Vanessa's dead." Frank put his hand on his shoulder. "I understand Joe. Whatever it is, we're here."

"If it will help, I'll stay away from my niece. Joe." Callie offered after she calmed down.

Joe shook his head. "No Callie. You will stay here.I'm sorry about earlier. Erica doesn't..."

Callie hugged her future brother-in law as a silent apology. She didn't mean to take it out on Erica. As soon as he left, Frank confessed to Callie. "I can't believe another girl is taking care of Joe."

"Joe's a big boy but that doesn't mean he's replacing you. For some reason, Erica thinks I'm Vanessa. I can imagine why. Though. We're both blonde, so to my niece , we look alike."

One-and-a-half hours later, they arrived at their house and when Sofia went inside with Emily,Joe was getting Emily's stuff from the trunk when somebody placed a handkerchief over his mouth. Chloroform his mind supplied before his eyes closed. They secured Joe's wrists and legs with shackles. They blindfolded and gagged him and placed him in the trunk of the car. They drove three hours away when they arrived at a delapidated house, miles and miles away from human contact. This house had a lot of split- rail fences.

Joe was taken out of the trunk and taken to a small cabin. Ten minutes later,Joe woke up.

"You're finally awake" . A voice said.

"These are the rules you have to adhere. Number 1: you will speak only when you're spoken to. Number 2: you shall address us as master and mistress. Number 3:you will only eat once per day from 3:30 pm to 4:30pm. Number 4: you will be punished for your mistakes any way my wife and I see fit. Number 5: you shall complete your chores even if you're abused."

"If I don't adhere to these rules, then what?" Joe pressed.

"You won't get your nephew back" The man said. Joe stared wide- eyed at his confession.

"You didn't think Vanessa's death and your nephew's disappearance was not connected did you?"

Joe processed the information and he grew angrier by the second. He thought of the countless days and nights that Frank and Callie were reminiscing about their child. The sleeplesa nights...everything. "Tell me. What I have to do to get him back?" Joe questioned him.

"You have to follow the rules without delay and I'll think about releasing that filthy vermin"

Joe couldn't retaliate, not when they have his nephew in their clutches .He knew that he needed to make the sacrifice. "I'll do whatever you want, just let my nephew go. I'll do anything you want, just give him back to my brother. "

"You'll have to stay here for one month." the man commanded.

"Let me give my nephew over to my brother and I'll tell him that I'm on vacation. He needs to look after my daughter. Otherwise he'll look for me."

"You got yourself a deal" the man said. "I'm a reasonable person. I don't need the baby anymore." The man brought the baby and Goon 1 untied Joe and handed the baby over to him,Joe hugged his nephew tightly.

Joe exited the room and called Frank. He reassured Frank that everything was okay and asked Frank to pick him up and to bring a car seat. He told Frank about the baby and left out the details about Joe's "vacation".

Frank was teary- eyed at the news. Joe asked him, " Could you, Callie and Sofia look after my daughter. My vacation is one month."

Frank had a couple of choice words for Joe. They were quite profanic and hurtful in nature. Half an hour later, Frank embraced his nephew and glared at Joe. "Don't ever talk to me again. You're still the same temperamental, self-centered prick I have ever met."

"When you come from your vacation, you're not allowed to come anywhere near my family ever again. I don't want my son to grow up with someone as malevolent as you."

"Don't do this in front of your son, Frank" Joe warned him.

Frank agreed and he drove away. He couldn't wait to tell Callie about the turn of events. Joe turned to them and muttered, " "Take me as your prisoner, master" Joe muttered. Joe groaned as the man roughly pulled his hands behind his back and secured them tightly with twine. Joe's feet were also secured with twine. The twine only intensified as every second went passed. It was as if fiery daggers were stabbing his wrists. The twine was tied so tightly that it was cutting into Joe's flesh.

"Welcome to your worst nightmare. You mall call me Master."

Joe was pushed inside a dark, windowless cell and he stripped over a some steps and landed on the ground. The twine was pulled tightly and Joe groaned as it cut into his flesh. The man removed his blindfold and joe couldn't see. The place was in complete darkness. He couldn't even see any part of his body. Joe twisted his ankle when he came in and that hurt like hell.
