The girls were tied with their hands behind their back and tied cross-legged. The kids were sitting on the floor. "What do you want with us? " Callie and Vanessa snapped at her captors. They were terrified but they were still going to protect their children; they weren't helpless. "Leave the kids alone. If you have to terrorize anyone, terrorize me. Don't let them watch."

The people advanced closer and shouted in their faces when ben started to cry. "Shut up." Emil screamed in his face. Ben burst into tears. Erica held her cousin's hand. "You're a bad man. Leave my cousin alone. She whispered in his ear. "Don't worry. I'll protect you."

Despite the situation, Vanessa felt a surge of pride for Erica for standing her ground. S

"Leave the kids alone. They're just babies." Vanessa demanded, Emil grabbed her hair and pulled hard.

Erica covered her cousin's eyes.

Frank and Joe arrived at the place. As soon as they entered the house, their blood boiled as they heard familiar cries. Joe recognised the voice and his blood boiled.

They made their way to the house and their blood boiled as Vanessa and Callie were tied together on chairs facing each other.

"Glad of you to join us." Emil stated, his tone had a hint of sarcasm.

"Let my family go."

"You're in no position to make demands." Emil reminded them as he had all the cards in his hands.

He turned around and fired at Callie multiple times. Callie flinched every time and struggled out of her bonds but nothing came out of it. The gun was empty. It was a trick.

Callie cried and Frank clenched his fists.

"Leave them alone, Emil. I won't let you hurt my family."

"Please let Vanessa and Callie take our kids away. Joe pleaded with him.

Okay, fine. The kids have served their purposes but Callie will stay here. Joe untied Vanessa and she grabbed the kids and ran.

"Frank, lets make the game more interesting shall we?"

"Choose which one gets to live. Callie or Joe. The one you choose gets to live while the other gets hurt" Emil had an evil glint in his eyes.

"What kind of a choice is that?" Frank demanded. "You can't expect me to choose between either of them."

"If you don't make a choice, I'll put a bullet through their heads." Emil smirked. After five minutes, he was annoyed. "You're testing my patience, Frank."

"What happens if I make a choice?" Frank inquired.

"I won't hurt them. You have my word."

"Frank, don't listen to him." Joe yelled. "He won't keep his word." Emil ignored him and cocked a gun at Callie's head and she flinched. "This one is loaded."

"Stop! I'll choose." Frank interjected.

"I'm glad you came to your senses. Whose it going to be, Frank. Callie or Joe."

How could Frank chose between the two people he valued the most in the world. If he choose one, the other would be hurt. Whatever I choose, Erica would grow up without her father and Ben would grow up without his mother. He didn't want to make the choice but he couldn't take the chance. He glanced at Joe who was trying his best to reassure Frank.

"I choose... Callie." Frank said. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw the heartbroken expression flashed across Joe's features for a brief second. Joe,I'm so sorry. Little brother.

Emil cocked his gun at Joe and fired at his leg. The bullet lodged deep into his leg.

"Ahhh!" Joe crumpled to the floor holding his leg in pain.

"Joe,no." Frank yelled. He wanted to run to him but couldn't as Callie was also there.

"I told you it was loaded." Emil said, smirking. Then he shot Callie in the chest and she dropped to her knees.

"You said you wouldn't hurt any of them if I choose. You gave me your word." Frank yelled, his voice almost breaking. This was all my fault. Joe and Callie were hurt because of me. Frank thought sadly.

"My word means nothing, Frank. Giving someone my word makes me weak. Like my nephews."

"They will die if I don't get them to a hospital." Frank begged, on the verge of tears.

"How is that my problem?" Emil asked, smirking at Frank.

Frank let out a frustrated sigh. My brother and wife could be dying and this psycho man won't let me save them.

"Let me check Callie's pulse and check on my brother. " Frank begged him.

" only one person. That's the condition." Emil replied.

"Please let me check Callie's pulse. " Frank begged. Callie's bullet wound was fatal. Joe's wasn't.

"Very well" Emil nodded. "You can check her pulse in thirty minutes."

Frank was shocked. It will be too late. Every minute felt like torture, every minute felt as if a piece of Frank's soul was been ripped away and trampled like a rose on the ground. He looked at his watch and counted the seconds. In thirty minutes' time, Frank frantically ran over to her and check her pulse. He couldn't find any. She was dead.

"No, no. Please no..." Frank started to cry. He staggered to his knees. He couldn't lose his brother as well. So he rushed over to Joe. "Joe,are you alright?"

"Please. Frank. Help me. The bullet is lodged inside my leg."

"I'm here Joe. I'm here." Frank reassured his brother holding his hand. Frank wanted to explain about his choices but he knew that Joe needs medical attention and now wasn't the time to discuss anything. He wasn't looking forward to that dreaded conversation which plagued his mind. Nor his wife's funeral. The paramedics were called and Joe was whisked away to the hospital. Frank was riding with them lost in thought.

Hope you like this chapter. This is just a suggestion, would you prefer if Frank gets kidnapped? Or both. Let me know
