Hey there, well let me first apologize for the horribly long wait, I never knew time could fly so fast like I was in shock when I saw the last date I updated, but here's an new chapter for those who still follow the story, I want to thank The-crazy-lone-wolf77 for his tips and ideas to improve the story And a special thanks to Saibotvapor (Eneran) for letting me use their OC's .

Chapter 7: I've had enough

Humphrey's POV

"Ugh what happened" I said as I started waking up not remembering what happened.

"Where is Fay!" I heard someone behind me say which I recognized as McCabe.

As soon as I heard his voice I scurried to the back of the den with my tail between my legs as he slowly approached me, being too scared to respond at all, he was about to claw my muzzle when Andy jumped between us to stop him in time.

"Easy McCabe don't let your anger get the best of you" Andy said holding back McCabe's paw.

"Again, where is Fay!" he shouted at me his muzzle less than an inch away from mine.

"F-Fay got t-t…taken!" I shouted back which wasn't the best thing to do.

"You're dead" he said calmly as he grabbed my neck and slowly started inserting his claws in my neck, I didn't struggle as I knew it wouldn't help at all, I was gasping for breath as he squeezed harder and harder.

"Enough!" Andy pushed McCabe off me with all his force as I fell to the ground gasping for air and McCabe landing with a hard thud on the ground a few paw steps away.

"Get up" He came next to me and helped me back on my paws standing between me and McCabe

"T-thank you" I said and continued "I know how you feel McCabe, I'm sorry but we got overrun by other wolves and they took Fay…"

"Then why did you leave her behind!" he shouted as he started growling.

"Fay told me to…" I said with my head down, I heard McCabe stop growling.

"The longer we wait the smaller the chance we'll find her alive so get up and lead us back" McCabe commanded; walking towards the den entrance.

I followed and walked outside with Andy behind me, I walked past McCabe and headed to the direction were we got surrounded , I started picking up my pace when we passed the point of arrival, I simply followed the scent and I'm sure McCabe and Andy caught up on the scent as they increased their pace also.

"Slow down, we're very close" McCabe demanded as we all slowed down to a slow walking pace.

We saw a clearance in the distance with several wolves, McCabe and Andy looked at me and I nodded letting them know those were the wolfnappers, as we hid behind a bush to not get spotted.

"So, what's the plan" Andy asked.

"I'll distract them while you get Fay" McCabe said commanding Andy.

"And what about me" I asked hesitantly.

"You stay here! You caused me enough trouble already" McCabe growled softly at me.

And with that said they both left and left me behind; I could run away and go home...
they would be gone for a while which would give me plenty of time to get away, get a big head start.

But if he caught up with me he would definitely injure me or kill me. I miss Kate dearly and I can't imagine how horrible she must feel right now, blaming herself for all of it…

I was waiting for quite a while when I suddenly heard a lot of noise in the distance, I decided to check what was going on and saw McCabe surrounded by several wolves but I didn't see Andy anywhere.

"Do I go and help or do I stay here!" I said thinking trying to decide, McCabe told me to stay but there were a bunch of wolves, I'll go help it's probably best. With that said I started running towards McCabe.

McCabe's POV

"What are you doing here stranger, leave before we have no choice but to kill you!" A black furred wolf with yellow eyes said.

"Hah… show me what you've got!" They all started growling, as I went into a defensive stance and prepared to have some fun at last.

"Get him!" the black furred wolf said.

As the first wolf approached I ran head on against him, as he stumbled back I noticed something to my left and quickly jumped back to see a failed pounce, I quickly pushed forward and rammed into his side making him fall on his side gasping for air as the first wolf recovered and pounced at me, I quickly side stepped to my left and was going to cut his side but got rammed into my left side and fell to the ground hard catching my breath.

"BACK OFF" I heard faintly and saw a grey blur rush past me onto the third wolf that had rammed me in my side.

I quickly got on my paws and saw that idiotic omega trying to take on an alpha only to get pinned to the ground, great now I have to save his life also, I'd let them kill him if I didn't need him.
Before the wolf could hurt him I quickly pounced on him and slashed his neck with my claws as he fell on top of the omega dead, the other two came sprinting my way with their claws out.

"Get behind me omega before I kill you myself!" I shouted as I prepared to pounce but was caught by surprise when I looked back for a split second and saw the black wolf coming from behind, I quickly pounced on the omega as the black wolf landed on my back clawing and biting.

I suddenly felt the omega kick us up in the air, as we collided with the ground me landing on top of the black wolf, I took the opportunity to turn around and pin him, I landed a blow against his muzzle and neck and bit down hard on his front right leg breaking it, I quickly turned around in time to see one of the other two pounce, I quickly side stepped and slashed his side making a deep cut, I focused my attention to the last wolf pouncing on him but he side stepped it and tried to ram me on the side but I countered by pouncing on him mid run and grabbing him by his scruff with my teeth, using my momentum to swing him hard, head first against the ground knocking him out as I looked back just in time to see the wolf I slashed on his side trying to make a run for it so I quickly ran after him and pounced on him biting down on his neck and breaking it, I turned back and walked towards the Black wolf who simply sat on the ground grunting and growling in pain.

"Any last words before I end you and your pathetic friend's life" I said as I pounced on him and pinned him to the ground by putting pressure on his neck with my paw.

"I'll see you in hell!" I was about to press down but was stopped when I heard growling next to me.

Humphrey's POV

"STOP IT McCabe!" I said getting into a defensive stance and growling, I won't lie I'm scared as hell but I don't care, I'm tired of the fighting and killing McCabe is doing.

"This bastard was about to kill you and would have if it wasn't for me! Maybe I should let him go and let him kill you anyways because if not, I'm close to doing it myself by now!" he shouted back, I stopped growling and looked into his eyes after a few moments of staring we both heard a howl which sounded like Andy's which meant it was time to go as the mission was completed.

"There it's over! You don't have to kill them" I was playing with fire and sooner or later I was going to get burnt but I didn't care.

"Give me ONE good reason not to kill them!" the death glare he was giving me sent shills up my spine.

"I…I believe EVERY wolf deserves a SECOND chance! Even these two!" I know trying to reason with McCabe wouldn't help but I simply can't let him kill these two without trying.

He looked at the wolf and started pressing down onto his neck again making him struggle as he tried to breathe but couldn't.

"If it wasn't for this stupid OMEGA you'd be IN HELL BY NOW!" McCabe shouted and he pulled back and started to walk towards the direction we came from. I started to follow McCabe when I heard the wolf try to say something.

"T…T-that a…atti…tude will g-g-get you k…killed" he said stuttering and breathing heavily. I stopped walking and turned to face him.

"I'd rather die trying to do what I know is right than living and knowing I didn't do the right thing" I said getting back up and starting to walk away.

"Wait!" he shouted

"What?" I asked turning to face him again.

"My name's Mozart, what's your name?" he asked starting to limp towards me making me nervous as he might try something with McCabe gone now.

"My name's Humphrey" I said as he stopped in front of me, grunting several times in pain.

"Thank you" he said extending his one good paw which I shook briefly before turning around and walking towards the pre-arranged meeting spot.

As I was walking I started to gag remembering I was covered in blood from the wolf that McCabe killed on top of me, McCabe had deep cuts on his back and was bleeding a lot since he left behind a small trail of blood drops, he may be evil but beneath all of that hate is a different wolf, he saved my life and let that other wolf live while he could have easily killed them both without me being able to stop him, but he didn't and that's what really surprised me, I didn't expect him to let them live. I arrived at the location and saw Fay crying into McCabe's embrace with Andy sitting off to the side as McCabe tried to calm down Fay.

"McCabe…" I started but was silenced when he growled towards me.

"Don't say a word or I will end your life right this moment" he said letting go of Fay who was now calmed down enough, and walked towards the general direction of the den.

We all started to follow McCabe towards the den and noticed it was getting dark as the sun was lowering behind the mountains, after walking for a while we arrived at the den, I sat down next to Andy as McCabe turned to face us.

"Andy, me and Fay will go hunt and look for water, scan the area and make sure we are the only ones around…and YOU!" He said walking up to me and unsheathing his claws and putting them against my throat.

"If you dare to even set a paw outside this den make sure I don't find you because if I do I will make sure to make you regret it with every fiber in your tiny body, I don't want to hear anything coming out of your muzzle for the rest of this trip or I will make sure you can't speak anymore! UNDERSTOOD!" he shouted into my ear making me take a few steps back in pain, I nodded and walked inside not wanting to try my luck any further for today.

I lied down at the back of the den facing the den wall, hearing them walk away I decided it was best to rest as I was pretty tired, the horrible stench of blood on me made it harder to get rest but there's nothing I can do about it, maybe dying isn't that bad after all, I'm simply tired of today's events and I want to go home be with Kate, I never asked for any of this! Why me! What did I do to deserve this!

"WHY ME!" I shouted one last time before crying myself to sleep.

Fay's POV

I was sitting outside the den as McCabe instructed me to, keeping an eye on Humphrey as I heard sobbing coming from inside, I felt bad for him but there's nothing I can do, I know if I tried to talk McCabe out of this he'll only lose his temper and would react it off onto Humphrey, so what could I do? I could talk with Andy. As I thought that I saw Andy coming out through the bushes and sitting down next to me.

"Everything's clear, we won't get spooked during our sleep" Andy said smiling.

"Andy, I need to talk to you" I said turning to face him directly.

"Is this about McCabe?" he said making a frown.

"Yes, but not only him" I said nodding.

"I know Fay, he's been on edge a lot lately" Andy said.

"It's not only that Andy, I just don't get what we're doing and you know it's not right what we're doing…do you even know why McCabe is that obsessed with getting Humphrey to my Father?" I said softly.

"Listen Fay I know what we're doing isn't right but McCabe is more than a brother to me, he was the one wolf that was always by my side when I needed it, when I was sad, angry, in trouble, lost…you name it, he was there for me every single time to support me and I have been there for him also whenever he needed someone to vent on, so yes it's not right but if that's what McCabe wants then so be it, but that doesn't mean I'm letting McCabe use that omega as his punching bag" he said looking at me with a faint smile.

"Thank you Andy, but still I don't agree on any of this" I sighed looking at Andy.

"Fay its best you talk with McCabe…you're his mate, you two used to be so close, what happened to that?"

"I really don't know…it's this matter that makes me rethink of the way I used to look at and feel of McCabe" I said looking down at the ground saddened.

"Fay, don't let this and McCabe's behavior change your feelings towards him, he is still that fun, loving wolf that you first started dating…he's having a hard time and he needs you now more than ever" Andy said placing his paw on my shoulder.

"I'll go search for water, I'm sure McCabe must be done hunting by now, talk with him Fay I'm sure he'll listen to you" with that said Andy got up and started walking away.

So I decided to go inside the den and get some rest, I saw Humphrey lying in the back in a deep sleep, he looks cute while sleeping except for his currently blood stained fur, he's going to have a lot of trouble getting that out of his fur. I lied down in the middle of the den and rested my head on top of my paws.

Lately I don't know what to expect of McCabe anymore, we used to be very close, do everything together but as time went on he started to change, I never knew why, until I once saw him head to my father. I decided to investigate, so whenever McCabe wasn't with me I'd stay in my father's den or close to, I discovered he'd visit him at least once a day, but when I tried to ask McCabe why he goes to visit my dad so often he'd say it's for border patrol related stuff, but I knew there was more to it.

Several days ago he came up to me saying he had to go to the Western pack in name of my father to talk with the pack leaders, and said he would be gone for a few days together with Andy but he wouldn't let me come along. I snapped out of my thoughts when I heard some distant sounds.

I looked up and saw McCabe dragging a large deer; he dragged it into the den off to the side and came to sit next to me. I sat up and gave him a quick kiss on his cheek which made him give me a happy smile.

"Good job, my love" I said praising him on his hunt.

"Fay…I" he started but I cut him off.

"We'll discuss this matter tomorrow after you had your bath" I said waving my paw in front of my nose cause of the blood stench coming off his fur.

"Lie down, do your wounds hurt" I said making him lie down and started cleaning his wounds.

"Not anymore" he said looking back at me with a faint smile

We both looked up at the den entrance and saw Andy standing there with smug smile.

"Looks like I came back at the wrong time" he said giving a small chuckle and starting to walk back out.

"Andy don't be so silly and get back in here" I said smiling with McCabe playfully whining.

"Fine but don't add this to the list of moments I've ruined so far" he said walking back in and sitting down a few paw steps away from us.

"All done" I said getting off McCabe as I was done cleaning his wounds.

I yawned letting them know I was ready to sleep; I lied down and curled into a ball with McCabe curling himself around me to keep me warm, I gave him another quick kiss on the lips.

"I'll stay up and keep watch, goodnight you two" Andy said getting up and lying down near the entrance of the den.

"Goodnight Andy" Me and McCabe said, I yawned one last time and drifted off to sleep hoping tomorrow will be better.

That was it! I hope you liked it. Also I have to mention that I force myself to work on my stories several hours a day to make sure you, my readers don't have to wait decades for a new chapter.
