Hmm, There IS A Light at the End of the Tunnel
Recap: Bella's POV: Adrian's shock wore off and he wrapped his arms around my waist and deepened our kiss.
Chapter 22: All Joking Aside…
Bella's POV:
"Knock it off Ivashkov," a female voice boomed as the door slammed open. It was the queen's boyfriend, Christian. I could feel my face heat up at being caught. I had planned to tell Adrian how I feel. Now with the company I will not be doing that.
"For a pyro I didn't think you were so frigid!" Adrian yelled at him without taking his eyes off me or letting me go.
"Not to take side but that was some serious shade," Rose laughed as she came in with Lissa.
"Shut up Hathaway," Christian shouted at her.
"Make me sparky," she teased with a come at me motion.
"You two really need to calm down. Find something or someone else to focus this energy on," Lissa said. Rose and Christian both turned towards us with smirks on their faces.
"Roza, don't even think about bothering Ms. Swan. She just got out of the med center," Dimitri scolded before she did anything.
"Comrade!" Rose whined. "You never let me have any fun."
"He never mentioned Adrian," Christian sing-songed.
"Oh! Good point," she said.
"In a minute Rose, I would like to talk to Adrian privately," Lissa said and gestured for my rock to leave with her.
"Will you be alright Bella?" Adrian asked me.
"As long as you come back to me, I think I can manage," I whispered.
"If you are sure," he said and kissed my temple before spinning me around and out of his arms. He had already walked away before he could see that the spin was a bad idea. Nausea swept over me and I clenched my eyes shut and ran a hand through my hair until it passed.
"Are you alright Ms. Swan?" Dimitri asked in concern and walked to my side.
"Sure sure," I said and waved him off as the lingering nausea left me. "But while you and Rose are here, I need to let you both know that I am eternally grateful for you saving me from that nutcase. Those drug were strong and he was ready to sacrifice me." I shuddered as I remembered the crazy look in that man's cold eyes. Who can sacrifice people like he did?
"No thanks necessary, ass kicking is literally what we are trained to do, right comrade?" Rose said and elbowed Dimitri as she joined him with me.
"I need to get some of that training," I said. "I would like to be able to do more than be the damsel in the fairytale."
"We can make the time to train you Ms. Swan," Dimitri offered.
"That would be great! And feel free to call me Bella," I told him.
"Be prepared to run, right Rose?" Lissa teased as she came back over with Adrian.
"You are not still complaining about that are you Roza?" Dimitri chuckled at her.
"No," she denied.
"That's a lie. All you do is complain about running," Christian butted in.
"I do not! Especially not to you Pyro," Rose fumed.
"You don't have to complain to me, the walls have ears Hathaway," Christian teased her.
"Roza, here I was going to suggest we started taking early morning runs together," Dimitri said.
"Hell no!" She exclaimed and everyone laughed at her pout. Adrian hugged me from behind which made me jump for a moment but then I relaxed.
"When would you like to start training Ms. Bella," Dimitri asked. "We can start next week if you are feeling up to it."
"I would like to start today if possible," I told him.
"You just left the med center today," Lissa pointed out. "Don't you think you should take it easy?"
"No. I want to get stronger now. The enemy isn't going to wait while I recover so why should I? I am not on vacation." I said.
"Adrian, can you talk some sense into her?" Christian said in a voice that was supposed to have been too quiet for me to hear.
"No, Adrian cannot talk some sense into me. This is my body. I know my limits. I am in charge of myself. No one else," I ranted and pulled out of Adrian's arms to look at this group as a whole. "So if you are serious about helping me train, I will meet you at the gym at five o'clock and I only want people there who are going to support me," I then turned and walked away. I don't care if I am making a bad impression or overreacting. I need this. I am tired of putting people in danger because I can't take care of myself like I should be able to.
"So, where are you going little Swan?" Adrian asked me. I jumped and came to a stop because I hadn't even realized he had been following me. Which is another point as to why I should start training. I turned to face him and I know he saw the unshed tears in my eyes.
"I don't know. I just know that I can't sit still. I can't. I just. I need to be able to do something. Get better. Anything. I can't just sit around and wait on others to take care of me," I ranted without taking a breath. I could see concern color Adrian's face.
"Bella," he said and his voice sounded odd. Like it was coming from far away. Then a loud ringing filled my ears. I grabbed my head to, I don't even know.
"I…Help," was the last thing I said before black spots took over and the ringing in my ears became to much.
Charlie's POV:
"Bella hates me," I said to the two adults in the room with me.
"She is a teenager Charlie. If she didn't hate you then I would worry," Abe said.
"But that is the thing. Bella has never acted out, broken a rule, or back-talked a day in her eighteen years of life," I ran a hand through my hair. Bells is rubbing off on me. "Could it be the large amount of magic that was used to hide her true nature? Could it have affected her personality? I mean the magic is so infused into her physical features that her natural eye and hair color have yet to return."
"Or it could be that she is growing up Charlie," said a new voice. Abe, Janine, and I looked to the doors and I could not believe who I saw. I didn't think she would come.
Adrian's POV:
"I… Help," was the last thing Bella said before she passed out from her panic attack. I caught her and swept her tiny body in my arms. Okay, med center or back to her father? Which is the lesser of two evils? I made the decision quickly and began walking towards my destination. I pushed open the double doors with ease. I set her down gently on a chaise lounge and held my hands up in defense.
"I didn't do it!" I said as four set of eyes were on me and four auras so strong and angry that I could hardly handle it. But I wasn't leaving Bella's side. Not for anything. Even if it meant that I have to deal with this situation. I will for her. I mean she finally succumbed to our attraction.
(AN: I hope you enjoyed this chapter. It is only going to get crazier from here! Disclaimer: I don't own Twilight or Vampire Academy, just this crossover plot.)
