Day 10: Tiny Tiger

You know what I just realized looking over my picks for my favorite first bosses? The Crash Bandicoot series is one of two franchises that meet the three boss per franchise limit. That, in my opinion, shows you just how great the first bosses in this series are. The only first boss in the series that I can say legitimately sucks is Papu Papu from the first game, but I'll let it slide since that was the very first Crash Bandicoot game.

Anyway, it's time to talk about today's first boss: Tiny Tiger from Crash Bandicoot Warped.

To keep in line with the game's theme of time travel, you fight Tiny in a gladiator arena in Ancient Rome, and boy does it play out like a gladiator match. There's an audience of people ready to cheer when Crash dies and boo when he hits Tiny, one of Tiny's attacks involves summoning a hoard of lions to come and devour you, and just the concept of fighting off a fearsome beast like Tiny is typical for a gladiator battle.

Onto the fight itself. Tiny will start jumping around the arena in an attempt to crush you, and he'll eventually try and stab you by doing a downward thrust with his trident. Doing so will cause him to get stuck in the colosseum floor, and that's your time to attack.

After dealing damage to him, that's when the previously mentioned lion hoard is called out. The lions come out fast and there's a lot of them. You could frantically run and jump around the arena to try and avoid them, but I feel that the best strategy is to stay in one place and spin attack them as they get close to you. Just make sure you time your spins just right as, since this is the first boss, you don't have the Death Tornado Spin just yet.

Once the lions are gone, Tiny will go back to jumping around. Repeat the process two more times and the battle is won, allowing you to walk away with the Super Charged Body Slam.

The fight against Tiny Tiger in Warped is a step up from his battle in the previous game. It may be another simple and easy boss fight, but that doesn't make it any less fun.

So, with all of that said and done, let me ask you...are you not entertained?

(Lyra appears to end this day off)

Lyra: Dude are you quoting Gladiator right now?

Me; Yeah, I mean why not, this is a boss fight that takes place in a gladiator arena.

Lyra: I know, it just sounds clichéd

Me: Oh, who asked you?
