Introduction:
Total Drama Exiled is a fanfiction story that will take place during the summer vacation, one year after Total Drama Pahkitew Island. Most of the first generation cast finished high school one year earlier and their first year of college (only the ones that applied for college of course), while most of the second generation just finished high school and have sent their applications for college, starting their first semester after the summer vacation. Campers from Pahkitew Island are still in high school.
This is my first official Total Drama fanfiction I publish so it might be a bit rough around the edges. Do not hesitate to give me your review, feedback or even any tips though! I write this story for the community, for you guys, and love to hear your perspective on the story and any suggestions that will improve its quality along the way.
The Total Drama franchise is owned by Fresh Tv and its creators. This is a fictional sequel that takes place after Total Drama Pahkitew Island, season 5b of the franchise.
Total Drama Exiled episode 1: Returning cast-aways, part 1
Chris McLean was standing on a flimsy dock, handmade with shabby planks and rotten stilts, hold together in place by frayed rope and rusty nails. He was surrounded by a ghost-grey fog, levitating above the unclear water underneath him, so unclear that even the stilts of the dock looked like they have been cut off instead of fading away, into the infinite looking deep lake.
In the background was the skyline of an uneven landscaped island, with sharp dark grey cliffs piercing from the bottom of the lake through the waters, in between the island and the dock the host was standing on which connected to it. The host was holding a shiny metal suitcase in one hand, while smiling at the camera, clearing his throat.
"Welcome back Total Drama Addicts! Your host with the most is back for a brand-new season of the hottest reality TV-show in television history!" The host began to walk on the wrinkled planks towards the end of the dock, creating a chilling squeaking sound every step he took. "After one sunken island and another one having... um… mechanical difficulties…", Chris explained, air quoting the last part, "We came up with an even more thrilling and exciting place for this season to take place at. An island full of adventure and mysteries. That is both, breathtaking, as it is spine-chilling. Chris pointed at the camera. "I welcome you, the viewer, and the campers… back to... Boney Island!" As Chris raised his arms, the camera zoomed out, showing the iconic skull-shaped cliff, characterizing the island.
"So put your seatbelts on and a clean pair of undies, because this is…", as Chris continues, he raised his arms up even more, while the camera zoomed further back out. "Total, Drama, Exiled!"
The camera is fixated underneath the dock, focusing on the thick milky fog that is slowly hovering above lake Wawanakwa, capturing the low-pitched whoosh sound it made, before pedestalling upwards, capturing Chris who was standing at the far end of the dock. "Already then, let's meet the cast we have put together for this season, shall we? This season's cast will consist out of 18 former contestants, mixed from all the past seasons to this date! There are former finalists, and there are former losers. Some of them were All Stars worthy, while others were definitely not!"
The loud sound of a foghorn can be heard in the background, interrupting the narcissistic host. Chris hold one of his hands against his forehead, narrowing his eyes at the direction the noise came from. He struggled to find anything through the fog, making the area look more like an ashy-white winter wonderland than a blue sapphire-colored lake it's supposed to be, until he sees a vague silhouette of a boat getting clearer as it came closer. The host smiled and turned back to the camera, pointing with his thumb at the boat. "Speaking of our cast, here they come now!"
The boat reached the dock's end and sailed slower right next to it. The bulkhead door of the boat stopped parallel across to the dock and Chris, ready to introduce the first contestant. Even know the boat stopped and had reached its destination, the boat was still barely visible due to the thick fog surrounding the island. The round turning wheel on the bulkhead door spins slowly to the right. The round turning wheel had turned orange from the rust, making it difficult to spin, releasing a chilling sound like scratching fingernails on an old-school chalkboard.
Suddenly, the squeaky noise transformed into a loud bang. The bulkhead door popped open, hitting the side of the boat, with such a force, almost blowing the hatch off its hinges. Chris, standing next to the door and startled by the unexpected noise, quickly regained his posture like nothing happened, before clearing his throat to introduce the first players of the new season. "One was a finalist, while the other was a survivalist. And together, they're probably the weirdest couple around. Please put your hands together for… Shawn and Jasmine!"
Two dark silhouettes, with one noticeably taller than the other, appeared from the fog. The two contestants indeed were Shawn and Jasmine, both wearing backpacks and holding each other's hand, while rubbing with their other hand's index finger inside their ear irritated.
Chris smiled at the pair, enjoying the pain they were in. "Welcome back competitors!" he welcomed them.
"Dude, you know, you could've warned us about the noise the door would made. I think I might need hearing aid after this show," said Shawn, removing his finger out of his ear and wiping it off on his orange bodywarmer.
"Why? Don't you like to start the season off with a bang?" the host asked rhetorically, laughing at his own pun.
While the conspiracist frowned confused at the host, Jasmine kept quit, taking in the island's grim appearance around her. "We're staying here…? It feels very… deserted and… quiet out here."
"You mean it gives us the creeps!" Shawn interrupted his girlfriend, also scanning the island around them.
Chris gave a small cynical smile. "Thank you, we knew this island would be a thrilling place to be! Now if you don't mind, please go stand over there at the beach," the host instructed, gesturing toward the beginning of the dock with his arm. "I will explain the rules of the season once everyone has arrived."
The squeaking sound of old wood can be heard again in the background as the two made their way over to the beach. "I'm not superstitious," the zombie survivalist whispered to the outback survivalist, "But you saw the human skull to, right…?"
"I'm afraid so…" Jasmine whispered back to him, making the two of them walk a bit uncomfortably towards the beach.
Back at the other side of the dock, the second boat already arrived just as fast the first one had left. The bulkhead door popped open again, but this time not as loud as before and a lot smoother. A male silhouette appeared from the white haze with a very distinguished inclined haircut, holding a drawstring bag on his shoulder.
Chris, waiting for the contestant to come closer, raised his hand. "It's time to introduce our first classic competitor. Returning this season, it's everyone's favorite delinquent… Duncan!" he introduced the lime-greened hair colored juvenile with a small cynic smile on his face.
Duncan marches in an angry matter straight towards the host, slamming his right fist in his left hand, not even noticing his surroundings. "Loveable? Want to see how lovable I've become!?" the delinquent shouted, grabbing the middle-aged host by his collar.
Chris gulped and lifted his hands, holding them in a defensive pose. "Woah! Easy, easy! No harming the host! Remember your contract." Chris said in a distressed and almost desperate way.
"You're just lucky there're camera's everywhere," the delinquent whispered, releasing the host's collar. "You know why I agreed to be back on this cruddy show again, don't test me." Duncan said while walking over the dock irritated, not needing any directions where to go.
Chris fixed his collar and hair, turned messy by the sudden 'warm welcome', before introducing the fourth camper who already had arrived, wearing a black duffel bag around his shoulder. "Next up, he thought he was large and in charge last time but got eliminated for not sticking to his own code… Brick everyone!"
"Brick McArthur, reporting for duty, sir!" the cadet saluted.
"Glad you returned back to the show, soldier!" Chris saluted back, in a mockery way.
Brick lowered his arm, looking at the iconic massive skull, made from rock. "Um… Boney Island, right?"
"I love how perceptive you are," Chris replied in a snarky tone before he gestured the cadet toward the beach. "Thanks, I hear that a lot!" Brick replied, heading over to the other contestants, unaware of the host's snarky tone.
As Brick arrived on the beach, he noticed 3 other contestants already standing there. The cadet doesn't really know any of them, but saluted to them anyway, welcoming them. But instead of an expected salute back, Shawn and Jasmine looked at him confused, while Duncan looked the other way, avoiding eye contact.
Brick lowered his arm awkwardly and stood next to Duncan. Tough crowd. They also seem like strong competitors, he thought, before looking at Shawn. Well, except maybe for the nonchalant looking gentleman with the moss-colored beanie. Bur hey, who am I to judge?
The camera moved back to Chris, raising his hand. "Also, back in the game is Devon Joseph or better yet, known as big loveable mamma boy, DJ!" Chris pointed towards the boat covered by the fog, and from the clouds appeared a big and widely build guy with a D on his shirt, dragging 2 duffel bags, one black one, and one navy one.
DJ walked confidently with his eyes closed, smiling on the dock, maybe even a bit too self-assured. "Hah, this season will be in the bag. No death traps, no travelling, no curses…" before finishing his sentence, the big guy opened his eyes, dropping the bags on the wharf after noticing his surroundings. "B-B-Boney island!?" the brickhouse stuttered in a high pitch voice, before picking up his bags and turning back to the boat which already left. "Nah-ah, I am not staying at this hellhole."
Chris smiled, enjoying sudden change in behavior. "New contract, remember? I mean, you could try swimming back to the mainland," the host said, looking at the lake. "But if I'm not mistaken, you're not really that great of a swimmer." He replied while looking at DJ, tucking his thumbs into his armpits and imitating a chicken, referring to the cliff dive challenge on TDI.
DJ glared at the host, not enjoying the remark he made for one bit. He sighed and decided to walk over the squeaky wharf towards the island anyways. What other choice did he had? After he arrived at the beach, his glare quickly changed in a smile after seeing one of the others who already arrived before him.
"Duncan, my man!" The big guys walked over towards the lime green mohawked guy, putting his bags in the sand before high fiving him. "How's it been bro? Prison must've been rough."
Duncan accepted the high five with a smirk. "It wasn't that bad; I got this sweet new tat!" Duncan replied, rolling up his sleeve and revealing a tattoo of a skill with barber wire around it on his upper arm, covering up an old tattoo. "Besides, not the worst place I've ever been. That prize goes to this crappy show." The delinquent said in a snarky tone, making DJ and the others chuckle.
A loud ahem noise can be heard on the background, making the camera moves back towards the dock in a fast way. It was Chris, unaware of the conversation at the beach, but ready to get on with the show by introducing the next player. Afterall, there's a schedule that needs to be followed…
"Returning from Pahkitew Island with her dreadful voi… um… I mean… beautiful voice of course, Ella!"
Ella tiptoed her way out of the fog in a magical way while wearing a glittery backpack, preparing for a song. "Yes, I'm back, back at last! Now the only question remains is what is takes to be in the final last…" Suddenly she felt a hand covering up her mouth, when opening her eyes she came to the conclusion the hand belonged to Chris, cutting off her song.
Chris frowned at the bubblegum-colored princes and pointed out with his thumb. "Beach, that way." he said in a cold and blunt manner.
Ella's extravagancy changed into disappointment, before walking bow-headed towards the beach. There, Shawn and Jasmine smiled at her, but instead of smiling back, the normally excited princess, stood in between them silently. "Ella, what's wrong?" Jasmine asked, worried.
Ella lets out a deep sigh of disappointed. "Chris cut off the song I came up with on my journey to here. Just before the chorus, the best part." Ella replied, bowing even more.
Jasmines scratched the back of her neck, looking sympathetic at the prince's wannabe. "Well… we would love to hear… maybe," before Jasmine finished her sentence, she noticed Shawn next to her making hand gestures in a distressed tone behind Ella's back. Moving one of his hand near his throat, making a cut off gesture. Shawn knew his girlfriend was kindhearted and meant well, but he was not in the mood for a twenty-minute song with no other place to go.
Jasmine understood what Shawn was hinting at and tried to redirect her sentence. "maybe… um… maybe next time!" she said instead, putting her hand on the girl's shower trying to reassure her, while Shawn let go a sign of relief.
Back at the dock, a large, flat, and pointy object appeared first through the fog, before the person holding it. The object was colored like the inside of a pomegranate, with an orange wavy line going through the center, colored like the early morning sky at the time present. Chris took a step back, afraid of getting hit by the tall object, before introducing the 7th competitor of the season. "Also given another chance at the million, everybody's favorite surfer girl, Bridgette!"
Bridgette appeared through the luminous fog behind het surf plank, smiling while holding the plank next to her in one hand, and carrying a baby blue duffle bag in the other. "Hi Chris," she greeted the host while walking on the squeaky and neglected dock, when suddenly, she lost her balance, and tripped. "Oh crap!" The surf girl screamed, letting go of her duffle bag while bracing for impact, but to her surprise, something else broke her fall instead… When the blonde girl opened her eyes, it became clear. The surfboard she was carrying with her, hit the dock first, pierced straight through the weak planks of the shabby dock, now stuck.
"What have you done!?" Chris yelled at her while the blonde girl pulled on her surfboard with all the strength she had, trying to get it out of the hole it created through the dock. "You're here 5 seconds, and already are demolishing the place? Do you know how long it took for us to build this damn wharf?" he continued, not assisting any help. "2 whole days!"
Bridgette managed to pull her surfboard out of the hole. Luckily for her, the surfboard was unscratched, however, unlike the board, the dock had a big hole in that only became wider due to the forces she had to use to get her surfboard released from it. She noticed Chris glaring at her with his arms crossed, looking at the 3 feet wide hole in the dock. "Oops… I'm so sorry Chris!" Bridgette apologized awkwardly, picking up her duffle bag.
Chris sighs and rubs in his eyes, trying to keep it cool. "It's cool. At least this time it wasn't my head… Just go stand over there and try not to destroy anything else, okay?" the host said in an over-calmly voice, pointing at the beach with his thumb.
Bridgette walked ashamed across the dock in a quick pace. When she arrived, she saw one of her former teammates and friend DJ waving at her. The blonde girl let go of her duffle bag and wedged her surfboard in the sand before running up towards the loveable giant, hugging him, already forgetting about the incident happened earlier. "DJ! It's so good to see you! How are you?" she asked before releasing the huggable giant.
"Bridge! It's nice to see too as well!" the big guy welcomed her. "And I'm great, how about you?"
"I'm good!" Bridgette replied to DJ, smiling. But her smile disappeared fast, noticing the guy standing next to him. "Duncan." She said to him calmly, crossing her arms and looking uninterested at the pierced guy.
"Pfff, Bridgette." The delinquent answered in a coldhearted tone, also crossing his arms. "So, let me guess, we can expect party boy to arrive next?"
"Yeah, is Geoff coming back too?" DJ asked her in a lowkey exited voice.
Bridgette rubbed her neck in an awkward way and looked down at her sandals and the pearly white sand underneath them. "Actually… I don't know… it would be for me just as a surprise as for you guys."
At the dock, Chris and 2 interns bended over the big hole Bridgette accidentally created with her surfboard, taking inventory of the damage. "Hmm we're going to need a lot of duct tape and some driftwood, that's for sure…" a foghorn can be heard on the background, interrupting Chris. "Oh shoot, that's the next contestant, you two, get out of here! Out of the camera's range!" he commands the two interns, gesturing them to go away quickly with his arms.
As the interns run out of the picture, the next boat stopped near the dock, opening its bulkhead door. A girl with almost platinum hair, pale skin and wearing a big black sack over her shoulder entered the deck in an elegant way, almost as if she were levitating. Chris raised his arms. "Next contestant back on the show, it's animal friend and aura whisperer… Dawn!"
Dawn looked around her with a troubled look on her face, ignoring Chris's welcome. Chris frowned at her, moving his arm in front of her eyes. "Um… hello? Anyone in there?"
After almost half a minute of silence, Dawn turned towards Chris. "This island has a red aura hidden underneath it's normal dark grey aura…."
Chris signed. "Meaning?" he asked in an uninterested manner.
"Deep inside the island is not happy with our company and wished to be left untouched." the moonchild explained.
Chris sighed even harder, closing his eyes and facepalming himself. "Right… Please head towards the beach and stand with the others. And look out for the hole in…" before Chris finished his sentence, he opened his eyes, realizing the mysterious girl had already vanished…
Dawn walked up to the other contestants. "Greeting fellow victims of reality exploitation." she welcomed them before standing next to Brick. Some of the contestants like Bridgette and DJ waved back at her confused, while others like Duncan ignored her completely.
Brick on the other hand acted nervous next to Dawn, looking distressed around him. The moonchild noticed this but didn't respond to his strange behavior. Finally, Brick opened his mouth, but before a single word came flowing out of it, Dawn had beaten him to it.
"You don't need to apologize." She said out of the sudden, not making eye contacts with the cadet. "There was no way for you to know I was framed at the time. But your aura is telling me that you need the apology to be accepted to feel relieved and that you're sincere about it. So, because of that, I will accept your apology, even though it's not needed."
Brick looked flabbergasted at the pale girl. How in the world did she know he wanted to apologize for voting her off back in Revenge of the Island? He thought to himself. But after remembering it was Dawn, he was talking about, the soldier's confusion turned in a small smile instead. "Thanks Dawn."
The next boat had already arrived, and Chris was rubbing his head, still confused on how the mysterious girl could've disappeared so fast. He didn't even hear the dock squeaking, he thought to himself. After some thinking, he decided to let is go and introduce the next 'guest'. A caramel-colored suitcase was already visible, sticking out of the thick fog. "Over to our 9th competitor, who else could it have been, Trent of course!"
Trent appeared from the fog, wearing a grey backpack, and carrying his guitar case. He signed at the introduction Chris made. "Did you really made me the 9th competitor to arrive just because of the whole number 9 fiasco back in action?" he asked the host, frustrated.
Chris smiled and gestured towards the beach. "Yes, yes I did!" he replied, ignoring Trent's frown.
As Trent dodged the hole in the dock and walked over to the other contestants, he smiled and waved at them, before noticing Duncan standing in the right corner. Trent's smile turned into a glare to the delinquent, who ignored the musician completely. The raven-haired guy then moved next in between Ella and Bridgette. The two girls smiled at him, but instead of smiling back, the guy sighed and crossed his arms, ignoring the girls to glare at Duncan some more.
The 10th player arrived on the dock. His spiky ginger hair almost resembling flames and sluggish posture was too recognizable that even Chris didn't need to wait for the introduction before he walked clear from out the fog. "Back for more pain, challenge thrower and shark bait… Scott!"
As the freckled guy walked on the dock, he waved his right hand into the sky, wiping away the fog in front of his eyesight. "Shark bait, really? Please tell me you didn't mess with nuclear waste again?" he asked the host, not expecting any answers. "Also, Boney Island? Seriously? Is the show that broke?" he asked rhetorically, as he moved his feet, making the planks squeak on purpose.
Chris frowned at him, already irritated by his presence. But instead of complaining back, he took a deep breath of fresh air. "Thanks for your input. I sincerely don't get how you and Courtney broke up, you two are made for each other." He replied, smirking cynically at the redneck.
Scott rolled his eyes at the host and walked to the others. "Whatever, she's lucky I let her keep my shoelace."
Another boat arrived at the dock just seconds before Scott's boat took off. A very wide but vague silhouette is shown inside the fog. He finger-gunned one of his fingers at the host, remaining quiet. Chris smiled at the contestant and finger-gunned back at him. "Next up, 600 pounds of brainpower, Beverly! Or more commonly known as, B!"
B appeared from the fog, glaring at the host. Without saying a word, he sneaked around the big hole in the dock made by Bridgette, avoiding falling in. A loud squeaky noise can be heard on the background, louder than before, making Chris laugh. "Guess I was wrong, not just 600 pounds of brains."
B resumed his glare towards the host behind him, before continuing his walk to the beach. When there, he looked at each of the other contestants in complete silence, as if they were in a public library instead of a beach, making some of the other players looking confused at the smart guy.
B detected Scott and frowned at him. The dirt farmer noticed this and decided to frown back. But before one of them could say anything to one and another (most likely Scott), someone broke the silence instead.
"B, over here!" Dawn shouted excited. B smirked and walked over to the aura whisper. Dawn smirked back and hugged the big giant. "Welcome back my friend! Still purplish green I see!"
Scott looked from a distance at the two and rubbed his upper arm uncomfortably. Crud, the redneck thought to himself, afraid of the possibility the two would already team-up and go after him, knowing he was the reason behind both of their eliminations back in revenge.
Before the next contestant even walked outside the boat, Chris already started laughing to himself. "Oh, this is good! Prepare for some drama!" he began to laugh even louder, rubbing both his hands against each other in an evil manner. "Debuting in her 5th season, former CIT and future lawyer, Courtney!"
The brunette girl appeared from the fog and walked calmly over the dock closed-eyed, rolling her suitcase behind her not stopping for the host. Chris rubbed on the side of his head in confusion. "Um… hello?" The host asked, lightly irritated. "I wasn't done yet!" he shouted after her.
The former CIT walked straight with her head held high over the decaying wharf. She was not in the mood for Chris's comments and came with just one goal in her mind, winning, she thought on her way to the beach.
Courtney hadn't set one foot in the sand yet and already acknowledged the first person standing in the distance, Scott. The type-A girl sighed and rolled her eyes, walking faster towards the second person she acknowledged as if she was in a rush, avoiding eye-contact with her former crush.
"Bridgette! It's great to see you!" she greeted the surfer, hugging her.
Bridgette, a bit startled from the unexpected welcome, hugged the former CIT back. "It's great to see you too Courtney!"
During the hug, Courtney noticed in her eye-corner a boy discretely looking at her in the back. Great, Courtney thought to herself. Apparently not one, but two of her exes had returned for the show. Well form the upside, at least Gwen wasn't there with her.
Courtney released the blonde girl from her hug, smiling. But soon the smile disappeared in a frown as someone in the back shouted from behind. "What? No warm welcome for me princess?" Duncan said in a provoking manner, winking at her.
The brunette girl glared and crossed her arms. She turned her head, looking straight in front of her , avoiding any contact with what she referred to as 'an ogre'.
At the dock, Chris was standing arms crossed with a frown on his face looking at the next boat arriving. He expected more drama with the arrival of Courtney but instead, the type-A cold-shouldered him.
As the next boat arrived, Chris regains his posture, standing straight and smiled. Even know it didn't go his way last time, there are still plenty of contestants left to mock at, and besides, the show must go on!
A light blonde girl appeared wearing a cherry-colored cheerleader outfit and lipstick, putting her feet on the dock. The only question remained, which of the two former cheerleaders can it be? Chris cleared his throat. "Returning back from Pahkitew Island, the nicer and lesser half of 2, Samey!"
Sammy walked outside the fog wearing a purple satchel bag on her shoulder, letting out a high-pitched grunt. "Ugh, Sammy! It's Sammy! How many times do I…"
Chris interrupted the twin, raising his hands in a defensive way. "Whoa, are you sure you're the nicer half?" Chris asked rhetorically, smirking mischievous.
The girl in red gasped and calmed down immediately. "I… I…" she began to stutter, sounding anxious. "I didn't mean to sound rude, but…"
"Please go stand with the others on the beach, Samey." The host with the most interrupted her again, putting more emphasis on the last part of his sentence.
Sammy walked ashamed over the squeaky dock directed to the beach. Did she really sounded like her sister? she thought on her way to the others. Or was it just a list way for him to provoke her? After reaching the end of the dock, her wondering changed into excitement, seeing a tall familiar ex-teammate standing in the distance. "Jasmine!" The cheerleader shouted excited, running to the survivalist, embracing her. 'It's so good to see you again!"
"Sammy! Back at ya!" The Australian girl replied, bending over to embrace the much shorter girl back.
After Sammy let go of the hug, she noticed Shawn and Ella standing next to Jasmine. "Hey Shawn! Ella!" the cheerleader greeted them.
Shawn smiled at the nicer twin. "Hey Sammy, good to see you back," the zombie expert greeted her back, before crossing his arms and looking more serious. "Now let's just hope your selfish twisted twin sister won't return for another season. No offence by the way..." The former finalist ended his sentence in case he unaware offended her.
Sammy smiled at the conspiracist. "Definitely non taken! And don't worry, when I left this morning, she was still in bed sucking her thump! I'm sure she's not here."
With only 5 more contestants to be introduced, Chris was already standing in position again to introduce the 14th competitor of the season. A small guy appeared from out the gloom with brown middle-length hair almost covering up his ocean blue eyes, wearing a reddish backpack. Chris waited for the boy to come up closer before introducing him. "Ladies watch out! Because the Codemeister is back with nothing holding him back! That is of course, if any stalkers won't be participating this time around."
"Please tell me she isn't back!" Cody asked wide-eyed to the host, hoping the show spared him another season with Sierra again.
The host chuckled loudly. "I can reassure you; Sierra won't be returning for this season."
Cody let out a loud sigh of relief as if a big weight has been lifted off his shoulders, before Chris chipped in again. "But… If I call her now… I bet she will say yes If I ask…"
"Please don't!" The brunette boy interrupted in a high-pitched voice, just in time before the host could reached out his cellphone out of his pocket.
Chris laughed overexaggerated, putting an arm around him, a bit too firm for the short boy's scrawny posture. "Just messing with ya man. Now if you please, join the rest over there." The host informed him, pointing at the beginning of the dock.
"Wait, others have already arrived?" Cody asked in excitement, releasing himself from Chris's grip.
"yeah dude, you're one of the last…" before Chris finished his sentence, Cody was already sprinting over towards the beach, making the unstable dock shake a bit. His heart was beating like an angel preparing for takeoff. The geek reached the others and looked thrilled around him with high hope, which turned in disappointed really quick. The brunette boy sighed, bowing his head. She's not here, he thought to himself. Realizing the girl, he wished to expect, wasn't standing among the crowd…
Back at the dock, the bulkhead door of the next boat opened with a loud bang, almost as loud as the first boat that arrived earlier. But after closer inspection, this time the round turning wheel wasn´t as rusty as from the first boat. The contestant walking out the door put one of its pitch black-colored sneaker firmly on the planks, making the whole dock tremble that even Chris had to bend his knees to keep his balance. After the trembling had stopped, Chris was ready to introduce the next player. "Back from anger-management classes and ready to crush the competition, and the dock if she remains to be this careless…" Chris announced, saying the last part with a harsher tone, glaring at her, "Eva!"
Eva appeared from out the fog and walked over to Chris, dragging a midnight-blue colored gym back. She ignored Chris's introduction and instead, looked down at the dock. "What's with the hole?" The bodybuilder asked the host in a deep voice.
"I guess one of your fellow campmates already took its time to destroy our dock before you could." Chris said in a cold tone, crossing his arms.
The girl in blue stepped over the hole and walked calmly to the beach. The dock trembled even more with every slow step she took than before when Cody ran over it. While she reached the other contestants, she didn't say a word or made any eye-contact with them. Instead, she walked quietly to the far left of the row, putting down her bag. She then took out her wireless earbuds out and listened to some metal music in the background, staring in front of her arm crossed.
Most of the other players raised an eyebrow at her nonchalant behavior, but didn't thought much of it, except Bridgette, who glared at the gymnast, remembering her past encounter with the female bully. "Are you okay?" Courtney asked the surfer girl, noticing her glare towards Eva.
Bridgette sighs, still glaring. "I was."
Back on the dock, a pale girl holding two big black suitcases appears from the fog, already looking irritated. Chris smiled mischievous to her. He waited for this opportunity to make some more cruel puns he couldn't made at Courtney's arrival. "She's known for her harsh exterior, and she might be the only thing here that's even grimier than this island itself, Gwen!"
Gwen walked up to Chris and signed, looking at the morning sky while putting down her suitcases. "Let's get this over with. Which 'awesome' insults did you came up with to humiliate me this time? Boyfriend-stealer? The new-Heater? Or actually something creative for a change?"
The host glared at the goth in a despiteful way. "Why do you kids always have to ruin this show and my jokes?" he asked, rhetorically.
"Just doing my job, I guess." Gwen said uninterested, picking up her suitcases. "So, what way should I go?"
Chris glared even deeper at the goth. Without saying anything, he pointed at beach where the other campers already had gathered. Gwen walked towards the place and frowned. She noticed Trent and Duncan who awkwardly tried looking away from her. Gwen sighed. Great, she thought. When she looked further around, her eyes crossed Bridgette's and DJ's, who were waving at her, but also Courtney next to them, looking daggers at the pale girl. Gwen's frown turned even frownier and the goth made her way towards the far end of the row.
On her way, she walked past the other contestants cold-shouldered. Cody, who was waiting at the back, shimmied his way to the front of the row in excited, trying to get the loner's attention. "Gwen! What's up!" Cody said to her in a deeper and more masculine tone. "Great to see…" Gwen ignored the geek and continued walking straight towards the end of the row. Cody rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly. "Um… maybe another time when we're alone, right…"
On the dock, the second-last boat arrived. The bulkhead door of the boat popped opened and a diabolical laughter can be witnessed from within. Chris looked confused towards the noise but turned back to the camera, smiling, as usual. "She brings the crazy in… well… crazy, Izzy!"
Izzy jumped out of the fog instead of walking slowly. "Hey Chris!" she shouts in excited, before looking around her. "Oh my gosh, Boney Island! Yes! I always wanted to revisit the island. This place would be perfect for a horror film!" Izzy narrowed her eyes and stopped talking for a second, putting her thumb underneath her chin. "Hm, I wonder who would die first…"
Chris looked at the redhead confused. "Um… Right…" he replied, scratching his head before pointing to the beach. "Beach is that way where the others… "
Izzy didn't wait for the host to finish his sentence and was already sprinting to the other contestants. Once there, she waved over-excitedly while running to them, when suddenly, she tripped and fell faced down in the sand. The redhead raised her head, spitting sand out of her mouth, before getting up and resuming her sprint. "Hey guys, miss me!?" she greeted the others like nothing happened.
All the contestants were looked worrisome at the psychotic girl and cringing from her fall. Some wonder if she was okay, while others just thought the girl had a few screws loose.
Back at the dock, Chris sighed relieved. "Finally." The last boat of the season was on its way to the dock, in other words, the last contestant to be introduced was almost here, meaning Chris could finally get off this crappy build wharf and start explaining the rules of the game. Chris cleared his throat. "And last but not least, he would do anything to make it big in the world of showbiz," Chris smirked mischievously, but before he could finish his introducing, the last camper had already jumped on the dock, introducing himself.
"Topher here!" the host-wannabe introduced himself triumphantly while the camera zoomed in on his face. "Back on your screen and determined to…"
A loud ahem can be heard on the background from Chris, making the camera zoom back in on the host with the most's face. "Topher." Chris finished his introduction cold-toned and with a glare. "Remember our deal? Don't make me sent you back…"
The dirty blonde guy rubbed the back of his head awkwardly, smiling sheepishly. "Hehe, right… I… probably should join the rest… right?"
Chris nodded and Topher walked confident with his backpack over to the rest of the cast. As he arrived, he saw the four other returnees from his former season, Shawn, Jasmine, Samey, and Ella standing together in a group. He smiled, showing his pearly white teeth while he starts waving at them. The four looked at each other confused and around them, not sure if the wave was directed to them or the cameras. Topher lowered his arm in disappointed and decided to head the other way, standing next to Duncan.
With the arrival of the final contestant on the island, Chris walked off the dock and towards the other contestants. Some of the contestants were talking among each other, catching up with one and another while others stood there quietly doing their own thing. The host stood in front of the campers with a big grin on his face. "Welcome players!" he greeted the cast again joyfully, but this time in general. "I'm excited to start of this new season called Total Drama Exiled! Before we begin, I bet you all are thrilled to be back on the show and missed this nerve-wracking competition."
"Yeah, like toothache." Scott replied in a sarcastically cold tone, looking uninterested and cross armed at the host.
"Great, we're glad this show got renewed too!" Chris replied excited with his arms in the air, ignoring the negative remark from the redheaded farmer. "As some of you already noticed, this season will take place at Boney Island! For some of you familiar territory, and for others completely new. We have chosen this location not only because of its 'charming atmosphere' and adventurous appearance," the host smirked sarcastically, making some of the players roll their eyes at him, "But also because it's one of the few places you gang of teens haven't destroyed, yet."
"Um… we?" Jasmine asked the host in a raised tone, placing her hand on her hips and looking daggers at him.
Chris cleared his throat dodging the question. "Anyhow… the rules of the game remained the same! Two teams battling against each other in death-defying challenges. The winning team will be granted immunity, while the losing team must vote someone off at night during our elimination-ceremonies. When the show passed its halfway mark, the teams will be merged, meaning it's every dude for himself. Then, only the induvial winner of challenges will be granted immunity while everyone else is at risk for elimination. This process will repeat itself until one last dude…
"Ahem!" Bridgette cleared her throat very loudly, subtly hinting at the continually repeating of the word 'dude'.
"Or dudette," The host added to his explanation, understanding the hint. "Is left standing alive who will win that sweet, one, million, dollar, prize!" Chris announced excited, raising up his arms during the last part. "Excited?"
"Pfft, not really. Nothing new there." Duncan scoffed at the host, continuing with a yawn.
While Chris glared at the delinquent and his snarky comments, Bridgette raised her hand, interrupting the moment of silence. "Um, when are we visiting the cabins so I can put away my surfboard?" the blonde-girl asked the host politely.
"Yeah, carrying this guitar case all day already is killing me…" Trent replied in a mildly exhausted tone, switching arms, and rotating his stiff wrist he carried the case with before, producing a creaking sound like a crammed piece of paper.
Chris laughed hysterically at the contestants. The 18 players looked at the host raise-eyebrowed as a respond, not understanding what was so funny. "There are no cabins this season," the host announced, making some of the teens gasp. "After reconstructing the mess hall and the communal bathrooms there was just no more time left to also build two perfectly-finished cabins. Heck, we didn't even have enough time to build a functional contractually dock." The host explained, gesturing with his arm towards it. The camera moved over to the dock, showing the squeaky dock and a plank letting loose, plunging into the water, before focusing back on Chris and the beach.
"Also, with pain in our hearts, we had to say farewell to our iconic confession outhouse." The host said overdramatically, wiping of a fake tear. "But don't worry!" he regained himself quickly, already forgetting the outhouse. "We found a cave, which's a perfectly suited place where y'all can air out your dirty laundry, also known as the confession cave!"
Chris pointed over-excitedly at the entrance of the cave in the distance, marked with two lightened torches at either side. "So, who wants to be the first one using it this season?" The host asked while the contestants looked at each other unexcited, opposite of Chris.
[Confession 1, day 1, Eva]
The confession cave was a dimly lit dark place with only two torches lightning up the cave's rock wall, identical to the torches placed on the outside. Eva sat on a big flat chunk of rock that felt ice-cold, fitting the temperature and overall atmosphere of the place itself. The athletically build girl looked around her, inspecting the cave's inside. "Perfectly suited place?" the jockette questioned herself with the same words Chris used before, describing the cave. "It's literally a bunch of rocks lit by torches and a camera crammed in a gap in front of us." Eva described, crossing her arms and looking directly at the camera, showing no emotion.
[Confession 1, day 1, Jasmine]
Jasmine looked uneased around her, capturing every tight nook and cranny inside the cave. "You know, for a safe reality TV show this place looks like it could collapse in any second now!" the big Australian girl commented, unsettling herself even more, before she closed her eyes and took a deep breath while she started talking to herself. "Okay, easy Jess! It's just your claustrophobia talking to ya!" The giant said in a calmly tone, making herself feal more comfortable. "Anyway, I don't get what the big deal is about sleeping outside, which made some of the others gasp. Back at Pahkitew Island we had to build our shelter ourselves. Big whoop."
[Confession 1, day 1, Cody]
Just like the two girls before him, Cody was also looking at the interior of the cave around him. But unlike the other two reacting aversive to the place, he admired it instead. "You know, I actually prefer this place for the confessional over the outhouse back in island, or the tight restroom in world tour. It smells a lot more pleasant in here." The brunette boy took a deep breath. "Don't get me wrong, I still mis Owen though." The geek said, rubbing the back of his neck, smiling sheepishly at the camera.
"Now listen closely, I have an excited announcement to share." Chris smirked while holding something behind his back, raising suspicious between the campers. "Also returning this season… The McLean-branded invincibility statue!" he announced triumphantly, raising the wooden statue of himself in the air. "There're three of these masterpieces scattered around the island. Find one of these bad boys and your safe from elimination once receiving the majority of the votes during the elimination ceremony, sending someone else packing home."
Scott chuckled in disbelieve. "There're three this time?" the redneck asked for confirmation to the host, with Chris nodding at his question.
[Confession 1, day 1, Scott]
Scott laughed mischievous at the camera, cross-armed. "Piece, of, dirt. I bet I have found one in no time. After all, I am the one with the most experience in tracking them down," he said confident, straighten his posture. "Hmm, besides, I think I'm gonna need one now more than ever." the farm boy said with a thoughtful expression on his face, thinking about some of the other contestants returned this season…
Chris stowed away the invincibility statue in his back pocket and clamped his hands together. "Alright, now with that out of the way, it's time to inform the teams. First, I need two unofficial team captains. Any takers?"
"Me!" shouted one of the campers, stepping in front of the row. It was Courtney, standing straight with her hands on her hips, looking confidently direct into the host's eyes.
[Confession 1, day 1, Courtney]
Courtney sat confidently in front of the camera, still having her hands placed on her hips. "Obviously! Even know Chris said unofficial team captain, I would've led my team to victory anyway." The brunette girl claimed, closing her eyes while pointing at herself.
[Confession 1, day 1, Gwen]
Gwen chuckled. "Team captain? No thanks!" she said in a louder voice, holding her hands in front of her and shaking her head.
Chris smirked troublesome at the brunette girl. "Excellent, who wants to be the other?"
Most of the campers didn't desired to become team captain, even if it was unofficial. Most looked silently and uninterested at the host, while others were talking among themselves. Chris frowned at the silence and the fact no one stepped forward to take this chance, until one camper finally did and broke the silence, saluting at the host. "Sir, I nominate myself for the last spot as team captain," Brick said honorably, "Unless of course, someone else desires to fill out this spot…" he continued, weakening his salute, and looking thoughtful at the others, but with no respond.
Chris sighed, rubbing disappointed in his eyes. "No need to get all gentlemen. If anyone else wanted to become captain, he or she would've already let us know. Now please, step forward."
The cadet walked to Chris, standing left of him while Courtney stood on the right side of the host. The military guy rubbed his head in confused. "So… have the teams already been preselected?" he asked unsurely.
Chris sighed again and turned towards the soldier. "No, the teams aren't preselected. Otherwise, I wouldn't have asked for a team captain, would I?" The host replied, making Brick bow his head to the ground awkwardly.
"So, we have to pick our own teammates?" Courtney cut in excited, thinking she already had figured it out. "Yes! In that case the first person I choose is… Bridgette!"
The blonde girl smiled and walked up to Courtney but got stopped by Chris instead. "Whoa, hold your horses. I also didn't say you could pick out your teammates for yourself. Well, not entirely."
Sammy raised her hand politely. "But… how will be the teams be formed then?" the cheerleader asked curiously, raising an eyebrow at the host.
"Great question, Samey!" the middle-aged host replied, causing Sammy to frown at him for saying her name wrong again. "Throughout the first challenge of the season of course!" the host answered, making Courtney and the others still standing in the crowd moan. "Leave your bags and follow me!"
As Chris took off and the rest followed while complaining, Trent was still standing still on the beach. "Wait! You expect me to leave my expensive guitar at the beach where it can get wet and full of sand?" he shouted to the host, still holding his guitar case.
"Yes!" the host yelled nonchalantly from a distance.
"Okay then." The musician said in a calm tone, carefully placing down his guitar case in the sand, before running after the host and following the rest to their first challenge of the season…
