Day 26: Matthew Patel
One half of the marathon down, another half to go, and this is the part where the first bosses get really good. So let's start the second half of this Lent marathon with the first of Ramona's evil exes. This is Matthew Patel from Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game.
Matthew over here is stated to possess powers in levitation, pyrokinesis, and summoning demon hipster chicks, all of which are put on full display in his boss battle.
You simply need to beat up on Matthew enough times, whether it be by your fists or the bar stools surrounding the arena, until he is eventually defeated, but he's not going to go down without a fight.
Matthew will show you the powers he has by launching a short-range fire ball at you, surround himself in a pillar of light that hurts you if you touch it so you need to beat the hipster chicks that are surrounding to bring him out of hiding, summon two more demon hipster chicks to fight alongside him, jump from one side of the arena to the next to avoid taking damage, and you know punching, kicking, and blocking your attacks.
Just keep dodging his attacks and hitting Matthew hard and he'll eventually go down.
This is another easy and simple boss fight, in retrospect I probably should have put him a pit lower on the list, but I can forgive the lack of difficulty in the fight as Matthew is just straight up fun to fight, and he gives you a taste of what the other six exes has in store for you.
Oh, and one more thing...the music is awesome! Gotta love Anamanaguchi!
