The next morning the teens slept in. The previous days weighed heavily on all three of them. They decided once they woke up that they would cut their weekend short, and head on back to Riverdale. Veronica called Andre, piled all their things in the car and began the drive back.

Third Person's P.O.V.

The girl could see that the events of last night were still affecting the other two passengers. "I am sorry that our little lovers weekend was such a bust you guys." Her friends lifted their heads and gave her a small appreciative smile. But other than tha, nothing much was said. Veronica smiled back. "Hey at least Jones wasn't there to make the situation worse, right?" There was no malice in her tone. So they knew she was just trying to lighten the mood with a little humor.

Archie let out a laugh at that. "You could say that again. Imagine what he would have done if he had been there. Probably would have tried to take them all on by himself. Feeling the tension in the vehicle lessen, Archie threw his arms around the Ravenette and squeezed tightly. "Despite everything that happened. I got to say, I had fun."

The blonde shot him a look of doubt. "You know when our lives weren't being put in danger," the boy clarified." Bettys face contorted into a smile.

"Fair enough," She acquiesced. She glanced at Veronica, her smile turning softer. "Thanks again for inviting me Veronica. Really, I mean it." Veronica reached across and squeezed the blonds hand.

"What are friends for B?" She smiled at the blond. "If not to invite other friends to our own private vacation spots for a little weekend adventure." She turned to Archie. "And let us not forget about boyfriends." Veronica gave the boy a peck on the lips, and then relaxed back into her seat. "Life would be boring otherwise."

The other two friends smiled in agreement. "True that," they replied in unison. They shared a look, before turning their heads away. The rest of the drive was ridden in peaceful Silence. They all still needed rest, despite the fact they slept in that morning.

Time Skip

A couple hours later the town car passed the Riverdale sign. "Veronica noticed it first. "Did you guys want to stop at Pops and get something to eat?" All three of their stomachs growled at the suggestion, causing the trio to burst out laughing at their shared embarrassment.

"I could eat," Betty replied first. Archie nodded in response.

"Let's do it."

A couple minutes later, the car pulled into the famous choc-lit shops parking lot. Veronica climbed out first, giving herself time to stretch her legs. Archie and Betty followed soon after, and the trio headed up the staircase and passed through the doors to the diner. The girl headed up to the counter to order their food, while Archie and Betty went to sit down at their usual booth. Oddly enough, Jughead was not there. They had half expected to find him typing up something on his computer while he drank his coffee.

The reminder of the boy brought back the feelings of sadness Betty had about the whole situation regarding her ex. She shuddered at the thought, still not wanting to accept that he had broken up with her. Archie must have noticed her discomfort. Because the next thing she knew his arms were wrapping around her side in a comforting embrace.

The redhead guided her to their booth and sat down beside her. "Are you going to be okay, Betty?" She shook her head as tears started filling her eyes.

"I don't know," she answered honestly. She lifted her head to look at her friend. "Thinking about him and our relationship hurts. It feels like he is writing us off." A feeling of anger filled the blond. "He said we were a mistake." She shook her head once more. "How am I supposed to feel okay after that?" Archies just stares back, not knowing what to say or do to make her feel better.

"I don't know, Betty. I wish I could tell you that I had the perfect solution. That I knew just what to say or do to make you feel better. But I don't." The boy rubbed her shoulders, a sympathetic expression on his face. "I am sorry."

"It's okay Arch. I don't think there is anything anyone can say that would make me feel better right now." The blond proceeds to lay her head down on the table as the red head continues to rub her shoulders, drawing soothing circles with his fingers.

5 minutes later, Veronica appears next to pop. She places her food on the table on the opposite side, while the owner hands Archie and Betty their food. The man tells them to enjoy the food before walking back to the front counter. They eat in comfortable silence. Veronica can see the puffiness of her Blond friends eyes, but doesn't ask her about it. It's probably about Jughead, she surmises.

So that is the end of this chapter you guys. Sorry it was so short. I just did not want to leave you guys waiting any longer. Especially since I don't know when inspiration will strike me again. I am planning on writing more tomorrow. But as I always say, I don't want to make any promises.

Anyway, I hope you guys enjoy this chapter, have a good night, and i will see you next time. Later.
