Chapter 2

Oliver was taking down villain after villain with rapid kicks and punches, defeating one only for an earlier villain to get back up and rush back into the fight. Jiro and Yaoyorozu were fighting off their own attackers with weapons supplied by the latter.

And Kaminari was running around, screaming about how he was so close to dying and drawing the villains' attention left and right.

"Oliver, watch your left!" Yaoyorozu yelled as she swung her staff into a machete wielding villain's gut. Oliver complied, swinging around and chopping the neck of an attacker wielding a scythe, only to get caught by a whip carried by a woman in a bunny suit.

"You're mine!" she snapped before getting a sword handle to the face, courtesy of Jiro. "Thanks," Oliver said as he and Jiro jumped back to the rock wall, with Kaminari and Yaoyorozu.

"Kaminari, make yourself useful and fight these guys!" Jiro yelled as she slashed at a villain attacker.

"Didn't you remember training?! I can discharge electricity but I can't control where it goes, I'd only hurt you too!" Kaminari explained.

"Then you can zap them one at a time if you touch them, right?" Oliver asked.

"I...oh yeah," Kaminari said, as if having an epiphany.

"Idiot!" Jiro yelled before kicking Kaminari towards a giant masked villain.

"Hey, what's the big ide-oof!" Kaminari sputtered before he began zapping the giant villain. "Oh, hey, it's working, I'm super strong! Stand back you guys, I've got this!"

"Ugh, seriously?" Jiro groaned before turning to see one of the enemy attackers rushing in, his extended arm carrying a large boulder. "Let's see you try and electrocute solid rock, kid!"

Oliver quickly jumped up and shattered the boulder in the villain's arm, the enemy's bare fist swinging down and smacking Kaminari right in the head and catching himself in the electrocution.

Jumping down, he missed the sight of Yaoyorozu netting a third villain and sending him falling into the field of electricity as he rushed towards two more villains, attacking and taking them down with little difficulty. After that, Oliver would see Jiro utilizing some sort of speaker set on her legs, with her ear jacks plugged into them, incapacitating several villains at once as Kaminari stopped shocking the three villains from earlier.

"Oliver, keep them grouped so we can take out multiple at once!" Yaoyorozu yelled as she knocked out another enemy with the staff, before jumping and kicking two more down at once. Oliver quickly moved to a larger group of villains, before getting grabbed by one from behind. "You're mine, kid!" he growled before jumping up, still trapping Oliver in his grip.

"Oliver!" Jiro and Kaminari yelled, as Yaoyorozu could only look up in horror as the villain moved to drop and slam Oliver to the rocks.

"Shit..." Oliver whispered before taking a deep breath. A second later, he snapped his fingers, and both him and the villain were engulfed in a brief flash of white. When the light died down, the two had switched places, with Oliver on top of the villain.

"What the-" the hunter now turned prey cried before he was kicked in the back, propelled into the rocks at a terrifying speed before smashing into them, sending a few villains flying away and Kaminari tumbling from the blast wave. Oliver landed near his new classmates.

"OK, that was close," he sighed, looking to see Kaminari on the ground, staring up in awe, with Jiro, Yaoyorozu, and the remaining villains wide eyed as well. It was clear a quirk like his wasn't common, either that or none of them had seen something literally as flashy as that was. "D-don't stare like that, please..." he said.

"Oh, right!" Yaoyorozu said, before grabbing Jiro and Oliver, tackling them to the ground. "Took me a while to make this, but it's done!" Before Oliver could question what she meant, the back of her costume ripped apart as a giant white piece of cloth exploded out of her back, before landing on top of them.

"A blanket? The heck you tryna pull?" a villain said.

"You're looking at a hundred millimeters of insulation," Yaoyorozu said. "Go Kaminari!"

Kaminari smirked as he got up. "Badass..." he said, wiping the blood from his mouth and ignoring the blood on his nose. "Now I don't have to worry about hurting my friends! You guys are fried!"

He slammed his hands down, and the entire mountain was engulfed in bright yellow electricity, instantly electrocuting the several villains around them, both the ones standing and the ones who were just getting back up.

When everything died down, Oliver opened his eyes as he heard the quiet around them, barely able to process the sheer amount of zapping and screaming that happened seconds earlier. "Is it over?" he asked.

"I think so," Yaoyorozu's voice said. Looking up, he saw her face right above hers. Blushing, he quickly looked downwards, which was a mistake as he got a large eyeful of Yaoyorozu's bare chest right above him. Yelping in shock, he scrambled backwards before coughing from the sudden rush of adrenaline.

"Oliver, you perv!" Jiro yelled.

"I'm sorry, I didn't know until I opened my eyes, forgive me!" Oliver cried.

"It's quite alright. At least you're nice about it unlike Mineta," Yaoyorozu said. "Plus I can always make new clothing." Sighing as she pushed the blanket off of her and Jiro, she wiped her brow as she focused on making a new uniform. "For a bunch of unskilled villains, that was a tough fight."

"Yeah," Jiro said, having put herself between the mostly nude Yaoyorozu and Oliver, who was pointedly looking away. "They were organized, acted like somewhat of a team. Even if they were still uncoordinated."

"You think this attack was planned and not some raid against students?" Yaoyorozu said.

"It's possible," Oliver said. "Chances are if that's the case, they had intel. Someone could've infiltrated U.A. and got the idea to attack us. But why...and how?"

"Heh heh heh..." Oliver, Jiro, and Yaoyorozu turned to see Kaminari wandering around, thumbs up as he babbled incessantly. His body still crackled with remnants of electricity.

"Wait, that misty guy said this place was where All Might would die. But he's not here," Jiro said, ignoring Kaminari. "Is it possible that-"

"Wait, All Might is coming? Where?" Oliver cried out, looking around. "Didn't Mr. Aizawa say he was joining the teachers for training here?"

"I don't know, but we could use him right about now. But...he seemed so set that they had a plan for killing him. Can that even be possible?" Yaoyorozu asked.

Oliver gasped. "Aizawa!" he cried before turning around and leaping off the cliff's edge, before siding down the massive mountain. "I have to help!"

"Oliver!" Jiro yelled in exasperation as he slid down the sloped and bumpy rocks, his boots grinding dust before leaping off near the bottom and landing. "Mr. Aizawa!" he yelled before freezing.

A massive black and muscular figure with a bird beak and large exposed brain and eyeballs was pinning a bloody and battered Aizawa to the ground, with a tall and skinny man, as well as that black and purple mist covered villain next to it.

The man was covered in hands, one on his face, one on the back of his head, shoulders, chest, and arms. He wore black pants and a black long sleeved shirt, and he had shaggy blue hair. The man turned to see Oliver standing there, before turning his whole body to face him. "Before we do that...let's wreck the Symbol or Peace's pride..." a raspy voice hissed from the man's covered face.

"Oliver, no!" Midoriya's voice cried. Before Oliver could react, the hand covered man was gone, before he reappeared at lightning speed before him, his left hand outstretched towards his face. "This is gonna hurt!" the man covered in hands roared as he closed the distance at a terrifying speed.

Out of reflex, Oliver brought up his right hand, smacking the mysterious man's arm aside before throwing a kick to his side. The kick landed, but the man simply slid to the left before dashing again, both arms outstretched to grasp his face.

Oliver brought up his arms to block just in the nick of time, resulting in the villain grabbing his left gauntlet instead. "You're fast," he said, not sounding very impressed. "But you're still a kid."

"A-and what does that make you?"Oliver asked lamely, before he heard creaking. The gauntlet that the villain was grabbing began to crack, then rust, then wither away. In panic, he kicked the villain in the stomach and jumped back as the gauntlet broke apart into dust particles, leaving his dirty camouflage arm sleeve.

"I'm a villain. The one who calls the shots!" the man cackled, which proceeded to creep Oliver out thanks to all the pale hands on his body. "And I say you are going to die here."

A loud crunch filled the air, and the man turned. Midoriya had attempted to attack, but the big black bird man had stopped him, absorbing whatever blow his green haired freckled classmate would've dealt. "Good job, Nomu," the hands man said, as the black and purple mist villain teleported to the man's side.

"Shigaraki. We must hurry, their backup will arrive soon," the black mist said.

"Ugh, you're ruining my moment, Kurogiri...and I seriously thought that I'd be able to get at least one kill in today," the man, Shigaraki said, before turning to Oliver. It was then Oliver could see his eye. It was small, red, and very terrifying, peeking out between two fingers on the man's face.

"But I'll settle for near death dismemberment."

This time, Oliver couldn't react in time, and the man soon had both his hands on his neck, choking him. The scarf began to disintegrate, and he felt his skin underneath do the same. His scarf mask broke apart, revealing his pained grimace and gritted teeth.

"Oliver!" Mineta's voice was heard.

"Midoriya, move!" Asui yelled.

Oliver knew he was really about to die. Any one or two seconds longer and his neck would break apart, killing him and separating his head from his body. But...

He looked to see Asui and Mineta still in the water.

"Not...yet!" he croaked before snapping his fingers. Shigaraki exploded in a flash of white, and Mineta was in his place, flopping to the ground. Asui covered her eyes as Mineta had vanished into white light, and Shigaraki splashed into the water next to her. In a flash of rare fear and panic, she jumped out before she could be grabbed next.

"So, your quirk is a form of teleportation, sort of like my own quirk..." Kurogiri said thoughtfully. "Normally, I would be up for slaughtering every last one of you kids. But...your quirk is useful. Perhaps our master would appreciate an...asset...like you in our custody."

"Y-you're kidding..." Oliver whispered. The mass of mist began to expand, and slowly began to surround him like before. "Wait...wait, stop...please..."

Midoriya had tried to run for Oliver, but the massive bird brain headed creature, Nomu, managed to grab his arm and was prepared to smash him into the ground. Mineta was curled up on the ground out of fear as the mist began to swallow him and Oliver, and Asui was jumping towards Nomu, tongue out and ready to grab Midoriya.

Suddenly, everything stopped. They didn't even hear the explosion when it happened, but Midoriya, Oliver, Nomu, Asui, Mineta, and Kurogiri had turned to see what was going on.

"No..." Kurogiri growled as the yellow slits for eyes narrowed. At the entrance of the facility was a tall and muscular man wearing yellow suit pants and a white button-up. The remnants of a blue tie was clutched in his right hand, and his blonde haired face held an infuriated grimace.

"All Might!" Midoriya and Mineta cried. Oliver tried to cheer, but he coughed up blood as he felt his neck and throat burn horribly. Croaking and choking, he collapsed to the ground, grasping his neck in agony.

All Might growled before vanishing from the entrance, and reappearing at the main plaza, grabbing Aizawa, Asui, Mineta, Midoriya, and Oliver one at a time, all within the span of a second. "O-Oliver!" Mineta called. "We gotta move him!"

"Hurry, take him and Aizawa to the entrance!" All Might ordered. "They don't have much time. Young Iida has gone straight to U.A. and called for backup. I'll hold these villains off until they arrive."

"R-right! Let's go!" Midoriya said, grabbing Oliver as Asui and Mineta worked together to bring the unconscious teacher to the entrance, where the rest of their class would hopefully be waiting.

"Hurts..."

"Huh? Oliver, stay still, it'll be OK," Midoriya reassured. "All Might is here now."

"Hurts...it hurts..." Oliver whimpered. His voice was raspy, and blood leaked from his neck and mouth. "Help..."

He couldn't register Midoriya's soothing words, or the devastating fight that was going on between All Might and Nomu. When he attempted to turn, all he could see was the pool where a dripping wet Shigaraki stood. The hand on his face was gone, and he could see what it was hiding. Wide chapped lips stretched in a furious snarl and wrinkled skin surrounding wide hateful eyes, staring directly at Oliver.

He couldn't even turn back before he passed out in Midoriya's arms.

- several days after the attack -

The U.S.J. Incident, as the public was calling it, went viral. Villains attacking a U.A. facility made for some pretty eye catching headlines, especially with the unexpected uprise of villain activity.

Oliver, Aizawa and Thirteen were in the hospital, recovering. Aizawa had some long term injuries but nothing he wouldn't pull through from. Thirteen's injuries were fairly light, indicating a quick recovery. Oliver had the least amount of injuries, having only been harmed in his neck, but his neck was in bad shape.

Severe skin and muscle decay had left his throat in bad shape, and he wouldn't be able to eat, talk, or even breathe properly for the next few weeks. Thankfully the U.A. school nurse, Recovery Girl, was making sure he was healing at a safely accelerated rate, where he'd be able to have fully recovered in the next few days as long as he saw her a few times a day.

A day had passed, and Oliver was getting antsy. His throat was healing nicely thanks to Recovery Girl, even if how she healed creeped him out a bit, but he still appreciated the help nonetheless. He had yet to be released, and he was sick of spending all day in bed, alone most of the time.

He'd call his uncle if he could, but he still couldn't speak without it hurting. At least breathing was a bit more bearable, and he could at least drink water and soup. But none of his classmates had seen him yet. Then again, he was new, so he didn't expect any of them to care-

"Oliver!"

Or not.

Midoriya, Iida, Uraraka, Yaoyorozu, and Asui barged into his empty hospital room, Iida scolding them for running in the hallways even though he'd run as well to keep up.

"You're OK!" Midoriya cried.

"I'm so glad!" Uraraka wailed.

"Why did you rush off on your own?!" Yaoyorozu sniffled while scolding him.

"I cannot condone your reckless actions, but I am glad you are alright!" Iida declared.

"How bad are your injuries?" Asui asked, the most calm out of the group of students.

"N-not bad..." Oliver whispered. "I won't be able to talk like normal for a while..."

"Oh. Still, no permanent damage. That's a good sign," Uraraka said.

"Still, I'm disappointed in you for what you did. Yaoyorozu told us you rushed into battle without a second thought, and you fought against the ringleader, resulting in those injuries," Iida said. "It's clear you don't think before acting, and that's what got you into this situation."

"Iida, he was only trying to help! He very well might have saved Mr. Aizawa!" Midoriya protested.

"He still violated orders to stay safe and trust our superior!" Iida shot back. "Injuries like this are exactly what he was trying to avoid!"

"Iida's right. We're still students, and we have very little experience. We were lucky those villains were easy to deal with, but what if it wasn't like that? What if they were stronger, faster, had better quirks than us?" Yaoyorozu asked. "We had no idea what we were going to do that day."

"Correct, Yaoyorozu. And it's important to remember that the teachers are there to keep us safe," Iida said.

"I'm sorry..."

The five turned to see Oliver shaking in the bed. He looked to his classmates, teary eyed and sobbing. "I'm sorry...I wanted to help, but I only caused trouble..." he clutched the sheets as he whimpered and sniffled.

"W-wait!" Uraraka said, rushing over to Oliver. "There's no right or wrong in that situation. You made a call and acted on it. It could've gone in either way."

"She's right," Asui said. "Heroes have to make tough calls every day. Sometimes they end wrong, sometimes they save the day. We should be glad this was a good call."

Iida and Yaoyorozu looked to each other, gulping. Iida bowed a perfect ninety degrees at once, his glasses falling off easily. "I apologize! You were only trying to assist Mr. Aizawa and insetad I chastised you for it! Please, forgive me! As your class representative, I should've considered your thoughts on the matter!" Iida announced.

"M-me too!" Yaoyorozu said. "I was just scared after seeing that man's hands wrapped around your throat. I didn't wanna see one of my new friends die..."

"F-friends?" Oliver asked.

"Of course..."Yaoyorozu said, wiping her eyes. "You're a part of Class 1-A now. You're a friend."

"And friends look out for each other!" Uraraka said, pumping her fist in the air.

"Ribbit," Asui croaked.

Oliver sniffled and smiled shyly. "F-friends..." he whispered. As he smiled, he didn't feel the pain anymore. All he could feel was his classmates' care as they all stood around his bed. Despite the chaos that happened at his first day of U.A. High, he wouldn't trade it for anything else in the world.
