When Sasuke looks into his brother's eyes he sees sadness even though Itachi tries to hide it.
''Sooooo.'' Shisui begins awkwardly. ''How is training with your dad, Sasuke?''
Sasuke appreciates Shisui trying to lighting up the air. He finds it must easier to focus his attention on Shisui then on his brother. Now that he thinks about it. If Shisui is still alive that means Danzo doesn't have his eye yet. Itachi doesnt't have the mangekyo Sharigan yet. Itachi killed the clan after Shisui killed himself. He needs to make sure Shisui is safe and Danzo doesn't get his eye. He needs a plan.
If only the others were here to help me plan.
But soon Sasuke will go to the academy and he will find out if they have travelled to the past too.
''Helloo? Someone in there?'' Shisui asks as he knocks on Sasuke's head. He can now identify Shisui's teasing. He has missed him too and was sad that he hadn't gotten to know him better. He was his brother's best friends after all and important for future events that Sasuke wants to keep from happening. He swats Shisui's hands away from him and Shisui pouts at him.
''Training is fun.'' Sasuke answers.
''Nice.'' Shisui responds and then signs to Itachi, Itachi nods.
''I will go home now. Goodbye Sasuke. Goodbye Itachi.'' Shisui says as he waves goodbye, planning to leave so that Itachi can resume training with Sasuke.
''No.'' Sasuke says and Shisui raises his eyebrows and looks confused at Sasuke as he runs towards Shisui, putting his arms around Shisui's middle. ''I want to train with you!''
''Ehhhh?'' Shisui exclaims surprised. ''Me?'' He points at himself and then looks at Itachi.
''Why not with your bother? You always want to train with Itachi.''
''And he always says that he is busy and doesn't have time. But you have time right Shisui-nii?''
He takes a hold of Shisui's arm and tries to drag him out of the backyard. His destination is the forest that is close by with practise targets. Not knowing what to do because he has never seen Sasuke let an opportunity to spend time with his brother pass by he looks at Itachi. Itachi considers them with a sad look in his eyes but then signs to Shisui to take care of his brother. Shisui signs that they will talk later because something is clearly wrong with Sasuke. As Sasuke and Shisui leave the backyard, Itachi walks into the house.
What happened in the few weeks he was on a mission? Itachi needs to know.
Author's note
So Sasuke wants to train with Shisui because he needs to keep an eye on him and doesn't know yet how to face his brother. He also thinks his brother would notice his change in behaviour faster. But not wanting to train with Itachi? Sasuke everyone is going to notice that!
About ships, romance is not the focus of this story and I am not that good at it. I do have a ship in mind. But romance will never be the focus.
