The night sky was starting to lighten up when a car turned up on Akari's driveway. Kaname knew that the Ichijo's would have sent for him, reminding him who was offering to help him at his time of need. Kaname didn't really need them or their help, but they could be useful in the long run, with the school and with dealing with future trouble from Rido.

Before anyone could knock on the front door, Kaname had opened it and stepped outside. Akari stood in the doorway, slightly hidden behind Kaname. Ichoji Asato was stood at the bottom of the steps that led to the front door. Akari looked at Asato curiously, she had met the man a few times. But she was sure that he was one of Rido's loyal followers. It had confused her when Kaname had told that the Ichoji's had offered him sanctuary. She had now figured that may be Asato was simply following Rido's orders. She would keep an eye on the man until she could confirm with Rido.

"Lord Kaname." Asato greeted him with a bow. "Lady Akari." He then addressed her, admiring her beauty. He always enjoyed looking her up and down when he saw her with Rido. "Cross contacted us, he wishes to have a meeting in two days, I thought you might want so time to prepare." He then said as he slowly took her eyes off Akari. He had been warned by Rido about his wondering eyes but Rido wasn't around to do more than warn him. However, he was now reserving a deadly warning from Kaname, his glare daring him to look at her again. Asato should have guessed a woman like Akari would have started sinking her claws into Kaname now that Rido had to hide and had cleared her a way to the now king. He couldn't blame her for going after the power and money, especially since Rido wouldn't give her more than his bed.

Kaname knew that Asato would give an excuse, a reason to just turn up. Asato knew better than to tell him to come back so that he can look even more powerful to the others because he's housing the new king. Kaname turned and kissed the back of Akari's hand. She was thankful that he didn't drive in for another kiss, she hated him doing that.

"Lady Akari, as you will be attending the new school with me, would you accompany me to the meeting?" Kaname asked her as he slowly released her hand. "It would allow you to meet the man who is helping me make this possible. It would also allow to raise any concerns you have." He then reasoned. Akari nodded, agreeing to go with him. Kaname smiled and told her that he would pick her up.

Akari watched them leave, she made sure they were long gone before she rushed off the check on Rido.

Akari had chosen to wear black wide leg trousers with a loose white blouse, tucked in loosely. She wore a black three-quarter sleeve suit jacket that looked like they had been rolled up. Her shoes were black pointed stilettos. She had painted her nails bright ruby red to match her lipstick. She had even taken her time to blow dry her hair instead of letting it dry naturally, as well as putting in a side parting instead of her usual centre parting. Kaname was surprised when he saw her exit her home, he had expected her to be in dress, not a suit. She still looked good to him. He took note of the large red leather bag hanging off her arm, the straps resting in the crook of her elbow. He wondered why she would even need a bag.

It was still early morning when he came to pick her up, the sun was only just pecking over the hills in the horizon.

"Good morning Akari." Kaname greeted her, bowing his head a little. Akari gave him a smile after greeting him back. "Don't worry about taking a bag with us, Cross will be sending information packs out and the uniforms will be handed out when we all arrive for our first day." He then stated as she reached him at the car.

"Oh, it's got a pair of flat shoes in, in case my feet get tired of my heels. My bank card and check book to pay for my tuition and some make up." She explained before quickly pulling out a pair of black oversized sunglasses as the sun hit her eyes. Kaname nodded and opened the back-passenger door for her. She thanked him before sliding in, he slid in next to her.

"You don't need to worry about paying for your tuition, Cross is letting us come free of charge. We're bringing people with us that want to work in peace with humans. If this works then he would make much more money than our tuition." He told her as the car started to pull away. Akari frowned and shook her head.

"I will pay whatever fee it is. I don't believe in a free pass, there is always a catch." She informed him, crossing her legs. Kaname hide his surprise at her, he hadn't thought about that.

"Then allow me to pay for it." He offered, a good deed to make her favour him even more.

"Thank you but I will have to decline. I know you mean well but I rather pay my way." She told him with a smile.

"Looks like I'll just have to shower you with gifts then." Akari laughed as he suggested it.

The both of them stayed a little quiet until the car arrived at the school. Kaname had ran out of things to say and Akari wasn't really in the mood to entertain him. She just kept yawning, Kaname put his arm around her shoulders and pulled him into his side. He allowed her to sleep on his shoulder. Akari was glad for the offer, she may not have slept as she didn't trust him, but at least she didn't have to talk to him anymore if he thought she was asleep.

He helped her out of the car and watched her stretch her legs a little. Akari looked at the building in front of her.

"Beautiful." She said with a smile.

"Not as beautiful as you." Kaname spoke up behind her. She rolled her eyes before turning to him with a smile, thanking him for his compliment. He led her directly to Cross's office, they were met by a boy in a black dishevelled uniform with silver hair.

"Kuran." The boy hissed at him. Akari wanted to say she was surprised by the boys' tone of voice but she would speak the same way to Kaname if she could.

"Kiryu." Kaname greeted him calmly.

"Cross was only expecting you. Who is she?" The boy asked, reaching for something in his jacket.

"This is Lady Akari." Kaname introduced her to him. "This is Zero Kiryu, Cross's son."

"Adopted son." Zero snapped back.

"It's nice to meet you Zero." Akari said politely, stepping forwards to shake his hand. Zero just stared at her.

"Zero isn't fond of us purebloods." Kaname informed her.

"I can't blame him." She said with a shrug. Kaname frowned slightly but shook it off, for now. Even Zero appeared to be taken aback by her comment.

The doors suddenly opened to reveal a very handsome man with hazel eyes and ash-blond hair tied back into a ponytail. He had a large smile taking up most of his face. Akari was taken aback a little by his entrance.

"Welcome Lord Kaname!" The man spoke cheerfully, holding out his hand. Kaname shook his hand before the man's attention fell on Akari. "I see you brought a friend with you."

"Yes, this Is Lady Akari, she is a good friend of mine. She would like to join me here and support us." Kaname introduced her and explained her presence to him.

"Wonderful!" The man clapped his hands together, the smile never leaving his face. Akari was sure it was stuck like that. "My name is Kaien Cross, I'm the headmaster." He introduced himself, holding out his hand for her. She smiled and shook his hand.

"It is a pleasure to meet you. This school is beautiful." She told him with a smile.

"I see you met my son, Zero." Kaien said once he spotted Zero hiding behind the door. Akari nodded and tried not to giggle when she heard Zero growl that he was adopted.

Kaien invited the two purebloods into his office. They discussed the lessons that would take place as well as rules that they all wanted implemented to ensure everyone's safety. Akari made sure she got the cost of tuition from Kaien and paid it before he could refuse. Kaien also took them on a tour of their dormitory, the Moon Dormitory.

"Can we decorate the bedrooms to our liking as long as the cost comes out of our pocket?" Akari asked as they toured the dormitory. "Nothing structural, just curtains and maybe the wallpaper, bedding. That sort of thing." She clarified before she led him to believe that she wanted to change everything about the rooms. Kaien nodded.

"As long as it doesn't affect the building." Akari nodded and thanked him.

At the end of the tour, Kaien gave Akari a female uniform to take with her. He wanted to make sure it would be appropriate for her and the other women who would be joining them.

Kaname took Akari back to her home, he tried to get invited back into her home but she told him she was very tired and wanted to rest.

Akari closed the front door, leaning against it with a sigh. She wasn't sure if she could cope sending so much time with Kaname. He was hard work to entertain, he wanted to talk all the time and had to be touching her in same way, whether it was holding her hand or guiding her by placing his hand on her lower back. It was really starting to creep her out. She shook her thoughts from her head and went to check on Rido. She was annoyed that she was forced to stay away from him for so long. At least she would have a few months to stay and nurse Rido back to health before she had to leave.
