The day she had to leave for the school was drawing closer and closer. She was worried that Rido wouldn't awaken before she had to leave. She wanted him to know what was going on. She still didn't know where Yuki was but she was hoping that Kaname would tell her soon. To be honest, no one had seen Yuki since she was born except on a handful of occasions. Even then, no one had seen her for the last year or so. The girl was still young and could have grown in so many different ways.
A groan brought her from her thoughts. She looked over and saw Rido slowly moving and opening his eyes. She smiled and sat down next to him, waiting for him to come around. Rido smiled once his eyes focused on the women next to him.
"Hello handsome." Akari smiled, speaking softly. She brushed his hair from his eyes.
"Now this is an excellent way to wake up." Rido said, his voice a little raspy.
"Thirsty?" She asked with a smirk, pulling her hair away from her neck. Rido smirked back and pulled her closer to him, gently licking her neck. Akari blushed and sighed as his teeth sunk into her skin. Rido drank hungrily, he loved the taste of her blood. As he pulled away, he licked up the blood that leaked from her wound.
"Did you have any luck with Kaname?" He asked her. Akari rolled her eyes, always business first.
"Yes, he comes by every couple of days to see me. He wants me to join him at Cross Academy." She informed him.
"That stupid idea is actually happening?" He asked shaking his head. Surprised that Kaname had found someone stupid enough to let a group of vampires into their school full of humans. Akari nodded and sighed.
"Yeah, he wants me to be his girlfriend." She told him with a sigh, snuggling into his side. Rido chuckled before looking at her.
"Keep him chasing after you, what do you know about the school?" Akari told him everything: there the school was, the layout, who was joining them, the lessons and even the décor. She modeled the uniform for him. Rido thought it could become a very sexy school girl outfit with a few changes. He did think the skirt looked a little short on her, but it would definitely would keep Kaname's attention.
The next day Rido felt well enough to move about more. He had a plan to get into the school with her, without anyone knowing. He told Akari that he would be back later on, he knew that she would be worried about him the entire time. A name that Akari mentioned could be his way into the school, Senri Shiki.
It was now the day that Akari was to leave to join Kaname at the academy. She didn't want to leave Rido on his own while he was still recovering. But he told her he had a surprise for her once she got to the academy.
She looked at herself in the mirror. She wasn't ready for this but she needed to do this, she needed to do this for Rido. Their first night was going to be a small party, a light hearted affair to get to know each other and chose roommates. Even though it was meant to be a light hearted party, they were still expected to wear their best.
Akari was wearing a black off the shoulder mermaid dress. Thin black lace sleeves covered her arms all the way to her fingers. The dress clung to her figure, flaring out at the knee. The lace on the dress was incredibly detailed, the lace flowers ranged from lily's to roses. She hair had been pulled into a large bun; each stand of hair had been carefully pinned in its place. A large amount of hairspray was holding everything in its place. She had a hairpiece what was made from silver, pearls and diamonds arranged to small flowers, it started at just above eyelevel on her right side, in her swept fridge. The hairpiece stretched back into the large bun. Her lips were painted blood red, her eyelids started as glittered silver then deep red before turning black and creating a cat eye look. She had once again painted her nails red. Red was her favourite colour but she knew it clashed at times with her bright ginger hair. She had a black lace chocker around her neck. Black sapphires hung from the lace like teardrops. A large ruby was set in the middle of the chocker, it was surrounded by more black sapphires. Her earrings were matching chandelier black sapphires. She wasn't overly keen on wearing jewellery but she had to make an impression on the aristocrats that she would be meeting. Black was the only colour she felt like wearing, she didn't want to be colourful and happy.
Her luggage had already been sent ahead of her the day before, a request of Kaname's to ensure everyone would have everything they needed when they arrived. It also meant she couldn't spend half the night hiding from Kaname by saying she forgot to pack sometime because now she had twenty-four hours to ensure she had everything after she sent her bags ahead.
When she arrived at the academy, Kaname opened the car door for her. She smiled and allowed him to kiss the back of her hand.
"You look magnificent." He complimented her and allowed her to take his arm. She smiled up at him as she thanked him.
"You look rather dashing yourself." She complimented back. He was wearing a more formal suit than he would normally wear. She allowed him to led her to the Moon Dormitory, now she had to meet everyone.
She was pleasantly surprised by Takuma Ichijo, he was a cheerful boy, he wasn't anything like his grandfather. It looked like the boy was the polar opposite of Asato and she was thankful for it. She went on to meet the others, she kept her eye out for Rido's surprise for her.
Kain Akatsuki seemed nice enough, Kaname had told her that if Takuma was to leave, he would take his place. Asato had voiced a number of objections towards the academy but had yet to interfere. Kaname figured it may only be a matter of time before Takuma would be ordered to go home. Kain's cousin, Aido Hanabusa, Akari wasn't a fan of. She felt he was a little bit of a goody goody two shoes, he was borderline Kaname's stalker. She would have to be careful with him. The two men also shared another cousin within this group of aristocrats, Ruka Souen. Akari couldn't help but notice the loving look in Ruka's eyes when she looked at Kaname. She also noticed the jealous glare that was aimed at her by Souen. Seiren seemed to be emotionless and only interested in Kaname. She didn't seem like someone Akari could be friends with. The only other women at the party was Rima Toya, Akari felt that she may get on with her. She was blunt and said it how it was, Akari liked this, she wouldn't have to dance around Rima.
Akari's eyes then fell on Shiki Senri, she saw his eyes and knew this was Rido's surprise for her. Rido had processed Shiki so he could watch over her. She smiled and approached him.
"Good evening Lady Akari." Senri greeted her and bowed. Akari smiled widened slightly. She never thought Rido would ever bow to her.
"We haven't been introduced, have we?" She asked teasingly with a knowing smile. Senri smirked back, he knew the dance she was doing well.
"I don't believe so but I overheard Lord Kaname say your name." Senri explained as he passed her champagne. "My name is Shiki Senri. It is a pleasure to meet you." He finally introduced himself.
"It is a pleasure indeed." She told him before taking a sip of her drink. "I think we'll get on really well, don't you?" She added with a smirk.
"I would say we could be very good friends." Senri answered, watching Akari trying not to laugh. He knew she was happy, in fact over the moon that he was here. He had seen the dread and fear in her eyes when she had entered with Kaname. He could see that all she wanted to do was run, run back to him. He had noticed her struggle with the situation since he awoken. He wanted to ease her worry, he wanted to be near her, support her and keep her happy.
"There you are." Kaname's sang from behind her. Senri saw her face drop and then a fake smile take its place on her lips. "I see you're making friends." He then added, sending Shiki a glare. Senri knew it wasn't because he knew he was really Rido. It was because he was able to get a real smile from Akari.
"Yes I am." She told him with a smile. "And I was about to ask Senri if he would like to my bodyguard. I know you've been worried about me not having a bodyguard." She then added, Senri didn't appear to look the slightest bit surprised. Akari had told Rido about Kaname pushing her to have a bodyguard,
"Is that so? And how do you know he is the person? What are his abilities?" Kaname questioned, folding his arms over his chest. Akari paused, she hadn't thought that far ahead.
"We were about to discuss when you arrived Lord Kaname." Senri spoke up, noticing the panic rising in Akari. She nodded in agreement, smiling at him in thanks. Kaname nodded his head a little.
"Is that so? Well then Senri, please tell us about your abilities and why you should be my Akari's bodyguard." Kaname pretty much ordered as he slid his arm around Akari's waist, pulling her to his side. Akari fought off a glare as she looked up at Kaname. How dare he say she was his?! She hadn't agreed to be more than friends at this point and he was already trying to piss up and down her like a dog. It annoyed her to no end. She would have to call him out on this later, after all, he did tell her to call him out if he hurt her. He over stepped her boundary and had just shown her little respect, hurting her feelings.
She allowed him to keep his arm around her, she wouldn't make a fuss here. The last thing she wanted was drama. The air had been tense since Kaname had come over to her and Senri, she was sure they were being watched by everyone, even if their eyes weren't looking directly at them.
"I am use to eliminating Level-E's and can hold my own against most. My power is a blood whip which I assure you, I am adequate skilled in, if not exceptionally skilled." Senri informed them, sounding almost boastful.
"Akari, now you know his abilities, why don't you find out everyone else's?" Kaname asked and Akari pulled a face at him. He raised his eyebrow at her reaction. "Why don't you want to talk to anyone else?" He then questioned her, suspicious.
"I don't know if I'll get on with them, Ichijo and Akatsuki seem OK. I and Senri just seem to click like friends should." Akari told him. She knew he was suspicious of why she wanted Senri. She knew he was thinking that she had taken a romantic shine to Senri instead. She wouldn't mind being with Senri romantically anyway, seeing as Rido was controlling the boy. "I've never got on with women that well." She then admitted with a small shrug.
"Please just ask the others before coming to a decision. You might be surprised." Kaname told her, his face softened. Many women in the vampire world didn't get on because they spent most of their time fighting for a man, the higher their level, the fiercer they got. Akari sighed and nodded before excusing herself from the two men.
Kaname eyed Senri with caution before warning him. "Remember, she's a pureblood and above you Senri. She is mine." He hissed lowly at Senri, glaring at him with a mix of anger and hate. Senri didn't finch away like most men would have. He looked Kaname square in the eyes.
"I'm not looking to take her from anyone. I just thought she could use a friend. Ruka won't stop glaring at her. Takuma and Akatsuki are treating her so formally, it like they're walking on eggshells. Rima is indifferent towards her. Your bodyguard isn't going to be her first choice of friendship either. As for Hanabusa, he looks like he wants to eat her. Normally I wouldn't step up, I prefer to stay in the background. But she needs someone who isn't trying suck up to you every two seconds, no offence." Senri told him with a sigh, retrieving a packet of pocky from his suit jacket. Kaname watched him closely, looking for any sort of changes in Shiki's indifferent expression.
"As long as friendship is all you will provide her with, but I'll be watching you closely." Kaname warned him before walking away. Senri smirked at his back, pocky poking out from the side of his mouth.
