Senri slowly woke up as the car approached the academy gates. He looked around, trying to get his bearings. He felt his stomach drop. Rido had used him to get Akari and now he had to face Kaname. He felt a moment of relief when it was Takuma who greeted him as the car stopped. If he had to tell Kaname without his friend for help, he was sure he would be killed on the spot.
"I need to talk to you." Senri told him as soon as he got out of the car. Takuma looked at him surprised before leading Senri to their room.
"What's wrong?" Takuma asked as soon as the door was closed.
"I messed up." Senri admitted, he didn't know how else to say it. "Rido had possessed me, he has done since the first night." He then added. Takuma's eyes widened in shock. "I had no control, all I knew was he was possessing me. I couldn't see or hear anything."
"But why? To keep an eye on Kaname?" Takuma questioned her. Senri shook his head and ran his fingers through his hair.
"Rido used me to get Akari. He tricked her and now she's trapped with him. Why else would he have sent her flowers and now made her return home?" Senri reasoned, Takuma frowned, it seemed to be the only reason, unless Rido was using Akari to get to Kaname?
"You have to tell Kaname, now." Takuma told him and Senri nodded in agreement. He was terrified of the possible outcome. He was sure he was a dead man walking. He wasn't even sure if Takuma could help him escape this fate.
Takuma lead the way to Kaname's office. He felt sorry for his friend. He knew Kaname wouldn't be pleased with this news. He would probably want to kill Senri for allowing this to happen. But he would stand up for Senri, after all, how was Senri meant to fight Rido's possession? Takuma took a deep breath before knocking on Kaname's office door. Takuma and Senri shared a worried look before entering at the sound of Kaname's voice.
Kaname looked up from the paper on his desk. It was unusual for someone to disturb him. They often only came when requested, they would go to Takuma instead. But when he saw both Takuma and Senri, he assumed they must have come to report Akari's safe arrival home and if Senri saw her parents alive and well.
"Did Akari make it back home safely?" Kaname asked, he didn't seem worried, he trusted her judgement and Senri to protect her. Senri took a deep breath and looked at Takuma for support. Kaname frowned and sat up straighter, giving them all of his attention. This didn't seem good.
"I'm afraid that Rido has tricked us." Senri told him. Kaname's eyes filled with anger and hate. "Rido used me to succeed." He then admitted. Kaname jumped up out of his chair, within seconds he had his hand around Senri's throat. Takuma tried to push between the two men.
"It wasn't his fault!" Takuma shouted, only just managing to separate them. "He was possessed by Rido, he won't have been able to stop him." He then reasoned as he stood in front of Senri who was on the floor, holding his neck, breathing heavily. Kaname glared at the pair, anger coursing through his veins.
"I'm going to speak with Cross." Kaname hissed out through gritted teeth. Takuma sighed in relief as Kaname stormed out. He was almost sure that Kaname would kill his friend.
Kaname stormed into Cross's office, making both Cross and Zero jump. Zero's hand was straight on his gun, ready and happily hoping to put a bullet in Kaname.
"Kaname, what can we do for you?" Cross asked, he had already noticed the anger storming through Kaname.
"Rido took Akari and possessed Senri to trick us all." Kaname hissed as he sat down in front of Cross. He had only come here because he wasn't sure what he should do. He wanted to run over to Akari's and then tare Rido limb from limb. However, he couldn't be sure how much Akari had been brainwashed by Rido over the years. He wasn't sure if he would be happy to see him or if she would try to escape the man who she said she didn't know anymore after his deeds? He wanted conformation that he would be doing the right thing. Cross frowned at the news; he also didn't fail to notice Zero's reaction. Zero had tensed up and gave Kaname a look that would kill. It wasn't his usual death glare; this was something else. It appeared that Zero may have taken a shine to Akari for some reason. He suspected it was due to the time that she put Kaname in his place and stood up for him.
"Was it solely about Akari?" Cross asked, hinting to Kaname about Yuki, seeing as Zero didn't know about her true status. Cross wondered if Rido would pass up a chance to hunt for Yuki. Surely he would have figured that Kaname would never stray far from his sister?
"I'm sure. He had been trying to obtain her for years." Kaname informed them.
"She's not a possession." Zero let out a low hiss. Kaname raised an eyebrow at Zero, surprised.
"I am aware of that. I'm trying to come up with a plan to free her." Kaname countered.
"What do you think we should do? Should we do anything? Akari I believe is more than capable of leaving Rido if she chose." Cross spoke, gaining the attention of the other men. Kaname's anger flared once more at the suggestion. Zero seemed to calm down a little, seeing reason in Cross's thought.
"You don't know what Rido is capable of." Kaname hissed, annoyed with Cross's underestimate of Rido and what he could do both physically and mentally. Rido could easily break someone's mind, he was cruel and manipulative, playing games to twist someone's mind. "While I stayed with her before coming here, she had come to see who Rido really was. She didn't want anything to do with him anymore." He went on to explain. "She was coming around to being my fiancée." Zero huffed and rolled his eyes.
"If you wish to chase after her Kaname then you can." Cross told him; his usually happy demeanour was now sour. He wasn't prepared to put up with Kaname if he couldn't commit to the school. He refused to have the school put between two purebloods who were thinking with something other than their brain.
"I will." Kaname snapped and stormed out, Cross would never understand the enormity of the situation.
"Senri will have gotten back and talked by now." Akari spoke up as she exited the ensuite with only a towel wrapped around her. Rido hummed in acknowledgement as he sat up in the bed, the duvet only covering the bottom half of his body. "Rido, this is serious. We don't know what he will do." She stressed as she dried herself off.
"I know Akari." He said as he watched her. "If he turns up here then I will leave for the academy. It will leave Yuki open to my attack." He added as he got out of bed. "I know you can hold your own against him, you showed me plenty of times in the past." She giggled in response, remembering the first few years she knew him. A few times, he had caused her to lose her temper with his flirting. She had thrown him out on his arse with very little effort. He walked up behind her, pressing his naked body against her partly covered body. Akari smiled as he leaned down and kissed her neck where he had bitten her the day before. "You taste delicious." He whispered against her skin, making her giggle. "We will stay on guard for now. We have to wait for Kaname to make his move." Akari sighed and nodded as he brought her back to reality. Rido gave her a soft kiss on the lips before taking her turn in the ensuite.
