In the end Itachi dutifully delivers the book to Izumi and talks with her. Sasuke and Shisui made their way towards the forest where they are now practising throwing kunai's and shurikens. During their practise Shisui keeps on glancing at Sasuke like he wants to say something. Sasuke is pretty sure it is about his avoidance of Itachi. Sasuke stops throwing shurikens and turns his body to face Shisui's. Shisui lets out a nervous laugh.

''You caught me. I just wanted to ask if maybe you and Itachi had a fight. Because I am still surprised that you want me to train you and not Itachi.'' Shisui scratches the back of his head.

''Itachi never trained me no matter how many time I asked. I just got bored of asking and you said you were stronger then my brother.'' Like I already told you.

''I did say that didn't I?'' Shisui sighs. ''But you have started avoiding him too Sasuke.''

Sasuke folds his arms and raises his head slightly so that he can look Shisui in the eye.

''I care about you and Itachi and I know you have been avoiding him. Something must have happened between the two of you.'' Shisui continues.

''Why don't you ask Itachi?'' Sasuke replies.

Shisui gives a small smile. ''I already did but he didn't know.''

Sasuke knows Itachi can't know because it is because he is from the future but he cannot tell Shisui that.

''I can see that it makes Itachi very sad to see you avoiding him. Even if he doesn't show it.''

Sasuke bites his lip as guilt creeps in his feelings.

''I can also see it hurts you too. I can see the longing in your eyes when you look at Itachi, Sasuke.'' Shisui points at his own eyes. ''You cannot fool my eyes.''

Sasuke looks at Shisui's eyes. He still has the both of them. Sasuke doesn't know exactly when Shisui's eyes get stolen and he commits suicide but he does know it is around the time he gets his first report from the academy. He needs to fulfil his part of the plan in order to save Shisui and in the end his whole clan including Itachi. He is also doing this for Itachi so that he wouldn't have to kill his own family. That means that for now he has to swallow the guilt. He wants nothing more than to spend more time with Itachi. He still loves Itachi after all. He hopes that Itachi will reach out to him. Before it was always Sasuke running towards Itachi. But now Itachi has to go to Sasuke. He has to open up to him. He wants Itachi to communicate with him. Itachi killed the clan to protect Sasuke because he thought that was the only way. Sasuke wants Itachi to realise that there are more ways to handle something.

''Don't you want to train me?'' Sasuke replies. Shisui frowns as he realises Sasuke isn't going to talk about Itachi with him anymore.

''Off course I don't mind. But I heard you train a lot lately.''

It is true. Sasuke has been training a lot. He finishes his homework really fast and spends the rest of his time training if he is not with his mother cooking or with Sakura and Naruto.

''I need to be strong in order to protect myself. I heard there are rumours that talented children get captured. Since I have the Sharigan I have to be strong enough to protect myself.''

Shisui frowns even more. ''Who did you hear that from?''

''Children from my class.''

Shisui raises an eyebrow and Sasuke sighs.

''Naruto lived at the orphanage before. He saw this old man with bandages one day, talking to one of the children at the orphanage. That kid was quite talented at being a shinobi. The next day no one ever heard from him again. The child vanished.''

''That sounds like a story that children tell each other to scare each other.''

''One day when we had a lesson outside the academy an old man with bandages was looking at me and Naruto but we both didn't know him. Naruto called a teacher but the teacher said he was an important figure of the village and an Elder on the council.''

Shisui's eyes widen as he realises who Sasuke is talking about.

''He was really creepy. What if he was scouting for more talented people to kidnap? I have to be strong to protect myself and Naruto!'' Sasuke scowls at Shisui. He does not mention Sakura. They do not yet know about her.

''Sasuke, those are some serious accusations.''

''But what if he steals my eyes?''

''Your eyes?'' Shisui sounds confused and Sasuke rolls his eyes.

''He looked at my eyes the same way Naruto looks at the homemade lunch mom makes for me. Like he wants to steal it.''

''I am not sure-'' Shisui begins but gets cut off by Sasuke.

''But I guess you should be even more careful Shisui.''

Shisui points at himself. ''Me?''

Sasuke nods. ''You are more talented than me and obviously your eyes are stronger so he might go after you too. We have to be prepared.''

''You can't just accuse people of planning to steal eyes!''

''A shinobi must prepare before it is too late.'' Sasuke says eyes determined. ''So are you going to help me or not?''

''I will help you. But you know you are safe right? Your mother, father and Itachi would never let anything happen to you.''

''I know that they will protect me but if they are protecting me who is going to protect you?''

''I will be careful.'' Shisui responds.

Sasuke's eyes narrow.

''And prepared.''

''And prepared.'' Shisui relents.

Author's note

Another long chapter. I am warning you once we come to the funnier chapters they will be much shorter. I have had those chapters in my head for a long time but I am still not in that point of the story where I can put them and now I feel like maybe they won't fit in the story anymore.

Soooo hard to write this chapter...
