Akari and Rido had been enjoying their time alone together. The servants had all made themselves scarce, only appearing if they had been called upon.

"What time do you think Zero will arrive?" Rido asked as he cuddled up to Akari as the lay in bed together. Akari was sure that they had spent most of the week in bed, but not always sleeping.

"Hmmm...He would probably say goodbye to Cross before he left, mostly straight after class." She answered as she yawned. She looked over at the clock on the nightstand. "It's early morning now, so maybe in a couple of hours." She told him as she stretched out. Rido smirked and pulled her underneath himself.

"Plenty of time for some fun." He told her, his voice deep and rough. Akari giggled before their lips met.

Rido knew that in Akari's ecstasy she didn't hear Zero's arrival at the front door. He smirked as he came up with an idea. Suddenly, he pulled her off the bed and turned her so her back was to him. She felt his breath on her neck as he moved his lips up to her ear. She couldn't help but shiver with excitement. "Zero's back and want him to hear you scream." He whispered in her ear. "Scream in ecstasy for me." He almost growled before grabbing her by her hair, giving it a tug as he positioned her to kneel on the red velvet armed footstool that sat at the end of the bed. Akari used her hands to brace herself against the frame of the bed. "Scream for me." He growled before biting down on her neck The action caused the long await scream of pure ecstasy.

He held her to himself and gently massage her scalp with the hand he pulled her hair with. Once he had finished his drink, he licked at the puncher marks he left behind. As Akari breathed heavily and Rido could hear rushed foot stops coming towards their door. He didn't worry about Zero seeing them coming down from the high of making love, he knew their servants would stop him from entering.

Akari whispered Rido's name, she couldn't think or move. All she knew was it was Rido holding her up. Rido shushed her gently before picking her up bridal style. Akari smiled and snuggled up to him. Rido smiled back and laid her down on the bed. The moment her body hit the bed, she gave into the fatigue and fell asleep. Rido smiled and pulled the covers over her body.

As quietly as possible, Rido dressed himself before making his way to the banister that over looked the hallway. He saw an angry Zero pacing back and forth, the servants standing at the base of the stairs to stop Zero from getting closer to them. "Have you got anything to report?" Rido's voice boomed across the room. Zero froze and looked up the man he disposed with a glare. Rido matched the glare, he wanted to make sure that Zero knew that Akari was his. He wasn't sure what Zero's intentions were but he would make sure that the boy had a clear understanding that Akari was all his. "Are you going to answer me?" Rido asked, his hands gripping the banister tighter. Zero's insubordination towards him really wound him up.

"I will only give my report to Akari, she is the one who asked me to do this." Zero spoke up, still glaring. He had heard that scream and he was sure that Rido had intended him to hear it. Rido frowned and made his way down the stairs. His servants quickly moved away; they didn't want to get caught up in Rido's wrath.

"I allowed this to happen against my better judgement. She came to me because you wanted to do this. I did this for Akari." Rido growled as he reached the ground floor. "You should be thanking Akari that you're even still alive, she told you about your sickly twin. In fact, Akari is the only reason stopping me from killing you right now, hunter." He added as he walked towards Zero. His steps seemed slow but calculated, like a predictor closing in on its prey. "If I had my way, you would have been ripped to shreds on sight a long time ago." He was now face to face with Zero.

"Akari is the only reason I haven't killed you yet." Zero growled back. Rido's eyebrow twitched.

"I don't think you could possibly kill me, a pureblood." Rido growled back at him.

"I'd bring an army if I had to." Zero threatened. Rido held back a laugh, but he was also concerned about why Zero was getting very defensive.

"I'm not sure why you want to be her pet. And I don't know why Akari is willing to house a hunter and protect you but I will work it all out." He stated, his eyes changing as anger flowed through his veins. "Akari is mine and she will remain as mine." He added with a hiss.

"Do you love her?" Zero asked, taking Rido off guard. He blinked and leaned back slightly. He wasn't expecting such a question.

"Yes." He answered simply. It had taken him completely by surprise.

"Bullshit." Zero growled back. This brought Rido back to the present. He frowned, his anger on the boil once more.

"What do you know about love?" Rido hissed at him. "You're just a boy, I doubt you've even had your heartbroken yet." That statement made Zero think of Yuki. She may have been a pureblood in disguise but she had stolen his heart. When she died, it didn't break his heart, it was ripped it out. It was ripped out once more when he found out she was a pureblood.

"I have but that's not the point Kuran." Zero finally spoke up. "I've seen how to treat her; she's scared of you which means you've done something to her." He added, squaring up to Rido. He wasn't sure if this was smart or suicide. He was hoping that by suggesting he knew what Rido was doing, it would stop him from hurting her any more.

"I treat her how I want. If she doesn't like it, she can leave." Rido told him calmly. He knew that what Zero was talking about. Akari acting worried about be caught writing the letters and the time that it looked like he was strangling her. Rido found that laughable when Akari told him that Zero thought that he was strangling her. He was only reaching to tilt her neck and Zero had wondered in, the angle that he saw apparently looked like he was strangling her.

"I'm warning you now Kuran. If I ever see you hurting Akari again, I will kill you." Zero threatened him. "Akari won't be able to save you then." He added before Rido could mention Akari.

"If I get any whiff of you double crossing me, not only will I kill you, I'll let Akari have the final blow that will kill you." Rido threatened back.

"I would never betray Akari." Zero stated, crossing his arms over his chest, getting defensive. Rido's words echoed in his mind. He knew that Rido meant it and he also knew that Akari would have to help Rido. She would have to remain and continue to show loyalty, but he knew she didn't want him dead. She wanted him to live and kill the weak, it may sound as if she was using him. But she was allowing him to continue his hunting, to kill vampires. She was also teaching him about the ways of vampires, how they differ and the similarities. This was invaluable information for the vampire hunters association. It was important that he and Akari remained on good terms. The only thing that Zero didn't know was were Akari stood on hunting and killing humans. He assumed that she was with Kaname, not wanting to harm humans but living with Rido, maybe she would be for continuing the vampire ways.

"At least I know she has your loyalty. I have hers, that's all I need." Rido stated coldly. "Give me a report on that school, now. No more of this nonsense, no more beating around the bush." He added, getting annoyed, he wanted know what Zero had been told to say. He wanted to decode what they were unknowingly hinting at.

"I will only tell Akari." Zero hissed and went to walk past Rido to the stairs. Rido quickly grabbed Zero by the arm.

"She is resting. She is not to be disturbed." Rido's voice sounded threatening enough.

"I will report to her this evening then." Zero stated as he pulled his arm free.

Rido watched Zero closely as he allowed him to walk up the stairs. He waited until he couldn't hear Zero's footsteps anymore. He quickly made his way back to Akari, he didn't want her to wake up without him.
