Episode 12: New Mobotropolis Electrical Take Over
One day in the Iron Queen chamber of the Egg Dome, The Iron Queen is still displeased about the Freedom Fighters and their defenses blocking her entry. Just then, Snively opens the doors to her chamber. Seeing Snively, she crosses her arms and looks angry, but less.
She says, "I'm not happy with you, Snively.
"I know that, sweetie-darling, but…" Snively sheepishly says with a smile.
But the Iron Queen interrupts, "All of my enemies are protected within a city I can't enter. I have been openly mocked by those who should be my pawns. And I told you not to come back until you had a solution to this problem…"
Snively walks in and says, "B-b-b-but I have, my snuggle-dumplin!"
"You have thirty seconds and then I'm tossing you into the cell just like Eggman's," The Iron Queen firmly says.
Snively nervously asks, "Y-You wouldn't. would you…?"
Seeing how serious she is, Snively explains, "Sometime ago, the Freedom Fighters intelligence somehow created small machines called Nanites to construct New Mobotropolis what it is now. The Freedom Fighters' A.I. Nicole… used the nanites to transform the old city into the New Mobotropolis, the city we're having trouble with now."
He also shows a projection of New Mobotropolis.
After that, he shows a projection of Nicole, "But the solution lies within the problems themselves! The nanites are microscopic machines. Nicole is a purely digital being. They're purely technological-base."
Hearing the explanation, makes the Iron Queen very pleased, "Which means they're completely prone to my special brand of technomagic!"
She laughs and picks Snively up as she spins around, "Oh, Snivy-kins! It's the perfect plan!"
"All for you, my darling," Sniverly happily says.
Then says, "But there is more."
Hearing this, the Iron Queen stops spinning and asks, "There's more?"
"Yes. There is also a chance that the Freedom Fighters will know the danger Nicole will be in. Even though she is a Digital being, she is very close with them as a friend rather than just a computer. They'll most certainly make sure to have protection before we can do anything. And so… I created a Back-up plan," Snively says.
"A back-up plan?" The Iron Queen says, curiously.
"More like a new ally that I've just created, and A.I. similar to my Uncle's creation, A.D.A.M. In this case, it's a powerful virus that we can use to infiltrate the Freedom Fighters' system," Snively says.
"Hmm, I like that plan. Even if my technomagic on that A.I fail, it will let them off their guard until it's too late," The Iron Queen says.
"Yes my queen. And Phage will be the virus that will help take over New Mobotropolis. We just need a little time for him to infiltrate the system. And we can provide him the time he needs," Snively says.
"And time is what we'll give him," The Iron Queen says.
She tells Snively, "Rally up the Troops!"
Meanwhile in King Frederick Airbase of New Mobotropolis, Sonic, Eve, and Jazz are seeing tails at the airbase who are working on his plane.
"Yo, Tails, what's going on, man? Sonic calls out.
Tails turns to Sonic, "Hey, Sonic! I'm just putting the finishing touches on the New Tornado!"
"The ol' biplane never looked better. But Nicole could've built one for you in no time." Sonic says.
Tails answers, "I know. She even offered to. But what kind of mechanic would I be if I let her do everything for me? The Tornado is my plane, and it's my responsibility to get her up and running again."
"Make sense. So how is the X Tornado and other planes doing?" Eve asks.
"They're doing great. I put up some new upgrades and plan on making more airships and other machines," Tails says
Eve then turns to Sonic, "So Sonic, what did Sally want to talk to you about?"
"Well, I, uh, you see," Sonic says, feeling embarrassed.
Jazz tilts her head, "Chao?"
Suddenly, the city's alarm goes off.
"Hold that thought," Sonic says.
"Is the Iron Dominion attacking again?" Tails says, confused.
"Let's go," Eve says.
With that the fox, hedgehogs, and Chao run into the city and soon meet up with Nicole who appears in the street.
"What's the word, Nicole?" Sonic asks.
"The Iron Dominion appears to be staging a full invasion…" Nicole says.
Suddenly, Nicole, Sonia, Manic, and Ken arrive.
Sally calls out, "Nicole! Report!"
"I'm raising the city's protective force field now. The Iron Queen's forces are taking their time and made no effort to hide their approach," Nicole says.
"I don't like this. They're being too forward," Sally says.
"They aren't known for their subtlety," Ken says.
"But it does seem arrogant and reckless, even for them. They're up to something," Eve says.
"Yeah. I don't like the looks of it at all," Sonic says.
Nicole says, "I'll go over there and see what they want."
"Whoa whoa whoa! You're not going out there, are you?" Eve asks.
"How come?" Nicole asks.
"The word technomagic, technomage mean anything? Plus, remember what happened to Bunnie and Ken. Imagine if she uses it on you," Eve says, worried.
Sonia realizes, "Eve's right. If you go out there, the Iron Queen could use her magic to turn you against us."
"And boom, you'll be pledging allegiance to the Iron Queen," Manic adds.
Sally turns to Nicole, "Nicole, can you create a special protective program that could prevent the Iron Queen's technomagic on you?"
"Yes. It will only take a few minutes," Nicole says.
Nicole then stands still and creates the special program that could repels the Iron Queen's abilities on her.
Then says, "The protective program is complete."
"Now we can relax knowing that these doofuses have no clue about this one," Manic says.
"I'm afraid that it might not be simple. The Iron Dominion will know it the moment Nicole isn't put under her control. They might try to put on an attack right away," Sonia says.
"I agree. We need to put in an emergency evacuation, but we'll need to be discreet about it so the Iron Dominion doesn't notice," Sally says.
"Yeah. Then let's do this and fast," Sonic says.
Sally turns to Nicole, "Nicole, I need you to be careful when confronting her. Keep her busy until the city's citizens have evacuated."
"Understood," Nicole says, then disappears.
Sally turns to the others, "The rest of us will round up the Freedom Fighters and Team Dark, and they'll help us evacuate the citizens to the castle. That's where the underground tunnel to Lower Mobius."
"Then let's do it to it," Sonic says.
With that, the Freedom Fighters split up to gather up the neighbors and evacuate the city.
Meanwhile, the Iron Dominion and the Yagyu Ninja are at the front of the city and ready for an attack.
Snively helps the Iron Queen off the hovercraft, "This way, my queen."
"Thank you, dear Snively," The Iron Queen says.
Jun-Kun crosses his arms and says, "Careful with your tone, Regina. You don't want the lackeys to feel too familiar with you."
"Oh! Calm down, Jun-Kun…! Snively knows his place." The Iron Queen says.
The Iron Queen turns to Snively with a calm smile, and Snively then gets in her hovercraft. Once inside, he brings out his computer and begins to type and perform the program. He has his special back-up ready in case the first plan doesn't work.
Just then, Nicole appears in front of her, "And you apparently do not. As Steward and Administrator of this city. I am informing you of your trespasses. You will leave now."
The Iron Queen maniacally laughs and says, "As a masterful technomage, I am exerting my will over yours, my digital dearie! You are mine now!"
The Iron Queen then begins to use her technomagic on Nicole. Nicole is confident, but still deeply hopes that the protective program she has will work.
Snively types on the computer as he mutters, "Even if the Freedom Fighters find a way to prevent their friend from being controlled, byt special virus will take care of the work for us."
Back in the city, the Freedom Fighters are helping with the evacuation the best they can. Sonic and Eve rush the children to the castle. The rest of the Freedom Fighters also help escort them to the castle. Cream, Cheese, Maria, and Jazz help the Chaos who are living at the Power Ring Lake to get to the castle as well.
In the castle, Sally, along with King Acorn, Elias, Geoffrey, and Hershey help the citizens to the secret tunnel that leads them to Lower Mobius.
Hershey calls out, "Alright everyone! Single file line. Women and children first!"
"I hope we can get everyone to Lower Mobius," Goeffrey says.
"We got to get everyone inside as fast as we could. We made sure Nicole has a protective shield, but we can't take the risk in case they're able to get in," Sally says.
"Where are Sonic, Eve, and the others?" Elias asks.
"They're trying to get everyone evacuated as fast as they can, and it might be possible that we might need to evacuate some to Angel Island," Sally answers.
Everyone else remains outside of the city as they evacuate everyone to the castle. In case they do get in, Locke and Knuckles allow the remaining citizens to stay on Angel Island for the time being," Sally says.
Outside of the castle, Sonic, Eve, and the other Freedom Fighters are helping everyone into the castle.
"I didn't realize there's so many people in the city," Nic says.
"Me too, but we can't stop there. We need to get everyone to the castle," Amy says.
Outside of the city's limit, the Iron Queen struggles to cast her magic on Nicole, so far, Nicole isn't being put under the Iron Queen's control. At the same time, Snively continues to type in the program, and watch the screen.
Suddenly, Snively hears a sinister, electrical voice and says, "Snively, I'm in the New Mobotropolis Computer System."
Snively evilly smirks, "Excellent."
The Iron Queen stops the magic to see Nicole has become immune to it.
"Sorry Iron Queen, but we took the precaution to install a special protective program against your magic. I refuse to be under your control," Nicole says, and crosses her arms.
The Iron Queen turns to Snively. Snively looks at the Iron Queen with a calm smile and holds out his hand with two fingers making a circle. That makes the Iron Queen smile and in an evil way.
The Iron Queen turns to Nicole, "Oh, that is too bad. I was hoping that you would let us into your city. But that's only, we'll just let ourselves in."
Suddenly, part of the city's gate opens up on it's own, much to Nicole's shock.
"What?!" Nicole says, shocked.
"Sorry my dear, but you are no longer in charge of the city's computer system," The Iron Queen says with an evil smile.
Suddenly, Nicole feels something off with her system and suddenly disappears into the digital system.
Just then, Jun-Kun shouts, "Finally! The city falls to the Iron Dominion!"
With that, he along with the Yagyu Ninjas and the Dark Legionnaires charge to the city and plan to take over. Soon enough, the Freedom Fighters are beginning to notice the enemy is now in the city.
"Oh, mah stars…" Bunnie says, shocked.
"Bunnie! Leave!" Eve cries out.
"But you'll need mah help…" Bunnie says.
But Eve shouts, "Fly! Now!"
Bunnie reluctantly nods her head and flies up ,"This is the right thing to do. And be a danger to them. Ah'm not runnin' because ah'm afraid. Ah'm doin' this for… oh no!"
Suddenly, the hatch to the city begins to close, and now it's closed shut, leaving it in pitch darkness.
"S-Sonic…?" Tails says, worried.
"Sit tight, little bro. I can't see a thing yet, but once I can, I'll…" Sonic says.
Suddenly, the lights turn on all of the sudden.
"... okay. That really doesn't help," Sonic says.
Suddenly, a strange male, electrical voice says, "Attention citizens. You are under arrest for defying the will of the Iron Dominion. Resistance will be met with strict punishment."
Soon, the people who haven't already evacuated are beginning to scream and panic.
Sonic calls out to the people, "Guys! Guys! Chill out!"
Hearing this, Sonia says, "That… that doesn't sound like Nicole at all! Something's wrong!"
"We have no time for this," Eve says.
Then uses her comlink, "Vector, you and the Chaotix start using your Warp Rings to get anyone you can find and take them to Angel Island."
"Got it Eve!" Vector says on the other line.
At the different parts of the city, Mighty, Vector, and Ray use their Warp Rings to open up in different parts of the city.
Vector calls out, "Get to the Warp Ring and run through it pronto!"
Hearing that, many of the citizens are hurrying towards the Warp Ring. Mighty also helps the citizens though the portals as well.
Back at the castle, Sally calls out, "Civilians, hurry through the tunnel. We almost got everyone!"
King Acorn says, "royal Guards! Pair up and create a perimeter!"
"This is madness…" Ken says, looking around.
Sally turns to Ken, "Ken, I need you to make sure everyone outside of the castle gets inside and then go help everyone inside."
"You can count on me," Ken says.
He then hurries down the hall. Soon, Ken sees the Yagyu ninjas and begins to fight against them with full force as the civilians continue to run towards the tunnel under the castle. At another part of the city, Sonic, Tails, Eve, and Jazz are fighting against the Yagyu Ninja and the Legionnaire.
Tails dodge the shurikens, "Yow! Where is everyone?!"
"I don't know. It's like trying to fight in a strobe light," Sonic says, and punches one of the Legionnaires
Suddenly, Sonia calls out, "Sonic! Over here!"
"Finally!" Sonic says, and hurries over.
"How did we even get split up like that?" Sonic asks.
"It doesn't matter because we're sticking together now," Sonia says.
"I can't see well enough to kick all the deserving butts, so it looks like we need a brilliant plan for this one," Sonic says.
Suddenly, the Legionnaires and Ninjas perform an attack, but Sonia, Eve, and Tails intervene.
"Like I said… a plan, and print. You know it's bad when Tails is stealing my thunder," Sonic says.
"Hey," Tails replies.
Sonic laughs, "Kidding kidding."
"I'm more worried about Nicole. Something's wrong," Eve says.
"She's right. Something must have happened," Sonia says.
"And our problem stems from a total lack of control. We need to find her and figure out what happened. That weird voice doesn't sound like her at all," Eve says.
"Sure, How?" Sonic asks.
"If we can get to Freedom HQ. Sonia and I can access the city's mainframe from the lab," Tails says.
"Then we have a plan," Sonia says.
"Sweet! Then let's get out of here before things get any…" Sonic says.
Suddenly, the Iron King shows up and swings his club to the ground, causing the other to dodge the attack.
"Worse…" Sonic says.
Then says, annoyed, "Seriously, did you take classes in 'dramatic timing'?
Jun-Kun turns to the Freedom Fighters, "Spare yourself further embarrassment, Fighters. Bow before your king."
"We wouldn't bow to Eggman, and he was twice the tyrant you are," Sonia says.
Suddenly Ken comes at Jun-Kun and strikes him with thunder from his bat, "Take a knee yourself."
"Ken," Sonia says, surprised.
Ken turns to Sonia, "I'll hold him here. I'm trusting you to get you to protect Sonia and you all escape."
"Right. Good luck, buddy," Sonic says.
"And you," Ken says.
Sonic then picks up Sonia and the group hurry away from the scene as Ken fights off Jun-Kun.
"Ken!" Sonia cries out.
Meanwhile, in the Detention Center of New Mobotropolis, Snively walks down the stairs to see his uncle in one of the cells.
Snively walks over and says, "Hello, uncle."
Seeing his nephew, Eggman says, "Colin! Where have you been? Would you like to see my latest figures?"
"No," Snively says with a scowl expression.
Then says, "I came to see what was left of you. I came to see the man who once ruled a planet reduced to mad rambling. You can't even keep track of what period of your life you're in, can you? All the cruelty. All the threats. All the bullying. And do you see who's in charge? I saw you as a stepping stone from day one, and now I'm finally where I want to be."
The bellows with pride, "The city and people you've struggled to conquer will be mine in a matter of minutes! I'll be lording over a newer, stronger, empire than you ever imagined! With Regina at my side, the world will cower at the mere mention of Snively Robotnik!"
Suddenly, Eggman asks, "Goodness, when did you lose all your hair?"
Snively simply looks at Eggman with a dumbfounded face and simply walks away.
Back in the city, The Chaotix and the Freedom Fighters are still trying to get the citizens out of the city and on to Angel Island.
"We're split up and outnumbered! And now we need to get everyone through the Warp Ring," Vector says.
"It is hard to concentrate in ze hot of battle," Antoine says, fighting the Ninjas.
Bunnie punches the Legionnaires, "You can say that again."
Antoine then turns to Bunnie, "Bunnie, you need to go with them?"
"What?! Ah cain't leave you here all alone!" Bunnie panics.
"I will find ze others and regroup? You are vulnerable to ze technomagic," Antoine says.
"But…" Bunnie worriedly sys.
Antoine walks to Bunnie and says, "I cannot protect you against ze Iron Queen…! You will be safe on Angel Island, and I will be having the pieces of mind."
Bunnie hugs Antoine and says, "'Peace.' Sugar-twan. Not that long ago, you'd be the first one runnin' for the exit."
"Oui, and you have given me ze strength I need to do this. Hurry before zey leave," Antoine says.
Then turns to the villains, "A-and now, you villains. Y-y-you face m-my blade…"
"And mah arm!" Bunnie comes out and uses her extended arm at the ninjas and legionnaires.
"Mon dieu!" Anotine says, surprised.
Then turns to Antoine, "But-but-but-but-!"
"Sho' it's dangerous. But when ah married you, ah swore 'For better or for worse.'" Bunnie says.
Antoine smiles and says, "You are a remarkable woman, and I am ze very lucky man."
"So' nuff. Now… let's show these jokers what happens when they come messin' with our city," Bunnie says.
With that, the married couple begin to charge.
"Voici La puissance de notre amour!" Antoine calls out.
Bunnie shouts, "Yee-haw!"
At the castle, everyone has evacuated into the tunnel.
Sally turns to her dad and the others, "Geoffrey. Hershey. Go in the tunnel with my family and the rest of the citizens."
"What about you, Sally?" Elias asks.
"I'm needed here. At least you all will be safe," Sally says.
"Okay, but be careful sis," Elias says.
"Be safe, Sally," King Acorn says.
"I will," Sally says.
King Acorn, Elias, Goeffrey, and Hershey hurry through the secret door to the tunnel, and Sally quickly locks as she closes the door. Soon, many of the Freedom Fighters including Team Dark and some of the Chaotix arrived at the air front. However, they discover two more of New Mobotropolis citizens have remain behind, a young blonde hedgehog and a baby spider
"Maria? What are you and Shun still doing here?" Shadow asks.
"You're supposed to be with dad?" Eve asks.
Maria nervously says, "I… I know, but I want to help, and Shun really misses you, Eve. We kind of want to help you."
Shun reaches out to Eve as she makes baby sounds. Eve sighs and picks Shun up in her arms.
"I still want to know what's going on here," Topaz says.
"Yeah. The place is shutting down. It's a good thing we got everyone out here, but we're the only ones here," Molly says.
Sally looks at her computer pad, "And I'm not receiving anything from Nicole."
"Something is definitely wrong. That voice we heard doesn't sound like her," Eve says.
"We better get out of the city and head to Freedom HQ to figure out the problem," Sally Sally says.
Suddenly a malicious, technical male voice says, "I'm afraid it won't be possible at this point."
The group becomes confused and soon, mechanical hands from the street appear and surround them.
"You were warned. Now I must take matters into my own hands," The voice says.
The group looks up to see the screen turn on. To the group's shock, the being on the screen is not Nicole at all, but a strange black mass with a large mouth, serrated teeth and a white kitten-like mask possessing triangular ears with red inner ears and a triangular pink nose, as its face. The mask also has yellow eyes and three pink markings-a ring on each cheek and forehead which are connected to her eyes and the back of her head by three red lines.
The digital being says, "It's a pleasure to meet you Freedom Fighters along with the Chaotix and G.U.N agents, Team Dark."
"Who are you?! What have you done with Nicole?!" Sally demands.
"My name is Phage, A special A.I program to take over your precious city. And as for your precious A.I friend, Nicole…" Phage says.
Then moves a bit to reveal Nicole who is trapped in some prison. Her legs are pressed together as her arms are spread out, and she is in a sleeping state. The group gasps in shock and dismay.
"Nicole!" Sally says, shocked.
Phage says, "I have so much to discuss with her, and you are not going anywhere."
Just then, the robotic arms begin to reach for the Freedom Fighters. Sally then uses her Ring Blades to cut one of them. Eve then uses her sword to slice the other one. Sonic then spins one of the arms.
Sonic says, "We gotta get to the Tornado, now!"
Molly then fires at one of the digital arms, "Get going, we'll hold them off!"
Bunnie then fires her blaster at them.
Sally calls out, "Alright Sonic, Tails, Eve, Sonia, Maria, Shadow, and Topaz. You're with me on the Tornado. Everyone else, try to keep them busy the best you can."
Hearing that, everyone else begins to fight against the digital arms while Sonic, Eve and the others are hurrying to the Tornado. Topaz sits in the back seat with Maria, Shun, and Jazz. Tails sit in the front seat while Sonic, Eve, Sally, and Shadow stand on the wing.
Sonic shouts, "Go go go! Punch it, Tails!"
"You got it, Sonic!" Tails says.
Tails starts the engine and drives the plane over the ramp and it begins to take for the sky. Just the, the giant robotic hand grabs hold of the plane's tail.
Sonic says, "Hit the thrusters! I'll get you loose!"
Sonic then jumps and spin dashes at the hand, soon it disappears.
Sonic lands on the hand, "Thanks, I needed a hand."
Sonic then jumps off and lands on the wing.
"Nicely done, Sonic!" Sally says.
"Thanks, but it won't do us any good if we can't find a way out," Sonic says.
"Then we'll just have to make our own way out," Eve says.
Meanwhile, Monkey Khan is still fighting against Jun Kun.
He turns to see the problem, "They're trapped…"
"And you are finished!" Jun-Kun says, about to give Ken the blow.
But Amy blocks the attack with her own hammer, "Oh, no, you don't!"
Amy then places her hammer on the ground, "If you're going to fight, fight fair! He wasn't paying attention!"
"No tiny pink girl will tell the Iron King how to crush his enemies!" Jun-Kun angrily says.
Amy then swings her hammer at him, "Who are you calling 'Tiny'?!"
Jun-Kun falls to the ground and feels dizzy from the hit.
Dumbfounded, Ken replies, "Um…"
Amy turns to Ken with anger, "What?!" You think I'm small and weak, too?!"
"No!" Ken quickly answers.
Then says, "I was just going to say that was amazing!"
Amy smiles, "Tee-hee! You really think so? Well, you go on and let me be amazing. You need to help my Sonic and the others escape."
"If you're sure…?" Ken replies, skeptic.
"Don't worry! I'll handle everything here!" Amy says.
Ken then conjures up a cloud and flies away on it to meet Sonia, Sally, and the others.
Jun-Kun gains his focus and angrily glares at Amy.
Then brings out his club, "You will pay for your insolence!"
"Only if you stop swinging like a wuss!" Amy angrily says.
They both then swing their hammers and collide with each other. Meanwhile, Ken is able to reach the Tornado with the others on it.
"Are you okay, Sonia?" Ken asks, concerned.
"I'm fine! What about you?" Sonia asks, concerned.
"Fine," Ken answers.
"What happened to Iron Dork?" Sonic asks.
"I believe her name is Amy Rose," Ken says.
Eve grins and says, "Oh I see. Jun Kun is going to have his hands full with her."
Sally then asks, "Ken, Eve, Shadow. I think combine, you can show us the way to the exit."
"I think I can manage that," Ken says.
Eve says, "Then let's go for it."
Shadow nods his head in reply.
Shadow then creates Chaos energy and shouts, "Chaos Spear!"
"Chaos Arrow!" Eve shouts launching an arrow.
Then Ken uses his bat and creates lighting. Then launch towards the attacks. Soon, all three attacks create a giant hole, big enough for them all to get through. Tails flies the plane as fast as he can until they are able to escape the dome and the city.
Sally turns to Tails, "Tails, get us to Freedom HQ as fast as you can. If we can't rescue Nicole, then we've lost everyone in the city and the Iron Dominion Wins."
Tails nods his head and flies the plane to Freedom HQ. They are glad they are able to escape, but their friends and comrades are still trapped inside. Sally is right, if they can't save Nicole and stop this, then the Iron Dominion wins.
