Episode 13: Rescue Mission in CyberSpace Part 1

At Freedom HQ, Sonic, Eve, and the others who have escaped the lock down attack are now in the computer room, trying to figure out how to defeat this Phage and rescue Nicole from its clutches. It's basically the only place where they're able to go in order to escape the clutches of the Iron Dominion.

"I can't believe the Iron Dominion has created some kind of virus to hack into the city's system," Sonic says.

"We're not happy about this ourselves. Snively has managed to sneak a virus into her system without any of us knowing," Eve says.

Shadow says, "At least the Iron Queen is not able to control Nicole."

"Yes, but now Nicole is being held captive," Sonic says.

Sally sadly says, "I felt that it's my fault. I didn't think that Snively would find a way to get into Nicole's system.

"It's not your fault, Sally. None of us ever suspected the Iron Queen and Snively to create this Phage character," Ken says.

"Yeah. That, and you make it sound like we've already lost. Did you forget we escaped? More important, that Eve and I escaped. We've come back from way worse than this Sal," Sonic says.

Then turns to Sally, "So stop wallowing in self-pity and start coming up with a plan!"

"I am not wallowing in self-" Sally shouts, but stops to see Sonic has a point.

She sighs and says, "You're right, Sonic. Thank you."

"It's what I'm here for, Sal," Sonic says.

Ken scratches his head, "The two of you baffle me."

Sonic leans to Ken and says with a smirk, "don't try to figure it out, man. It's something that comes from serious relationships over time."

"Ah, I'm sure I'll find that out myself," Ken jokes.

"Alright you two, enough with the joke. We need to figure out a way to rescue Nicole and get her out of Phage's grasp," Sonia says.

Sally walks to Tails, who is typing on the computer, "Any progress hacking into the city's mainframe?"

"No way!" Tails says, confused.

Then says, "Nicole cannot be hacked! I can mostly keep up with her in my head, but I just can't type that fast. Snively must have created a powerful virus to hack into her system."

"And it might not be time before Phage can figure out how to shut off Nicole's defenses," Topaz says.

Maria asks, "But um, how can we get Nicole out of there, if we're here?"

Suddenly Eve has an idea, "Maybe we can go into the digital world ourselves."

The group turns to Eve with confused faces.

Eve turns to Sonic and Shadow, "Guys, remember when we digitized ourselves to access Grandfather Gerald's diary."

"Yeah, so…" Sonic says, confused.

Suddenly, Tails says, "The particle-to-light organizer and transporter device! We used the technology from the machine and disc Professor Gerald made to create it. That'd be perfect."

Tails then hurries over, "I'll get everything set up."

Confused Ken asks, "Care to fill me in about it?"

"It actually happened around a year ago. Black Arms aliens invaded Mobius and it turns out Eve and Shadow have been created with the DNA of their leader," Sonia says.

"Eve is an alien hybrid?" Ken says, confused.

Eve sighs, "It's a long story. Anyway, when we found the disc containing my grandfather's diary, Sonic, Shadow, and I digitized ourselves into the system to find some answers. Tails can upload us directly into the city's computer system through the particle-to-light organizer and transporter device. Then we can go in there and rescue Nicole from inside the computer system."

"It's a plan, at least. Alright… let's do this," Sally says.

"As much as I like the direct route, is that even remotely safe?" Ken asks.

"It's actually safe. Even though it's something that is brazenly bound to get the Iron Queen's attention. We need you, Sonia, Tails, Maria, and Topaz to stay here to watch over," Eve says.

"But I don't even know how to work a computer," Ken says.

"She means the base, banana-brains! Tails and Sonia will monitor us while we're cruising cyberspace," Sonic says.

Tails works on the machine, "I'll upload you guys as deep into the mainframe as I can access. You'll have to 'hack' your way in from there."

"Sounds good, pal," Sonic says, giving Tails a thumbs up.

Sonic, Sally, Eve, and Shadow gather together. Jazz sits on Eve's head.

Maria walks over, holding Shun and asks, "Are you going to be okay?"

"We will Maria, but you'll have to keep an eye on Shun," Eve says.

Maria nods her head, "Okay."

Alright Tails, Juice us!" Sonic says.

"Digitizing!" Tails says, and presses the button.

The laser fires, absorbing Sonic, Eve, Sally, and Shadow and downloading them into the computer.

"There has to be another way…" Ken says, concerned.

In a place known as the digital world, Sonic, Eve, Shadow, and Sally appear in front of what looks like the front of New Mobotropolis.

"Sweet! We're right at the front gates!" Sonic says.

"Well, not precisely," Sally says.

"But… I see the gate," Sonic says, walking towards it.

Sally says, "If we've been digitized. Then this just how we're perceiving the defensive measures Phage put up against us."

"Look, let's keep this simple, okay? I'm going to 'perceive' me spin dashing that gate into little 'perceived' bits," Sonic says.

"Be my guest," Sally says.

"Bonza!" Sonic shouts and prepares to spin dash, but the gate opens.

"Oops! Nevermind!" Sonic quickly says.

Shadow steps forward, "I think Phage is expecting us."

"I'm guessing taking caution is the best way at this point," Eve says.

"Sounds good to me," Sally says.

Sonic groans and says, "Fine."

The four then begin to walk inside the digital version of New Mobotropolis.

Meanwhile Nicole is still unconscious and imprisoned in a digital prison. Nicole soon regains her consciousness and feels a bit dizzy.

"Wha-what happened?" Nicole asks.

Suddenly, Nicole remembers what has happened and quickly gets up. She soon notices that she isn't able to feel her hands. That's because they've been restrained by digital cuffs and prevent her hands from moving.

"What is this place? What happened?" Nicole wonders looking around.

Suddenly, she hears a mysterious and malicious voice, "Quite fascinating. A digital being able to project a physical body…"

Nicole gasps in shock and looks around to wonder where the voice is coming from.

"Now that's interesting. Intriguing. FASCINATING!" The voice says.

Nicole soon turns around and becomes shocked to see the other digital being, standing in front of her.

"Such a unique digital being. So you're the famous Nicole the Holo-Lynx. It's so nice to finally meet you," The digital being says.

"Wh-who are you?" Nicole asks.

"Oh. You can call me Phage," The being says.

Nicole is rather stunned to see another A.I like her, but maybe she can get some answers as to what happened.

"You are an A.I as well?" Nicole asks.

"Essentially," Phage answers.

Nicole then asks, "What are you doing here?"

"Learning. Growing. It's what I do," Phage answers.

Nicole is very suspicious about the new A.I and suspects he might be responsible for what happened to her system, and possibly work for the Iron Dominion.

Phage circles around her, "You are unusual. You've created a body for yourself. To interact with the physical world."

"Um… yes…" Nicole answers.

Hage uses his mass to and places it under Nicole's chin. Then lifts it so she will face him.

He asks, "Why?"

Nicole is silent for a minute, but then answers, "... curiosity, I spouse. I envied my friends, and… well… I spouse you'll tell me that's foolish. Illogical."

"No. You're unusual. Different Fascinating," Phage says.

Nicole then asks firmly, "So… you're the one interfering with the mainframe of New Mobotropolis."

"Yes," Phage answers.

"You also worked for the Iron Dominion?" Nicole questions.

"Yes," Phage answers.

"And I suspect that you and Snively hacked into my system," Nicole asks

"Yes," Phage answers.

Before Nicole can ask or say anything else. She feels something. She looks down to see the black digital mass is coiling around her body. Soon, reaches to pin her arms and work up to her upper body. Nicole struggles, but she isn't able to break free.

"That's cute. Amusing. Mildly entertaining. I'm here with certain objectives, Nicole. I infiltrated your city's system before you even knew it was happening. Now I have you, and you cannot stop me," Phage says.

Then leans his mask towards her and says, "You're mine now."

Nicole continues to struggle to break free of Phage's grasp, but she isn't able to. Suddenly, Phage senses something off, something new, something that could be trouble.

"Hmm, it appears I sense some intruders," Phage says.

He then creates a screen to see Sonic, Eve, Nicole, and Shadow. Nicole gasps to see the others are inside the digital world.

"It appears that we'll have to continue another time. For now, I have to deal with these annoying intruders," Phage says.

Then leaves the area digitally and Nicole is trapped inside.

Somewhere in the Digital world, Sonic, Eve, and the others are still looking for Nicole.

"Where is that Virus?" Sally angrily questions, looking around.

"You look kind of frustrated," Sonic says.

"You'll be too, that stupid Iron creep and her little virus got Nicole," Eve says.

"We just need to find her and get out of here," Sonic says.

Suddenly, someone says, "Oh, I'm afraid you won't be leaving here so easily."

The group looks around to hear the strange voice.

Shadow says, "Keep your guard up."

Suddenly, Phage appears in front of the group.

"Well well, if it isn't Sonic the Hedgehog, Eve the Hedgehog, and Princess Sally Acorn of the Freedom Fighters. And of course, Shadow the Hedgehog of G.U.N," Phage says.

"Yeah yeah. We already know who you are already. Now, where's Nicole?" Sonic sternly says.

"She's safe for the time being. However, you won't be soon enough," Phage says.

"You took Nicole so where is she. If you or the Iron Dominion have done anything to her," Sally angrily says.

"My aren't you all being aggressive," Phage taunts.

"Enough of this, release Nicole or we'll find her ourselves," Shadow says, aggressively.

"I'm afraid I cannot do that," Phage says.

Eve suddenly becomes nervous, having behind them and says, "Uh… guys…"

Then points up, "I think we got a problem!"

The three turn their heads and become shocked to see a digital form of the Iron Queen has appeared.

She maniacally laughs and says, "I seem to have a group of viruses in my new city's system!"

"I'll just have to purge you!" The Iron Queen shouts and fires.

Sonic picks up Sally and runs away as Shadow and Eve run in the opposite direction.

From where Eve and Shadow are, the two are being chased by Phage.

Phage continues to chase them.

Phage says, "So you both are known as the Ultimate Lifeforms. You both will become mine to examine! To take apart! To absorb!"

"No way, you crazy virus!" Eve shouts.

Shadow then creates Chaos energy spear and shouts, "Chaos Spear!"

Then throws it at Phage, but the virus quickly dodges the attack. Eve jumps on one of the buildings and creates her Chaos energy bow and arrow.

"Chaos Arrow!" Eve shouts, and launches the attack.

Just then, it strikes Phage on his back.

Phage groans and soon angrily says, "You… insolent… stupid… brat!"

Then fires an electric thunder at Eve. Eve quickly dodges, but is pushed back from the explosion. Shadow quickly catches her and speeds away from Phage.

Phage angrily glares at them, "I'll tear you both apart!"

Then chases after them with full rage. Meanwhile, Sonic and Sally are being chased by the Iron Queen.

Sonic, who is carrying Sally says, "We need to come up with a plan!"

"We have to do something about the Iron Queen and Phage," Sally says.

"Yeah, about that…" Sonic says.

Then jump up and run on the castle, "I get that she's a techno-wizard, or whatever, but I'm pretty sure we didn't have a digitizer in the city… so how the heck is she here?!"

In the real world, the Iron Queen and Snively are in the throne room of Acorn Castle. The Iron Queen is actually using her staff to connect herself to the network.

She maniacally laughs as she says, "Run-run-run, you little bugs!"

Curious, Snively asks, "What's going on? I can't see!"

"Don't bother me right now! I'm busy!" The Iron Queen sternly answers.

Seeing that she is busy, Snively decides to leave so the Iron Queen can carry her work. Soon, he ends up meeting Lien-Da with paper files.

With a grin, Lien-Da mocks, "Aw, is little Snivy-kins not getting all the attention he needs?"

"Watch your tone, Lien-Da. You may be Grandmaster now, but you still answer to me," Snively sternly says.

"Of course, forgive me," Line-Da says, rolling her eyes.

Then Snviely demands, "Whatever. Status report?"

"The Iron King is having a merry time smashing the city and anyone resisting us. The Yagyu and my Legionnaires… are rounding up anyone they find… and locking them up, just like your uncle."

Trapped in the Detention Center, Dr. Eggman is awake and sitting on the bed. He turns to one of the cells to see Molly and Leon are trapped inside.

Leon groans, "I can't believe we got caught by them."

"At least it gave the others time to get away," Molly says.

"I know, but we need to do something before things get worse," Leon says.

Suddenly, they hear Eggman say, "Hello young ones. You don't have to worry for the time being. It's been so long to see someone like me around, I'll put a good word for the king that you can work with me."

Molly says concern, "I'm worried that his uh, condition might be getting worse."

"No offense Eggman, crazy or not, we've got no patience for your babbling," Leon says.

That has Eggman thinking, "'Eggman?' That used to be something someone teased me about… but I turned it around and named something after it…."

He then brings out his glasses, "I used to go by 'Julian' But it's been ages since then, haven't it? I go by 'Robotnik' over the years… and now 'Eggman'..."

Then places his glasses on, "... of My Eggman Empire."

Back in the Digital World, Sonic continues to use his speed to dodge the Iron Queen's attack.

Soon, drops Sally off, "Alright, I'll see if U can distract Iron Quirk while you do your thing."

"Right, be careful!" Sally says.

Sonic says, "Ha! Where's the fun in being careful!"

Sonic then begins to spin dash, "Get ready for a super sonic black eye, queenie!"

Suddenly, two figures end up being smacked into Sonic, and all three fall to the ground. Sonic sits up and looks to see Eve and Shadow are sitting up as well.

"Hey, what's the big idea?" Sonic angrily asks.

Shadow angrily turns to Sonic, "That virus Phage is right after us and threw us."

"And boy is he mad," Eve adds.

The three turn their heads to see Phage is coming at them. Sally hurries over to the three hedgehogs as Jazz leads her to them.

"Are you okay?" Sally asks.

"I think so, but it seems that Phage is going to be harder to beat than we thought," Eve says.

"And so is she," Sonic points out to the Iron Queen.

Both villains fire their attacks, Sonic, Eve, Sally, and Shadow hurry out of the way as they try to escape from their grasp. To them, it looks like rescuing Nicole and stopping those two is going to be harder than they thought.
