Episode 14: Rescue Mission in CyberSpace Part 2

Trapped in Cyberspace, Sonic, Eve, Sally, Shadow, and Jazz are surrounded by the large techno version of the Iron Queen and Phage, a powerful virus, created by Snively. Nicole is still captured and the group are surrounded, even though they still plan on a rescue mission.

"Well, it appears that you are up against two powerful programmers. The Iron Queen is sure that you will be obsolete when she gets through with you," Phage says.

"Oh yeah. We're not leaving until we get Nicole back and kick you creeps out of this place," Sonic says.

"Really. You naughty little viruses think you can stop me. Don't make me laugh," The Iron Queen says with an evil smile.

Eve angrily says, "I wouldn't call us viruses if I were you, you Techno-witch!"

"Aw, cute little insult, but I'm afraid you're going to be deleted," The Iron Queen says, and begins to fire at them.

"Look out! Sally calls out.

Everyone quickly moves out of the way. Sonic and Eve perform spin dashes and each try to strike at the Iron Queen. The Iron Queen then blocks their attack with a firewall. Sally and Shadow end up facing Phage. Sally dodges Phage's attack and tries to strike him with her Ring Blades. When Phage tries to strike her, she turns one of them into a shield and protects herself.

Shadow then fires, "Chaos Spear!"

They all strike at Phage, but it doesn't seem to cause much damage.

"How are we supposed to beat them?" Shadow questions.

Eve suddenly lands on the ground. Then brings out her sword, "We'll just have to fight them the best we can. Then, we'll need to find Nicole."

"I just hope the others are doing better back in the real world than we are," Sonic says.

Back in Freedom HQ of the Real World, Tails and the others are doing the best they can from their end.

Confused, Ken asks, "What was that?! A ton of coding just flashed across the screen!"

"The others must be fighting against this Phage and the Iron Queen. This is looking bad…" Tail says.

Curious, Ken asks, "About Nicole… does she physically exist in the city?"

"Sort of. The Bulk of her code was uploaded to the city's mainframe so she could run the nanites better. She's been doing this for a long time," Sonia says.

"And where is that mainframe?" Ken asks.

"It's set below Castle Acorn, but there's an access tunnel that runs from the science center. Not like it does us any good right now," Tails answers.

"No. No good can be done at this point," Ken says.

Soon, Ken begins to walk away as Tails and Sonia work on the computer.

Maria asks, "Um, Ken, where are you going? Will you be alright?"

"I'll… I'll be fine… I need to take care of this," Ken answers, and walks out of the room.

"Take care of this? What does that mean?" Topaz asks.

Suddenly, Sonia stops typing, "... Wait a minute…"

Sonia then hurries outside to see Ken riding on a cloud and flying away.

"Ken, wait…" Sonia calls out.

Tails flies after him, "Where are you going?"

"To put an end to this…" Ken answers in a serious tone.

Tails hurries as she says, "What do you mean…?"

"You're not planning on taking the Iron Queen on yourself?" Topaz calls out.

"No… I don't want to, but it might be a matter of time before Nicole suffered what I've been through. I might have to put her out of her misery if anything," Ken answers.

"What? You can't!" Tails exclaims.

"I can, and I will. The Iron Queen used me to attack the Freedom Fighters. I won't allow Nicole to suffer in their clutches," Ken says.

"What you're doing is crazy!" Topaz says.

"She's right. Sonic, Eve, Sally, and Shadow will save her!" Tails says.

Ken argues, "I'm only about fifty percent mechanical, and the Iron Queen had total control over me! What hope do you think a fully artificial being like Nicole has?! It won't be a matter of time before the Iron Queen breaks her defenses! I'm not going to give her that chance to figure it out!"

"No!" Tails shouts and flies past them.

Then turns back to confront him. Ken remains balanced on his cloud.

"Kid, this isn't easy for me, either, but it has to be done!" Ken says.

Tails grabs on to Ken's bat, "No, it doesn't! We're heroes! We do what's right, even when it's hard!"

"It isn't a matter of being, 'hard' Tails! This is impossible!" Ken says.

"Was it impossible to save Bunnie? Was it impossible to save you?" Tails questions.

"No, but…" Ken answers, reluctant.

Then Tails says, "Nothing is impossible!"

Then says, "If it was really so hopeless, why did you come all the way here? Why don't you just zap me and get on with it?"

"I don't want to have to destroy her…" Ken says.

"Then wait and see what the others can do, or do you not believe in them, either?" Tails questions.

"You make it sound like it's so simple, but it's…" Ken angrily says.

Suddenly, someone screams, "Stop it please!"

The two stop fighting and turn to see Maria is the one who has shouted.

"I… I… I don't think you should give up like this, or…. Or think that hurting someone is the only way. It… it's not good at all! It will just lead to more suffering!" Maria says, on the verge of tears.

Seeing that their fight has upset her, Ken and Tails descend to the ground.

"Alright, I think it's time we calm down and talk about this," Topaz says.

Sonia walks to Ken, "Are you okay? Because what you plan to do sounds completely crazy!"

"I… I know, but I felt that we don't want any options. I don't want Nicole to go through the same thing that I've been through. Being controlled, used to harm those she cared about. I didn't want the Iron Queen to have that chance. If my friends back in the Dragon Kingdom hadn't stopped me, I… Might have ended up destroying them," Ken says, feeling upset and remorse.

"I understand Ken, I suppose a lot of us feel that way," Sonia says.

Ken sadly smiles and turns to Sonia, "But not you or your cousins, or even your friends. You all managed to stick together, sacrifice yourselves for the sake of others, even when things get tough."

"We're glad that you think so," Sonia says.

Tails says, "Sorry about that Maria. We didn't mean to upset you."

"It's okay. I just hope we don't have to have any more fighting," Maria says.

"Don't worry, we won't get into another fight, but when the time comes to face the Iron Queen," Ken says.

Maria nods her head, "Right."

Then asks in concern, "Um, do you think there's another way to help Nicole, Sonic, Eve, Shadow, and Sally?"

"That's something I don't know, but there's still much we can do. For now, let's head back to the lab and see how the others are doing," Tails says.

Back in her prison cell in the digital world, Nicole continues to move her arms around as she uses her digital abilities to remove the restraints on her wrists. She fears that her friends could be in terrible danger when Phage and the Iron Queen find out about them being in the system.

Nicole struggles as she mutters, "I need to get out of here. I need to help Sonic, Eve, Sally, and Shadow. As long as they're in the digital world, the Iron Queen and Phage will have the advantage."

Nicole continues to struggle as she worries about her friends. Suddenly, she hears a click and looks to see the cuffs have fallen off. Soon, Nicole is able to move her arms again.

"Finally," Nicole says, surprised.

Then says, "Now, I gotta help the other, but I need to make sure Phage and the Iron Queen don't know I'm gone."

She smiles and says, "And I know just how to do it."

Nicole then uses her digital nanites to construct a replica of herself. She looks just like Nicole.

Then Nicole says, "Now, to give myself a little disguise."

Nicole then uses her digital abilities to give herself a brand new look.

Meanwhile, Sally and the three hedgehogs and Chao are still fighting against the two villains.

Sally has an idea, "All right… if I apply Rotor's firewall coding as if I could 'cast' like magic…"

Sally then slides her fingers on the ground to create a glowing pink light. Then spreads her arms up as the red wall appears in front of her.

"Yes! Now we can make some progress!" Sally says.

But the Iron Queen destroys her firewall, "Naughty little virus, make your own firewalls in my system!"

Sally then shouts, "Sonic! Shadow! Go on the offensive! Eve and I can hold Phage!"

"Gotcha!" Sonic says. Then races towards the Iron Queen.

Shadow nods his head and does the same.

Sally and Eve then use the program to create a glowing rectangle around Phage.

"What are you-?" Phage says, confused.

Give us a half a second and we'll show you," Sally says.

"Hope you don't mind the closed space," Eve says.

Sonic and Shadow spin dash on the ramp and fly into the air.

"Now, like I said before… here's hedgehogs in your eyes!" Sonic says.

With that, both hedgehogs strike the Iron Queen in both her eyes.

The Iron Queen screams and shouts, "I hate those hedgehogs!"

Meanwhile, Sally and Eve use the digital programs to create multiple firewalls. One after the other, until they covered Phage.

Eve then uses her Chaos Energy, "Chaos Bubble!"

Then Eve has a bubble on the firewall.

"That oughta keep that overgrown virus in one place," Eve says.

"I hope so, but we still need to find Nicole," Sally says.

Eve nods her head, "That's right. We gotta find her. I'm not sure how long Sonic and Tails can hold that creepy techno-witch."

Suddenly, Sonic and Shadow crashed to the ground close to them.

"Guys, are you okay?" Eve asks, concerned.

"We're okay. That crazy technomage is a lot tougher than I thought," Sonic says.

Shadow then stands up, "She has the advantage over us."

"And it looks like we're in trouble now," Sally worriedly says.

The group notices the Iron Queen is still there. Suddenly, Phage bursts out of the firewalls and the Chaos Bubble.

"I guess the firewall doesn't seem to hold against that creepy mass with the mask," Eve says.

Sonic chuckles, "Sounds funny if you think that."

"Now is not the time Sonic!" Shadow says.

Suddenly, Sally calls out, "Tails! Get us out of here! Tails?!"

So far, Tails doesn't answer.

Eve calls out, "TAILS! Can you even hear us in this world?! GET US OUT OF HERE!"

Suddenly, a being dressed in a black cloak speeds over to the ground. Then suddenly, using a digital ability to zap itself along with the group away from the scene.

The Iron Queen angrily exclaims, "What?! Where'd they go?!"

"It appears they have escaped my queen. Should I go after them?" Phage replies.

The Iron Queen sighs, "No. We managed to get them out of the mainframe, and we're good for now. Until then, we'll need to keep them out of the system and around up the rest of the threat that is still in the city."

"Of course my queen," Phage says.

Back in the real world, Sonic, Eve, Shadow, Sally, and Jazz are now out of the digital world.

Eve sighs, "That was too close."

"Way too close. I thought they got us for good," Sally says.

"On another note," Sonic says.

Then turns to see Sonia and the others hurry into the lab to see them. Then the four turn to the figure that has entered the lab with them.

Shadow walks to the mysterious being and demands, "Alright, who are you? Why did you help us?"

Suddenly a familiar giggle appears from the figure and says, "Don't worry, I'm a friend and glad to finally get out of here."

The figure removes her cloak and to the groups surprised to see a familiar friend.

"Nicole! You're okay!" Sally says, relieved.

"I'm glad too. I'm just glad to get you all out of there in time," Nicole says.

Eve then notices, "That's good, and you got a cool outfit, Nicole.

The others notice it too. Nicole black hair is short and no longer has the beads in her hair. She is now wearing a sleeveless purple, white, and black dress, black and white gloves with purple cuffs, black pants, and black and white color shoes.

"Thanks, I've been actually planning on trying this for some time now. Now I think it's a good time to use it," Nicole says.

"Yeah. Your outfit is amazing," Sonia says.

Ken says, "I can tell your mission has been a success."

"It wasn't exactly perfect, but we're able to get out of that mess," Sally says.

"We're okay," Maria says.

Sally says, "Good to hear. Tails, shut down everything. Then, everyone packs some supplies. We're heading Straight to the Dragon Kingdom and breaking the Iron Dominion's support before retaking the city."

"What about Nicole?" Maria asks.

"I think I should remain here, but stay in my physical form. The fake me I left will be acting as a decoy while I secretly work under cover against the Iron Dominion," Nicole says.

"Sounds good to me," Eve says.

Maria asks, "Can Shun and I go too?"

"Well I'm going. We still need to find Rouge and get her back," Topaz says.

"And we still need to find our mom, right Shadow?" Eve says.

Shadow nods his head, "Yes. Our mother and Rouge are somewhere in the Dragon Kingdom. We know where Rouge is, but we don't have an exact location where mother is."

Sonia turns to Ken, "Do you know where the remaining on the Hedgehog Clan is?"

"I'm afraid I don't. There haven't been sightings of the clan for a long time, not since their destruction," Ken says.

Sally then says, "But it's possible one of the members of the Four Clans knows, maybe one of the Brides of one of those Clans can tell us."

"I hope so. I'm very worried about Rouge right now, and my mother," Eve says.

"Don't worry Eve, we're going to get them both back. We just need to figure out where they are, hopefully they'll be safe," Sonic says.

Eve nods her head, "Right."

"Next stop… the Dragon Kingdom!" Sonic says.

Soon, everyone is now in the Tornado. Tails takes the wheel while Maria, Rouge, Jazz, and Shun take the back seat. Sonic, Eve, Shadow, and Sally are on the wings. Ken is on the cloud with Sonia hanging on to him.

Sally says, "We have to succeed in our mission… otherwise the Iron Dominion will have won."

The remaining group of the teams take to the sky and are heading to the Dragon Kingdom to break the Iron Dominions' stronghold. This is one mission that they refuse to fail, or the Iron Dominion will conquer the city and possible all of Mobius.
