Sonic and Eve the Hedgehogs: Revenge of the Iron Dominion

After defeating Dr. Eggman and his empire, there is hope for a celebration in New Mobotrpolis, but Monkey Khan informs them that the Iron Queen and her Dominion has taken over the Empire and plans on a full attack on the city. Along with new and familiar enemies, including secrets to be revealed. Will Sonic, Eve, and the others be able to defeat the new threat on Mobius?

17. Chapter 17

Episode 17: Journey to the East Part 3: No Love in a Conquering Storm

Soon enough, Sonic, Eve, and the others end up facing the familiar foes out in the Dragon Lands of all places.

"The Destructix!" Sally exclaims.

"Well, it surely didn't take long to get your attention," Predator says.

"You've got more than our attention! Let's take 'em, guys!" Sonic says.

"You got it!" Tails says.

"Let's get them," Eve says.

Soon, the two hedgehogs and fox boy charge at the enemy.

Sally says, "Follow their lead, Ken! You and Shadow take down the gorilla!" Sally says.

"O-okay?" Ken says, confused.

Sonic begins to spin dash towards Flying Frog, "You're fast, but not as fast as…"

But Flying Frog jumps in the air.

"Hey!" Sonic shouts.

"Spiny-whirly! Brawny? Girly!" Flying Frog says.

Sonic stops spin dashing, "What?!"

Then Eve manages to land a hit to Flying Frog's back.

Eve sighs, "We don't really have time to deal with them."

"You said it," Sonic says.

Up in the air, Tails and Rouge are flying away from Predator Hawk.

"If you're so tough, let's see you hit me when I'm ready for you," Tails mocks.

"Bothersome bit of prey aren't you" Predator says.

"I wouldn't call us prey if I were you," Rouge says.

She then calls out, "Screw Kick!"

Rouge then spins and tries to land a hit on the hawk, but Predator dodges and Rouge lands on the ground.

Ken walks to Predator and says, "Hi there, cousin."

"We are of no relation," Simian calmly says.

"No, see, you're an ape and I'm a monkey, so…" Ken says, trying to explain.

Ken sighs and says, "Never mind."

Simian then raises his fist and dives it towards Ken, but Shadow quickly blocks the attack. Then performs a spin dash at him.

"I suggest it will be best not to have any conversation with them" Shadow sternly says.

"Of course," Ken says.

Then says in thought, "I have to wonder how Shadow is so different from Eve."

Sonic then spin dashes Flying Frog into the air, then Eve kicks him and makes him fall to the ground.

Rouge performs a Drill kick at Predator, but he dodges the attack. Then Tails uses his two tails to swat at him.

Ken and Shadow continue to dodge Simian's attacks.

Suddenly, they hear someone shout, "Fun time's over boys! Pack it in!"

The Freedom Fighters and the others, and even the Destructix come to a stop. They turn their heads to see two familiar faces.

"Fiona? Nic?" Eve says, shocked.

"Surprised to see us," Nic says.

"Very surprised, what are you guys doing here?" Eve asks, surprised.

"We're here to help you guys, and well, the Destructix are kind of with us for the time being," Fiona says.

"They're what? How did you manage to get the Destructix to work with you?" Sally asks, shocked.

"Yeah. The only time we see these jokers is when they want to give me and my sis a black eye," Sonic says, grabbing Flying by putting him in a headlock.

Then gives him a noogie on his head.

Flying screams, "Stop! Desist! Yield! No more noogie-boogie-woogie!"

"It's kind of a long story, but in short, we want to include you on an important mission and to see if you want in on the fun," Fiona says.

"When we got word to where you're going, we decided to include you guys in," Nic says.

"Word travels fast around here," Sally says.

"Speaking of fast, how the heck did you get all the way here so fast?" Sonic asks.

"And how did you get out of New Mobotropolis? It was domed and most of you guys were trapped inside," Eve adds.

"And how come you're with the Destructix?" Sonia adds.

"Well, it's a long story, but let's just say that things weren't going so well back at home," Fiona says.

"What happened?" Eve asks.

"To put it gently, our first against the Iron Dominion is getting more difficult to handle, especially since some of us ended up getting captured," Fiona says.

Flashback: New Mobotropolis

After Sonic, Eve, and the others leave on the Tornado to the Dragon Kingdom. The Freedom Fighters are still trapped in the dome. Inside the secret science lab under the city, Many of the Freedom Fighters: Amy, Fiona, Nic, and Tommy and the Chaotix: Mighty, Vector, and Julie-Su are having an important meeting with Nicole, who is still safe.

"This is getting worse. Maybe of us have already been captured, and the rest are doing their best to fight them off," Amy says.

"I know, but we need to do something or the Iron Queen will take over New Mobotropolis, and figure out where everyone is hiding," Fiona says.

"What we need is more muscle power," Vector says.

"You might be right. Many of the Freedom Fighters and Team Dark are being held in the Detention Center. After sneaking into the system, I figure out that those captured will be legalized. And they'll do the same with anyone they can find," Nicole says.

The groups become shocked.

"That means, if we don't do something, Leon, Molly, Manic, and Rotor will be legionized," Amy says, upset.

"We need to do something and fast," Nic says.

Fiona places her hand on her chin, "I wonder."

"Wonder what…" Bunnie asks.

Fiona turns to Nicole, "Nicole, you said that Eve and the others have left to break apart the Clans from the Iron Dominion right."

"Yes. They figure it will help break apart the many support the Iron Dominion had," Nicole says.

"I think I have an idea, but we're going to need the Destructix," Fiona says.

"Why would you want to get involved with them?" Bunnie asks.

"Oui, they are mercenaries, and are very dangerous," Antoine says.

"I know, it's a very insane and risky move, but they might be able to help us. They know Lightning Lynx, and they might have an idea on how to stop him as well," Fiona says.

"You might be right. They might be able to work with us to stop the Raiju Clan and try to get Lightning to part way with them," Nic says.

"It does seem risky, but it will help us. I'll see if I can get an aircraft ready for you and you can find them. I can think of one place they might be," Nicole says.

Flashback Ends:

Hearing what happened shocked the groups about what happened to some of their friends.

"Molly and Leon got captured?!" Rouge asks, shocked.

"Rotor and Manic, too?!" Sonic asks.

"I'm afraid so. We tried to rescue them, but the Iron Dominion made sure we couldn't hack the system," Nic says.

"And knowing that we need help, and Nicole told us where you went off to, we decided to look for the Destructix who were at the Casino Night Club. What we found are the teams, well, miserable remains," Fiona calmly says.

Flashback: Casino Night Club

Time has gone by, Fiona, and Nic arrive at the Casino Night Club, and walk into the BBBG. In there, they see Sleuth relaxing, while Predator, Flying Frog, and Simian are looking rather down.

Noticing Fiona, Sleuth asks, "What do you want? Never thought of seeing you Freedom Fighters."

"As annoying as it is. We're here for the Destructix," Fiona says.

"You can have them. Drago went back to the Eggman empire, the idiot. Lighting left saying something about 'honor restored' since he left, the others haven't been the same," Sleuth says.

"Yeah, well, work is work, and money is money. how much do you want," Fiona firmly says.

"When I said you can have then, I mean it. I'm done," Sleuth says.

He then walks up from his chair and heads to the door.

Before leaving through the doors, Sleuth says, "I've saved enough to take care of myself, and I've seen enough to know now's a good time to disappear and preserve my hide. Good luck, ladies. You won't see me again."

Then leaves the door, the last time the girls see him.

Flashback Ends:

Hearing Fiona and Nic's story is a shock, some of their Freedom Fighters and friends have been captured and shocking enough, Sleuth and Drago end up leaving the Destructix as well for different reasons.

"And so they let you take command, just like that?" Sally asks, confused.

"Not exactly. They did agree to help us take back New Mobotropolis," Nic says.

"But our first order of business would be to get Lighting back on the team," Fiona adds.

"I'm surprised you both agreed to it," Eve says.

"Yeah. Since when did you guys care so much about each other?" Sonic asks.

Predator crosses his arms/wings, and says, "He was one of the original four, he's been with us from the beginning."

"Mogul, Kodos, Sleuth… leaders come and go. He is our comrade. We know he is being used," Simian adds, placing his helmet on his chest.

"Outcast! Downcast! No class!" Flying Frog says, and lets out a chuckle.

"Kodos? Kodos Lion?" Eve asks.

"That's the one," Flying says.

"We haven't heard about that guy in ages, but I thought he disappeared during that incident years ago," Sonic says.

"Who's Kodos?" Maria asks.

"It's a long story," Eve says.

Sally says, "I think we're getting a little off topic. I think it's time to discuss what this deal is.

Simian says, "We want Lightning returned."

"We want his clan to renounce the Iron Queen," Ken says.

"Then the terms are agreed upon," Simian says.

Ken turns to Sonic and the others, "I'm game if you guys are. I know you're enemies, but…"

"I'm flexible, but how do we get fuzz-head to leave the people he wants to be with?" Sonic wonders.

"And how are we going to deal with the whole army of the Raiju Clan," Eve adds.

"Don't worry guys, I have a plan," Fiona says.

Sometime later, Fiona and Nic lead the group of Freedom Fighters and the Destructix to the Iron Fortress, which is big, made of stone and steel, and looks rather frightening.

Fiona says, "Here we are. The Iron Fortress… the former home of the Iron King and Queen. It has meter-thick armored walls. It has two heavily reinforced doorways that can only be one from the inside. But from there it's a straight shot to the throne room and the Raiju Clans bride," Fiona says.

"Man, this place is ugly," Sonic says.

"Then the doors will just have to go, won't they?" Ken suspects.

"Well, then.. Shall we invite ourselves in?" Sonic asks with a smile.

"I'm sure they won't mind," Eve answers.

Simian says, "Remember the plan…"

"We know," Eve says.

"Remember, we do not have the time to break down both gates, so Team A will fly Team B over the outer walls. Expect heavy defensive measures," Fiona says.

With that, those who can fly, like Tails, Predator, Rouge, and surprisingly Flying Frog fly over the way. Shadow also uses his Chaos energy to simply teleport themselves over the wall.

Fiona continues, "Team A will then move to engage the initial wave of ninja… while Team Be disengages the inner gate."

With that, The flying Mobians attack the ninjas while Sally and Fiona pull up the gate. Sally and Fiona quickly use the latch to lower the drawbridge.

Fiona adds, "Team C will deal with the outer gate."

Simian clutches his fist and is ready to throw it at the wall. Eve charges her fist with her Chaos energy.

"On my mark," Simian says.

Sonic is on spin dash and Ken charges up his bat with lightning.

"Ready!" Ken says, ready to swing the bat.

Simian then shouts, "Now!"

Together, Eve and Simian swing their firsts at the door while Ken swings his bat at Sonic and Sonic spin dashes with lightning at the door at the same time. With that, the door has been blown up.

Sonic finishes his spin dash and gets back on his feet with excitement, "That was awesome! I'm glad we don't have to do it twice, tho.'

Nic says, "Hurry and let's get inside."

The groups then hurry into the fortress and hurries down the hall.

"The throne room should be straight ahead!" Fiona says.

Soon enough, the groups are already inside the throne room of the Iron Fortress. Soon, they see the Ninjas holding their spears while Conquering Storm is standing in front of the throne with Lightning Lynx.

"So the King of the Free People has raised himself a little army. That's fine by me! Only fools declare all out war on the Raiju Clan!" Conquering Storm says.

Ken steps forward and says, "Which is why we haven't come for war! We came to talk!"

"By invading my…" Conquering Storm says.

But corrects herself, "By invading the Fortress entrusted to me by my masters?"

"Would you have listened to us otherwise? Ken questions.

"No. State your case, and do it quickly," Conquering Storm says.

Ken steps forward and says, "Break away from the Iron Dominion! As King of the Free People, on my word of honor, I promise to uphold your right to your lands. I'll let you keep the Iron Fortress too."

"You 'let us' keep it? Bold words. But we cannot be bought like the lowly Yagyu," Conquering Storm says, and clutches her fist.

Then says, "We are the Mighty Raiju! Only through one's strength… through action… do you earn anything!"

"Then I propose a wager upon a duel of honor," Ken says.

"Should your champion win, we will surrender to you. We'd be prime prisoners for the Iron Queen. And if ours is victorious you renounce the Iron Dominion," Ken says.

Haring the terms, Conquering Storm mutters, "Either way, I win."

Then says to the enemies, "Agreed."

Then says to the lynx, "Lightning! You will fight to prove your continued worth to your clan."

"Y-yes! Of course! Thank you!" Lightning says, sounding a little reluctant.

"So which one of us is going to have to fight Lightning Lynx?" Sally asks.

"To think Eve should fight him," Nic says.

"Why?" Eve asks.

"Because you were the one who was able to beat him and Predator during that Fighting Tournament when Fiona and I were knocked out," Nic says.

Eve sighs and says, "Fine. I'll fight him."

Ken then walks to Eve and bow his head, "The King of the Free People humbly ask you to duel on the behalf of his people."

"Um of course. I accept," Eve says and bows her head.

Eve then removes the scabbard of her sword and gives it to Sonic, "Watch this for me."

"Sure. And it's a good thing you decided to leave Shun with Li Yuen, Li Moon, and the Freedom Fighters," Sonic says.

"No kidding. I don't want him to see this fight," Eve says.

Eve steps forward and is now facing Lightning Lynx.

"Well Lightning, it looks like we'll be fighting each other again," Eve says.

"And I assume I'll be fighting the King of the Free People," Lightning says, not feeling easy about facing Eve.

"Nope. You're facing one of the heroes of this adventure. Ready for another fight?" Eve says.

Suddenly, Lightning punches Eve in the face with furry, "No! I've come too far to have you ruin things now!"

Then kicks her in the stomach, "She took me back! After all these years I'm home now! I won't let you take that away from me!"

Sonic and the others, excluding The Destructix, and Shadow show a bit of concern about what Lightning says. However, Nic seems to have a different feeling from the others all together.

Lightning is about to throw another punch at Eve, but she quickly moves back.

She coughs and says, "Okay, I didn't realize you had so much invested in this. But I've got a whole city to rescue and the Iron Dominion to stop…"

Eve then uses multiple spin dashes at Lightning.

Then says, "My friends and families have to come first… I'm sorry, but…"

She also mutters, "I did also agree to help a certain group get their comrade back."

Suddenly, Conquering Storm says, "That was pathetic. Lightning is henceforth Raiju no more. Again."

"Again?" Nic says in her thoughts.

However, she hears Lightning say, "No wait! I can still be of use to you."

"No, you can't," Conquering Storm says.

Lightning struggles to get up and says, "Don't! Please! I love…"

"Do not embarrass yourself further. That's what got you banished the first time," Conquering Storm sternly says.

Hearing this set up displaced expressions on everyone's faces, for some reason, especially Nic's.

"I don't like that Lynx' attitude," Eve whispers to Sonic and the others.

"Yeah, but how are we to judge the kind of law they live by," Sally replies.

Suddenly, Nic begins to walk towards the Bride of Conquering Storm.

Fiona notices, "Nic?"

Nic doesn't pay attention to Fiona or anyone's confused expression. As Lightning walks towards the Destruxtix, he notices Nic walking past him and towards Conquering Storm.

Seeing the weasel, Conquering Storm questions, "Hmm, what do you want?"

Nic remains silent for a minute. And suddenly, Nic grabs Conquering Storm by her collar and has her fist ready to punch her.

"Woah, Nic! What are you doing?!" Fiona panics.

"Yeah. It will only make this worse for us," Sonic says.

Nic is still full of anger, but decides to calm down and lets go of the Bride of Conquering Storm and walks away with a scowl look on her face. Everyone is surprised to see Nic is about ready to attack her, especially Lightning.

Just then, Simian places his hands on Lightning shoulders and says, "You were never one of them. You are one of us."

"They would have rejected you eventually. We will not," Predator says.

"One for all! All for one! Some for some, and free-for-all!" Flying says.

Nic walks by and is still looking a bit bitter.

But then says, "They're right you know. As much as I find it hard to believe, it seems that the clan didn't seem to care about you, but the Destructix does. I don't know what happened with you and the clan, but you should remember to think about those who do care about you because of who you are, not just because you can carry a position or strength up."

Lightning looks up to see Nic, and the girl weasel begins to walk off.

Suddenly, Conquering Storm says as she sits on the throne, "The Raiju have lost, and by my word of honor I renounce our ties to the Iron Dominion. But that does not make us allies. Leave."

"You don't need to tell us twice," Fiona sternly says.

"I have to agree," Shadow says and walks away.

With that, the group of Freedom Fighters then leave the fortress and not wanting to stay any longer, not after what happened.

Just then one of the ninjas walks to Conquering Storm and bows, "Honor matron."

"Speak," Conquering Storm says.

"What will we do if the Iron Dominion learns of this and retaliates?" The ninja asks.

"They won't," Conquering Storm says.

Then lifts her head with a smirk on her face, "The Clan of Five Houses is on the verge of collapse. All they'll have are their Legionnaires. The heroes of the west will take care of the Iron Dominions for us… and then, the Dragon Kingdom will be ours."

After leaving the Iron Fortress, Nic is still a bit bent out of shape about what happened earlier.

Fiona walks to Nic and asks, "Hey Nic, you okay?"

"Yeah. I'm fine. Still a bit steamed about earlier," Nic says, and she doesn't sound very angry anymore.

"Still, what happened back there, Nic. You were about to punch Conquering Storm in the face. If not, I'm worried you'll use your blaster," Eve says.

"I know. I'm sorry I lost my cool back there," Nic says.

"It's okay. We're at least glad we got out of there without any more well, problems," Fiona says.

"Yeah. Saves me from trying to punch her myself. I already felt guilty for beating Lightning Lynx," Eve says.

"Yeah. But still… I felt rather brutish after that. It's one thing to be proactive, but I don't usually throw my punches unless it's at a robot," Nic says.

She then sighs, "Still, it wasn't right for me to overstep my bounds like that, especially with Lightning Lynx's problem or what he had to deal with."

"Maybe you overstep your bounds a little," A familiar voice says.

Nic looks up to see Lightning Lynx.

"Hey, feeling okay?" Nic says, and tilts her hat.

"I was about to ask you the same. You seem very displeased about what Conquering Storm said," Lightning says.

"Well it's fine about this whole tradition and all that stuff or whatever she does in her Clan, but if she knew how skillful and strong you are, maybe she wouldn't be so rotten about…" Nic says.

But quickly turns her head away, "I just don't like the way she talked towards you and how she acted towards us and all that stuff."

"It's okay Nic. I'm sure you just need to blow off some steam. The sooner we head back to the city, the sooner we can leave this place," Fiona says.

"Yeah Yeah," Nic says.

She walks up and says, "Come on Destructix, let's go."

Fiona and Lightning turn to each other with confused expressions.

Fiona says to him, "I'm sure Nic will feel a little better after all, whatever just happened."

"Of course. However, I do like to well, thank her for trying to defend me," Lightning says.

"I'll be sure to let her know that," Fiona says.

With that, Fiona, Nic, and the Destructix leave the area.

Fiona turns to Sonic and Eve, "See you guys at the city."

"Bye," Sonic and Eve reply.

The group then leaves the area and leaves Sonic, Eve, and the others in front of the fortress.

"Okay. So we were able to get three clans down, and only need two left," Sonia says.

"So which should we go next?" Maria asks.

"The Shinobi Clan," Ken answers.

"Cool! Where are they?" Sonic says.

But Ken answers, "I have no idea."

"Lame, monkey-boy," sonic says.

"I'm serious! They're known for their secrecy. All I know is that they're chameleons. Everything else is rumors and legends," Ken says.

"That's going to be difficult," Topaz says.

Sonic then suggests, "Maybe if we could get to Angel Island and borrow Knuckles. He knows how to spot them, especially Espio."

"No, he's busy safe-guarding Angel Island, especially the many people from the city who have to be brought there," Eve says.

Then Sally says, "Besides, we can't have him examine every inch of the Dragon Kingdom."

"That will take forever," Maria replies.

"So then how do you find invisible people who don't want to be found?" Tails asks, shrugging his shoulders.

"You'll need a guide…" Someone says.

Everyone stop and surprised to hear a familiar voice

Suddenly, Espio becomes visible right in front of them, "... and a friend you can trust."
