Episode 20: Deep Trouble At Home

While Sonic, Eve, and the others are away in the Dragon Kingdom, Amy, and the Freedom Fighters who haven't been captured are doing their best to fight them back. It has been a very difficult challenge, but they refuse to accept defeat. As things turned out, while they were gone, and Fiona and Nic left the city to find help, things have been really hard, difficult, and filled with one trouble after another.

Sometime later after Fiona and Nic leave the city to find help, thanks to Phage's hacking, the Iron Dominion finds their way to Lower Mobius. Luckily, thanks to Nicole, she is able to warn them, and order a stronger evacuation to where the Wolf Pack Freedom Fighters are. Sadly, some of the citizens, including some of the Freedom Fighters from Lower Mobius and New Mobotropolis have been captured and brought to the city. Cosmo, Galaxina, Griff, Uncle Chuck, Eve and Sally's father, and Elias are one of the many that have been caught.

Now in New Mobotropolis, Amy and Antoine are running from the Dark Legionnaires who are firing at them.

Amy calls out, "Pick up the pace, Antoine. We need to retreat for now!"

"You will not be hearing ze arguments from moi!" Antoine panics.

The group continues to run as fast as they can, but soon end up running into the Yagyu Ninjas.

Antoine panics, "I am wishing… ma princess was here to lead ze resistance. Or Sonic and Eve were here to be helping! Tails too!"

Amy then brings out her hammer and bashes the ninjas with it. Antoine then uses his sword to fight back against them.

"I am not so sure about Monkey Khan though. I am still being the little bit crossed with him," Antoine says.

Amy continues to run as she says, "Yeah, we could really use their help, but they're not here. If they can really break up the Five Houses in the Dragon Kingdom, then it'll make things easier for us here."

Just then, the Legionnaires begin to fire at them.

Amy continues, "And knowing Sonic and Eve as I do, I'm sure they'll be back to save the day right in the nick of time! Same with Fiona and Nic who left to find some reinforcements."

"Oui, but…" Anotine says, but bumps into Amy who comes to a halt.

Antoine looks to find themselves surrounded by the Legionnaires and the Ninjas.

"But I am wishing that 'nicking of time' had been a few days ago…" Antoine worriedly says.

Antoine and Amy hold their weapons and are ready to fight them. Suddenly, someone begins to fire arrows at them.

And a female voice says, "They aren't here at this point, so we have to fight back."

The two look up to see Geoffrey and Hershey holding on ropes and firing their weapons.

"G'day everyone. You two run ahead, and we'll take care of these blokes," Geoffrey says.

"Thanks, Geoffrey! Hershey! Catch up when you can!" Amy calls out.

"Right behind you," Hershey says.

Then throws it, "Smile for the birdie."

The ball falls to the ground and creates a bright and blinding light. Hershey and Geoffrey make their chance to escape.

"Things weren't this bad under Dr. Eggman or when he used to call himself Dr. Robotnik," Geoffrey says.

"Th-things aren't that bad… everything will work out, once Sonic and Eve are back," Geoffrey says.

The group continues to run as fast as they can to the park.

Amy opens a secret hatch in a stump, "We've got a secret bunker underground."

"This way!" Amy says, and jumps in.

"Through a tree stump, no less. Very nice. Very nostalgic," Geoffrey says.

The group then jumps into the stump, and Antoine closes the hatch.

In the underground lab, Bunnie is there to greet them.

"Ah just heard back from Vector. They got the last group of refugees and are doin' fine on Angel Island. Are y'all…" bunnie replies.

"We're fine, Bunnie. We even found Geoffrey and Hershey," Amy says.

Hershey asks, "Are you alright Bunnie?"

"I'm okay. However, ah'm a liability right now. Mah cybernetic makes me prone to the Iron Queen's techno-magic, so…" Bunnie says, feeling weary.

Antoine hugs her "Shh, mon amour… nobody eez blaming you."

"Course not. We just need to… crikey!" Geoffrey says, but becomes surprised to see Nicole appearing before them and in her new outfit.

"Hello everyone," Nicole says.

"Nicole, it's good to see you. Are you okay? We heard that you were captured," Hershey says.

"I was able to break myself out and had a decoy in my place. I was able to get away before they noticed," Nicole says.

She giggles and says, "They still didn't notice."

"Yeah. Nicole has been using it for her advantage. She's been doing some secret work for us. She had this room built for us, kept us up-to-date on stuff going on in the city and has been a big help in general," Amy says.

"I try," Nicole says with a smile.
Then sadly says, "I am afraid I have bad news. They're moving the prisoners to the coliseum, they're going to be 'legionized,' in public. Including our Freedom Fighters who were captured."

"Oh, mah stars!" Bunnie says shocked.

Antoune says, stunned, "Mon dieu!"

"That's sick!" Amy angrily says, gritting her teeth.

"Is being 'legionized' anything like being 'roboticized?" Geoffrey asks.

Amy shouts in rage, "Worse! They've been turning people into cyborgs, brainwashing them, and sending them to Dark Egg Legion chapters around the world!"

"They haven't done it to many of ze people, but…" Antoine worriedly says.

"With the Chaotix guarding Angel land, half the Freedom Fighters away, and what's remaining of those in Lower Mobius have been moved to where the Wolf Pack are at, we can't save everyone. Not to mention some of the Freedom Fighters and G.U.N agents have been captured," Bunnie says.

"Right," Geoffrey says.

"We've got no time to waste! Antoine! Geoffrey! Hershey! Let's go rescue them! To the Coliseum!" Amy says.

Amy then begins to climb out of the pipe with Antoine's help. Hershey turns to Geoffrey to notice him thinking of something.

"Are you okay?" Hershey asks.

"I'm okay, just a little deep in thought. Let's go," Geoffrey says.

Then begins to climb out of the hiding place with Amy and the others.

Meanwhile, at the Detention Center, Snively and Lien-Da are riding on the hovercraft. Snively is the only one who is lowering his hovercraft down for the landing.

Lien-Da asks, "Why do you keep answering Eggman's summons…? The guy has completely lost it. What's the point?"

"Oh, I'm not expecting anything lucid out of my dear uncle…" Snively says.

After having the hovercraft landed, he climbs out, "... But I do so enjoy seeing him so pathetic and helpless."

"Ah, that makes sense," Lien-Da says.

Then drives her hovercraft, "I'm going to check on the next sector."

Snively nods his head and Lien-Da leaves to search the next sector. Once she's gone, Snivrly walks down the stairs to the Detention Center with a grin on his face.

"And to think I used to be scared of that big doofus. It's so nice to be able to look at him in the eye and feel ten feet…" Snively says, sounding confident.

But deflates and becomes frightened, "Tall…"

What he sees is Dr. Eggman who is now standing on his two feet and is looking at him with a vicious glare.

With an evil smile, "Eggman says, "Hello Snively. I've figured it all out."

Snively becomes nervous and says, "F-figured wh-what out?"

"Everything, Snively. Why I can hold a global empire, but can't beat those two. How two rodents can be a couple of thorns in my side," Eggman says.

He then places his hands on the glass, " In every experiment, in every scenario, there is the factor of chance. The unpredictable… the variant or mutation for which you cannot prepare. That hiccup on the quantum level that throws everything off. I'm talking about Chaos, Snively."

Then wags his finger, "And who has been exposed to more Chaos Energy than Sonic or Eve? Don't you see? That's why I can't beat them! That's why I can't plan for them! Sonic and Eve are embodiment of Chaos! They are patently unpredictable! They are the constant inconsistency!"

Then places his hands on the glass again, "Now I can properly account for them! Now my plans can proceed. Let me out and we can get back to work."

Snively simply stares at Eggman for a matter of minutes. Then begins laughing, causing Eggman to deflate his grin.

Snively wipes a tear from his eye and says, "Let you out? So what if you've managed to reason your way back from the brink? You're not getting out of there."

"What?!" Eggman shouts in rage.

"I've got everything I want now, uncle. I have power, I have authority, and I've found love. Like, you fat fool!" Snively says.

He turns his back on Eggman as he says, "Why would I want to go back to being your today? The hedgehogs' been chased out of the city, I'm with Regina, and I've never been happier. Why on Mobius would I want to change that?"

Suddenly, Eggman begins to laugh, which sends chills down Snively's spine.

Eggman asks, "Regina? Regina Ferrum? The Iron Queen?

"Y-yes… we're in love," Snively nervously says.

Eggman laughs and mocks, "You deluded little twerp! She doesn't love you. She's a manipulator, and she played you for a sap! And you? You can't love! The only person you care about is you! You'll save yourself before even thinking about her. She's just a stepping stone for you, only you've fooled yourself into thinking otherwise."

Snively becomes stunned by the mocking remark and is on the verge of tears.

"N-no! Y-you're wrong!" Snivley says, upset.

Then walks away, "Our love is real! You can stay in there and rot!"

Eggman laughs and says, "You'll be back, Snively! You'll be back!"

In the coliseum, Amy, Antoine, Geoffrey, and Hersehy arrive to see the Legionization that will soon be taking place.

"Zis is a nightmare…" Antoine says.

But Geoffrey says, "Nah, mate… nightmares are nicer than this…"

Indeed, many of the Legionnaires and the ninjas of the different clans are sitting in the audience stands to watch. Snively is at the center of the coliseum getting everything prepared with the Legion soldiers and ninjas, and sitting on the thrones close by are the Iron Queen and King.

The Iron King is unamused, "This is really trying my patience, Regina. There's an active rebellion going on, and you're making me sit here and watch your retainer play 'mad doctor.'

"If there's maiming to be done, I want to do it!" He has to get up.

But Regina calmly stops him, "Patience, Jun Kun. There's more to today's spectacle than converting a handful of Mobians. The rebels have proven to be just a little too successful. Their strikes are too precise, which tells me they've somehow tapped into our communications. So I made sure to do something they simply cannot ignore."

The Iron King sits down, "Then this is a trap. And when they arrive, I shall crush them."

"Precisely. To your heart's content, my king," Regina says.

At the center of the coliseum, Snively places surgical gloves on his hands as he walks to the containment capsule.

He commands, "All right, let's have the first 'volunteer.'"

One of the Yagyu Ninjas hop on the button on top of the container and it opens. The one to come out is Rotor.

"Ah! Rotor Walrus! One of the Tech Mechanics of the Freedom Fighters! You'll make a fine Dark Legionnaire!" Snively says in a remark tone.

"You won't get away with this," Rotor angrily says.

"Oh, but what can you do? As you can see, you and many of your Freedom Fighter Comrades have been captured, and are going to become part of the Legion," Snively says.

"Maybe so, but that doesn't mean I can't fight back," Rotor says, and knocks the Legionnaires down with his fists.

Rotor does his best to fight against the Legionnaires, but two of them manage to fire blasters at his back and knock him to the ground. Then the Yagyu Ninjas begin to pick him up by his arms.

"Hmm, should have known you Freedom Fighters wouldn't have given up without a fight by now… maybe you can take some small comfort in that you tried," Snively says.

Then commands the ninjas, "Bring him to the table."

The ninjas then begin to drag Rotor to the table and are going to be prepared to get him legionized. Meanwhile, Amy and the others are shocked and know that if they don't do something, Rotor will be Legionized for sure.

"That's it! Let's get 'em!" Amy says.

"Hold on! They outnumber us… thirty to one! We'd be better served if we…" Geoffrey says.

"What? Go sneaking around like you do? They're going to ruin Rotor!" Amy shouts in anger.

"Do as you want, Geoffrey. We are going to save our comrade," Antoine says.

Hershey turns to Geoffrey, "They might be right. We'll be too late if we don't act now."

Geoffrey calmly smiles and says, "All right, then."

"Then let's do it," Hershey says.

"For ze king and country!" Antoine says, raising his sword.

"Freedom Fighters! Forever! Amy shouts.

"Soon, the four begin to charge out into the open and attack the Legionnaires and Ninjas, catching the Iron Rulers attention.

"At last!" The Iron King says.

"So pathetically predictable," The Iron Queen says.

Amy charges towards the center of the area.

"You." Amy angrily says as she jumps and raises her hammer up.

Then slams it down at the table, breaking it to pieces, startling Snively in the process.

Rotor is able to get up as he says, feeling weakened. "Thanks for the save, Amy."

Geoffrey and Hershy continue to dodge the attacks as they fire their own weapons at them.

Geoffrey laughs and says, "C'mon, mates! You've got to try aiming for us!"

"Oh Geoffrey," Hershey says with a grin.

Antoine is able to reach the containers. He jumps on it, and it opens to reveal some of the mobians from the city, including Leon and Molly.

"Run for ze exit! We will cover your escaping!" Antoine says.

Molly turns to Leon, "Leon, you help the others escape, I'll do what I can to help the others."

"Right," Leon says.

Then begins to lead the Mobians who have been captured to the exit.

Meanwhile, Geoffrey and Hershey continue to fight against the ninjas and Legionnaires.

"You're the occupying forces? Really?" I'm going to have a serious sit-down with the hedgehogs when they get back. If they lost to you blokes, they lost their tough," Geoffrey says, and continues to beat the Legionnaires and Ninjas.

Hershey turns to Geoffrey to have a confrontation, but sees someone behind him.

"Geoffrey, I think he's the one we should be more worried about," Hershey worriedly says.

"What are you…" Geoffrey asks.

Then someone smacks Geoffrey from behind.

"Geoffrey!" Hershey panics and hurries towards her husband.

She kneels to him and asks, "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine," Geoffrey answers, holding his left arm.

Jun Kun steps towards them and questions, "Who are you supposed to be? A couple of special soldiers of sorts?"

Then raises his club, "Does that mean you two will squish any differently?"

He then slams his club to strike at them, but Amy blocks the attack.

"You again?! Jun Kun says in rage.

"We've got to stop meeting like this," Amy comments.

Then turns to the couple, "Go help Antoine evacuate everyone. I got this."

"You sure about that…?" Geoffrey asks.

"Oh, yeah," Amy says.

Geoffrey and Hershey agree and leave the scene.

Jun Kun glares at Amy, "Insolent girl! You will not embarrass me like last…"

"Blah Blah Blah! Eat mallet!" Amy interrupts, and bashes the Iron King on his head.

"That Amy sure is something," Hershey says.

"I'll say," Geoffrey says.

Hershey then asks in concern, "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine. My head's still swimming from that hit… What is that guy? And what is he made of?" Geoffrey says.

When they arrive, they see Antoine is having trouble fighting the Ninjas.

"Antoine!" Hershey says, concern.

"Hold on! We're coming!" Geoffrey says.

As Geoffrey and Hershey begin to arrive, they see strange nanites like hands rise from the ground and grab the Mobians who have been captured.

"What?! Where are those hands coming from?!" Geoffrey asks.

"From me," The Iron Queen says, making the couple turn to see her.

She raises her staff and says, "Everything in this city is composed of nanites… microscopic machines! And with my technomagic, they are mine to command. Every building, every wall, every tree, every blade of grass is a potential weapon for me! I control Five Clans of Ninjas and the Entire Dark Egg Legion! How could you ever hope to win against me!"

Suddenly, something has been fired from above the dome, the three look up and see who are the intruders.

"Before? I don't know, but now…" Hershey says with a smile.

"The cavalry has just arrived," Geoffrey adds.

Arriving from the destroyed entrance of the dome, Sonic, Eve, and the rest of the Freedom Fighters, Shijin Warriors, and some of Team Dark arrive on the scene.

"You Iron Queen! We're here to deliver your eviction notice!" Sonic remarks.

"Cause, it's time for us to kick you out!" Eve adds.
