I do not own any franchise included in my story.
"You were an interesting choice."
Ever since I upgraded my genes and gained super senses no one had ever snuck up on me, even the Asuran's couldn't get by me. So when I suddenly heard a voice in my private lab, which was locked and had a force field keeping anything out, I not only jumped but nearly had a heart attack. As I spun around at super speed I saw that it was Bethos, looking around the lab. "What the fuck man!"
"Granted you move at a slower pace then other people I've chosen but you also are doing things differently." He said, ignoring my shout. "Setting up an Empire isn't easy; you Earthlings have a saying I believe. Rome wasn't built in a day."
"Yeah that's right." I muttered while glaring at him, I never liked being scared and that wasn't going to change.
"Though I do have a note." He said turning to me, I got worried because a god giving advice was probably the same as him telling me to do something. "I want more then slight changes; I believe I said as much but I'm giving you a little slack since it's still early. And I very much don't like no changes at all."
I knew he was talking about me going to the DC dimension and only taking DNA, the slight part was probably fighting the Wakandan's. The fight was major to their history but minor to the overall dimension itself. "Understood."
"Good, I would really hate to have to get rid of you for not alleviating my boredom." Bethos chuckled but I could tell a threat when I heard one.
"Big changes got it." I said with a vigorous nod.
"Excellent." He replied and looked over my desk, where I had all of my notes and research on the nanites. "These will make things very interesting." He grinned at me and gave me a wink before disappearing, no light show or anything just gone.
I let out a sigh and go back to my lab, the idea I've annoyed a god does not sit well with me. "I need to make sure to do something big every time I go somewhere, no matter what I'm there to get." That was a good note to get now because I was planning to go to an Earth and get more data on Star Wars, I needed to be careful now to where I go so I can make some changes.
"Morgan can you please join me in my lab, I will turn the projectors back on, I want to run some ideas by you."
XXXX NCIS: Earth, 2006 XXXX
After brainstorming with Morgan about somewhere that would both fill my need for information on Star Wars but also help me with gain something I needed. Leroy Jethro Gibbs was no only an amazing investigator but also a trained Marine, if I could rope him in I gained someone who could train my soldiers a bit and start helping with a police force. I had finished the nanites, tested them on both Jaffa and Humans, and was happy they were a huge success. With them I knew I would be able to get anyone I wanted but I was going for the subtle approach with Gibbs, after all I could offer him something well worth leaving Earth. I had arrived on Atlantis in 2020 first, that way I could gather all the data not only on Star Wars but several other dimensions I knew I would want to visit then hacked into NCIS headquarters to get an idea of when I needed to be. A jump back and I was ready for my sales pitch.
I watched on the holoscreen as Gibbs was transported up from the deserted road on his way to Mike Franks house after retiring from NCIS. The timing was perfect as he had said his goodbyes and no one should expect him back though they are hoping he will come back soon. He was transported into a conference room in the main tower but with a window facing Earth, he would be confused but it would be easier to convince him what I had to say was real. The room itself was a simple conference room with a long rectangle metal table that could hold eight people, three on each side and one on the ends.
He looked around confused and I was glad he quickly dropped the duffel bag slung over his shoulder to the ground. He didn't pull a weapon, I don't suspect he has one as he was a civilian now traveling into another country and couldn't just take weapons anywhere. After looking around he looked out the window, which in reality was the wall itself, and went slack as he processed what he was seeing. I gave him a moment before I entered the room, the door opening caused him to turn around and again he was on edge.
"Hello Mr. Gibbs, I apologize for the sudden transportation but I was hoping to have a discussion with you." I smiled at him hoping to keep him calm.
"Who are you and where am I?" He didn't drop his guard as he spoke, but I slowly walked to him. I had to make physical contact for the nanites to move from me to him then it was just a matter of time.
"I am Magnus." I replied. "And if you are wondering yes that is Earth and yes I am what you would call an alien." I was close enough so I held out my hand. "Welcome to Atlantis."
He eyed my hand. "Atlantis, the city that sunk under the sea?"
"Primitive humans could not understand the concept of space travel so when a city on the water disappeared, they assumed it sank." I answered easily, I noticed he tried to subtly reach over with his left hand and pinch his right arm. "I assure you; you are not dreaming."
"So your telling me aliens exist and once were on Earth?" He asked carefully and I shrugged, lowering my hand so it didn't look odd.
"My ancestors were mostly scientists and studied cultures different from theirs." I replied and pointed to Earth. "Earth has a large variety and was an interesting study from what I have read."
"Alright." Gibbs said after a second. "Say I believe this is real, why am I here?"
"Please have a seat." I gestured to a chair and walked to my own. "I have brought you here because I would like to hire you." That caught him off guard.
"Hire me?" He asked bewildered. "For what?"
"I am in need of your vast array of skills and experience, both with law enforcement and military." I answered. "And while there are many people who might also fit the criteria I believe your strong sense of justice and drive to get things done puts you at the top of the list."
He sat down and looked at me for a minute. "That's a specific skill set, I find it hard to believe you don't have someone like that in a world that can create spaceships."
"My entire race is dead." I say and see his eyes widen. "I will spare you the long drawn out story, I am the last of my race and while traveling the galaxy I came across a world where a intelligent race was using its superior technology and knowledge to suppress two other races, one of which could be classified as human. I have freed them and am setting up a world of my own with them but they have little to no knowledge of law enforcement or a justice system and their military tactics are more of overwhelm the enemy with numbers or die trying." Though I was already working on the military tactics.
"So you want me to train them." Jethro said with a frown. "How do I know that's what you really want? You kidnap me and expect me to just join up with a nice speech?" His gut was probably flipping out about this.
"Again I apologize for the kidnapping, it was not done with malice or ill intent." I replied. "And I do not expect you to just join up as you said, this is a job offer and if you refuse, I will send you home. I just ask you actually take the time to hear me out and consider what I am offering, is that too much to ask?"
Hs stood up with a sigh and moved over to the window, where he began to pace around. This was obviously not something easy to process but I was glad he wasn't outright saying no. "This is insane, how do I know your even telling me the truth and your not the evil alien here to takeover Earth? In fact how is the news not covering that a spaceship is hovering over Earth, don't we have satellites and telescopes pointed up here?"
"I have cloaking technology; from the inside we seem like were hovering in space but from Earths view it's just space." I answered. "I have no way of convincing you I am not an evil alien other than the fact I am talking to you instead of forcing you to help me."
"Alright." He hesitantly said. "Well maybe I should talk to these aliens you saved before I go deciding anything."
"Not a problem." Bol'vak was intelligent enough to not give anything away and while I didn't have humans with me he could talk to an Asuran. "Come I can give you a tour while were at it." I stood up and gestured towards the door. "You can leave your things if you wish or bring them." He stayed seated for a few seconds.
"If I say no that's it? I get to go home no problem?" He asked and I nodded. "Fine, I'll speak with your other alien friends."
"Alright, come this way." I used the moment to place my hand on his empty shoulder, acting like I was guiding him, and commanded the nanites to move onto him and infiltrate his mind. I would let him speak with Bol'vak and look around Atlantis while slowly altering his thoughts to be receptive of my offer.
XXXX
I left Jethro alone for a few hours, steered both Bol'vak and a free Asuran towards him so he could ask questions and make it seem for natural that he would accept the offer I was going to make. Once back in the conference room we sat back down, and I decided to hit him with the reason he should accept.
"Did you enjoy your tour?" I asked him as he sat down.
"Yeah, it's still hard to take in but after speaking with that bull vick guy and the robot I've come around." Gibbs answered, he seemed to be more relaxed as well. "They seemed very interested in not only my skill set but also my life as well."
"Yes, the Asuran's especially will ask you several questions about life and will want to learn any skills you can teach them." I chuckled out. "So, you are considering my offer?"
"…yes but it's still a lot to think about." Gibbs answered with a slight pause. "I know I retired and left D.C but I didn't think it would be for another world, just Mexico."
"I understand, leaving your whole world, both figuratively and literally, can be terrifying." I said to him. "However, the offer I want to make you for accepting should be worth it. As you have figured out I had a specific skill set I was looking for and you were not the only candidate, as I narrowed the list I did more research into who I was considering." He nodded. "I am aware of you first wife and child, it was a terrible loss."
"Thank you." He replied after a moment.
"What I want to offer you is another chance with them."
"What!" Jethro jumped up from his seat. "What do you mean?"
"Just as alien's, robots and spaceships exist so does time travel." I replied calmly. "We can go back, back to when they are being transported and save them." His face was white as he fell back into his chair. "And I can make you younger, or to be accurate clone a younger body and move your mind into it." I smiled at him though he was still staring wide-eyed. "You can have the life with them you should have."
He opened his mouth, then closed it and repeated that a few times, he was at a loss for words and I noticed tears starting to form in his eyes. I stood up. "I am going to give you some privacy to process that." I quickly left the room, though I pulled up the security feed to watch him so I could get back to my, I did mentally acknowledge that I was a dick for making him go through another mental trauma after his injuries from the bomb on the ship.
After a while he collected himself so I headed back inside. "Prove it." I was barely in the door before he spoke. "Prove you can actually go back in time."
"Understandable, what about the cloning?" It made sense that he wanted proof on everything.
"Just show me the time travel stuff first and will worry about that later." He replied, I felt he was getting anxious and guessed he cared more about saving them then being young again.
"Alright." I hit my comm. "Morgan, please transport us to the jumper bay." I grinned as we were enveloped in light, as we appeared in the bay I pointed to one of the Puddle Jumpers. "This is one version of my time travel technology."
"It's a ship." He replied.
"A time traveling spaceship." I said back and headed up the ramp. "Come on." I waved for him to follow, we walked around the time engine and sat in the cockpit. "So where would you like to go? Obviously we need to go to a point where you will recognize the events and don't worry this vessel can become invisible so no one will see us." I explained. "And no, we cannot change the events so do not pick a time where you want to save someone or stop something."
He frowned but nodded and sat thinking on a date. "Lets go back a few days, the Strait of Gibraltar."
That was where the ship exploded that caused him to quit NCIS. "Let's go." He watched as I closed the ramp and took us into space, despite his attempts I could see his awe as we flew through space. Setting the calculations we leapt through time, which was just a flash of light to us, and I cloaked the ship. Unfortunately, I didn't have the exact coordinates so we had to focus the scanners for a ship but we found it in time.
"That's it." Gibbs muttered as we got close enough to read the name and see the ship. He tensed up as we hovered nearby, I know he wanted to save the ship and I was surprised he wasn't trying to talk me into it.
"Maybe the thought of saving his wife and daughter is stronger?" I thought as I watched him, we ended up waiting a few hours before the ship exploded. "Well Mr. Gibbs?" I activated the nanites.
"Gibbs." He replied softly. "Just Gibbs…. Okay, if you can save Shannon and Kelly I'll help you but I want to be able to spend time with them. I don't want to be shipped off to training camps and the like with no free time."
"Agreed." I replied as I piloted the ship back towards space. "Once we get back we will get you setup and reunite you with your family." I smiled, though it was because I had a strong ally and created a massive change in this world for Bethos, which should get me out of the doghouse. "I wonder how many of them will die without Gibbs around?"
XXXX John Wick: Earth, 2014 XXXX
Gibbs was going to help with law enforcement and military, Wick was going to train my men in both weapons and close quarters combat. It's amusing that two men with drive and impressive skills can both be brought in by saving their wives, but I wasn't going to look a gift horse in the mouth. Wick was a more dangerous and cautious man then Gibbs, I wouldn't be surprised if he tried to start a fight to escape.
Like the first time I was watching on a screen as Wick appeared in the conference room and just like Gibbs John began looking around, the difference between the two was that Wick had his wife with him. He had pulled her close though she was looking around as well and was the one to draw attention to the window wall where you could see Earth. She broke free, with some effort, from John and moved closer to the window, he seemed to stop assessing the room and looked with her. I gave them a moment before I entered, John immediately moved in between her and me when he heard the door open.
"Hello Mr. and Mrs. Wick, I apologize for the sudden departure from your home." I again did my best to look harmless, despite my physique.
"Who are you?" John asked as he inspected me. "Where are we?"
"I am Magnus and as you can see." I pointed to the window and Earth. "We are in orbit above Earth."
"How." Helen Wick asked with some awe. "Wait..are you… are you an alien?"
"Yes." Both were surprised of course and Helen gripped Johns arm from behind him.
"Why are we here?" John asked. "Why out of billions or people are we here?"
"Perhaps you would like to sit down, I understand that Mrs. Wick is not well." I gestured to the table and chairs.
"How do you know that?" John snapped at me.
"Mr. Wick I know far more about you then you would believe and it is why we are here." I looked between them. "Is your wife aware of your past life, what you did before marrying her?"
'Yes." Helen answered before John could.
I smiled. "Honesty is good for a relationship, the reason you are here is I want to hire you."
"I've given up that life." John replied. "Find someone else and just let us go."
"Actually, it is the fact you have given it up that I want you and not someone else." I walked towards the table, away from them to not seem threatening. "And I don't want you to kill anyone, I want you to train people." I took a seat.
"Train people?" John parroted back.
"Train them for what?" Helen asked, luckily, she didn't seem to upset.
"The story is long but to quickly sum it up I have recently freed two races from a race of tyrant aliens." I started as I sat down. "I am setting up a new world with them and could use a man of your abilities to help improve and update their military, the tyrants who were in control kept them as primitive as possible to keep them in line." I sighed.
"But why John?" Helen asked while he nodded. "How did you even find out about us if you're an alien?"
"Mrs. Wick I teleported you from your home into space, I have technology you have only seen in movies." I replied to her and looked to John. "You are not the only person I looked at, far from it but when all the information was in you were my choice. You have a drive and focus unmatched by many, but you also possess compassion even after being immersed in an evil world, is not something I have found in others."
They both stayed quiet and took that in. "Can you heal Helen?" John asked and I was actually surprised by his straightforward question, by the look of it so was Helen. "If you can save her, I'll train whoever you want, do whatever you want."
"John." Helen grabbed his hand as she started to tear up.
"Deal." I answered, impressed I didn't have to use the nanites, though I was still going to but it was good I didn't need them as much as I did on Gibbs. I stood up and gestured to the door. "If you come with me I can have her diagnosed and we can see what I can do."
XXXX Stargate: Udhut 1991 XXXX
Everything went according to plan; both the Gibbs family and Wicks were now united and safely living in nice homes on Udhut. Jethro was in his new younger body but with all the knowledge and memories from his years, it was very enjoyable to watch him explain what was going on to his family. It turned out Helen had brain cancer but like with Jethro I created a new body, moved her into it and the nanites would kill any cancer before it could reform. With both of their families taken care of Jethro and John put their focus into what I brought them for.
I had of course introduced John and Jethro, though we told Jethro he was also an ex-marine here to help train the military personal. We had plenty of volunteers for the police force Jethro was helping create, his knowledge of law was also helping the Asuran's create a move complex law system. For Wick I figured teaching Bol'vak and the Primes to fight first was the best plan and they could all teach classes from there.
Shannon, Kelly and Helen were fitting in well, helping where they could with the Humans and Jaffa who did not have much of a life experience or idea of freedom of choice. Kelly was very helpful in teaching the other children how to have fun along with Earth games, though Gibbs had sent up a request from her for boardgames and sports equipment from Earth, I had Morgan make a note. Shannon also did her best to help out, mainly in helping the women who were up until this point oppressed, even the Jaffa women, understand they had equal rights. She was becoming very popular and while there was some grumbling, mostly from the male Jaffa as the Human's were still just happy to be free, women were applying for more jobs and working with the Asuran's to learn skills. Helen was a professional photographer and along with helping Shannon she was bringing art into the culture.
I still had plenty of vibranium to outfit the new Jaffa, which with the help of Tab'rol we pulled in the remaining men from Sepa's worlds with little resistance. After clearing all of them with the help of the Asuran's, we only found two spies so I had to give Sepa credit for keeping spies out, we were on our way to moving on to Ma'at and Ha. I wasn't going to wait around for that though, with less resistance and Gibbs at his side I was leaving Bol'vak in charge of taking them down and integrating the people and anything worth keeping.
I was doing my research on Star Wars and determining where the best place to setup shop would be, I had to do extra research on the many planets mentioned in books. So far I was thinking of going down to the lower galactic southwest corner, it had some planets depending on the version but I could start there and move up the west side. I decided to start in the lower region not just because of the low level of planets but also because if I went to the northwest, I would be to close to Coruscant and draw more attention from Palpatine. I wanted only minor attention from him so he would carry out his plan, then when the Clone Wars started, I would use the chaos to scoop up the southern outer rim and possibly mid rim planets. He would be helpless to stop it as he needed time to gain all the power in the Senate and by the time he executed his plans and became and Emperor I would hopefully have the southern hemisphere under my rule.
"So here is where I am thinking of starting our operation." I said to Morgan as we looked over a model, I created of the Star Wars galaxy. I had picked the grid E-17, it was empty as far as I could find from all the different maps and data but close to Endor. "However that immediately puts us in a possible place of danger as in some books a race known as the Ssi-ruuvi, a saurian race that are xenophobic, religious and use technology that actual draws power from the life-force of organisms."
"Yes I have looked over the data you brought back." She replied and highlighted the main planet of the Ssi-ruuvi, Lwhekk. "As you want to go in years before the Clone Wars they would not have spread out from the Ssi-ruuk star cluster."
"True, it would not be easy but if we take them out we could be the major power and spread up the southwest side." I said as I pointed my finger around the area. "Given a few years and some technology we should be able to have complete control of the quadrant, minus a few planets in the mid to inner rims."
"Which would make us a powerful force but not so worrisome that Senator Palpatine will believe us to be to much of an opposition." Morgan chimed in. "He will try to bring you to his side or find people in the Empire to oppose you, maybe start a civil war or large enough revolt to occupy us while he has his war for power."
I chuckled. "That sounds right but to bad anyone with enough power will have nanites in them and I will know about it." With the power to control minds I also was able to have the nanites tap into the senses and monitor what they see and hear. "He will fail, it will cause him frustration and keep him off balance."
I had played with the idea of getting rid of Palpatine but if I did it before the Clone Wars they wouldn't happen and I would have to start the war myself. If I did it during the factions would probably reconcile faster and I would be the one fighting a war against two enemies, so leaving him alive was my best option. I wasn't to worried because even with the force I could take Palpatine, I was definitely getting myself a lightsaber, and I had a sure fire failsafe planned if need be.
"Alright, will appear here and search out a planet to terraform." Since I didn't have any planets we would be going in blind but our scanners should pick up something. "With the nanites and time dilation technology we can terraform in just a matter of minutes." While the Asgard were shown to use time dilation more effectively the Lantean's had the technology as well and it worked just fine.
"Both the time dilation field generator and nanite deployment capsules are on Atlantis and we are prepared for departure." Morgan informed me, I nodded.
"Alright, I'll meet with Bol'vak and the Prime's to get an effective plan for Ha and Ma'at. Once that is done we will head off, it's time I leave more in their hands." I had to start at some point, this would be a good test.
"Understood, I will gather the Atlantis crew and await you." Morgan said before she disappeared.
XXXX Star Wars: Unknown Region, BBY 40 BBY XXXX
We appeared in an empty sector of space, I don't know if Bethos had something to do with it or if I was just lucky. "Let's start scanning and get a basic map, I want as far as we can go without sacrificing any data."
"Yes sir." The Asuran science team I brought said as they began working.
Within an hour we had found three planets within a few light years, but all three were gas planets with small planets at the core. With time dilation I wasn't worried about the fact it would take longer to terraform it, I was more worried about the size of them compared to Udhut. We marked the planets for later use and continued scanning, after a few more finds we found a planet that would work perfectly. It was larger than Earth but without vegetation or water, all rock and no atmosphere but the nanites would fix all of that. The capsules held trillions of microscopic nanites that could change things at an atomic level, each were made of vibranium and could take the pressure and heat closer to the core so I could alter a lot of the planet.
"Capsules are in position and we are ready to release nanites."
"Dilation generator is charged and ready to deploy dilation field."
"Alright, release the nanites." I ordered and mentally counted to ten as I got a confirmation they were released. "And deploy the dilation field over the planet."
"Done sir."
"How long do we need to wait?"' I asked.
"In one hour ten thousand years will have passed, as the planet is being terraformed and not cooling like a newly created planet the nanites might be done." Morgan answered from my side. "We can check and if more time is needed reactivate the field."
I nodded and sat back in my chair, while we waited I thought about where to go next and who else to bring in. With the nanites now a confirmed success through the Gibbs family and Wick's I didn't have to worry about not convincing anyone, I just had to make physical contact or inject them with a needle or dart. "I still don't have much of a foundation for my Empire, I need to get some more people in." When I get back we will begin the move to the new planet, that I still needed a name for, and while everyone is settling I'll go personal hunting. I brought up my list of people and equipment to gather and began moving things around.
XXXX
Forty thousand years, or four hours, was how long it took for us to get the planet terraformed to the specifications I wanted. It was 40% water on the surface but had some deep oceans and underwater channels to bring some lakes and ponds to the land mass. Being manmade, or nanite made, I was able to change the stone and earth The 60% land was one connected mass, I didn't want to break up the world in continents like Earth, though I did make some islands just for vacation spots and to build labs or testing areas for dangerous projects. Overall, the planet looked like what I assume Earth did when Pangea was present, just a difference in land to water ratio.
"Gorgeous." I said with a smile as I looked at the world, I had decided my first look wasn't going to be from a screen though, and I wanted to do something I had been thinking about since I became part Kryptonian. I floated in space, barely feeling the cold vacuum as I looked down at my new planet. "Morgan what do the scanners say?"
"Everything is stable, no disasters reported, atmosphere is holding." She listed off. "As far as I can tell we are ready to inhabit."
"Good, I'm coming back in and then will head back to check in." I replied before flying back towards the shield.
"Have you thought of a name yet?" Morgan asked.
"Novas Prime." I answered. "Not entirely original but I believe the Imperial Planet should be named after the Empire."
"And by saying prime we will be naming other planets Novas?" I could tell she was grinning as she asked.
"Yes in fact, at least three planets." I replied with as much snark as I could muster. "You can name the fourth terraformed planet if you think I'm so terrible at it."
"At least you acknowledge it."
