OA took Maggie to the break room and they sat down at one of the tables sitting opposite each other as OA grabbed them both a coffee. He was thankful that the break room was empty as it meant that he could talk to Maggie properly. He had both his hands wrapped around his cup as he looked at Maggie.

"So you want to tell me what happened in Isobel's office that Rina made that comment about I shouldn't tell Mona."

"Just ignore Rina, she clearly thinks that because I stood up for you that we are sleeping together, in her head that's the only reason you would defend a partner." Maggie shook her head sipping her coffee trying to let the anger about Rina disappear briefly "I may have told Jubal and Isobel that what they were doing was bullshit."

OA couldn't help but let out a laugh as that totally caught him by surprise "I'm sorry what? You actually said it was bullshit?."

Maggie shrugged but smiled now seeing OA laughing "I didn't say that I really thought it through before I heard words coming out of my mouth, but I don't regret it. You were right we wouldn't have got Stafford without Vega so he came through on our deal, it was Counter Terrorism that had the issue with him not us. So yeah I wasn't going to just stand there while they made you do their dirty work."

OA couldn't help but smile hearing Maggie, he reached out his hand resting it on her forearm "Thank you Maggie and I really mean that. I know you were not happy with the line that I was walking…. The line that I crossed. I should never have asked you to just follow me blindly like that just because I was struggling with this case."

Maggie shook her head as she heard OA "OA, I appreciate the apology but I can only imagine how hard this case was for you. You were being pulled in so many directions and being accused of things by Vega and Mona, I'm sorry if I added to that for you. I can't understand completely how hard this has all been for you but were partners I'm always going to have your back, that won't change."

"Tiff told me that I can't keep compartmentalising, she tried it, it doesn't work and she's right, but to have Mona question my motives I think is what hurt the most. Instead of being honest with you I put you in a really uncomfortable position and you still had my back in there, you are the reason that I'm not going to arrest Vega right now and you have no idea how much that means to me Maggie that I don't have to do that."

"We aren't going to agree on everything and we aren't going to understand everything the other person is going through on certain cases, I can only imagine what it's like being on the opposite side of a case with someone that you love. I'm sorry that it took me so long to react in Isobel's office when they told you to go arrest Vega."

"Hey it sounds like you might have told them what you really thought" OA laughed shaking his head "When things settle I might have to ask Jubal what that was like, wait that's why he wants to talk to you, are you in trouble with him and Isobel?"

Maggie shrugged "If I am I'll deal with it I don't regret it OA, they should have stood up for you sooner, listening to the way that Rina was talking to you she's lucky that I didn't just slap her" she chuckled softly.

"Well that's one way to get yourself suspended for a few days. You know I hated the way that Rina spoke to me and that Isobel and Jubal stood back and let her but Isobel was right about one thing Maggie, I should have been honest with them. It coming from Rina instead of me was wrong." OA's phone alerted to him a text message and he checked it sighing "Mona wants to meet to talk."

Now it was Maggie's turn to reach out and lay her hand on OA's arm "If you need me after you talk to Mona just ring me or text and I'll come meet you okay?."

OA nodded as he stood up and when Maggie stood up he wrapped his arms around her in a hug "Thank you Maggie for everything. I'll let you know how it goes with Mona and I'll check in with you to make sure they haven't suspended my partner for calling their actions bullshit." OA couldn't help but laugh as he still couldn't believe that Maggie had done that for him.

OA stepped back from the hug with Maggie and he noticed Jubal standing there, he had come in to the break room but stopped when he saw Maggie and OA "Sorry guys I didn't know you two were in here."

Maggie didn't even turn her head to face him when she heard his voice, she stayed standing with OA. OA shook his head looking at Jubal "I was actually just about to leave, try not to go too hard on my partner she was just looking out for me" OA squeezed Maggie's arm gently and patted Jubal's shoulder as he walked past "Maggie I'll call you as soon as I'm finished up."

Maggie turned around to face OA as he left and she nodded hearing him "If you don't feel up to talking just send me a text to let me know how it went and OA just be honest with her okay?."

OA nodded with a smile as he finally left the break room and made his way to go and meet Mona, no idea what was ahead of him. Jubal stepped in to the break room when OA left and he kept his eyes on Maggie even though she hadn't really looked at him other than one quick glance.

"Everything okay with you and OA?."

"We are fine, he wanted to know what I had said in Isobel's office you know when neither of his boss' would stand up for him."

Jubal sighed hearing Maggie and he stepped closer to her "Mags I really am sorry that I didn't speak up sooner for OA, it all kind of happened so fast."

Maggie lifted her head to look at Jubal "You mean that you didn't want to stand up to Rina?. I'm surprised you weren't getting angry at OA for hugging me since she seems to clearly think that I am sleeping with him when not screwing my ASAC."

Jubal sighed again when he heard Maggie's words, he took a risk and took another step closer but he noticed how Maggie leaned away a little, leaning against the counter. "Mags, Rina should not have said that to you about us or about OA. As for her thinking you are sleeping with OA I honestly don't care what she thinks, I know that you both are partners and really good friends. I have no doubts about you and OA, nothing she says could change that."

Maggie took a deep breath to try and calm down the anger inside her, the more they talked about Rina the angrier she got. "So what changed when I left the office, because when I left you were making OA arrest Vega?."

"I told Isobel that you were right, that it shouldn't be OA it should be Counter Terrorism arresting Vega. She agreed and told me to come and stop you and OA so that Rina and her team could go take care of it."

Maggie snorted a little hearing Jubal "I'm sure your girlfriend just loved you standing up for me like that in front of her. At least you know she is going to come back and find you tonight when she arrests Vega, that touch to your shoulder surely left you wanting more."

Maggie may have been acting a little harsh when it came to Rina, but the woman had really pissed her off, flirting with Jubal in front of her, touching him in front of her. Hell even OA noticed the way that Rina was with Jubal, it was just so much for her to deal with. She needed some time away from Jubal to clear her head. Before Jubal could even respond Isobel appeared behind him in the break room,

"Jubal, you are needed in the briefing meeting with the deputy director about this case and the work with Counter Terrorism on this case. We are starting now."

Maggie couldn't help the cold laugh that left her as she patted Jubal's shoulder just like Rina had "There you go some quality time with your girlfriend." Maggie looked at Isobel as she stepped past Jubal "I do want to apologise for the way that I spoke in your office Isobel but I don't regret it, I was just standing by my partner."

Maggie stepped past Isobel who just nodded as she was shocked a little as she had heard what Maggie had said to Jubal, Isobel looked at Jubal who was standing just staring at the back of Maggie as she left. "Give her a little time and some space, this hasn't been an easy case and Rina hasn't exactly been hiding her feelings for you on this. We have all noticed her flirting with you."

"I think letting OA shoot me would be so much easier right now" Jubal shook his head when Isobel looked at him confused "Let's go and I am sitting as far away from her as possible in this meeting."

Maggie sent Jubal a text as he was on his way into the conference room for the meeting 'I'm going to meet OA, Mona ended things with him. I'll ring and let Jenny know that I can't join you both tonight, you should still go spend some time with her.'

Jubal typed out a quick reply 'I am really sorry to hear that about OA and Mona, I'm really sorry Mags, I know you have every right to be angry at me. I just want you to know that I love you and I will do whatever you need me to to try and make this right because I am not giving up on us.'

Maggie closed her eyes biting her lip as she read Jubal's text, of course she still loved him she right now just needed a little time and space to clear her head.
