Jubal hadn't really gotten much sleep the night before, it felt strange not having Maggie by his side in bed, he couldn't remember the last time they hadn't actually slept side by side. It was definitely before Christmas. He had gotten up and was making coffee when his sister appeared in the kitchen.

"Did you actually get any sleep?."

Jubal filled two cups of coffee handing her one as he shook his head "Not really, its strange not having Maggie beside me in the bed."

"Who knew my baby brother had such a sweet side" she teased him playfully to try and make him smile just as her apartment buzzer went off "Look at that saved by the buzzer."

Jubal shook his head chuckling at his sister, he knew that she was trying to make him smile and to help him relax before he had to go home and change and head in to work which he really was not looking forward to. Jenny went to open the door and she smiled seeing who was standing waiting.

"Come in, I think someone is going to be very happy to see you." Jenny lead the way back to the kitchen "Jubal, I've someone here who wants to talk to you."

"What? Who knows I was here?" Jubal asked as he turned around and he froze when he saw Maggie standing here "Mags" he almost whispered it out.

Maggie sat down the sports bag she was carrying on the chair "I brought you clean clothes so you can change here before going in to work."

Jenny looked between them both "I'm going to go make myself busy, anywhere else in the apartment." She joked as she patted her brothers shoulder walking past him heading back towards her bedroom.

Jubal sat down his coffee cup keeping his focus on Maggie, he was afraid that if he stepped closer she would step away from him again like yesterday and he wasn't sure he could handle that right now.

"Thank you for bringing me clothes, you really didn't have to."

Maggie had hardly slept at OA's she had wanted, needed to talk to Jubal, listening to OA talk about Mona made her realise just how much she missed Jubal but last night her friend needed her.

"I went home to get showered and changed so it was no problem and I was hoping that we could talk before work."

"Sure, let's go sit on the couch or we can stand if that's better for you." Jubal was so nervous he really didn't want to screw this up.

Maggie made her way to the couch so Jubal followed her lead, he sat down leaving distance between them. Maggie took a slow deep breath before lifting her head to look at Jubal.

"I really wasn't just avoiding you last night, OA needed some company and I do think I needed the time and little bit of space to figure things out."

"You were being there for a friend Mags I get it, doesn't mean that I didn't miss you though. I couldn't go home to our bed knowing that you wouldn't be there. It's why I stayed here."

"I'm also guessing that you didn't get any sleep?"

"I look that rough huh?" He smiled a little.

Maggie slowly reached her hand out to rest it on Jubal's cheek gently "You still look good to me. You know that I love seeing you first thing in the morning."

Jubal closed his eyes feeling Maggie's hand on his cheek, he leaned in to the touch instantly. This had been the longest that they had gone without any physical contact since they started dating. Feeling her hand on his cheek gave him the courage to move closer to her, he ran his hand along her arm slowly as he looked directly in to her eyes.

"Tell me how to fix this baby because I can't lose you."

Maggie could tell that Jubal was afraid to approach her in case she pulled away from him, it was one of the reasons she reached out to touch his cheek. That and she really needed the contact, she had missed getting to touch him, be held by him.

"There's nothing to fix."

Jubal was sure that he stopped breathing when he heard those words from Maggie, he couldn't believe it "Maggie please, we are worth fixing. We…"

Maggie shook her head hearing Jubal and she ran her thumb along his lips to get him to stop talking "I didn't mean it like that babe, I meant there is nothing to fix because we are okay. I know you aren't to blame for Rina's behaviour, I know that you haven't been doing anything to make her think that you wanted more from her. I'm sorry that I was such a bitch to you yesterday in the break room about her."

Jubal let out the breath he had been holding when he heard Maggie say that they were okay, that was all he needed to hear to move even closer to her, he ran his hand along her back slowly. "You weren't being a bitch, you were angry and upset, I hated seeing you like that but I understood it. I just didn't know how to make any of it better. I swear to you baby that I have done nothing to encourage Rina. You are the only person that I want to be with."

"Oh I was still a bitch." Maggie chuckled as her thumb was caressing Jubal's cheek "I know I was a bitch, I just couldn't take it anymore, her saying to me about screwing my ASAC, putting her hands on you, telling you that she would find you when she came back. Add in the way that she spoke to OA and it was just all too much for me."

"When we were walking to the elevator to stop you and OA you know she told me that I was too late, that you would never forgive me for not sticking up for OA. I told her that I would spend the rest of my life trying to make it up to you because you are my future. That hasn't changed Maggie, I hated not having you beside me last night and I hated seeing you hurt and not knowing how to make it better."

"I know she was being extra when I was around because she knew that I wasn't going to say or do anything in front of everyone. Everyone noticed her flirting with you, the others were talking about it, I can also tell you that they all have the same opinion as OA, they don't want you anywhere near her."

"I don't want to be anywhere near her either, I hate that she can hurt you with her words and actions but I need you to really look at me and believe me when I tell you that I love you more than I have ever loved anyone Maggie. It still scares the hell out of me how much I love you because I didn't think I was capable of being in love like this, then you showed me that I was wrong. You make me the happiest I have been since my kids were born, when I picture my future it's always with you right by my side. I will do everything to keep fighting for you and to show you every single day that you are the only person I ever want to be with, for me it's you or no one."

Jubal knew that he was taking a risk by being so open and honest with Maggie especially it being her or nothing for him but he really needed her to know that she was it for him. He didn't even look at anyone else since Maggie came in to his life, she really was the love of his life.

Maggie had tears in her eyes as she heard Jubal, she kept her focus on him like he had asked her to, he was taking her breath away with the intensity in his words and the passion in his eyes. She knew that he meant every single word that was coming out of his mouth.

"You still have no idea how much I truly love you Jubal, you are everything to me, I don't want anyone but you. You are everything that I could ever want and need, those two adorable kids of yours are a massive added bonus to the Jubal Valentine package. I am in this as much as you are, I am so sorry that I can let someone like her get between us."

Jubal lifted his hand to Maggie's cheek wiping the few tears that had fallen, he leaned in kissing her tenderly laying his forehead lightly against hers. "You have no reason to apologise for it, I can't promise that my behaviour wouldn't be worse if there was a man acting around you the way that she was around me on this case. I just can't spend a night away from you again baby." He whispered against her lips.

Maggie hadn't realised the tears had fallen until she felt Jubal wiping them away. When he kissed her it felt like it had been days ago that he was last kissing her on the roof at work. "I hate spending the night away from you too, I really missed you last night. I missed having your t-shirt to curl up in."

Maggie kissed Jubal as she moved closer to him so that there was no distance between them now, kissing him slowly but with so much love and passion. She ran her hand along his arm to the back of his neck, letting out a soft sigh in to the kiss when she felt his tongue brushing against her lower lip before her tongue. She really did love this man so dam much.

Jubal pulled Maggie in to his lap when she moved closer to him, to him it still wasn't close enough to her and he didn't want to let her go. He had used his words to try and tell her just how much he loved her now he was trying to let his kisses show her that he meant every single word. Breaking the kiss when he had to he lay his forehead against hers pressing small kisses to her lips.

"I love you so much Maggie Bell." He whispered against her lips.

Maggie smiled against his lips, giving back every single small kiss, unable to get enough of him right now "I love you more than anything Jubal Valentine." Her smile grew when she saw how wide Jubal's smile had grown.

Jenny had chosen that moment to walk back in to the room fully dressed and ready for her day at work. She smiled as she saw Maggie sitting on Jubal's lap with their foreheads pressed against each other and she let out a sigh of relief as she walked closer to them.

"Oh thank god, you two have made up."

Jubal turned his head to look at his sister and he couldn't help the smile as he felt Maggie's forehead press against his cheek staying close to him. "You trying to say that you didn't enjoy having me stay over?"

"As much as I love you, one night without Maggie and you look like hell." Jenny couldn't help but laugh.

Maggie laughed when she heard Jenny and Jubal pulled his head back a little to look at Maggie as he gently poked at her ribs keeping his other arm securely around her so that she couldn't move. "Hey, you told me that I looked good."

"To me you always will babe, but your sister might have a different opinion" Maggie chuckled softly as she kissed Jubal lightly.

"Since I don't look at you with those love sick puppy eyes your girlfriend does I can tell you that you need to go shower and get ready for work. Go, I'll keep Maggie company."

Maggie couldn't help but laugh even more hearing Jenny and she stole one more quick kiss from Jubal before standing up and holding out her hands to pull him up to his feet "Go, it will give me time to have a catch up with Jen."

Jubal stood up when Maggie pulled his hands and he ran his hands along her arms slowly "You'll still be here when I get out of the shower?".

Maggie nodded as she gave him another soft kiss "I'll be right here I promise. I'm not going anywhere babe."

Jubal took another minute just enjoying the closeness with Maggie before reluctantly standing back and he grabbed the bag that she had brought for him before heading into his sister's bathroom.
