New York City and in front of City Hall was a podium stand New York mayor as well as owner and founder of the Daily Bugle Communications news media J. Jonah Jameson; he was smiling at the filled crowd in front of him. "The good people of the greatest city in the whole world; in all my years of journalism and now politics I have had the honour of speaking with several presidents and big time individuals. This is one of those occasions and please let me introduce to you the US Secretary of Defense Joe Ledger and the President and CEO of Richmond Industries as well as the congressman for Washington in the House of Representatives; Mr Kyle Richmond!" Jameson said as the crowd clapped as Joe Ledger a blonde haired man in a business suit and Kyle Richmond an African American man in a business suit.
They shook hands with Jameson as they went up to the podium and handed Jameson a big check with the photographers taking pictures. They went to talk in the microphone when there a shake and teleported there were several aliens in black and dark green armor with their skin dark blue; Ledger and Richmond looked stern and serious as people started panicking.
Then suddenly a yellow blur began moving the crowd away from the area as well as Richmond and Ledger; there was now a man in a dark blue and dark red bodysuit with yellow linings and a dark blue mask that covered his face except for his mouth with red goggles. He was James Sanders who was known as the Superhero Speed Demon. "Okay guys; I took care of the immediate citizens at risk..." Sanders said through a communications channel.
Then came out Zarda who began taking out the Kree soldiers with her sword and then there were also a short blonde haired woman in a blue, yellow, red and green bodysuit with a bright glowing multicoloured stone on the palm of her haired which she was using to create construct weapons to fight them. She was Alice Nugent who used the emotion based light powers of the Power Prism to be the superheroine known as the 2nd Dr Spectrum. "So who do you think is leading the Kree here; this is too low key to be the work of old grape skin?" Alice asked Zarda and they got their answer soon.
Appearing in a blast destroying a nearby statue was a large bulky figure with dark blue skin; black face paint; black and dark green armor with a cloak and a large silver hammer. He was known as Ronan the Accuser with his Universal Weapon. He then fighting both Zarda and Nugent at the same time holding his own against them both as Sanders focused on the Kree soldiers. "The Inhuman princess; your head and the Skrull's accursed Prism shall be war trophies along with Hyperion's head..." Ronan ranted but then was sent back by a punching blur.
Ronan got up and glared at the tall muscular ginger haired man in the dark red bodysuit with short sleeves and a yellow atomic symbol, yellow cape which was draped over his right shoulder, yellow briefs over his suit which stretched to his abdomen and yellow boots. He was Mark Milton the powerful hero known as Hyperion who led the team known as the Squadron Supreme which they were a part of. He was a child of the powerful race of being beings known as the Eternals who was sent to Earth to be raised by rural farmers.
"So is your father happy with you for your last big blunder Ronan?" Milton asked him casually as Ronan's glare turned harsher. Ronan was the son of Milton's most powerful and dangerous foe; Thanos the Mad Titan. Thanos was an Eternal born on the moon Titan but had the gene of their enemies and genetic opposite the Deviants and was exiled from the Eternals for his cruel nature. He ended up through his long life creating an empire and was feared throughout the universe.
The Kree Empire had a war with Thanos' forces and he had won and had annexed the dangerous empire and taking the Kree Empress as his wife. Their union bore Ronan who became a top enforcer for his father.
"After the humiliation of my latest defeat I have been exiled from father's court until I can prove myself again and I shall by taking care of his greatest enemies..." Ronan ranted only to get knocked out with a few punches by Milton.
Zarda, Sanders and Nugent gathered near him as Zarda asked "you really had to show us up, didn't you?" Milton smirked at them as the crowd began coming nearer again and cheering for the Squadron Supreme as agents came to take the aliens into custody, Jameson shouted at the photographers to take a picture of him with the Squadron Supreme.
Soon the Squadron met up with Richmond and Ledger, "Wished I had the chance to go and change into my suit." Richmond remarked as he was actually a Squadron member as the vigilante superhero known as Nighthawk.
"Yeah I bet it killed you to have to pretend to be utterly helpless..."Sanders laughed as Richmond glared harshly at him, for all the years that Zarda knew him Richmond was one of the most distrustful and paranoid man she had ever known. Most of the time it felt like he was a part of the Squadron to keep an eye on them.
"Seeing you in action, especially you Alice made me miss being out in the field." Ledger said smiling as he was a retire superhero and Squadron member as the original Dr Spectrum; as an air force colonel acting as an astronaut he had come across the alien Skrullian Spymaster while out in space and had gotten the Power Prism from him. After accidentally killing Squadron member Nitro while trying to restrain him when he was going mad with grief over his parents' death due to cancer that he may have caused; he used a bubble construct to circle him but his powers burned up all his oxygen causing him to die. He had retired after that due to the guilt and how something weird was being felt with continued use of the Prism and passed it over to lab assistant to the late Dr Hank Pym; Alice Nugent.
"Definitely miss you Joe; even if you exposed me to your fellow troops." Zarda remarked with a smirk bringing up a time when he was there filming a PSA with the military in an old purple costume and he had used the Prism's powers to cut the strap of her suit as a prank.
"You will never let me forget about that, will you?" Ledger remarked as they laughed but Milton flew over to the statue that Ronan destroyed when he appeared. They looked and were stunned to see it was a memorial statue to young Peter Parker.
Peter Parker had been a young teenage science prodigy and freelance photographer who had been a big fan of Hyperion and had gotten pictures and with his idol meeting him and forming a friendship with him. He had been a big fan of Superheroes and had been bullied a lot in his high school with his chief tormentor actually getting powers and gotten himself killed in an attempt to be a superhero. Peter had managed to get a freelance job taking pictures of Hyperion and the Squadron for the Bugle and had gotten a reputation for being Hyperion's best pal.
However he had tragically died to mysterious circumstances and Milton especially took the news the hardest in the Squadron; they did their best to comfort Peter's aunt and uncle in his funeral and Milton was never the same after that. More withdrawn and serious...
"Don't worry Mark; we can get the statue replaced..." Zarda tried to assure the man that was her ex and he nodded and asked to give him a minute. The Squadron were meant to be a team but they hardly seemed like it anymore. She remembered how this road started for her.
Long ago in the early days of the human race; the alien race known as the Kree came and experimented on humans intending to create living super weapons; they ended up leaving their experiments behind as they had left. Their experimented humans evolved beyond the normal humans and had become super long lived and powerful beings while creating a Utopia on their little island. They had grown beyond the technology of the normal humans outside their island.
During World War II; sailor Howard Sheldon came across Utopia and upon learning of the war the Utopians decided to leave the planet for somewhere safe but Zarda stayed behind as the island' princess thinking she had a duty to help the outside world as an ambassador and to help fight evil.
She joined the Superhero group known as the Golden Agency and had fallen for Howard but he had died in the war. In his memory; she adopted his surname as her not often used civilian identity as she continued to fight for peace and justice as the premiere superhero for decades. She had become a founding member of the group that would become the world's greatest heroes the Squadron Supreme with Richmond, Milton, Ledger, Skymax the Skrullian Spymaster, Sanders and the aquatic hero Amphidian.
Things did start to fall apart even if things went back up again as they got new members; Peter's death, Nitro's death with Ledger's retirement, Skymax disappeared, Amphidian left the group to stay underwater, the small in stature but super genius Tom Thumb who was responsible or most of their advanced technology had died due to cancer and things became more tense. There were the people becoming Superhumans thanks to mutated DNA but they had disappeared with her not knowing what had happened to them.
Zarda and Milton became attracted to eachother and formed something with the media growing wild with the news but it seemed to be based more on lust and they broke up not long after. Of course Richmond's brooding nature and how paranoid he seemed and how Nugent started suggesting that they try taking over the world to make it a better place. It seemed like joking around at first but Milton it seemed thought that it should be something to consider.
As time went by with all the endorsement deals, merchandise like comics and interviews it seemed like they were getting lost in the celebrity life. Milton seemed to not mind like he was trying to fill a hole and Sanders and Nugent especially liked the limelight. As Zarda Shelton she liked to focus on her boxing hobby at the gyms; using a special necklace from Utopia which dampened her strength and abilities to above that of the normal female boxer.
She had to admit that she liked the rush and adrenaline of the fighting and would go to bars after all as she loved the taste of alcohol; she sometimes wondered what was it like to be drunk as she kept having to fight off drunken fools trying to hit on her.
She and the Squadron made their way back to their satellite headquarters known as the Rocket Central; however no sooner had they arrived did the intruder alert alarm go off. They went to work looking for the intruders as Richmond went to change into his Nighthawk uniform of a dark blue bodysuit with a black symbol on it, a dark blue cape shoulder decorations like hawk claws and a dark blue cowl shaped like the head of a hawk.
Zarda found the intruders in an office and was making a threat with her sword but noticed among them was someone who looked like Peter only a bit older in a ripped up red and blue spider suit like Captain Spider's outfit with two costumed women (one of whom had green skin). She shouted out her surprise as the Squadron came to ask if they found the intruders.
They were stunned by what they were seeing though Richmond looked perplexed and suspicious. "Uh we came from another Earth and we come in peace... Do you know me Ms Xena and am I dead here?" Peter ended up asking in shock.
Ronan here is based on his Ultimate version who was Thanos's son so I am making him a mix of movie Steppenwolf and Kalibak.
