Peter, Carol and Jennifer were taken to the main area of the Rocket Central; Richmond took samples of their blood with a vial. "I must warn you that I was never at getting my shots..." Peter joked to which Richmond glared at him harshly, he watched Jennifer and Carol get their shots and asked "how are you able to do that anyway, their skin is pretty much above what can shatter even normal Superhuman skin?"
"A combination of Vibranium and Adamantium." Richmond answered simply as he put the blood samples into the computer to analyse along with the face recognition from the security footage. The other Squadron members were watching standing by.
"Well he certainly jokes like Peter does but if he is telling the truth about coming from another Earth then does that he mean that he was bitten by the spider and not the Thompson boy?" Milton asked looking at Peter's torn suit. "Plus is the green one related to the Hulk? If so can we trust her?" Milton asked and Jennifer glared at his direction.
"My cousin and for your information he is a hero just like all three of us are." Jennifer told him sternly as Richmond spoke up.
"Some fools consider him one as well for how much you can call an ecological terrorist a hero." Richmond had said as Jennifer shook her head glaring at them.
Then AIDA the AI system for the Squadron spoke up saying "Though their blood shows that they have been altered to develop superhuman abilities; they have shown a match with certain individuals along with the facial recognition." Then the monitor showed Carol's profile from the US Military "Match: Air Force Colonel Carol Danvers." AIDA said.
"You can call me Captain Marvel." Carol answered simply as the monitor then showed the profile of a human Jennifer Walters in glasses. "Match: Jennifer Walters; lawyer at Goodman, Lieber, Kurtzberg & Holliway. Cousin to Bruce Banner better known as the Hulk." AIDA said.
"Proud to call myself the She-Hulk but just Jennifer is fine." Jennifer said with her arms crossed shaking her head.
Finally it showed an obituary of a younger Peter Parker with glasses as AIDA said "Match: Peter Parker; Empire State University student and freelance photographer. Deceased."
Peter was nervous at seeing that he was on another Earth where he was dead; he nervously said "well I am considered New York's friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man!" He then faced Zarda and asked softly "So Zarda is it; you knew my name so can I please ask if you knew my other self here?"
Sanders laughed as he sped in front of Milton and said "the Squadron knew you but mostly Hyperion here our leader as you were his human sidekick! A recluse so I liked you call you the amazing shutterbug!" Milton and Zarda glared at Sanders as Hyperion walked up to Peter and looked down at him softly.
"Even if it's a different you from the one that I know... It's still nice to see you again Peter." Hyperion said putting his hand softly on Peter's shoulder. "Welcome to the Rocket Central the headquarters of the Squadron Supreme. I'm Hyperion, you've seen Zarda and there's Speed Demon, Dr Spectrum and Nighthawk." He said greeting Peter.
"Well thanks for having us here Hyperion and sorry for what this must feel like seeing me... Wait, why do you call this place the Rocket Central..." Peter asked and then noticed a window looking out into space with wonder to much amusement from the assembled heroes.
"Well I don't think we have any of you back on our Earth; you see we are members of the Avengers and we are the main heroes of our Earth." Jennifer explained, "You see we were talking to eachother and Peter had this inter dimension transportation device that was malfunctioning and it took us here..." Jennifer said as Peter went and showed them it.
Nighthawk took it and said "I don't know how a clown like you got a hold of it but if I do enough studying, I should be able to figure out how this works and fix it. Hope you didn't have plans back on your Earth because I assume that you will be stuck here indefinitely." Nighthawk told them and they sighed.
"This guy doesn't sugarcoat things, does he..." Peter muttered as the looks on the other Squadron members pretty much said that it was putting it mildly.
"You are welcome to stay here for as long as you need to as guests of the Squadron; we have plenty of spare rooms as well as clothing for you." Milton said showing them to the rooms corridor of the Rocket Central.
Peter was thinking about how this superhero knew his deceased self here and asked hesitantly "so sorry if this is too tough a topic but my other self... What was he like?" Milton looked down and Peter looked apologetic giving quick apologies as Carol and Jennifer looked uneasy.
"It's alright; he was a bright boy whose life was taken too short. He loved superheroes talking to his Aunt and Uncle made it sound like he didn't have much friends; he told me of the story of when a bully named Flash Thompson had followed him to a public demonstration at General Techtronics Labs; Thompson got bitten by a spider and ended up getting himself killed after a brief career of calling himself Captain Spider. He wondered how things could have been if he was bitten by that spider instead." Milton explained and Peter was amazed knowing how Thompson laughed off when Peter at school asked students if they wanted to come to the demonstration with him. Plus talking of how this Peter didn't have much friends like him; how things could have been different if he hadn't been bitten...
Flash Thompson got himself killed; he was a thug and an arrogant jerk at high school but he had mellowed out and joined the military. "Let me guess, you were bitten at that demonstration. I suspected as much when I saw your face and your costume after you said you came from a different Earth." Milton smiled they entered the room. "We should have extra clothes for you to change into but it's a shame that I don't think we can replace your suit..." Milton said but then Peter grinned when he showed Milton the spare in his bag.
Richmond had went to his lab and looked at the wrist device as he placed it on the table fascinated by it; this could have possibilities but these so called Avengers could pose problems. Especially the alternate Parker...
He activated a monitor and said to call President Kelly; it revealed a line to US President Robert Kelly in the Oval Office at the White House. "I have an important meeting so this better be quick..." Kelly said but Richmond interrupted him.
"Tell Burbank that I need to see him." Richmond said but Kelly shook his head.
"He's busy with important projects and..." Kelly replied but Richmond shook his head.
"I have something I need his help on so take him away and say they will have to put on the backburner." Richmond replied and Kelly looked furious. "Remember Kelly I am not a servant of your administration so let's not pretend that you are anything less than a puppet. I can ruin you anytime that I wished. I was the one who put you on the throne so if I don't have Burbank sent over in 24 hours then I will see if your vice president will be better at knowing his place." Richmond told him sternly and Kelly was silent as he nodded.
Jennifer and Carol went into their own room with the two beds here, "Looks like we will be roommates once again. You think Peter's muscles look good outside of that spandex suit?" Jennifer asked grinning and Carol shook her head.
"You both know that we are stuck on another Earth and we have to rely on Superheroes we know nothing about and have to rely on some Nighthawk to fix our ticket home." Carol stated with her arms crossed.
"Carol, after all this time doing this job and being an Avenger; this is pretty normal for us. If they turn out to be bad guys then we kick their butts and find a way back like we always do." Jennifer told her and Carol guessed that she could indulge and pretend to share with Jennifer's optimism. "So back to my question?" Jennifer asked and Carol kept her arms crossed.
"You are asking this after last night when Peter had no control over what he was saying thanks to the dumbest genius ever." Carol replied with a big shake of her head.
"Come on Carol; even then his respect for us showed through even admitting how much he wants to get with us. He's a sweet guy, a complete dork and not bad in the looks department so I think he would be the best choice besides Steve because everyone is crushing on him. We both know that we have been slowly falling for him for the past year. You remember the F, Marry and Kill game?" Jennifer asked and Carol cursed her for bringing up the time that she was somehow talked into playing that stupid game with some female SHIELD agents.
"I got a little too much to drink..." Carol started but Jennifer interrupted her.
"You said you would F him, marry him and then F him again. I so wished that I thought of just choosing both options when it was my time instead of just having to go with marry." Jennifer laughed and Carol was glaring at her. "Come on Carol; let's see if he is interested in either of us for real. If not or it doesn't work out then we can make sure it doesn't ruin our friendships together. Would you be fine if he is interested and doesn't know to choose." Jennifer told her and Carol was silent for a minute; thinking she wouldn't mind dating a guy who was with someone else but was open about the arrangement and was not just cheating on someone.
"So what's your plan: we flirt with him and see if he likes either of us to be in a serious relationship if not both of us in a polyamorous relationship? Let him know that we would be fine if he doesn't want to pick us? Plan on how not to squash him death in bed?" Carol asked and Jennifer grinned. "You know Jennifer; it's planning skills like that that makes me wonder why you are not higher on the hierarchy for leadership of the Avengers."Carol muttered sarcastically but Jennifer looked proud of herself.
You have just seen me with the last section utterly fail at the Bechdel Test.
