I wish I owned DBZ, but I don't. I own DVD's and tapes, but it just isn't the same. Nor do I own any legal imprinting of whatever theme I'm using, such as a crossover with another anime, movie or TV series. Did I think it up? Yes. Was I the first to think it up? Probably not, but I digress. I also don't own the rights to any of the music pieces you see selected, just the merchandise, such a shame. The artists that created them are geniuses and we all must bow to them.

Chapter 12: Priest

Verto flew towards the Korin Tower area with a focused intent while Sonny rode sitting up on his back. At times he had to remind Verto to slow down a bit so he didn't fall off. Aside from a quick apology, Verto was deep in thought the whole time; enough that Sonny was curious.

"For something that shouldn't be a problem, you sure seem concerned," he pointed out.

Verto's eyes shifted sideways, "It's not that. Well, not directly anyway. The way you described this cult is making me think there is something else going on. I doubt it but it sounded like something I've seen before."

"You've dealt with religious zealots before?"

Verto smirked, "Not personally no. Anyways I don't think there's much to this aside from Wheelo using them to gain followers, but I have a weird feeling about it."

"Well get it together, there's the gathering site!" Verto locked on to where Sonny was pointing and made for the small array of tents and vehicles.

Sonny realized he wasn't slowing down, "Wait, aren't we going to sneak in?!"

"Nope."

Sonny cringed as Verto sped towards the ground, slowing at the very last second to let him get down safely. The landing certainly did not go unnoticed as every person nearby looked up and in some cases moved in closer.

"Um, kid. Why did you have to land right here?" Sonny asked nervously as he reached for his sidearm.

"Relax, I've got this," Verto said. He set about scanning every single person's energy signal. Since he was using and sensing Psi energy instead of Ki, the scan was much more effective. What he sensed of energy was practically nothing, and there was little mental presence in anyone. Had he been only sensing Ki like Krillin did, he would have noticed only a slight fluctuation which each of them. One advantage for falling into that trap the other night. Looks like they're pretty much all cyborgs. Well that was expected. Most of the crowd of maybe twenty or thirty stared at them before going back to their own activities.

"They're ignoring us," Verto muttered.

"For the most part that happened yesterday too," Sonny added.

"It makes sense, but they probably all have some sort of special programming that makes them all turn on a dime. We saw that with the REDIC guards."

"Well well, look who's back already," a voice said. Verto sense Sonny's mood change before the sentence was even finished and thus knew who had spoken before turning around. The very muscular form of Ace Maxwell practically filled his field of vision except for the frail looking old man in the red cloak next to Ace.

"You only brought one pipsqueak with you this time," Ace chuckled.

Verto scowled but not at the remark, Something is different about this one. He is no cyborg. Ace's energy signal was not all that high, but was certainly more of a noticeable presence. Verto's eyes focused on Ace intently as he identified it, He's got Dark Psi. It's not a lot, but definitely there. How did Krillin miss this? He only mentioned that he was strong physically and the priest. He turned his attention to the old man who was just a bit taller than Verto was. He did indeed sense an odd energy but it was also familiar, like they had met before.

"Nothing to say? Is he a mute?" Ace laughed.

Soren put his hand up, "Do not antagonize our guest Ace."

Ace glared down at him, "Why not?"

Soren smiled, "His appearance is a sign sent by our god, Torev. He will descend soon!"

"This punk?! No way!"

"Pardon my associate's rudeness, I am Soren. I apologize for any inconvenience you may have had in being brought here. We will be leaving the area today. Please thank the natives for our use of the land."

Verto's eyebrow went up in confusion, "Come again?"

"We will be moving our prayer site as soon as the volunteer crew finishes cleaning up." Verto and Sonny glanced around to see that the cyborg humans were indeed doing just that. The stage was being torn down and trucks were being loaded up for departure.

"I'm confused, I thought you were sacrificing people up here?" Verto asked.

"We are," Soren replied. This prompted a slew of blank stares in disbelief. Ace even stared at the priest but said nothing.

"Okay. Then what is going to stop me from tearing this place and all your grunts apart?" Verto countered.

Soren shrugged, "Who knows. Only the Lord Torev knows such things. What I do know is that it doesn't matter what you do here today, it is far too late to stop the coming storm. His righteous fury will cleanse this world!"

Verto grimaced, "Okay, you're nuts. Let's go back to the steroid freak. What are you?"

Ace grinned, "I'm better."

"That's up for debate. You look like a retarded pro wrestler."

Ace's grin turned to anger in a flash, "Say it again runt! I dare you!"

"I'll say it slower for you. Retarded, pro, wrestler." Verto sensed a distinct change in Ace's energy signal in that moment that was more than just anger. There was no obvious visual display aside from gritted teeth, but he sensed it nonetheless. It's more than dark Psi, it is demon energy. It isn't a lot, just traces amount embedded in his human Ki, but it's there. Krillin wouldn't have been able to detect this, hell I wouldn't have either had circumstances not occurred like they did. Despite his inner dialogue, Verto did not panic.

Soren stared at him for a moment before turning to his partner, "Perhaps you should go assist the others in packing up."

"Hell no! This punk is long overdue for a lesson in pain!" Ace bellowed.

Verto smirked, "Oh I'm well versed in that. I suggest you calm this bloated idiot down before he gets a demonstration."

"That is it!" Ace punched straight at Verto's head, stopping a few inches shy when he struck a thin blue shield.

"Oh dear. Calm yourself Mr. Maxwell and maintain your patience. You should not challenge this one. He is on a much higher level than the ones yesterday," Soren pointed out.

"Good advice, you should take it," Verto added. Ace growled and backed off for the moment.

Sonny, who had been quiet, stepped closer, "Explain yourself old man."

"There is no need. The followers of Torev will continue to spread His Word. The loyal will be rewarded, His enemies will be expunged from this world," Soren declared.

"And by enemies, you mean us?" Verto asked.

Soren smiled, "Perhaps. You can be saved by disavowing your flawed beliefs and converting to the Word of Torev. He will show you the way of true justice and enlightenment." Verto turned slightly as he attempted to sense Soren's energy. It was difficult at first but he managed to break through and sense a potent presence. It was not demonic or overly abnormal in nature, but it did feel a bit strange.

"Your attempts to understand me are a waste of time young one. You have already met me once before," Soren claimed.

Verto's eyebrows shot back up in confusion, "I have?"

Soren nodded, "Knowing my identity will not provide any answers you are seeking now, only more questions. Perhaps in time you will understand what is happening, but that is not for me to reveal and it is far too late to matter."

Sonny stared at Verto, "What is that supposed to mean? When did you see him before?" Verto didn't answer as he tried to decipher Soren's words.

Ace grumbled, "Just let me end these two already old man. You know they'll try and get in our way before we're ready!"

Verto caught the slip, "I thought you were ready. You seem to think that it's too late to stop you."

Soren snorted slightly, ignoring Verto's statement as he turned to Ace, "You'll only be wasting your life, and my time. But if you think it will help, be my guest."

Ace cracked his knuckles, creating quite a pop with his large hands, "No problem. I'll squash these two into paste!" Ace lunged at Verto with both hands coming down in a hammer blow. Sonny ducked out of the way as the impact would have occurred, only to turn and see Ace had struck the same blue energy shield as before.

Verto's hair ruffled slightly as he looked upwards but spoke in the direction of Soren, "When they ask what happened to him, tell them that mistakes were made." Out of the shield a burst of blue lightning erupted, running right through Ace's arms and into his body. He screamed in agony as the Psi Storm ripped through his body. The burst lasted only five seconds, but the result was Ace crumpling to the ground in a slightly burnt, smoking heap.

Soren grimaced, "I was hoping that it would not turn into this."

Verto glared at him, "Well, since you seem to know everything there is to know, what the hell did you expect?"

"A little more caution and delicacy from you. I see I was mistaken," Soren exclaimed.

"He was warned. He gets up and touches me again, it gets worse. As for you, why would I exercise caution if I'm already too late? Answers, now. Or you're next," Verto warned.

"Um, kid…" Sonny muttered aloud. Verto became quickly aware that all of the cyborg-humans were moving their way, surrounding their position in a semi-circle as they closed in.

"I don't suppose you want to warn them too? If they'll listen," Verto said with a deep frown.

"Unfortunately, that is out of my hands. That is completely up to them," Soren replied.

"Is it?"

"Yes, you may ask any of them."

"No way, the ones we've encountered so far all had their personalities stripped! They were running off a program designed to turn them into killing machines with the press of a button!" Sonny argued.

Soren sighed, "Yes I am aware of that. However, you will see that these people are not robots. Ask them yourself if you do not believe me." Verto's eyes narrowed when he picked up Soren's energy fluctuation that represented a lie. Like Sonny before, he could not tell what about Soren's statements was false. Verto eyed the closing crowd and picked an Indian woman that looked like she belonged in Maize's village.

"You there, why are you doing this?" he asked. She and the rest of them stopped.

"Because our Lord Torev demands it. I didn't believe it at first, but then I was shown the way and saved from my body's limitations. Now I will not age or break easily," she explained.

"Brainwashed you too eh?" Verto sneered.

"No, you do not understand. The divine liquid great Soren gave me took me on a dream journey to which I met the Lord Torev and he told me how to live from now on. He granted me greater strength to aid him in eliminating his enemies and the other threats to our planet," she explained further.

"Me too," a man next to her said.

"Yeah me too!" Another said from the other side.

Verto ignored most of the words except for the initial part, "Divine liquid?"

Soren nodded, "The pink vials you may have noticed yesterday Detective."

"Yes, I distinctly remember those. I think your mother would be very interested in examining those," Sonny said in a low tone.

Soren pulled one from his robe, tightening the cork at its top as he offered it, "You may without subterfuge, if you let us go."

Verto's face lit up in surprise, "You would just give one of these away?"

Soren smiled deeply, "We mean you no harm as long as you do the same. You may take one of those vials and examine it as much as you like. There will be nothing dangerous about it. As you can see, Ace is not a robot." Verto glanced over at the slightly bleeding heap of Ace, who was struggling to breathe as he managed to get to one knee.

Sonny frowned as he took the vial, "There was a green one too."

Soren's smile faded, "I'm afraid I cannot let you see that one. It is not for the same purpose." Verto noticed his arm dive into his robe for a moment as if he was grabbing something but he did not reveal anything in his hand when he brought it back out.

"So, that's it. You're just going to gift us the pink vial and we'll be on our merry way?" Verto asked in disbelief.

"That is the deal," Soren replied.

Ace growled as he stumbled to his feet, "Hell no!" He quickly reached for a surprised Verto and managed to grab a hold of his head. He didn't manage to do much else when a bright blue beam shot through his chest and entire upper body. Dark red blood splattered onto Verto's face as what remained of Ace dropped to the ground, revealing that he indeed was no robot as his insides began burning up immediately. Verto immediately saw that there was some sort of black material in the blood, signifying that there was definitely something off about Ace.

Verto rubbed the red fluid off his face and starred at it intently before brushing it off, I feel good about my demon energy theory. Hopefully that has no abnormal effects. Not a very strong one if that blast wiped him out. The crowd gasped in shock as Ace's remains burned up in fire, many of them backing up in fear. It was not unlike Verto's Soul Blazer attack, but this had wiped out the top of Ace's body and likely sent him straight to King Yemma.

"Was that really necessary?!" Sonny asked in an exasperated tone.

Verto snorted lightly, "He was warned. Not my fault he didn't use that walnut he had for a brain. Anyone else want to test that?" A low hush came over the small crowd, but no volunteers stepped forward.

"I think you got their attention," Sonny said.

Soren sighed, "Well, the fool did ask for it. Come my friends, we should be going."

"No, we're not done here," Sonny declared.

"Yes, we are," Soren said as he raised his arms. A bright flash went off and covered the entire area with its light. Verto and Sonny covered their eyes to protect against the brightness. When it cleared, they found themselves in the same exact place. Only Soren and the crowd of people were gone, as well as all their equipment.

"That guy's trick is annoying," Sonny muttered.

"I wonder why he didn't do it before," Verto mused.

"What do you mean?"

"The moment we came he could have done that and saved himself a lot of trouble, and your bloated former friend would still be alive. Why did he wait until after I killed him?"

Sonny shrugged, "I don't know, but I'm not complaining! Here, you hold onto this." He handed Verto the plugged pink vial, to which Verto moved to put it in his pocket. Sonny was fumbling around with a capsule as this happened, and Verto heard the very minor clink that came with the vial bumping into another of its kind. Verto pulled it out and discovered a green vial in his pocket. What the? I did not pick one up. How did it get there? He quickly put it back in when he sensed movement coming closer. Out of the sky, a familiar green man with a turban and a cape dropped down and landed, startling Sonny.

"Geez! Watch it with those surprise landings!" Sonny shouted at him.

Piccolo frowned and ignored him as he stared down at Verto, "If you two are done here, you need to come with me."

"Why?" Verto asked.

"Supreme Kai has summoned you, that's why. Detective, you can return to Kame House on your own, right?"

Sonny gulped and looked through his capsules, "Umm, I have a car, but it doesn't turn into a boat. Also, who are you?"

"His teacher, one of them anyway. You can stay down here with your friends at the base of the tower. He needs to come with me to the lookout now. When we're done, he'll come down and retrieve you," Piccolo ordered.

Sonny glanced at Verto in frightened confusion, who only shook his head, "Just do what he says, it'll be easier. I'll explain after I'm back from whatever this waste of time is about to be."

Piccolo didn't say a word as he took the lead in flying to the top of the lookout. Verto trailed behind him, waving to Korin as they flew past the top of the tower.

"I don't suppose you're going to tell me what this is about?" Verto called out. Piccolo didn't answer in any way, just kept flying. Whatever. Upon reaching the lookout, he spotted three figures at the center of the platform. Popo and Dende were the expected pair, with Piccolo joining him. The surprise figure was standing across from them, looking different than he last had.

"Kibito? You unfused from the Kai? I thought that was permanent?" Verto asked the tall pink being.

"Only in specific circumstances, but that is not for me to explain. Come, I must take us to the Great Kai Planet to meet with the elder," Kibito explained. Verto grimaced but stepped next to him. Kibito grabbed his shoulder and teleported them, causing the lookout to vanish. It was nearly instantly replaced with the purple skies and green grass of the Supreme Kai's planet. Verto sensed several powers there, but only one did he not at least somewhat recognize.

"Come with me, they need to speak to you," Kibito said as he took lead. Ahead, Verto identified the unfused Supreme Kai, Shin. Next to him was Elder Kai and a tall blue figure that Verto had not met. He held a long staff and dressed in clothing that resembled Egyptian culture to a point. He had a large ring that seemed to float around his neck but allowed him to move freely. His white hair defied gravity as it danced slightly with the light wind. Verto realized that he could not sense the tall blue man's energy, and that concerned him slightly. He didn't seem malevolent by any means just considering who was next to him, but it was still concerning. Standing across from him, was a certain redhead that Verto had not seen in a while, but knew quite well at this point.

Leira's here too, what could this be about? As they got closer, Verto could pick up on some of what they were talking about.

"…Are you sure there is no sign of her?" Shin was asking.

"None, I checked the area she should be thoroughly and found the only other being that should be there. He was not helpful and ran off as soon as he could. I'm not sure where he went," Leira said as she twirled a dagger in her hands.

"We have not detected her whereabouts either. This can only be bad, which is why we summoned you here," Elder Kai said to the tall blue man.

"You want me to wake up Lord Beerus?" he asked.

Verto's eyes narrowed, Lord Beerus? Who the hell is that?

Elder Kai panicked, "No, no, no! That pain in the neck will only create more problems. Can you help us search for her? If anyone can trace her current whereabouts, it is you Lord Whis!"

The tall blue man smiled slightly, "You overestimate my abilities Elder Kai. My powers of observation do have limits, but I will do my best." The orb at the end of his staff glowed as he peered into it. It wasn't but a few seconds before he seemed to have an answer, "I can't see where exactly, but she is definitely on Earth. Her exact location is hidden from even my sight. There must be some sort of impressive dampening field in place that can block even my sight."

Verto's eyes narrowed, Who are they talking about that's missing? Kibito cleared his throat, announcing their arrival and prompting everyone to look over.

"About time!" Elder Kai said first.

"Apologies elder, there were delays in retrieving him," Kibito said with a frown.

"Let me guess, knee deep in some sort of trouble? Or did he not come when called? This is very important young man!"

Verto glared at the aging Kai with annoyance, "Despite what you think, coming here is not at the top of my priority list."

"Arghhh! You should have more respect!"

"And you should be in Depends Diapers any day now," Verto muttered more than a little loudly.

Shin promoted a more peaceful approach, "Verto, we brought you here because we needed to see you. Your energy binders reversed, did they not?"

Verto stared at his wrists, "Yeah, and?"

"Leira came to repair and restore them to what they were," Shin pointed out.

Leira stepped over, "Just stand still, you know the routine."

Verto was hesitant at first but then gave in, "I don't suppose there's any way to talk you out of it."

"Nope, we had a deal. So, unless you want to change the terms of that deal and come with me…" Leira trailed off.

Verto's answer was immediate, "Still no."

"Thought so, I am curious as to how they were polarized in the first place," Leira said, giving Verto a beaming look.

"Electricity I believe is how that happened," Shin explained. Verto shook his head with an angry look for the betrayal.

"Ah, that makes sense. I will just have to make a minor change and that should not happen again," Leira said as her palms glowed. Immediately Verto sensed his Psi energy vanish shortly before he felt his Ki slowly fill back in.

"Maybe you should stay out of trouble for once," she suggested.

"You don't know what's been going on, do you?" Verto asked her.

"On Earth? No, I've only been keeping an eye on bigger issues. You should not be sticking your nose into every little thing though," Leira said as she poked his nose with her finger.

Verto wrinkled his face slightly as this odd behavior, "Dr. Wheelo is causing a ton of trouble again and Frost is likely going to be in on it too! They're turning people into robots!"

Leira gave him an odd mix of a smile and a frown, "Well I'm sure it's nothing you can't handle. Just know that we'll be keeping an eye on you, so watch yourself nephew!"

Verto looked at her like she was possessed, Okay, who is she and what has she done with Leira? If she's acting this strange, it likely means trouble. She's never stopped a conversation that fast before.

Leira shook her head slightly and rubbed Verto's shoulders a bit, "You haven't had a meal or a good night's sleep in a while. Best get to it before you exhaust yourself. Let your friends carry some of the weight on your shoulders."

"Okay seriously, what the hell is going on?" Verto demanded.

Whis chuckled, "He's the one you mentioned? I see you weren't kidding about how on edge he is. You really should relax sometimes, otherwise you run the risk of being as uptight as the Saiyan Prince."

"Okay, don't know you or why you brought up Vegeta, so I'll be nice and get to you in a moment. How come Shin and Kibito are unfused?" Verto asked next.

"We used the Namekian Dragon balls to un-fuse ourselves. It was getting difficult for the both of us," Shin explained as Kibito nodded.

"I thought that was a permanent thing?" Verto asked.

Elder Kai cleared his throat, "Only if done between Kais. If done with mortals, it lasts one hour. However, a Kai can change the Potaras to behave as if a mortal is a Kai, like I attempted to do for Goku during the Majin Buu mess."

"That doesn't explain why they broke apart, nor why Frieza and Cell didn't break apart when they used them. I recall you specifically saying certain rules about those earrings," Verto pointed out.

"Correct. I was not aware of all of the properties of the Potara, I was sealed inside of that sword if you recall. Anyways, Goku and Vegeta exceeded the power limit on those earrings, it was something even I couldn't predict. The young Kai's earrings were already enchanted due to being used by a Kai, so they stayed that way when they were knocked off and handled by those two dead beings. Hopefully no one else ever gets a hold of them in such a way. You will be glad to know that we took the liberty of changing them back to normal in your room, so they will only last one hour. But you can use them under emergency situations," Elder Kai explained.

Verto frowned, "Maybe next time don't break in or ask permission first. Or do I have to bring Vegeta with next time?"

Elder Kai shook his head, "Anyway, we have to inform you that it is imperative that you stay out of trouble for awhile."

"Why?"

"Because you should! We can't afford you going missing too!"

Leira scowled, "Old man!"

Whis let a slight gasp slip, "Uh oh."

"Who is missing?" Verto asked straight away.

"No one you know, not your problem," Elder Kai said.

"Does it have anything to do with the events on Earth?" Verto tried again, this time glancing at Shin.

Shin paused for a moment as he eyed Leira, "We don't know."

Leira cleared his throat this time, "It isn't your concern right now anyway. We will let you know when it is. Stay home, and don't get involved with things! I'd rather not have to give you a spanking."

Verto snorted as he stared at her, "Like I would let you."

Leira smirked back, "You'd try to resist."

"Okay this is getting weird again. If you aren't going to be forthcoming then just take me back now," Verto requested.

"Go ahead Kibito, we're done here," Shin said with a wave.

Kibito nodded and grabbed Verto's shoulder with the purpose of teleporting away.

Verto glanced at Whis, "Wait, we didn't get a real introduction."

Whis smiled lightly and waved, "I am known as Whis. We'll leave it at that until next time." Kibito nodded and teleported away, taking Verto with him.

Leira starred at the sky with a grin, "I think that will do."

"That seemed like a very silly way to let someone know to be on the lookout. He seems the type to not do what you say," Whis claimed.

"Exactly, there's a reason why I wanted him to hear some of that," Leira explained.

"So, you think he can find her?" Shin asked.

"If she's on Earth, yes. If my guess is right, all he has to do is stay on the trail he has started on," Leira said with pride.

"It would be easier if we could just tell him. Or even get involved ourselves. I really don't see what the problem would be," Shin said.

Leira glared at him, "You really didn't get much training did you? You know they're all watching for timeline disruptions. The fact that they are taking place continuously is a problem, we just can't be the cause, or they'll report us to the realm's top overseers. Even as a member of the Guardians that watch over all the realms and their timelines, I have little to no sway over them, nor would my superiors. We took the vow long ago that the overseers of each realm have the final say, and we really wouldn't have that much of a choice anyway. We merely guard against those who would corrupt the timelines, more specifically the demonkin. Despite that, I cannot even be sure if they are causing the changes, and until we know, we can't act. That is why I asked Whis to be here."

Whis smiled lightly, "Well I'm not sure I could talk any of them out of drastic action, but the fact that she is missing is a major problem that warrants waking Lord Beerus. It won't matter in a few days I suppose as he should be waking up any time now."

"One problem at a time. If only you could pinpoint where she is being held," Leira said.

"My apologies but there must be an extremely powerful force blocking that. I can only see what planet she is on, and that is Earth. I agree that pointing Lord Beerus solely at Earth would be bad, but once he is awake and demands action there is little I can do. Just like you said," Whis explained.

Leira sighed, "Fine, just stall him if you can, or don't bring it up. Knowing him, he'll just destroy the planet, which won't solve anything."

"Lord Beerus has always been the type to blow something up first and ask questions later, usually forgetting to ask," Elder Kai remarked.

"Quite right. "I'll do my best," Whis claimed as he tapped his staff to the ground. He promptly exploded into a mass of light which went screeching into the sky and vanished.

"I'm still not sure involving Lord Whis and potentially Lord Beerus is a good idea," Shin said with concern.

"It's not, but if timeline changes are being allowed at such a high rate, we have to know who and why. The fact that it appears to be happening and centered around Earth is concerning. Not only that, we can't even see it happening," Elder Kai reminded him.

Leira nodded, "And if anyone can get to the bottom of the events happening on Earth, it is my little troublemaker of a nephew."

"You're sure he got the message?" Shin asked.

Leira chuckled, "Oh he did, I didn't even have to speak telepathically."

What the hell was that all about? With Leira acting that strange and friendly, it can only mean that they were telling me things I wasn't supposed to hear. Must be her way of telling me to keep doing what I'm doing. As if I wasn't going to anyway. She's always spoken telepathically though, hell half the people there can read minds anyway. No idea who the blue guy was. Who did they mean by a missing person, all I got was 'she'. Who could they mean by that, unless… Verto paused in thought as he flew himself and Sonny back to West City.

Kibito and Piccolo hadn't said much of anything when he was left back on the lookout, and Sonny was busily checking his cell phone while waiting. They remained quiet for the flight back, though Sonny knew Verto must have a lot of his mind anyway.

"I'm leaving you at Capsule Corp, Detective," Verto suddenly said.

Sonny glanced up from his phone, "Okay, is there a reason why?"

Verto grunted slightly, "Yeah, I've got some things to think about and I'd rather do it alone."

When they reached Capsule Corp, Verto wasted no time in seeking out Bulma with Sonny in tow. He presented the two vials immediately and answered any questions she had before leaving. When Sonny asked how he got both vials he immediately lied and said he had grabbed the other one faster than anyone could see. Both Sonny and Bulma realized that Verto wanted to be alone as he had barely said a thing aside from need to know information. Once he had flown off, Sonny felt the need to ask questions.

"Does he always brood like that?" he asked Bulma.

Bulma shook her head a bit, "Only when he is troubled, he'll come around though. Did he happen to mention what happened on the lookout?"

"No, I can't even tell how high up he went," Sonny said.

"It's quite a long way up there. Anyway, I can take a look at whatever this stuff is but it will take some time. If he hadn't flown off immediately he could have given you a ride back to Kame House. Or if you like you may stay here. I doubt anyone will be stupid enough to come after you," Bulma offered.

Sonny nodded, "I'm not sure I'd want to be stupid enough to try and raid this place. Too bad others in my office did not feel the same."

"Yeah, well I'll take a quick look at the pink one first before I run it through my analyzer. Let's see," she paused for a moment while adjusting the microscope and placing a small droplet onto a slide.

"This is interesting. It looks like there are miniature machines in here. They're really small, even under the microscope I can't make them out too well," Bulma commented.

"What are they for?" Sonny asked with slight alarm.

"I won't be able to tell without some testing, that will take a few days. Let's see the other one," she said. When she put the dropper into the green vial, it bubbled slightly but nothing appeared to happen. Upon putting it on a slide and into the microscope however, she noticed an energetic reaction immediately. The microscope suddenly exploded, not harming her but making it difficult to investigate.

"Potent shit," Sonny said as he dared tilt the green vial.

"Aside from highly explosive nitroglycerin, there shouldn't be anything on the planet that does that under a microscope. And you said they FED THAT TO SOMEONE?!" Bulma exclaimed as the sheer gravity of the situation grasped her mind.

"Well, in fairness he was already dead. We didn't see him again," Sonny said.

"Well either way, we have to find out what Flandal and his friends are up to. There's no way this is just a religious cult that is randomly starting trouble," Bulma remarked.

"Agreed."

"I'll get started on the other one, hopefully it doesn't blow up too. Once it is done and we have some answers, we should bring my husband in on this," Bulma said without hesitation.

Sonny was more than a bit alarmed, "Wait, what?"

The angel Whis soared across space to the home of his master, the God of Destruction Beerus. He held a small knapsack full of food for the trip, with no intention of sharing it unless needed.

That boy was interesting. I didn't get the full story about him and it was strange that they were insistent about handicapping his power. Perhaps I should investigate him at a later time. For now, I need to prepare for my lord to wake up. That will be trouble enough. It hasn't been since Planet Vegita was still around that Leira was poking around in this realm. I will need to make sure Lord Beerus does not know about her presence unless necessary. Last time he blew up five solar systems and ordered Planet Vegita's destruction by Frieza. Granted he probably would have done that anyway, but he does hate dealing with time disruptions. Upon reaching the planet that resembled a shrine, Whis touched down on the landing pad. There was a strange fish in a floating mobile tank waiting for him.

"Oh, Seer. You don't normally greet me," Whis commented.

"There was someone here while you were gone. I hid because I sensed they meant business. I think they were trying to loot the place," Seer said with concern.

"Really? I find it unlikely that someone could just happen upon this place, nor would they want to risk waking Lord Beerus. But I will inspect the palace nonetheless," Whis said. He and the Seer both scaled the steps that led into Beerus' chamber, finding only the sleeping purple cat god right where he should be, snoring quite loudly.

"Well, no harm done here," Seer said as he floated away. Whis looked around carefully but did not detect anything either.

"Oh well, whoever it was must have realized their mistake and fled. I suppose while I'm here I should confirm how long it will be before our lord wakes up," Whis said as he rose into the air. The floating alarm bombs ticked away their sand unabated as he peered into them, finding a different result than he expected.

"That's strange. I could have sworn there was much less time. It looks like I was wrong, we have a few years before I have to stock the pantry it seems," Whis surmised as he floated downward. Behind him, a shadow darted across the walls and quickly made for the nearest exit. Whis took notice and turned, but the shadow was already long gone.

The angel's eyes narrowed, It seems we are being watched after all. I had better check my records on when Lord Beerus set his alarms to go off. If it is different, then someone does not want Lord Beerus waking up yet, for better or worse. If this realm is being monitored for any timeline changes, I cannot intervene unless called for as it will risk a reaction and create a rather large mess to clean up. That would be quite unfortunate. I suppose I will just have to sit back and watch the events on Earth from afar.

A/N: While I don't normally go out of my way to answer a question, I placed this scene in here on purpose to do so.

WDG: And so it snuck into canon...

VB: Meh, why not. Had every intention to do so anyway…
