A/N Cat is listening to all this

"she's not awake Jade, I was promised she'd be awake today" cries Tori as Cat's nose twitches
"Tori calm down, Cameron said there was a complication, like she's paralyzed or something, for instance her nose twitches, look at the monitor, her heartrate and breathing indicate she's awake, you're expecting a lot if what took her a month you expected her to be able to do in a week" says Jade as Cat's nose twitches again
"I really don't like seeing her like this, do you know by chance how many times she's had to endure this torture" asks Tori as she cuddles Cat carefully
"as far as I know this would be her third time going through this, once when she was four, once when she was eight which led to me becoming her friend and now, she's had plenty of small ones but only three big ones like this, if I believed what she believes I'd have to say God was preparing her for you, making her stronger, allowing her to help you and anyone who will listen" says Jade
"I have to agree, if she'd been the same Cat everyone from school knew nobody would have listened to her advice period, but around new years last year people really started to notice something different about Cat, there was talk that something big was happening, she suddenly started acing every test, only lane noticed she asked for the exact same classes you did Tori" says Trina
"are you saying she cheated on tests to be around me" asks Tori
"no she couldn't have, she hates writing on her skin and always handed the teacher her phone, there was no way she could have cheated on those tests Tori" says Jade
"so she's living her dream with me then" asks Tori
"exactly what we're saying Tori, she's playful not confident, showing herself that she can pass tests by studying enough gave her the confidence to ask Sam in September to help her ask you out" says Jade
"do you think she knew this was gonna happen to her, the coma I mean" asks Tori
"most likely the moment she realized the medication Cameron switched her to wasn't working ya she probably knew it was coming, the problem with seizures Tori is you can rarely tell when it's going to be a big one or not" says Jade
"Tori have you kissed her at all this week while she's been in a coma" asks Trina
"I kiss her every chance I get Trina, Ashley hasn't been here as much because she's working, but she sleeps here, we both adore Cat so much, neither of us want to live here, we'd love to be able to go back home, in Ashley's eyes being here isn't protecting ANY of us from that cult, in her eyes if they wanted to kill me nothing would stop them, though she admits me being here to get treated for my problems was a good thing, that I'm more of who she remembers I was before she had to move now than I was when she came back into my life in December, to be honest I feel a lot better too" says Tori as she cuddles Cat as Cameron walks in
"I've got good news and bad news Tori" says Cameron
"what's the good news" asks Tori
"she has fought the allergens in her body that have accumulated in her body since the last time she was in a coma and will survive this" says Cameron
"what's the bad news then because that kinda seemed dark" asks Tori
"she will be in a state of paralysis for the rest of the month, the good part of this news is she can hear you and feel your touch and will gradually be able to speak over the next week or so" says Cameron
"so as long as she wears the silk bodysuit she won't seize, what about making love, how would that work going forward" asks Tori
"she can still seize Tori, you or anyone she interacts with would have to wear special clothes and gloves to prevent her from seizing, as far as making love is concerned you just need special silk sheets and any toys you use as well as your hands must be washed prior to the act, otherwise you guys are fine, also if you get the sheets she doesn't have to wear the bodysuit in bed" says Cameron
"so if I'm getting this right she won't have coma level seizures anymore as long as we follow the rules of her condition" asks Tori
"exactly, what caused such a bad coma inducing seizure is the meds she was on, it stopped her body from dealing with the allergens from the clothes so they built up, the moment I took her off those meds so she could be herself her body would have started attacking the allergens and things went nuts, small doses ala hugs will be fine going forward as her body will deal with them in the moment" says Cameron
"did she know she could be paralyzed from her bodies reaction" asks Tori
"she was told it could happen yes, we have someone here who is allergic to uv light and was only brought here after Cat's family acquired it because her family couldn't keep up with the medical bills, she was kinda rebellious and went out in a bikini to her pool at her house and started burning really bad which is the reason she was brought here" says Cameron
"did this girl have a bad seizure just like cat" asks Tori nervously cuddling Cat as Cat's nose wiggles again
"yes, she was fine till we got her to her room, see we have special uv blocking glass on all lights in the common rooms that have lights but we don't always do so for patients rooms unless required and the doctor taking care of that part of the facility mis-stepped and didn't put the glass cover on her lights, she was out cold for a week, she's awake now but feels all alone" says Cameron
"does she like girls or guys, how old is she, maybe I can help her get confident" says Tori as she tics
"you can't interfere, you don't have any authority here" says Cameron
"look I understand you have protocol here Cameron but if this girl is scared to love solely because of her condition then Tori is the best person to help her, I spent two months with Tori trying to help her understand herself and I learned as much about her as I did myself, trust me even confused and her life turned upside down Tori always manages to have the best advice" says Jade as Tori bites her tongue
"ok fine, her name is Avery and she's about Cat's age so a few months younger than Tori, she's a big Pink princess fan, honestly I'm not entirely sure if she prefers guys or girls, she doesn't really say much but her eyes are a beautiful rare grey" says Cameron
"can you bring her here so maybe I can help you guys figure that out, also why do we have that glass uv blocking thing in our room" asks Tori
"I can only ask her, I'm not gonna force her to come talk to you guys, also Cat has a slight reaction to uv light, not sure if it's a reaction to the brand name meds she's on or what but her ears can turn dark when she gets too much UV light on her ears" says Cameron
"do you think she's allergic to uv light like Avery" asks Tori
"Cat isn't allergic per say but is susceptible on some level, it's generally just her ears" says Cameron as Avery bursts in
"Oh my God Ashley you didn't say this was their room" squeals Avery
"Ashley McKenna what the hell did you do, why is she up and about" asks Cameron
"I was introducing her to her fellow patients, she wanted to try and make friends, I told her specifically that this room was out of bounds for her" says Ashley
"she needs her rest after that burn she got that sent her here" says Cameron
"I couldn't help it Aunt Cam, I wanted to meet and talk to people" says Avery
"hold on she's your niece, isn't that like a conflict of interest" asks Tori
"believe me I begged my sister not to bring her here for that exact reason" says Cameron
"trust me aunt Cam mom, didn't want to send me away, dad lost big and couldn't pay the mortgage so he was put in jail last week, we were staying at my friends house when I got burned, we lost the house I grew up in, I was only able to get my clothes, my primitive cellphone and my laptop and only because they were paid off or paid in full" says Avery
"what makes you depressed Avery" asks Tori quizzically
"not having a nice phone or knowing if my friend and her mom let my mom and I stay in their house because my friend loves me or if she was just being nice" says Avery
"if your friend is a fan of either Andre Harris, the Pink Princess or me I can help, but first do you have feelings for her" says Tori as Cat's ears wiggle
"the pink princess, like me, I mean I think I like her but there is no way she likes me, her social is @fairyprincess2990, if you think you can do something please do" says Avery
"come here, see the girl in the bed with me, that's Cat Valentine, known to the public as Pink Princess, if you can keep that secret I'll buy you a phone and talk to this girl friend of yours" says Tori as she moves cat farther back to make room for Avery
"I can keep that secret" says Avery laying on the bed beside Cat as Tori gets up
"everyone out, I'm making a video call, the only people allowed in here right now are Avery, Cat and I, you have work to do Ashley" says Tori as everyone leaves and she puts in earphones and makes the video call
"holy cow Victoria Vega why are you calling me, I'm kinda nervous, do you know where Avery is" asks Vanessa through the headphones
"Avery is the one that gave me your social, look do you like like her" says Tori
"I mean she is the cutest girl I know, people think she's a freak because of her grey eyes and her sun/uv allergy, people are saying her stupidity in wanting to tan got her killed, please tell me she's alive" says Vanessa
"she is alive, if I were to have a helicopter come pick you up from what I can only assume is an LA house would you come visit her" asks Tori
"Malibu house not LA also I have school, I can't leave to come see her, even though I really want to, I hope you don't mind the way I speak, I was born mostly deaf which from my experience basically means I could only hear my own breathing or heart beat" says Vanessa
"I'll be frank with you, she was in a coma for two weeks, I can tell just from the way she spoke that she was in pain from the burn, she wants friends so bad and in my opinion if you love her you should be here with her" says Tori
"but Cali is locked down tight right now, I need to visit I can't" says Vanessa
"that's largely because the cult that's after me tried to hold an event in LA, the feds wanted to make sure LAX was the only place they could land so they could be arrested" says Tori as Avery's eyes widen
"you are in a safe place right, what was their plan anyway" asks Vanessa
"yes I'm in a safe place, long story short they believe I worship the devil and want to keep my head in a jar so the Devil doesn't rise and make earth a living hell" says Tori
"can I see Avery, I want to see her eyes" asks Vanessa
"you can't see her through my phone no, it's against the rules here, if you want to see her you have to be here" says Tori
"how am I supposed to do that" asks Vanessa
"you have a valid medical condition that could in reality cause you to be sent here, medical operations are allowed to operate, so say your hearing device failed, you'd hit Cameron up at the fighting for life centre here in LA and she'd send someone out to get you" says Tori
"my parents spent a lot of money on my implant, it's not gonna fail" says Vanessa
"oh honey medical devices fail all the time, my sister in law just had one fail for three days then just randomly started working again" says Tori
"wait so you're finally engaged to Cat and Ashley then" asks Vanessa
"you can infer whatever you want from what I said but it won't make it true, part of Avery's fear is that she misunderstood why you took her and her mom in, so I need to be forward and ask if you have feelings for Avery" asks Tori
"well that was to the point" says Avery brushing Cat's hair
"yes I love her, I'd recognize her voice anywhere, to be honest my implant has been acting up a bit, is there any chance you can get me there" says Vanessa hopeful as Tori sends Vanessa a number
"have your mom call that number, I'd say you could do it but there needs to be a third party approval, my dad had to approve my staying here" says Tori
"I wouldn't have to actually be assessed and stuff would I" asks Vanessa
"to a degree yes but given your hearing problems being already diagnosed it will mostly be updating your health information for the record to make sure everything is up to date" says Tori
"what if I want Avery in the room with me, is that allowed" asks Vanessa
"I was allowed to have Cat in the room with me but as she was a patient herself she wasn't allowed to listen to my assessment, it's a general rule that not many people ask for an exception to, though if you seriously need Avery to be there and listening in you can ask but it may not be granted" says Tori as Vanessa's mom comes into view and Vanessa mutes for a second
"well my mom just said that I need to pack a week's worth of clothes, she said while she's unsure about a relationship between me and Avery that I should get my implant upgraded with the newest most reliable model and that I should be there for Avery, apparently a helicopter is coming to pick me up, I love helicopters, just the amount of science needed to make one work makes me squeal" says Vanessa
"well you go pack" says Tori as she hangs up
"so she's coming, like for real" asks Avery as she finishes French braiding Cat's hair
"ok I've never seen Cat's hair like that, ya she's coming, what's her obsession with helicopters" asks Tori
"she's a massive science nerd and it's absolutely adorable, she once made me these really cool uv safe gloves, they only lasted a week but holy cow did they work, she won that year's science fair" says Avery
"if that's the case then most likely Cameron will hire her to work with you and a few doctors working to solve the uv sensitivity problem" says Tori
