I wish I owned DBZ, but I don't. I own DVD's and tapes, but it just isn't the same. Nor do I own any legal imprinting of whatever theme I'm using, such as a crossover with another anime, movie or TV series. Did I think it up? Yes. Was I the first to think it up? Probably not, but I digress. I also don't own the rights to any of the music pieces you see selected, just the merchandise, such a shame. The artists that created them are geniuses and we all must bow to them.

Chapter 27: Dark Fury

Inside the great red barrier, hundreds of warriors and cyborg slaves watched the ominously shimmering teal-green energy covering Verto, who only hovered in place. Despite easily visible clenched teeth and spiked hair that flowed gently above him, there was no movement outside of his hovering.

Torev couldn't hide his surprise, but he could hide his thoughts on the matter, What the hell happened? Don't tell me his power has… His thoughts were cut short when a burst of power flashed and passed through his position. Torev's eyes widened momentarily before he also clenched his teeth, out of frustration.

Are you ready?
Get up, get up
Get up, get up

"What is this power?" Wheelo asked, intrigued by the display.

Torev still looked stunned, "I honestly have no idea. I think she knows though." Torev was referring to the passed-out Kaon, who he held in his arms as she had not woken back up.

Sorbet glanced at him, "Lord Torev, you possess that brat's genetics. Are you sure you have no idea what this is?"

"Don't look at me, I can barely even detect whatever the hell this is," Torev said with an angry shrug. It wasn't a complete lie; he wasn't sure what he was seeing. Frost overheard this and stared down Verto, with both deep concern and curiosity. He was mostly concerned with Sorbet's estimate of what Verto's power could be, or rather, what ceiling might have just been broken. The Kihon Corps along with Bojack's crew got back to their feet after having been blown down, though Bojack's team was definitely more wary. The brown brother, Mudare, dared get closer to inspect.

His golden brother Sandare put his hands up in caution, "No brother, stay back, we don't know what this means!"

Mudare was undeterred by this and stepped closer, feeling no hostility or energy in the air. If there wasn't a rage-driven Saiyan before them, it could have easily been mistaken for a frightened animal. Mudare allowed his right arm to transform into gooey mud again and proceeded to hold it up as a ball of it formed in his hands. He fired several balls of mud that struck Verto cleanly and stuck to him, slowly covering his limbs in sticky mud.

"There's nothing to worry about Lord Frost. This is clearly a false façade he is conjuring to try and trick us!" Mudare claimed as he glided in.

He got close enough to let a large amount of mud drip off his arm and cover the young half-Saiyan completely as he flew around him to wrap the trapping mud. Just as his body was covered and Mudare started on his head, Verto's glare suddenly shifted to him. Mudare felt slightly unnerved by the pupil-less green eyes, but continued to glide around him. Just as he was about to coat Verto's face, the Saiyan's mud covered arm shot out and snatched Mudare by the throat. Mudare gasped and choked as Verto twitched his fingers enough to cut off his air. After a moment of struggling, Mudare's entire body turned into the same gooey substance and Verto was suddenly only holding onto more mud. The mass of mud flopped to the ground and rolled away on its own for a moment before it grew out of the ground and reformed into Mudare's body.

He smirked as his skin hardened again, "Physical attacks are useless on me Saiyan! Now be a good boy and stay still, I want to make sure your coffin is the right size!"

Are you ready now?
For the revolution. For too long your power
Has been taken away, It's been taken away

Verto's intense glare deepened and the odd energy surrounding him erupted, completely dispersing the mud in the process. Mudare was stunned and wasn't sure what to make of this. Verto's energy flared again and promptly eradicated the dirt and mud around them in a wide circle, in which Mudare found himself covered in the same green energy. This also produced another column of energy like before that stopped at the circle of dirt's outer edge and continued to shimmer, though dark purple spots began to form randomly in the odd aura. Verto held his arm out and suddenly grasped the air, and Mudare's body hovered into the air out of his own control. Mudare panicked as he realized that it was Verto's power doing it and attempting to turn into mud again, but the strange energy held him firmly together.

"What are you doing?!" Mudare asked in panic.

Verto clenched his fist, and Mudare's gooey body suddenly turned into a bright cyan mass of light energy as he screamed. His brothers moved to help him but were trapped outside the column of energy that Verto was emitting. Verto opened his hand, and Mudare's body began to flake off of him as if he was nothing but a pile of leaves made of light. A tiny purple bubble of energy shot out of Verto's hand and struck Mudare's midsection. The result was a small explosion of energy flakes of what used to be Mudare, before they simply evaporated into the air. Absolute dead silence followed as Verto's column of energy faded, as he only looked at the ground as the remnants of Mudare floated about. Everyone else's eyes were wide and the vast majority of them were shaking in fear at the powerful display. The only ones who were not panicking were Torev and Frost, though they were not excited about the prospects either.

Before the pieces of what was Mudare had even cleared up, Verto simply faded from view. He reappeared next to Piccolo's downed body as his hand glowed green. He bent down and forced this energy into Piccolo's body, and a moment later the Namekian's torso filled back in, regenerated. The Namekian also coughed lightly and appeared to breathe again but didn't make another move. A collective gasp from the onlookers followed, all of which had assumed Piccolo was dead.

Wheelo in particular was impressed, "The resiliency of the Namekian is incredible!"

Frost didn't appear to agree as his powerful aura reemerged as his body swelled in size for a second time and horns grew out of his head. His mask fell off as his natural white armor covered most of his body and his eyes glowed red. The power surge that followed ripped the rest of the ground around him to pieces and generated a consistent heavy wind.

Torev guarded against the power increase, "Well he's not messing around. Soren, get the weaklings out of here."

Soren glanced at him in question, "Oh dear, and I thought I was to do nothing no matter what happened?"

Sorbet nodded, "That's right. If Lord Frost wants us to leave, he will say so."

Frost's head turned with an angry glare, "LEAVE!"

"Soren take the Namekian and leave the barrier up at all costs! We can't let our enemies figure out what is happening," Wheelo urged. Soren nodded and held his hands high while he channeled his magic. Portals emerged all over the field and soldiers of all kinds rushed to them to escape. Bojack was reluctant to do so until his team literally pulled him away. The Kihon Corps were not as hesitant considering what had just happened to their brother. Wheelo and Kochin were quick to leave as well, as was Sorbet though he turned back when Torev didn't budge.

"Lord Torev, our leader has spoken!" Sorbet declared.

Torev's eyes flashed red, "I do not take orders from you. Get lost before I have to remind you of that." Sorbet promptly ran through the portal which closed behind him. Verto watched all of this happen and did not move a muscle, though he did make a particularly long stare at Torev, who held Kaon protectively.

"Soren, send her someplace safe, and then get yourself outside the barrier. If she dies, you will have me to answer to!" Torev ordered as he set Kaon down.

Soren nodded and snapped his fingers, "Of course my lord." Kaon promptly vanished as did Soren, though he reappeared outside the barrier. Piccolo's body sank into another portal, which Verto noticed before turning towards Frost who had just finished transforming into his giant form. More spots of purple energy came out of his aura as he gave Frost an intense death glare.

Does your heart feel heavy now
Savor the solution
Take those mental shackles off
And throw them away
You've got to get them out of your mind
Don't you let their vision leave you blind

The calm green and shimmering aura that seemed to define Verto's presence then vanished as a primal growl came out of Verto's throat. His glowing green eyes then completely shifted to the deep, dark purple color and a more normal, but a violently flowing purple aura appeared around him that was laced with black lightning. The air and sky inside the barrier then darkened to the point it seemed like it was nighttime, though Torev could clearly see the sun's light just outside of the barrier. As he turned back, Torev's eyes widened when he realized that he could now easily sense the energy being emitted by Verto, and it wasn't a small amount.

Torevwinced slightly as he was able to measure Verto's power, which was much higher than it was a short time ago, Damn, is his demon energy maturing? This fast?

Frost seemed to also detect Verto's power as well, and took one step forward. Frost doubled over as a small but fierce fist had met his enlarged stomach, causing an eruption of spit and blood to hit the ground. Verto stood just under Frost's slumped giant form with his fist outstretched.

Torev sweated nervously as he hadn't even seen the movement. Verto then grabbed Frost by the leg and threw the huge body aside like it was nothing. Frost blinked sharply as he was now flying through the air but had no time before Verto phased in and blasted him in the face with a sharp kick. Frost tumbled towards the ground, upside-down, and out of his own control. He managed to flip around and slow his speed, but as soon as he looked back up, a glowing purple fist slammed into him. Frost landed roughly, half in pain and half in shock at the ease of which it was done. He scrambled to his feet as Verto landed and stared him down, keeping the angry expression on his face as continuous waves of incredible energy poured off of him.

Frost spit blood out of his mouth and lifted off, raising a finger to the air and charging energy, "Screw you kid, I'll end it now!"

Torev immediately blasted off the ground and hovered high in the air, "Watch it, even with the barrier that will do serious damage!"

Frost gave an uncaring glare at Torev, "So be it! You might want to make yourself scarce, for this will explode rather violently if met with equal or greater force!" The energy above Frost's finger rapidly expanded into a vast orange ball of death, somewhat similar to what his family often used to get rid of problems, and planets.

Moving steady now
It's a revelation for so long your
Focus has been taken away
Now you're breaking away

"Super Nova!" Frost shouted as he began to direct the humongous ball of energy downwards.

Before Frost's finger could even clear the altitude of his own head, a vicious uppercut found his chin courtesy of Verto, who promptly phased out as the enhanced Death Ball began to envelope Frost on its way down.

"How?!" Frost shouted as he dropped to the ground with his own attack all around him.

Torev was watching this exchange as Frost managed to slip out of the orange energy and fly below to regain control of it. Torev then saw Verto appear high above the Death Ball and pulled his arm back as it charged energy. He didn't even bother with announcing his Final Shine attack and just aimed forward as a torrent of shimmering purple and black energy surged out of his hand; smashing into the Death Ball before piercing it and finding its way to Frost's shocked face before the explosion triggered.

There was no sound, only bright monochrome light that threatened to shatter the barrier when the impact wave struck it. Torev was barely able to block against the force that was emitted, and he was near the top of the barrier. Half of the ground literally melted into a lava pool, though most of this was quickly bombarded by water as the ground had given way enough for the nearby lake to leak outwards. Frost lay on the smoldering ground that hadn't melted, with his giant form now a smoking ruin of a body. His arms, legs and torso were bleeding profusely, and his mechanical eye was destroyed. Torev couldn't help but gasp in surprise at the result as he lowered his guard, and eyed Verto carefully as the raging aura continued around him.

I have no idea what that was before, but that is definitely demon Chi energy flowing out of him now. It's at a greater level of power than I've ever sensed before. How did he pull this off, and how can I match it? Torev then hunched down and powered up, and similar purple energy flowed out of him as his hair stood up while his eyes remained red. Verto glanced at him briefly but overall did nothing as he kept his attention on Frost.

"Hey, don't you ignore me tough guy! What is this power you have?" Torev shouted as he lowered down to match Verto's altitude.

Verto continued to keep his eye on Frost, which caused Torev's anger to supersede his own reason. He charged in and attacked with a flurry of punches and kicks, drawing Verto's full attention as he dodged the attacks easily. This stopped abruptly when Verto's hand suddenly appeared in Torev's face as if to tell him to stop. Torev paused in surprise before Verto's fist smashed straight into his forehead, sending him crashing into the barrier. Torev's head bled from the impact, but he was not deterred and came right back, engaging in another flurry of hyper punches and kicks. Verto's arms became a blur as he began blocking the blows easily. Below, Frost stirred and managed to get to his feet before summoning his energy again.

They think they know you but
Here's an education
No they can't control you
Once you've broken away
They're done patrolling your mind
When they're searching for you, they will find
A force they aren't ready for

"Damn it all!" Frost roared as his body cracked apart with red light being emitted.

His giant form shattered apart, blowing off large chunks of his natural armor and leaving behind a fair amount of clear, wet residue. Frost then stood up in his fifth form, covered in new, pink skin instead of armor; and breathing hard in anger as he stared at his own hands. His once-missing eye opened uneasily as it had been regenerated by the technique, but he was no less angry about it. His tail had also been completely regenerated, though most of it was resting on the ground as the rest of his body ached. Once he caught his breath completely, he looked up at Torev continuing to punch and kick at Verto; having no success. Frost blasted off and joined in on the attack, forcing Verto to glide backwards cautiously. Frost charged in with Torev right behind him, missing a clothesline attempt when Verto glided right by him easily. Torev also missed a flying kick attempt when Verto ducked but he fired an intense energy wave on the way by. It exploded over Verto's body but showed no damage had been done once the blast wave cleared. Torev's purple aura expanded in fury for a moment out of frustration as Frost flew back up to hover beside him.

"He broke my ultimate form with barely any effort, what is he?" Frost asked.

Torev shook his head, "I have no idea."

Frost's eyes narrowed, "Somehow I doubt that. His energy seems like yours, could this be the same demon energy you possess?"

Torev nodded, "It is right now but that isn't like mine. I'm not sure what happened before, I would've been able to sense it if that was the case, and I couldn't detect anything. Even like this though, I have never seen anything like it."

Frost snorted lightly, "Well you were literally born yesterday, so I suppose you wouldn't be a reliable source of information."

Torev glared at him before turning his attention back to Verto, who waited patiently, "We need to combine attacks. At least then we might know where we stand."

"Did this thought just now come to your monkey brain? Of course, we need to combine attacks!" Frost shouted as he charged a vivid red beam into his palm.

Torev followed suit, charging a powerful purple Galic Gun attack in his palms before thrusting them forward. Frost fired at the same time, and the dual attacks combined into a swirl of angry purple and red. Verto's death glare didn't subside, but he did fire off his own purple beam from one hand to counter. A beam struggle ignited between the two sides, further ruining what was left of the land below. Frost and Torev poured energy into their side, while Verto held up his counter with what appeared to be very minimal effort. This showed as his counterattack pushed the combined Frost-Torev beam back at them easily.

Are you ready?
They aren't ready for you to be strong
Are you ready?
They aren't ready for you to prove them wrong
Are you ready?
They aren't ready for you to be turned into someone
Who cannot be preyed upon

"You've got to be kidding me!" Torev grunted as he quickly emptied his reserves of energy.

His hair became golden again and his eyes green as he appeared to turn Super Saiyan Two, but it was more like he was forced into the form instead of assuming it. Frost took note of this and appeared to supply more effort, but for naught as the mass of deadly energy approached them like a freight train. On the other side, Verto coughed up blood suddenly, and descended towards the ground, discontinuing the attack as his aura vanished. The beam struggle also ceased as the counter beam vanished, prompting Torev and Frost to stop firing, though the evil pair were both gasping for breath. Verto coughed again and panted slightly as he wiped the trace of blood from his mouth.

"What the...? Is he giving up?" Frost dared to ask.

Torev's eyes narrowed as he sensed Verto's energy, "Feel that? He's weakening! All that damage he took earlier must finally be catching up!"

That's enough already now
You don't want to take it
All your reservations have been taken away
They've been taken away

Torev pushed past Frost and raced down to where Verto landed, with a strong punch leading the charge. He got within inches of Verto's deathly glare before his target ducked. Torev's world exploded in pain as the point of Verto's elbow impacted him directly in the sternum, which when added by Torev's momentum, dealt a serious damaging blow. Torev immediately gagged and coughed up blood himself that dripped down his chin and onto Verto's arm. Verto seemed incensed by this sight and pulled back before delivering an equally nasty uppercut that jarred Torev as he was sent flying upwards. Before Verto could follow up, Frost came flying in with an open knife hand strike that was intended to take Verto's head off. Verto phased out and kicked Frost in the back of the head from behind. Frost spun around quickly just as the lands lit with bright purple from a few feet away. Frost held out both hands to push the energy blast away but was instead pushed back himself dozens of meters as his feet ripped into the ground to try and stop his motion. Just as he managed to slow down and get control, he saw Verto phase out again. Frost could only turn his head as another potent blast was fired at him from range, and he was caught in between them. He screamed in searing pain as they detonated around him. The blasts cleared quickly, showing Frost down to one knee and covered in painful burns. Verto landed before him, panting slightly as he held out his hand and energized it. This time, he conjured his energy sword which now matched his current power in color as it snapped to life. Frost's eyes widened as he realized that he was probably about to meet his end. He promptly placed two fingers on his forehead and phased out instantly, reappearing much further away near Torev, who was still trying to recover but had at least gotten to his knees.

"Get up! I cannot take him alone," Frost demanded. Torev struggled to even stand as his chest and ribs were severely damaged.

He finally spit out a sizable batch of blood from his mouth which came with a loose tooth, "Eat shit, Changeling. I'm not sure if you've noticed, but neither of us can do this alone."

"I'm glad you realize that. So much for your theory about the amount of damage he has taken. He seems to be focused on me, I need you to take advantage and attack from his blind side," Frost ordered.

Torev snorted, "What the hell do you think I've been doing?"

"So far, nothing," Frost replied, earning a disgruntled growl from Torev. That confrontation ended when Verto suddenly phased in just a dozen or so feet away. He held out his other hand and produced another sword as his eyes filled with raw fury.

So you think you're ready now
For the revolution
Yeah, they can't control you
Once you've broken away
You've got to get them out of your mind
When they stand before you they will find
A force they aren't ready for

"Oh hell," Torev muttered as he and Frost dropped into nervous stances. Verto charged forward in the blink of an eye, intent on cutting both of them in half. Torev blinked sharply when Verto vanished, and then he heard a footfall behind him, feeling no pain himself. He and Frost glanced at each other in surprise before turning around. Verto stood with his back to them, gasping for breath with his arms held out, but both energy swords were gone.

Torev's eyes narrowed at this, His energy is falling again. Verto stared at his hands for a moment before clenching his fists and his aura flashed back on, filling with black lightning again, only this time it came with a noticeable scream. This erased any thoughts that Torev or Frost had about his energy fading as his powerful aura widened slightly. Verto's eyes stopped glowing and filled in completely with black, which gave him a terrifying expression to behold. This black also darkened the skin around his eyes and cheeks, forming variable vein lines.

Frost was pushed back slightly by this power-up, while Torev could only stare in wonder, "What is happening to him?"

You got to get them out of your mind
When they stand before you they will find
A force they aren't ready for

Are you ready?

Frost elected not to stand by in awe and charged in, landing a powerful knee strike to the back of Verto's neck. The Saiyan went down hard as Frost sailed past him, turning around to follow up the attack. Verto got up so fast that Frost barely registered the recovery before another purple energy blast hit him in the face from inches away. Frost fell backwards before his torso was lit up by dozens of rapid-fire punches; each impact making him regret attacking in the first place. Torev flew in and attempted to interfere, but Verto spun just in time to see him coming and met him with a headbutt that spread some of Torev's blood to Verto's own face. Torev was able to respond and grab Verto by the arm, yanking hard and feeling a definite pop in the process. Verto cringed in pain as his left shoulder went limp and he was dragged to the ground. He managed to swing his legs and kick Torev's out from under him, releasing his limp arm. Torev hit the ground hard, and when he opened his eyes, he saw nothing but bright purple energy waiting for him. Just as Verto would have fired, a thin red beam crashed into the energy blast and forced it away. Frost stood there with his finger pointing at Verto, though wearily as he gasped for air. His body had quickly reverted to its base form and he was covered in cuts and scrapes. His torso had been turned into a reddened mess as a result of Verto's physical barrage, and he was barely able to move due to this. Frost fired again, but Verto batted the Death Beam aside like it was a piece of paper. Torev took the opportunity to jump up and tackle Verto, using his slightly larger body as leverage. This did not last long though as a short but broad purple energy sword shot right through Torev's side and arm courtesy of Verto's right hand. Steam evaporated off the blade as the powerful Chi blade boiled the blood and cauterized the wounds instantly, but that didn't stop Torev's left hand from falling away, completely severed.

"Owww, mother fucker!" Torev shouted painfully and fell to the side motionless for the moment as he held what was his wrist, which was now just a stump.

Verto gasped for breath as he stood back up, and another beam of red hit him in the back, stunning him for a moment. He turned around and laid a hateful expression on Frost that frightened even the evil Ice Demon. Frost fired several more times out of desperation, and Verto didn't even care to block them as they impacted his body and drew blood. The snarls that came out of the younger boy were that of a very angry and feral animal. His purple aura reappeared, and the accompanying black lightning cut through the land, hitting Torev a few times but causing minor damage. Frost stopped firing and could only watch as Verto's power raged around them like a hurricane. As this occurred, his torn wristbands started to glow with golden light again. A moment later, Verto stood up straight for a brief moment as his aura died off and his eyes suddenly shifted back to normal before he promptly stumbled forward and fell. He hit the ground as his energy completely faded, and he ceased to move.

"What? That's it?" Torev asked in disbelief as he struggled to get up. Frost couldn't believe it either but didn't dare wait for an answer as he rushed towards the Saiyan, seemingly intent on ending the threat.

Just as he would've arrived, Torev phased in and caught his fist with his remaining hand, though far from easily as he was forced backwards and dropped to one knee, "Wait!"

"You've got to be kidding me! After what just happened, no way do we take any chances!" Frost argued.

"I agree, but this power he showed, we have to find out what it is. That wasn't just a last stand like the Namekian showed. And personally, if I am capable of the same thing, I would like to know," Torev pointed out as he held his left arm protectively. Verto's Chi blade had stopped the bleeding for the moment, but it didn't make it hurt any less. His side was the worse wound though, and blood was trickling out at a fairly decent rate.

Frost scowled as he turned fully towards Torev and glared down at him, "Understand this, Saiyan, I respect your strength. I take every threat seriously, and I do not make snap-decisions like an irrational monkey. This boy will pay for what he has done to me. Do not presume to know what I should and should not do by your born-yesterday perspective. You were invited into the alliance out of common courtesy of our mutual enemy, but you will not question me on the battlefield, is that understood?"

A flash of light went off next to them and Soren reappeared, showing much concern over the turn of events as orange light from the nearby lava glimmered in the background.

"My lords, I hate to break this up, but I will not be able to keep this barrier up forever. In fact…" Soren paused as he bent down and felt for Verto's pulse. Verto's eyes snapped open to which Soren quickly jumped back in surprise. His eyes were of a normal depiction again, though his pupils had remained black. Verto pushed off the ground in frustration before making it to his feet and held his hemorrhaging limp left shoulder as he panted slightly. He glared at the trio before him, but then noticed the devastation in the area.

"What the hell happened?" Verto asked in between his panting as he glanced around.

Torev snorted slightly as he held up his stump of a hand, "You tell us." Verto stared at the injury in confusion but said nothing.

Frost's pale eyebrows rose up, "You don't remember? Is that what your deep power does, make you lose yourself completely? You monkeys can't even handle your own potential."

Torev shot a short-lived glare at Frost before refocusing on Verto, "What was that power? That was way more than you should be capable of. Hell, that was more than I'm capable of."

Verto scowled at the pair and held his right arm out as a golden aura appeared shortly before he turned Super Saiyan. While the rush of power soothed his wounds slightly, he could tell that it wasn't nearly enough to combat the two before him, not even close. Verto pulled his good arm back and charged a familiar green ball of energy into it, intent on at least making an effort.

Frost snorted at this, "Go on, get it over with. If you are not going to give us an answer, you are no longer useful in this world."

Verto's scowl deepened and he thrust his arm forward, but he didn't aim at Frost, "Final Shine!"

Soren, his true target, scrambled to get clear, but had no real chance of doing so in time due to the very close proximity. Before the blast wave hit him however, Torev jumped in front and blocked it despite his injuries. Verto gasped for breath as his hair faded to black and he lowered his arm, having put everything he had into the attack. Torev emerged, undamaged by the attack, but he had guarded himself regardless. Verto dropped to a knee as his energy left him completely, and pain had now taken over. That pain increased dramatically when Frost promptly kicked him hard in the chest. Verto was sent flying into the air but was picked off by Frost phasing out and knocking him into the ground face first. Verto lay prone, in severe pain as he felt several ribs out of place just by the couple of impacts. More blood erupted from his mouth, and he had trouble breathing. A pale hand grabbed him by the head and hair and yanked him forcibly upwards before the hand's owner wrapped his long tail around Verto's neck. Verto opened one swollen eye to see Frost glaring at him from barely a foot away.

"How does it feel, Saiyan, to be so close to death's door, knowing that no one can save you this time?" Frost asked with an evil grin.

Verto managed to gather enough strength to spit into Frost face, sending a generous mix of blood and saliva dripping down the evil lord's face. This earned him repeated body blows from Frost's fist, each more painful than the last as Verto's ribs shattered. Blood poured out of Verto's mouth and body in various places as he coughed and choked on air. Frost's expression didn't change as he tightened the hold his tail had on Verto's struggling body, specifically around his neck. Verto, out of options, opened wide and bit down on the Ice Demon's tail. He immediately regretted this when a hard, open hand slap removed his teeth, sending them flying out and opening new wounds in his mouth. Frost, angered by the bite, grabbed Verto's good hand, and casually flicked the index finger, breaking it like it was a twig. Despite all the insane pain Verto was in at this point, he still felt the break and screamed. Frost took the rest of the hand and squeezed hard, and bloodied bones popped out as Verto's hand was utterly crushed. Frost then dropped him and let him fall to the ground in a heap, and all Verto could do was go to his knees and hold his hand just above his broken torso. He attempted to speak, but could not even do that at this point, and it only came out as a raspy sound.

"Oh, does that hurt? Do you want me to end it yet? No no no, this isn't the end yet, not even close. I will keep you from dying so you experience every last minute of this. Days of suffering for every minute I spend recovering from what you did to me before, and after your latest display, you deserve much more. You will watch as I rip this planet to pieces, as I kill your friends and loved ones in front of you. When you beg for their lives, you will be answered with blood. Even when you beg for your life to end, you will continue for as long as I feel is necessary. Then, once your spirit is completely shattered, when you have nothing left, then I will kill you," Frost declared.

Torev watched this with his arms folded and couldn't help but look down on the behavior, "Oh stop the stupid threats Frost. Keeping him alive for that long is the dumbest thing you could do, and you should know that. End this horseshit, our revenge won't mean a damn thing if he just rises up and stops it because of your dumb ass torturing him over and over."

Frost snickered at this, "Oh, look who is growing a soft spot. Well, I suppose you are kindred spirits of a sort, though wasn't it you just a minute ago stopping me from ending him? Perhaps you inherited more than just his appearance."

Torev's eyebrow went up in response as he unfolded his arms, "I merely wanted to have a chance to figure him out before he dies, not prolong pointless torture. There's the method of ending a threat from an enemy, and then there's a threat of creating another by subjecting said enemy to waves of stress. What do you think happens if that absurd beast inside him stirs again? I know what I would do in his shoes, and so do you. Saiyans get stronger after every battle, and more so after suffering serious injuries. All it would take is one Senzu Bean, or one tricked sympathetic soldier that puts him in a healing tank, and he becomes a big pain in our ass again. Do I need to remind you of what that would mean?"

Frost glared back at Torev for a moment before lifting his arm and charging red energy into his finger. Verto could only stare back in defiance as the Death Beam was fired. Verto's pain abruptly ended when the kill shot went through his heart, and his eyes went blank as he fell to the ground and ceased to move.

Frost lowered his arm, "There, happy? I hope you are not this lenient when it comes to the other scum on this planet."

Torev rolled his eyes, "As long as you don't do anything else dumb, like kill them in the wrong order. They'll come for his body as soon as they realize what happened. We should deal with it so they can't find it and try to revive him."

Frost grinned slightly as he reached down and grabbed Verto by the leg before lifting off, "I can solve that puzzle."

"What are you doing?" Torev asked.

Frost smirked, "I'm making sure they can't do that." Torev scowled at this but ultimately did nothing about it. Frost promptly tossed Verto's limp body into the pool of lava, which bubbled slightly as Verto's clothes caught fire and his body sank into the pool, melting away as it did. A final puff of smoke bellowed out into the hot air above the lava pool, and nothing else came of it.

Torev shook his head, "I wanted him studied first, moron."

Frost shrugged, "Oh too bad about that, my hand slipped. And here I thought you wanted it destroyed so he couldn't rise from the dead or something. I really wish you would make up your mind." Torev growled slightly but didn't answer.

"If that is all my Lords, I believe we should regroup our forces before we are discovered. If you would both follow me, we can utilize the new regeneration pods that your commander keeps bragging about. Apparently, they can reconstruct even somebody that has been chopped to pieces, so that hand should be no trouble Lord Torev," Soren said as he conjured a red portal a short distance away.

Frost flew back and stepped through the portal without another word. Torev paused and stared at the bubbling lava pool and the ruined battlefield before following suit. Soren did the same and the portal vanished along with the barrier, restoring the natural light of the land. A few minutes later, a long, meteor-like ball of light shot through the skies and disappeared into the distance to the south. After that point, all was calm again.
