I wish I owned DBZ, but I don't. I own DVD's and tapes, but it just isn't the same. Nor do I own any legal imprinting of whatever theme I'm using, such as a crossover with another anime, movie or TV series. Did I think it up? Yes. Was I the first to think it up? Probably not, but I digress. I also don't own the rights to any of the music pieces you see selected, just the merchandise, such a shame. The artists that created them are geniuses and we all must bow to them.
Chapter 29: Return of the Renegade
Vegeta snarled as the game of cat and mouse continued between him and the Wheelo robot. He had chased the Mark Five all the way to North City before the robot suddenly turned around, fired a blast at him, and then went back the other way while Vegeta had stopped to guard himself before resuming the chase. Midway back though, Vegeta realized what was going on as he sensed multiple energy signatures across the planet, though most notable was the big one in Satan City. Within a few moments though, he no longer detected them.
That was Frost's power signal, no doubt about it, he is with Kakarot. This is a damned ploy to split us apart. They must have trapped and killed the boy and the Namekian without being detected. The robot picked up speed and they were almost back to where Seventeen and Bujin were, which Vegeta noted when saw the overly burnt land ahead.
"Enough of this crap!" he roared as his power surged.
Vegeta's golden hair lengthened down to his waste as his eyebrows disappeared, and his speed dramatically increased as he became Super Saiyan Three. Wheelo's robot turned in the air just in time to see this before a mountain shattering punch leveled it. The robot plunged into the burnt dirt, surprising both Seventeen and Bujin, who was still trapped behind the green barrier. The robot's dented head sparked as it attempted to get to its feet, while Vegeta folded his arms and scowled at it from behind. Wheelo managed to stand the robot up and turn to face Vegeta as its claw opened to fire an energy blast.
Vegeta didn't budge as he held one hand up and bent his thumb inwards, "I suggest you don't miss, robot." Wheelo fired a vivid and destructive golden energy beam that washed over Vegeta like a tidal wave and disintegrated the land below him. When the light faded, Vegeta emerged, completely unharmed.
Wheelo stumbled forward just slightly, "That's impossible! This model is just as good as the one we battled with last year!"
Vegeta's answer was a bright blue ball of energy that came out of his outstretched palm, "Big Bang Attack!" Seventeen saw this coming and leapt into the air to escape when he realized he was much too close. The attack detonated in the robot's large face and exploded, sending a mushroom cloud high up into the air as it did. When it cleared, only a few pieces of the robot's armor remained in various pieces that were strung around the battlefield. Bujin blinked sharply as the barrier around him had cracked and broken apart, essentially freeing him. He turned around and was intent to fly away but ran straight into Vegeta when he suddenly phased in front of him.
"Now now, I did not attack you, dear prince. I have information! Please let me live," Bujin begged. Vegeta folded his arms and released his Super Saiyan Three power, dropping back down to level two as his golden hair shortened back to his somewhat regular look.
"Proceed with this information cretin, and I might let you off with a warning," Vegeta growled.
Bujin was taken aback, "Seriously?"
Vegeta snorted lightly, "If you don't talk, then there will be more of that pathetic robot remaining than you in ten seconds. Nine, eight…"
Bujin panicked and held his hands up peacefully, "Okay! As you may have noticed, Lord Frost has arrived, and we allied ourselves with Doctor Wheelo and Lord Torev. We have an armada on its way! They'll be here very soon, with enough fire power to blow away this planet if you do not leave or surrender! Lord Frost is generous and will allow you, Vegeta, the chance to leave with your wife and son. The same cannot be said for Son Goku or his son, which Lord Frost is attending to personally at the moment."
Seventeen stepped over next to Vegeta, "What about the rest of the Earth?"
Bujin grinned, "This planet now belongs to Lord Frost. The humans will be allowed to live on as loyal subjects in his empire."
Seventeen scowled, "We won't let you take over. On this planet we believe in freedom, and we will fight to keep it!"
Bujin chuckled, "Your resistance is admirable, but folly. Lord Frost possesses the greatest fighting power in the universe, and Lord Torev is very powerful himself. When joined with our vast alliance and resources, there are none that can stop them! Your attempts to disobey will only lead to your lives ending." Seventeen's fists shook slightly as he stepped forward, but Vegeta stopped him from acting.
"One more thing, and I suggest you answer this one truthfully. What happened to the boy and the Namekian?" Vegeta asked.
Bujin's grin didn't subside, "I'm sure you, great prince, can figure that one out. The boy and the Namekian resisted, and now they no longer can."
Vegeta closed his eyes momentarily, "When your allies join you in Hell, you can be the one to say I told you so."
Bujin's eyes widened in fear, "You said if I talked, you'd let me go."
Vegeta's eyes opened with raw fury, "I said I might."
Bujin panicked and took off into the air, scurrying to get away. Bujin didn't get far before a large golden blast crashed into him from behind and completely wiped him out. There wasn't even smoke left when the blast cleared, never mind debris from what was Bujin's body.
Seventeen watched his happen before looking to the south, "There is something happening in West City, but I don't recognize any power signatures there. Should I go, or should we follow the contingency?"
Vegeta directed his attention to the east, where Frost and Goku were but at this point still could not detect what was happening. Another power spike however came from Master Roshi's island, and he recognized his son's power fighting against something much stronger. Without another word, Vegeta blasted off into the air again, leaving Seventeen covered in dust from the abrupt departure.
Seventeen sighed, "Contingency it is."
Laysh continued to search the ruins of Capsule Corp for any signs of what happened, but the only thing that was clear was that the facility was utterly wiped off the map. There was a sizable opening that seemed to lead to a large underground cavern, but she elected not to jump down to investigate.
Perhaps they had a ship stashed away. I seem to recall the prince's mate saying something about that. Laysh then stood up, closed her eyes, and concentrated, picking up multiple strong powers all over the planet. Most, if not all of them were Ki-based energies, and while noteworthy, they were not what she was searching for. She managed to recognize Gohan on the far side of the planet, and there were several dense energy signatures that represented mixed signals all over the place. She definitely noticed Vegeta's power signature to the northeast, which appeared to be moving at a high rate of speed towards another position to the north. She also had no trouble detecting Frost, who at the moment was the highest one she could measure despite being nowhere near her position, but it just as quickly disappeared.
Laysh frowned, "Damn. Kid, where are you?"
"Where is who?" a gruff voice asked. Laysh's blue eyes shot open and darted to the side. She had been so engrossed in picking up power signals that she had ignored the large one closing in on her, along with dozens of alien soldiers. The newcomer was red with a brown goatee and a matching mullet; along with the Frieza Force armor. He was joined by several other weak soldiers, all of which point their weapons at Laysh.
"So, another Saiyan, and a female at that, but not from here. There are no known female Saiyans left on this planet. You're a long way from home aren't you, Renegade?" the red soldier said. Laysh smirked lightly as her blue aura swirled to life around her, which began to give off a few very small light bursts, like twinkling stars.
"What of it? At worst that makes me as much of a trespasser as you," Laysh pointed out, "Now who do I have the pleasure of speaking to?"
The red man's skin glowed slightly, and small flames erupted around his feet, "I am Lavare."
Laysh's smirk disappeared, "Lavare, of the Kihon Corps?"
Lavare nodded, "That is correct. I take it you have heard of us?"
Laysh's aura expanded quite abruptly as she crossed her arms and clenched her fists, "Enough to know that there is no need for me to hold back on you! Shinsei-Toukan!"
Laysh spread her arms suddenly and released the frigid burst of cold that washed over all of the soldiers in an instant. Ice covered them all quickly, with most of the soldiers freezing in place and becoming giant blocks of ice. Laysh grinned and charged her hand with blue energy before channeling it into an intense beam of cold energy. The beam cut through the first several enemy ice blocks, reducing the soldiers to nothing more than a pile of colorful ice cubes as they shattered apart. Laysh kept channeling the beam as she turned, hitting and instantly breaking each ice block soldier apart with her cold Psionic energy. She paused when she got to Lavare, holding back enough to increase the power before firing at him. As it struck however, the ice block began melting from the inside and Laysh could see red heat being emitted from Lavare's body. The ice melted clean off even as Laysh's beam continued to strike Lavare's armor, but there was no physical change. Lavare himself was smirking deeply as his hand glowed bright red and he moved it right into Laysh's beam. His own red and yellow beam then pushed back against Laysh's, producing a clash of energy that oddly enough began to drip water all over the ground. Laysh was slightly taken aback by this as the energy clash between hot and cold rushed back towards her quite quickly, filling the air with heat as it did.
Lavare chuckled, "Maybe against most opponents your ice techniques are effective, however I am not one of them. Not only that, my brother Blizzare has very similar abilities that I have become adept at countering. Even if your power is greater than mine, your ice techniques will not be able to kill me!"
Once the beam struggle was within a few inches of her hands, Laysh scowled deeply, "I don't have time for this shit!" She promptly raised her power which sent her icy beam and the collision flying back at Lavare in a heartbeat. Lavare was unable to respond to the fast counter, and his body quickly glazed over with ice, which grew around his body into a network of thick icicles that arced outwards slightly. Laysh stopped channeling and stood back straight as the air cooled back down, watching the block of ice intently. Within a few seconds, it once again turned red and orange beneath the ice, and rapidly melted off. Lavare's head and neck were free within moments as his skin continued to glow, which increased the amount of heat he was giving off. On his head this was steam, but on his body, it was mostly moisture, which continued as the ice block melted and soon, he was standing in a sizable pond of water.
Lavare's smirk held, "I really despise being wet, but that is the tradeoff I suppose. Like I said, even if you are stronger, my power counters yours. You'll find defeating me in a conventional way will take quite a bit of effort as well. You'd have to destroy my body's core to beat me, and it is pure magma, which means I can also channel any amount of heat that I need and put an end to any ice that you are able to generate. So, whether you have time for it or not, it doesn't appear that you'll be able to defeat me all that quickly." Laysh's blue eyebrow rose up for a moment as she knelt down and placed her hand into the trailing puddle of water.
She then looked up at Lavare and grinned evilly, "Well it's a good thing I have more than one ability to fight you with."
Lavare confidently folded his arms as Laysh's hand glowed with white energy, "More ice is not going to help you, woman."
Laysh laughed, "Who said anything about ice? Raiko!" Laysh's energy turned into vivid electric streams of lightning, which raced through the water and right into Lavare's body as he was still standing in the puddle. As a result, his body convulsed violently as the lightning covered his still wet skin and armor before he simply fell over, completely unconscious. Laysh rose back up and straightened her gloves before firing another cold beam into the puddle, which helped to wash over Lavare and encase him in ice again.
"That should hold him. Now then, where to go?" she asked. She closed her eyes again and searched for the powerful energy signals again. Gohan had moved and was approaching where she had detected Frost, but there were also two very strong power signals in the area, and she didn't recognize either of them.
Damn, I won't get there in time for whatever is going on over there. Where's the prince? Laysh quickly detected him again, still flying fast but now towards another powerful clash of powers, one of which she knew to be Trunks.
"That'll do!" Laysh declared as her blue aura came to life and she took off into the skies. Within a few minutes of her being gone, the ice block covering Lavare began to melt again.
Back at Master Roshi's Island, Goten and Trunks were on the beach, covered in bruises and barely staying in the fight with Captain Miruk, who hovered overhead. Krillin had opted to stay out for the moment but he was ready to jump back in despite knowing that he had no chance against the soldier. Thus far, most of the fight had been Miruk knocking the two half-Saiyans out of the air and into the beach or the water over and over, which did create several small craters.
"What do we do Trunks? If we can't use Fusion, then we probably can't win!" Goten claimed.
Trunks scowled as he stood back up, "We don't have to win, we just have to last long enough for one of our dads or Gohan to get back."
Goten nodded, "So, we run away like tag?" Trunks was about to answer when Miruk suddenly landed before them and scattered the sand, startling them both. Without looking, he turned and fired a blast that blew the top of Kame House clean off, leaving nothing but splintered boards above the level of the door.
"If you run like cowards, you might be able to get away. But I will execute every single person here, and I will take my time doing it, starting with your families. So, make your decision, Saiyans," Miruk warned.
Trunks' face scrunched up in anger as his aura increased, "Leave my mom out of this!"
Miruk backed off a step as he folded his arms, "Then fight me like you mean it!" Miruk was suddenly struck in the back of the head by a hard and round object, making him flinch slightly as it glanced off of him and landed in the sand. He turned to see Master Roshi standing there with his cane.
"Master Roshi, what are you doing?" Krillin cried out.
"Listen here, this is my island, and you are wrecking my home. So, you had better leave if you know what is good for ya!" Roshi warned.
Miruk was irritated at the intrusion, "Old Man, you had best go back to your nap if you know what is good for you. Your power is pathetically low, and I do not wish to soil my hands eliminating a feeble elder."
Roshi grinned as he threw his cane aside before tossing a capsule to Krillin, "This old man still has a few tricks up his sleeve. Here Krillin, handle this would you?" Krillin caught the capsule and tossed it on the ground, revealing a medium sized sugar jar inside. Krillin turned his head slightly in confusion, as did virtually everyone else.
"A jar? What is that for?" Trunks asked.
Roshi extended his arms outwards as he released a very vivid green energy, "Evil Containment!" Miruk, who was not even ten feet away from Roshi, was enveloped by the technique immediately, and could only gasp in shock as he was pulled into the green whirlwind that it created.
"What?! What is this?!" Miruk cried out. By this point, Krillin had positioned the jar and held it up, giving Roshi a very easy target as he turned his hands. Miruk's body seemed to condense into a bright green energy ball before it was flung towards the waiting jar. Krillin adjusted the jar and caught the energy as cleanly as he could, which took in all of Miruk and the containment wave within seconds. Roshi panted hard as he completed the technique, and Krillin set the jar down before slapping the lid back on.
"Wow, that was awesome!" Goten shouted.
Trunks was equally elated, "Yeah, where were you hiding that trick? I wanna learn it!"
Roshi chuckled as he continued to catch his breath, "It's a dangerous technique boys, but very effective."
Krillin nodded at this, "Now all we need is the magic seal to tie it with. Master, where is it?"
Roshi's glasses fell off in surprise, "Oh, shoot. I knew I was forgetting something, I forgot to whip one up!" Krillin's jaw dropped slightly before the jar started to shake rather violently. He was barely able to put a hand on the lid before the jar shattered apart.
Miruk shot into the air, huffing and puffing as he stared at his hands in terror, "What was that?!"
Krillin darted over to Roshi, "Are you alright Master?"
Roshi adjusted his glasses, "Well that wasn't good. We're in a pickle, aren't we?" Above, Miruk was still trying to comprehend what had just happened to him, but it was no less distressing that he was that close to being sealed inside a jar. Anger bellowed up and a powerful lavender shaded aura erupted out of him, causing the water to disperse away from the island.
Trunks quickly lined up with Goten and raised his arms, "Now Goten!"
"Fu…" Miruk glanced down and saw this happening and quickly flew towards them.
"Sion…." Trunks and Goten had just made the last turn before extending their fingers when Miruk crashed in between them to disrupt the dance. He swatted Goten aside before grabbing Trunks up by the scruff of his shirt. Miruk punched Trunks hard in the face, which forced him down as his shirt ripped off in Miruk's hands. Trunks landed in the sand and painfully attempted to sit back up. He was unable to react in time when Miruk boot kicked him hard enough to send him skipping along the ocean water before he finally sank nearly a hundred meters out. Miruk watched and turned as Krillin raced in to attack him, but his fist was caught just inches away from Miruk's face.
"Poor choice, midget," Miruk said.
An instant later, Krillin was sent flying into the side of Kame House, breaking through and landing in what was left of the living room. A battle cry alerted Miruk to Goten's position as he was flying in with a kick. Miruk easily caught the half-Saiyan out of the air by the leg before swinging Goten's much smaller body into the ground hard. Spit flew out of Goten's mouth as his hair turned black, and Miruk then planted a hard knee into his chin. Goten stopped flailing as he fell unconscious, and Miruk tossed him aside for the moment. A loud eruption of wind and energy drew his gaze as the ocean water suddenly split apart. A child's loud cry could be heard as storm clouds quickly gathered and shot lightning bolts around him. Trunks flew up out of the water as his golden hair defied gravity further and he transformed to Super Saiyan Two. His head was covered in blood, but his energy helped block some of the pain as he angrily set his sights on Miruk.
The blue alien grinned, "That's more like it, you brat. Let's see what you've got!"
Trunks raced in and attacked, punching towards Miruk's face. Miruk deflected the blow fairly easily, knocking Trunks aside with a backhand. Trunks quickly recovered and kicked Miruk in the side. Miruk stepped through the blow and glided away, but Trunks quickly gave chase. The two clashed in the air over the water with a barrage of punches and kicks coming from Trunks, most of which Miruk was able to block or dodge. Once he saw an opening, Miruk buried his knee into Trunks' stomach, stopping the attack cold. Miruk didn't bother waiting and fired a point-blank blast into Trunks, sending him flying back into Kame House. He landed next to Krillin and completely fell out of Super Saiyan as he passed out, his body bloody and smoking.
"Clearly you are not used to that type of power yet, Saiyan, otherwise you would have used it from the start. Perhaps if you had a little more battle experience, you could have one day defeated me. But you lack both the power and technique to do so," Miruk boasted as he hovered over the broken pink house.
He aimed his palm at the house and charged a bright ball of energy, intent on killing both Trunks and Krillin with it. Just as he was about to fire, a flash of gold smashed into him from out of nowhere. It was fast enough that his scouter didn't indicate the warning until he had already been forced backwards. Miruk was angry at first, until he saw who had just arrived, and his face filled with surprised fear as Vegeta laid his Super Saiyan eyes upon him. Miruk's scouter continued to flash warnings about Vegeta's power level, though Miruk didn't need them to know that a very different level of foe had just arrived. Vegeta glanced down at the battered and broken figures strung around the island, of which only Master Roshi was even conscious. He was able to sense that his wife was inside the ship with a few others, and that no one below was in a critical state, but that did not diminish his rage in the slightest.
"Saiyan Prince Vegeta, so nice of you to join us here," Miruk said, attempting to be casual. Miruk promptly doubled over in pain as Vegeta's fist suddenly arrived in his stomach, and he fell forward enough that Vegeta caught and held him up by just his forearm.
"The one with the purple hair... is my son," Vegeta said in a frighteningly calm voice.
Miruk's eyes widened as he turned his head slightly in realization. Vegeta then pulled his arm back to release Miruk, before smashing his back with a harsh kick, cracking his armor. Vegeta didn't bother waiting to see where Miruk would land and phased out, hitting him again with a hard, double axe-handle strike. Miruk plunged into the water and remained there for several moments while Vegeta folded his arms and waited overhead. The others below slowly recovered as this happened, which Eighteen and Bulma ran out of the ship with a bag of Senzu Beans. Eighteen first fed one to Goten before she joined Bulma in pushing through the debris to get to Trunks and Krillin.
"Oh Trunks, please be okay honey!" Bulma pleaded as she slid a bean into his mouth and held his head up so he could receive it. After a moment he was able to chew it and she breathed a sigh of relief. Trunks sat up as his body healed, as did Krillin once Eighteen had given him the same treatment.
"Geez, that Ginyu look-alike sure packed a wallop," Krillin said as his wounds disappeared.
"Ginyu? As in the private army of Frieza? As in the one that turned into a frog?" Bulma asked.
Krillin nodded, "That would be the one, and really he didn't turn into a frog, he just accidentally ended up in one. That isn't him but he looks just like the old Ginyu."
Bulma looked a bit freaked out by this prospect before she glared up at her husband, "Wipe that guy out Vegeta!"
Everyone blinked sharply at her, even Vegeta before he refocused on the task. Miruk came roaring out of the water with yellow Ki blasts charged and ready. Vegeta didn't even wait for him to stop moving before phasing out and landing a fierce uppercut to Miruk's jaw, breaking it on impact. Miruk's jaw slipped open painfully as blood poured out of his mouth, but teeth flew out on the next impact that found Miruk's stomach again. Vegeta didn't let him fall though and grabbed what was left of his armor to hold him up to eye level.
"Now then cretin, use that scouter and tell your lord that he has made a grave mistake coming to this planet and that I will personally make him pay for it!" Vegeta bellowed.
Miruk was nearly lifeless from the hard shots he had taken but was able to weakly turn his head before grinning, "I t-think you'll be able to tell him yourself! Change!" A burst of gold erupted from Miruk's body, but there was nothing holding him once Vegeta phased out. Miruk stopped his technique just as another kick blasted him in the back of the head, shattering the scouter upon impact. Miruk tumbled and hit the side of the beach opposite the ship and lay prone on his stomach for the moment. Vegeta didn't let up and landed hard on the back of Miruk's leg, which then turned unnaturally.
Miruk painfully grunted as he tried to at least crawl away, "Damn you Vegeta!"
Vegeta finally let off Miruk's broken leg and allowed the villain to move away, "Coming here is a death sentence for you and your allies! And relying on that body stealing technique was the worst decision you've made thus far. If you think this is bad now, know that I am capable of much more power than this." A tiny tug at Vegeta's boot drew his attention to a green frog that had hopped on it, and suddenly Vegeta had an idea.
Miruk struggled to get to his feet before he turned around and spread his arms, "That is good to know. I can't wait to try it out myself! Change!" Vegeta grinned as he simply held the frog up, directly into the path of the golden beam coming his way from Miruk. A bright explosion of light followed, blinding everyone. When it cleared, Vegeta was still holding the same frog, which was now struggling to get free from his grasp. Miruk's blue body dropped down to all fours, though one leg in particular was lame and crooked. It began to hop and croak like a frog as it jumped into the water, trying unsuccessfully to shake off the pain of its broken hind leg. Vegeta held Miruk, now inside the actual frog, up for a moment before throwing it into the air. A bright wave of gold Ki chased it, and the frog's body evaporated easily.
Vegeta folded his arms in slight disappointment, "Hmph, pathetic."
Trunks was first to run out of the remains of Kame House, "Dad that was awesome! You're awesome!"
Goten was quick to join him, "Yeah, uncle Vegeta to the rescue!" Vegeta glared at them both for a moment before powering down, allowing his hair to fade to black.
"Hey! Where's Goku?" a voice called out. The group looked up to see Videl carrying Chichi in by flight, both looking very worried.
"Well he's not here. He took off when he detected something happening at Fortuneteller Baba's place," Bulma explained.
Krillin was quick to interject, "I last sensed him around Satan City, fighting, whoa, who is that?"
Trunks and Goten picked up on it as well as the former spoke, "Is that Frost dad? It feels like he's fighting Gohan!"
Vegeta closed his eyes as he detected the signal, "No, that isn't him, but he is likely nearby. Bulma, is the ship able to fly yet?"
Bulma frowned, "It was damaged by Kochin's robot, but I have fixed the computer core and the power systems. I'm just waiting for the software to reload now, probably another hour."
Vegeta folded his arms in thought, "Alright then, get it fixed as soon as possible. No one leaves the island unless we absolutely have to. We'll wait for the android, Gohan and Kakarot to return. If they are not back within the hour, we go without them."
"What?!" Chichi practically screamed.
Goten looked ready to lodge a protest, "If my dad and brother are fighting, we should help them!"
Vegeta growled, "No!"
Bulma stared at Vegeta, "Vegeta, what do you mean? Go where?"
Vegeta softly stared at his wife, "You'll know as soon as the ship's systems are operational again. Frost is here and has teamed up with Cash and the boy's counterpart, not to mention other allies they might have. They will want us to attempt to counter-attack because they have the advantage. They were able to take out the boy and the Namekian without us even knowing it."
Bulma's faced paled along with everyone else, "Verto's… dead?"
Videl teared up immediately, "He can't be!" Trunks immediately set about searching for his adoptive brother's power signal but could sense nothing that registered as his. He did detect a similar presence to the north, but he already knew who that was given the last few days.
Vegeta nodded grimly, "As is Piccolo most likely. We'll join them if we're not careful. I killed one of his minions already, that one claimed there is a fleet of ships coming that have more than enough fire power to destroy the planet if we don't surrender or leave. It's what Frost would do when he conquered planets back in the old days, he made sure there were backup plans to every mission. He would send in advanced troops to divide and conquer the planet's defenders, and then once his fleet was in position, they would either surrender or perish. He is not as sloppy as Frieza or even the Saiyans when it comes to genocide."
Bulma grimaced, "So your plan is to run away?! We have to beat these bastards!"
Vegeta scowled, "Strategic retreat, woman. Alone, we could defeat any one of them, but together they will be a problem. Right now, we are vulnerable, and most people of this planet are welcoming their new liberators. Even if we go into hiding, they will act as spies to help find us."
Krillin looked puzzled, "I don't get it. If Frost just wants to kill us all, he could just blow up the planet and be done with it."
Bulma nodded, "It's obvious that he wants something here, not just to kill. Maybe the people, maybe Flandal's technology. Maybe even the cyborgs that have been transformed to be in his army. Or the Dragon Balls."
"Yeah, that blue goon said that they were only targeting Saiyans," Trunks added. A distinct rumble of the surface and powerful energy signature drew their attention to the north and east.
"What's happening?" Videl asked. Everyone who then could sense energy then picked up Frost and Goku again, but there was vaguely familiar power signal that went with it.
Vegeta's eyes widened when he recognized it, "What?! How?!"
On the outskirts of Satan City, the giant red dome could easily be seen from miles away. It pulsed with energy as it did its intended purpose, keeping people trapped inside and more importantly, keeping others out. The people below were half gathering out of curiosity and half slight panic. None of them knew what had happened inside thus far, and until the barrier came down, they had no hope of knowing. Above them, a pair of figures floated, half observing and half waiting for something else. One of them was male and physically about sixteen to seventeen years old. His black hair stood up on end and he wore matching black battle jacket armor with yellow accents but no pads. His bodysuit was also black, but sleeves were cut off at the knees and elbows and he wore no gloves. The girl next to him appeared to be slightly older and taller by almost half a foot with lavender-purple hair. Her skin at the moment was pale, and she wore a black and very tight leotard that barely left anything to imagination with her generous bust line. She also now had a red sash that loosely hung down past her hips.
"This is really boring," Torev remarked as he folded his arms, silently hoping that the barrier would come down.
Kaon wrapped her arm around his chest from behind, "Oh come now Lover, you know this is the plan. Wheelo got Vegeta, Frost got Goku, and we get Gohan. And let's be honest, we got the more exciting draw of the batch."
Torev was not convinced, "No, we got the task of making sure Gohan doesn't help his father, which Soren took care of on his own. I could beat any one of them on my own in a one on one fight."
Kaon giggled slightly, "Maybe, but until you prove that, you won't convince Lord Frost of anything. I've had to endure him for the last year, and technically longer than that if you think about it. Only results convince him."
Torev grimaced, "Oh please, I beat the goody-two-shoes by myself before he even got here."
Kaon's cheerful face faded, "By yourself? C'mon Lover, it's just us here. You can admit that you needed my help, at least to me. I'll make it worth your while when we share a bed later and help you with something else." Torev's breath caught for a moment as she had bent down to whisper the last portion into his ear and his body gave a noticeable shiver.
Kaon grinned, "Oh, look who likes that idea."
Torev paused for a moment before giving off a grin, "Fine. I do need your help here and there. But I am curious why that is, I should have gotten at least half the potential or more, right? And I'm not the one who fainted a few hours ago when he unleashed that insane power he had. What was that anyway?"
Kaon batted her eyes slightly as she dodged the question, "We can talk about that later lover. Let's not focus on the past, you need to focus on the fight ahead."
"Fine, but at least answer this. It can't be because…" Torev paused and snapped to attention when they both detected a strong presence quickly approaching. Torev's eyes focused on the orange gi and blue undershirt of Gohan before he actually stopped to allow eye contact. Gohan's eyes widened as he did a double take at the pair.
"Lenz? Verto?" Gohan asked before he caught himself.
"Kaon, Torev. You just saw us the other night, did you not? Please keep the names straight even if the resemblance is dead on. I know it's hard if you're related to Goku," Kaon joked.
Gohan frowned, "Fine, what are you doing here? Where's my dad?"
Torev smirked and cocked his thumb in the direction of the huge red barrier, "Over there. You already know how fun it is to get through one of those barriers. Although, if I'm being fair, if there is anyone who can do it, I bet it's you." Gohan's face switched to pure determination as he began to power up ever so slightly. Torev responded by doing the same, quickly bringing out his purple Chi to challenge Gohan's strong presence as his eyes turned red.
"Unfortunately for you, we have unfinished business that is a few years overdue. I already took care of my annoying look-alike, now it's your turn," Torev boasted.
Gohan stared back in disbelief, "Verto is dead?"
Torev chuckled, "Don't act so surprised, he's gotten so weak that a kitten could have killed him. Being put out of his misery is the best thing for him! And man did he cry when the green-man went down."
Gohan's balled fists curled up even tighter as they shook, "Piccolo too?"
Torev didn't stop the taunting, "Yes, your actual dad bit the dust too, but I can't take credit for that one."
Kaon gave Torev a distinct nudge and whispered in his ear, "Hey, don't embellish, you've already gotten his full attention."
This became obvious when Gohan's body tensed just before a silver aura erupted around him as his eyes turned blue. As soon as Gohan completed the Super Mystic transformation, he phased out. Torev promptly pulled Kaon aside and fired a blast right into where Gohan phased in, making contact and exploding. The smoke cleared and showed that Gohan was able to guard himself, but the timing was close. Gohan lowered his arms, and in doing so was nailed in the face by Torev's fist at full force. Gohan flew backwards out of control and plowed into the top of a parking ramp, completely destroying the only car that was parked there. Gohan took a moment to recover as he lay in the flattened metal, with a distinct bruise forming on the side of his mouth. Torev pulled his arm back and charged a vividly pulsing ball of purple energy that he then threw at Gohan. Gohan phased out just as it would have hit, causing it to explode and decimate the top three floors of the parking ramp. Gohan reappeared and had his arms drawn back as he began charging a green Kamehameha.
Torev smirked as he sensed the amount of power going into it, "Hey babe, might want to give us some space." Kaon nodded and glided downward to stand on a nearby rooftop. Gohan finished charging the blast and paused, which Torev made note of and made no obvious movement to avoid or counter.
Gohan then phased out and arrived next to Torev as he fired, "HA!" Torev phased out just as the great green blast blew right through his position and roared like a massive train all the way into the giant red barrier, where it exploded on contact. Multiple building rooftops crumbled in the wake of the blast, sending any bystanders scrambling away as debris fell to the streets. Gohan gasped as he saw the result of the blast and flew in to try and help. Before he could get there, Torev suddenly phased in and smacked Gohan aside with a palm strike, sending Gohan barreling into an office building. Torev eyed the remnants of the explosion of the barrier but saw nothing changed once it cleared. Gohan slowly pulled himself out of the building and flew out, brushing off some of the glass that was stuck to his gi.
Torev folded his arms and smirked, "You rely on Instant Transmission too much. Don't think I've forgotten how you used that against me last time!"
Gohan spit a small amount of blood from his mouth before lowering into his stance, "Fine, I guess I'll have to try something different."
Torev's purple aura emerged, "You'll need more than that!"
The two flew at each other and punched forward at the same time, fists meeting each other in the process. The resulting shockwave shook the city and shattered nearby windows as bystanders ran for cover. Gohan pressed the assault and attacked with a flurry of fists aimed at Torev's head but was unable to connect as Torev dodged each one, smirking as he did. The moment Gohan stopped, Torev counterattacked, but he was met with similar results from Gohan. The stalemate continued afterwards as they began to throw more attacks at the same time and subsequently stopped blocking them. Gohan hit Torev in the face first from the right, only to be countered by Torev's foot to his chest from the left. Gohan winced as he spun around and landed a painful blow to Torev's right side. Torev cringed painfully before grabbing Gohan's leg and dropping an elbow into his shin. Gohan responded by flipping around and flying hard into Torev, tackling him out of the air and onto a rooftop nearby.
The shoulder blow and following rough landing made Torev cough up a trace of blood, but he was able to kick Gohan off of him, and then phased out and smashed Gohan from behind with both arms, sending him barreling into the rooftop and forming an initial impact crater. Torev powered up a strong punch and raced down to deliver the blow, missing at the very last second when Gohan phased out, and hitting the center of the crater. Cracks rapidly formed in the building and raced to the ground as the rest of the glass shattered and then the floors collapsed. Within seconds, the entire building tumbled to the ground as if it had been detonated by a professional construction team. Torev hovered as the dust from the collapse spread out over the streets, rubbing off the blood that had come out of his mouth. Gohan also hovered nearby and observed this, catching his breath slightly.
Kaon watched the pair with a concerned frown, Well that's not great. Gohan is a little stronger than I remember him being. And here I thought he was the pacifist. Torev scowled as he starred down Gohan, who then held out his hand and began channeling a blue, shimmering ball of energy. Torev's eyes narrowed when he didn't sense much energy being devoted to it, an attack that would have barely harmed a fly by comparison to his huge Super Kamehameha.
Gohan closed his eyes for a moment to concentrate before laying his eyes on Torev and throwing the ball, "Spirit Bomb!" Torev's eyes widened as he quickly charged and aimed a counterattack to nullify the blue ball sailing towards him. His purple energy raced out and collided with the mini-spirit bomb easily, and Torev grinned as if he was successful. When he glanced up at Gohan though, the half-Saiyan was gone.
"Spirit Bomb!" Gohan shouted as he hit Torev from behind with the same technique. The effect was immediate as blue and white lightning covered Torev and completely ended his channeled beam. The initial Spirit Bomb also struck him, intensifying the effect as he lost control of his flight and tumbled to the ground.
Kaon panicked as she realized what happened, "No!" Gohan also lowered to the ground and landed next to Torev, who was convulsing violently under the intense feedback effect that his energy was making worse.
"You know, your dark thoughts and actions will just make it worse. Give up now!" Gohan warned. Kaon's skin began to shift to blue in anger and she moved to intercede but stopped when Torev grunted and managed to turn his body. The lightning around him eased slightly as he managed to stand up, but far from easily. Torev closed his eyes and clenched up his fists as his aura struggled to come to life under the strain. Within a few moments though, his power forced the spirit bomb energy off of him as it went straight up into the air and disappeared.
Torev gasped for breath but managed to smirk, "I've had time to figure that technique out. That wasn't quite the same version, but it figures he would teach it to you since he can no longer use it." Gohan frowned in dismay as he lowered back into his stance, matching Torev a moment later. A distinct flash of light went off next to them, and Soren appeared, holding his arms together inside his robe.
"I apologize for interrupting Lord Torev, but we have a situation," Soren said solemnly.
Torev glared at him, "I'm busy."
Gohan eyed Soren, "A situation? What is that supposed to mean, you're creating the situation!"
Soren frowned at them both, "A potentially worse situation has unfolded." He snapped his fingers and behind him, the giant red barrier dome faded away. Gohan's eyes widened as he could now detect both Frost and Goku again. The other power he sensed was one that he hadn't detected in a long time, and he blasted off towards it before anyone else could react.
Torev had a similar look of surprise, "Is that who I think it is?"
Soren nodded grimly, "It is, I am glad you realize the danger. Lord Frost doesn't, and he acted exactly as you warned him not to."
Torev scowled as his aura shot up and he also took off into the air, "That fucking idiot! I told him not to kill that fool!"
Goku screamed in anger as his power built and his golden hair grew out, wiping away the smashed stadium video screen and most of the bleachers around it.
Frost grinned as Goku took on his Super Saiyan Three power, "That's it Goku, let's see this ultimate power of yours before I bury it, and you!"
Goku's power topped out as lightning arced off of him and stabbed into the ground, cutting it in random directions around him. Goku himself instantly teleported, hitting Frost in the head with a punch that put him into the ground. Goku grabbed Frost by the tail and swung him around briefly before letting go and sending him into the previously unbroken part of the stadium. Just as Frost hit and was imbedded into it, Goku followed at incredible speed and delivered a punch to Frost that destroyed the seats and space underneath it. Frost went down with the rubble and remained buried within it as Goku glided backwards with his arms drawn back.
"Ka…me….ha….me…" Goku chanted as his palms filled with blue.
Nearby, Blizzare moved to intercede, but was held back by his brother Metare, "Stay out of this one brother. Lord Frost's orders." Goku strained as he built as much power as he could into his attack and then saw the rubble starting to shift.
"HA!"
Goku fired the massive Super Kamehameha that roared towards Frost's position. Seconds before it arrived, the rubble exploded outwards as Frost stood up, and his body was in the process of expanding slightly as his natural armor thickened. Frost's facemask covered his clenched teeth just as the giant beam arrived, and he held one hand up. A distinct sound of impact sounded before the explosion that followed. The rubble pile and Frost vanished in the great light as it continued past him and smashed into the barrier. The entire first base side of the stadium was next to vanish, barely missing the body of Mister Satan and the metallicized Buu. In the home team dugout that flanked the third base side, Tien finally managed to wake up due to the incredible blast that had detonated. He was slow to move and outright stopped, opting instead to stay down as he carefully eyed the two soldiers standing before him, and Goku out in the field. Tien then closed his two of his eyes but kept the third eye open to observe what was happening. In the outfield, Goku panted slightly as he lowered his arms, watching the smoke and dust billow out from what was half of the stadium. When it cleared, Frost emerged with his hand cast out, which was quite burnt and bruised. His armor had taken a hit and his mask had fallen off, but he didn't appear to be that hurt despite the scale of the attack.
Frost's red eyes glowed slightly as he grinned, "Very impressive, Saiyan. I imagine we would not be speaking now if you had used that kind of power against me last time. Unfortunately for you…" Frost instantly phased out and reappeared as he punched Goku hard in the stomach, sending the Super Saiyan tumbling across the ground.
"…It is all in vain!" Frost announced. Goku kipped up and used his hand to dig into the dirt and slow his momentum as his feet also dug into the ground. Just as he stopped, Frost rushed in with his fist pulled back. Goku cringed but phased out, causing Frost to demolish the rest of the outer wall. Frost turned his head as he saw Goku assume his stance in the small area of right field that was still covered in grass. Frost then stood up straight before phasing out. Goku vanished just as Frost reappeared behind him, and this became a rapid series of blurred motion all around the stadium as the two phased in and out with instant transmission. Anyone watching soon lost track of both strong warriors, only getting a glimpse when either one would appear long enough to disturb the dirt.
Tien's third eye frowned slightly upon seeing this, Goku's power is dropping. Using Instant Transmission that much at Super Saiyan Three will drain his energy until he is too weakened to fight Frost. I've got to help somehow, but my power won't make much of an impact. Tien's eye then looked to his right, and saw Buu still standing in place, covered in metal. He then glanced at Metare; whose arms were folded as he watched the display of speed.
Buu was trapped by that guy's power, if I can find a way to disrupt it, Buu will be able to help us. The question is how? Tien thought as he considered his options.
In the field, Goku finally stopped using Instant Transmission and landed on the ground, immediately having to guard himself when Frost phased in and aimed a punch at his throat. Frost then grabbed Goku by the arm and before Goku could react, flung him into the ground, creating in impact crater. Goku spun off the ground and kicked Frost's leg out from under him, causing him to fall backwards in surprise. Goku reached his feet and punched at Frost, who phased out and reappeared behind Goku, landing a sharp kick that sent Goku bouncing off the ground several times. On the last bounce, Goku rebounded off the ground and fired a generous spray of golden Ki blasts at Frost that looked like a small but intense hailstorm. Frost guarded himself as the barrage began to strike him and kick up dust and dirt all around him. Goku kept up the pressure for several more seconds before stopping and holding his arm up to charge a dense but bright and pulsing ball of energy in his right hand. He charged in just as Frost swung his arm out to clear the dust, and Goku thrust the energy attack forward in hopes for a decisive blow. That hope ended when Frost caught the attack with one hand easily, ending Goku's movement. With his other hand, Frost quickly aimed and fired a dense red blast right into Goku's body, causing him to scream before he was visually lost in its light. Goku sailed up several dozen meters before Frost jumped at the chance and phased out.
He reappeared just above Goku and drew both arms up to strike, "It ends now!"
Frost hammered Goku back to the ground, in which he hit with a sickening thud that erased all the smaller craters around them and formed a larger one. When the dust cleared, it showed that Goku had fallen completely out of Super Saiyan entirely and lay prone, his uniform ripped to pieces and his body bleeding in several areas. Frost grinned evilly as he lowered to the ground slowly, curbing some of his eagerness to finish it.
"Well done, my lord!" Blizzare called out. The dugout behind him suddenly burst with activity as Tien stood and powered up, surprising both Blizzare and Metare.
"Oh, look who is still alive," Metare said with all confidence.
Tien's hands spread as he held them around his face, "It isn't that easy to kill me! Solar Flare!"
The bright light instantly blinded both Blizzare and Metare as they were quite close when it was emitted. Frost himself was able to shield his eyes partially, but made no motion to interfere. Tien leapt out of the dugout area and landed near the left field line, which was just about the only part of the baseball field that was still untouched.
He landed as his aura fired up around him, holding his hands out as he charged them with energy, "Ki-ko-ho!" Tien's powerful energy rushed out of his hands and rammed into the two brothers, sending them flying backwards into the metal statue of Buu and the through the remaining metal fencing, breaking the rest of it. Buu's metal frame fell over from the impact, and the odd appendage on top of his head broke off. Metare recovered first, angry at the sudden impact of the Tri-beam attack and was intent on making Tien pay for it.
Tien grunted slightly as his aura remained strong, and then suddenly turned red, "Kaio-ken!" Tien's power output increased dramatically, enough that Blizzare had to guard himself slightly against the increase.
"He's using the same technique that the Namekian used!" Metare pointed out.
Tien's red aura increased as he diverted as much power as possible into his next shot, "Shin, Ki-ko-ho!" The force of the blast sent Metare flying into the barrier this time, with Blizzare right behind him along with a fair amount of debris. Frost saw this and phased out, reappearing in front of partially exhausted Tien. Tien gasped but was unable to do anything before Frost grabbed him by the throat and lifted him up easily.
"Such a pest shouldn't be able to touch my troops. Commendable that you can. As a reward, I will end your life quickly!" Frost declared.
Tien struggled to even breathe, "You…won't…win!"
Frost smirked as he held a glowing finger up to Tien's chest, "Winning, losing, you won't have to worry about that where you're going!"
Goku stirred and realized what was happening, "Tien?! No!"
Frost greatly energized his Death Beam and fired, and the impact split Tien's torso in two, killing him instantly. Goku, enraged, transformed back to Super Saiyan Two, and charged in, landing a punch that turned Frost's head sharply.
Frost spit out a loose tooth and merely looked back at the angry Goku, "Pathetic." Goku didn't even see the next attack before he was doubled over on the ground. Frost then lifted and dropped his enlarged foot right onto Goku's back, forcing him back down to his normal form and to a prone position. Frost forcibly turned and grinded his foot into Goku's back, causing Goku to cry out painfully. This motion continued as Frost laughed, but then abruptly stopped. Frost was still there to be sure, but Goku sensed something else was going on. He managed to turn his head and saw pink smoke flowing out of the top of Buu's metal head.
"What is that?" Frost asked. Goku managed a painful grin but didn't answer. Frost dropped another fierce foot into Goku's body, breaking several ribs on impact. The pink smoke pulsed and flowed before forming into a denser pink cloud over Buu's body. It contorted a few times before solidifying back into Buu's fat form, adding a cape and pants shortly after. Buu landed and stretched slightly as he sighed before looking around. He first saw Frost standing over Goku and frowned deeply. Blizzare and Metare approached from behind, drawing Buu's attention as he looked back at them.
"Fascinating creature, you were able to survive my metallicizing technique," Metare complimented.
"It doesn't matter, brother. You had better beat it, tubby. Or else you'll end up just like your friends!" Blizzare declared with a deep grin despite the fact that his body was bruised by Tien's last attack. Buu scowled as he turned to face the pair, and as he did, his foot brushed something. Buu looked down and his white eyes opened wide when he saw the body of Mister Satan.
"Satan?" Buu asked. He immediately dropped to his knees as the appendage on his head flipped around and glowed blue. He cast his healing magic over Mister Satan, who did not move a muscle in response, nor did his wounds heal at all.
"Satan?!" Buu cried out as he tried to shake his best friend awake. Satan's dead body didn't respond, and smoky waves of steam began to leak out of the holes in Buu's head.
Blizzare laughed, "That pitiful human met his end while you were napping. Lord Frost saw to it personally."
"SATAN!"
Buu's power erupted in a great burst of pink and red light, sending Blizzare and Metare scrambling to get away from the sudden eruption of power. More angry steam poured out of Buu's head and he winced painfully. Goku's eyes widened as he felt a distinctly dark presence emerge and Buu's power dropped. The steam collected in the air and filled with darkness before it condensed and emitted pink waves of light. Arms and legs formed as well as a head with a similar appendage that was on Buu's head. However, this form was much, much smaller than Fat Buu was. When the body fully formed, the steam became a somewhat thin, pink being that barely seemed to be as old as a teenager.
Goku's faced paled at the sight of Kid Buu, "Oh no!"
Frost glanced down, "What is that thing?" He didn't get an answer before Kid Buu screamed at the top of his lungs.
