Parties were never Kristoff's thing but his best friend dragged him to this one, but it was different. Kristoff had his eyes on a redheaded girl with freckles dusted over her cheeks, nose, and shoulders, and beautiful blue-greenish eyes. her red dress flowing around her with every movement. She caught his eyes and smiled, she whispered something in the platinum blond's ear next to her and the blonde nodded, she walked away with a short man. The redhead motion for Kristoff to come to her, he shook his head, she rolled her eyes and motioned once more, Kristoff shook his head again. "Why don't you want to dance with me?" Anna asked approaching Kristoff.
"Simple, I don't dance."
"Realy? well, My name is Anna by the way."
"Kristoff."
"Nice to meet you… Kristoff." Anna grinned and grabbed Kristoff's forearm and pulled him to the middle of the living room. She began to dance while Kristoff shuffled his feet awkwardly. The song changed to a slow, romantic song, "care to dance?" Anna asked offering Kristoff her hand. "I don't know how," he confessed. "Just follow my lead." She grabbed his wrist and placed his hands on her waist, "don't you have a boyfriend?"
"Yes." Anna sighed, "but I think he's cheating on me," she put her hands on Kristoff's shoulders.
"How come?"
"He's not paying much attention to me like he used to. he spends most of his time on his phone, He has a passcode."
Sven came up behind Kristoff, "wow." he teased.
"Shut up."
Anna giggled after Sven walked away. "is he your brother?" Anna asked.
"Yeah, well no. We grew up together and were adoped together."
"How sweet." Anna's smile faded.
"What is it?"
"My parents died in a car crash."
Shit, "I'm sorry," Kristoff stopped moving.
"I have my sister and our best friend. I'm fine," Anna's smile returned.
"oh, who's your sister?"
"The blonde over there," Anna pointed at Elsa, who was talking to a short man with black hair, "and that's our best friend Olaf."
The song changed to some pop song. Kristoff let go of her waist. "Anna we have to go!" Elsa said running to Anna, holding her phone up to her ear.
Anna snatched her hands away from Kristoff's shoulders, "what is it?" Before Anna could ask any more questions she was pulled out of the party. Kristoff watched as she gave him a small wave.
"What happened?" Sven asked.
"I don't know."
A couple of days later, after Kristoff was walking back to his and Sven's apartment. Walking along the sidewalk he looked across the street and saw Elsa, Olaf, and Anna sitting on the curb. They were confronting Anna as she cried.
He jogged toward them, "Anna?"
She jerked her head up at the sound of his voice, "Kristoff? What are you doing here?"
"I saw you crying so I came over here to see what was wrong."
"I don't think now's the time," Olaf said.
"It's okay," Anna said, "can you give us a minute?"
"Of course," Elsa said before leaning closer to Kristoff, "try something and I will personally rip out your eyes and shove them down your throat so you can see my hand rip your esophagus out."
Kristoff stared at her wide-eyed. Olaf followed Elsa into the apartment complex. Kristoff sat down next to Anna, "what's wrong?" he asked.
"I was right, Hans was cheating on me!" a wave of sobs came over her, "our- our cousin Rapunzel was g-going to the apartment to pick up the la-laptop she forgot last time she came over." Anna wiped her nose before continuing, "when she walked into the living room she saw H-Hans making out with another girl!" she sobbed some more.
Kristoff didn't know what to do, "do you want a hug?"
Anna, without hesitation, wrapped her arms around Kristoff's torso.
"Elsa told me he couldn't be trusted. I didn't listen."
Kristoff held Anna. "do you want my number?" he asked, "you know, for emergencies."
"Yeah," Anna broke away. After they exchanged numbers, Anna went back into the apartment.
"Where were you?" Sven asked, spinning his desk chair. "Anna's boyfriend broke up with her."
"Are you going to ask her out?"
"No! She just got out of a relationship. A new boyfriend is the last thing she needs right now."
"Are you okay?" Elsa asked, jumping off the couch. "Yeah, I'm fine. I got his number," Anna said.
"The funny-looking donkey?" Olaf asked.
"His name is Kristoff."
"I don't think that's a good idea, Anna," Elsa said.
"He seems nice."
"So did Hans, now look at you," Elsa took a tissue and wiped one of Anna's tears.
"Get to know him, please?" Anna said.
"Fine," Elsa said even though she didn't completely trust him.
A week later:
"Hey Kristoff," Sven said, walking into Kristoff's room, "Anna and her sister are hosting a party at their apartment."
Kristoff turned around from his desk, "when?"
"Tonight." Sven crossed his arms over his chest and grinned, "you going, aren't you?"
"Yes."
