Chapter 11
The Rangers stared in stunned awe at the sight of the newly chosen member of their team: their school friend Jessica Campbell. Jessica was a Seventeen year old Hispanic girl with a brown hair and eyes; she wore a pair of black trousers and a green shirt with a forest image on it. "So let me get this straight" said Jessica looking around the tower in awe "You guys are the Power Rangers, who were given powers of heroes from another dimension by a Wizard in order to stop an evil fairly from destroying Madison and the fairy just turned the Chaotic Quartet in to evil Power Rangers" she said before turning to face Yen Sid "and you think I could be a Ranger?" she asked in disbelief. "Yes child" said Yen Sid as the mirror showed an image of Jessica breaking up a fight between two boys much older and larger then herself "within you lies the Wisdom of Pocahontas, the princess who sought to prevent war between two kingdoms" he said as the Image changed to be a beautiful Native American woman standing between two opposing armies. "The Amber Morpher containing her essence has chosen you" the wise old Wizard went on "with it you will become the Amber Ranger, master of the Bear Zord and player of the flute of unity" he said as the Mirror showed an Amber armoured Ranger with a bear based helmet. "The flute is the only thing that may free the Chaos Rangers from Maleficent's enchantment and only you can use it" said Yen Sid "I have located the morpher in the Virginia Forest" he said before looking at Jessica "what say you?" he questioned. Jessica took a deep breath before "I'm in" she said. At the Dark Fortress the Chaos Rangers, Gaston and Facilier were seeing something very few have ever lived to see…a happy Maleficent. "You've done well my Rangers" said the Mistress of all evil "very well indeed". "They still didn't destroy the Rangers" said Gaston sourly. "We sent them running" said Connor "And if Leo is stupid enough to show his face again, I'll deal with him then" he said cockily. Gaston gave the Red Chaos Ranger a dark look, his hand inching towards his sword which Maleficent noticed. "I see you there Gaston" she said with an amused smirk "it seems both my general and the leader of my Ranger team both covet the same prize: the destruction of Simba's Chosen". "I've been fighting that Lion cub since the beginning" said Gaston "I deserve the prize". "I say that I deserve it" said Connor getting in the hunters face "between the two of us only I came close to taking him down". "Enough" said Maleficent before the two could come to blows "We shall settle this with a duel; the winner will have earned to the right to destroy the Red Ranger and will be named my second in command" she decreed as the other Chaos Rangers and Facilier stepped to the side as Gaston and Connor faced each other before finally lunging at one another. Meanwhile the Rangers and Jessica arrived at the Virginia forests were the Amber morpher was hidden. "Yen Sid said that the Morpher would be found near a willow tree" said Leo. "I think those grow near water" said Melody as the six teenagers began trekking through the woods. "You seem to be in a good mood!" questioned Jessie noticing Jessica smiling. "I love being out here in nature" said Jessica "people are always in a rush to get to one place or another no one ever takes the moment to enjoy things like this" she says looking up at the night sky above the treetops; which came to resemble a grinning bobcat to her. "Be on guard" said Leo as they walked through the trees "Yen Sid said the Morphers magic might create some guards to keep it safe". At the dark fortress Connor and Gaston were engaged in hand to hand combat. "Give it up little cat" said Gaston as he grabbed his younger adversary and threw his across the room. "Not happening meat head" snapped Connor before raising his morpher "Chaos Power, Ranger Power" he yelled turning into his Ranger form and drew his sword, a move which Gaston soon copied. The two red clad warriors soon locked blades "I've hunted all kinds of animals" Gaston taunted "I'll be more than happy to add a Tiger to my list". "Yeah, yeah" said Connor "I've took down windbags like you before, tonight will be no different" he declared letting out a Tiger's growl as he lunged at Gaston. Back in the woods the six teenagers had been searching for over an hour when they finally found themselves at a Willow tree that grew very close to the river. "This has to be it" said Leo as they stepped towards the tree. Suddenly multiple amber lights appeared before them "One of these must be the morpher" said Melody as they looked around at the various lights. "This one must be it" said Jack reaching for the nearest light…only for it immediately go out at his touch. "Or maybe not" said Jack awkwardly "no harm done" he said with a shrug…when suddenly a crunching noise was heard. The Rangers looked all around them and saw what appeared to be warriors made of tree bark, carrying weapons like clubs, spears, daggers, bows and arrows with faces resembling animals like wolves, bears, eagles and cougars all began slowly stepping out of the wood and surrounding them. "Maybe they're friendly" suggested Jessie hopefully. The tree warriors all raised their weapons and let out a unified battle cry "Raaagghhh" they shrieked as the advanced on the Rangers. "Yeah very friendly" said James as the Rangers morphed and brought out their own weapons "Jessica find the morpher, will handle these guys". As the Rangers fought the tree warriors Jessica looked at each of the lights, they all looked the same…how could she figure which was real. "Listen with your heart" she heard a voice whisper in the back of her mind "you will understand". Closing her eyes she could see nothing…except one thing, a singular amber light shining like a miniature sun right before her, reaching out she took it and lets its light envelope her. The tree warriors all suddenly dispersed into Amber sparks as the Rangers turned to see that emerging from the Amber light was an Amber armoured Ranger with a bear shaped helmet. "Wisdom of Pocahontas, Amber Disney Ranger" cried Jessica. At the dark mountain Gaston had fallen to the ground and could only stare up at the Triumphant Connor who held his blade to Gaston's neck. Connor soon recalled his sword and turned to his team who had all resumed their Ranger forms "let's go guys, we've got hunting to do" he declared before giving Gaston one last look "see you around…number three" he taunted before leaving the throne room with his friends as Gaston's eyes narrowed in Hatred.
