"Iris huh, cute name,"Mereck said, "I'm Mereck."
"Iris, what happened to you, and where did you come from?" Kid demanded, causing Iris to flinch back.
"Calm down Dad, you'll scare her," Mereck said to his father, noticing how Iris reacted.
Turning back to the scared girl Mereck saw Mitsu and Sarah now comforting her.
"It's ok, we wont hurt you," Mitsu assured her,
"We're just interested in learning more about you," Sarah finished Mitsu's statement with a kind smile.
"I'm Mitsu, by the way, Mitsu Onikami, it's a pleasure to meet you Iris."
"And my name is Sarah."
Iris' face went sullen, and the Mirror got all cloudy.. Within the mirror, the recent history of her home world started playing.
Mortis proceeded to narrate the Vision.

-History-
Not long after the fall of the Glorious Empire,
Fay went into the remains of the final sanctuary.
There Fay left something priceless hidden in the branches of a sacred tree.
At the deepest level of the sanctuary.

The glowing orb sat silently, all the while waiting for Fay's return.
Silently shedding its light, forgotten and lost by all.

Once buried there, it started absorbing all of the magical energy of the sacred place.
Once all magic within range was absorbed, there was a great rumble and explosion,
the great tree split down the middle, revealing for the first time in 5 years the treasure that was left by Fay.
This day was marked by the rest of the world, as the day of the second great Cataclysm.

With much caution the child stepped forth.
Looking to the tree that had served as both incubator, and guardian.
The girl reached out with her telepathy.
Searching for something, or someone.

For 2 years, Fay would return to make sure that the child remained undisturbed.
She would check on her once a month, every month.
One day Fay simply vanished, and the visits stopped.
Fay's whereabouts remain unknown.

Until one day, when the cause of the great Cataclysm was revealed to the child.
The Third Overlord, now known as the Infernal God, walked into the ruins she called home.

She was competition, and he would not tolerate any competition.
Little did he realize, as he grabbed the child by the throat and raised her off the ground, she absorbed a bit of his own magical power.
'Have to flee and get away, if I don't He's going to kill me.' the child thought.
Reaching her hand up, she set off a magical flash, almost like a flair right in his eyes.
This caused him to drop the child, and she used this chance to try to escape.

She was grabbed by her shoulder as she tried to flee around the Infernal God.
Once again she was lifted into the air, picked up by her shoulder and leg above the Infernal God's head, and this time thrown face first into what was supposed to be her death.
However, the power she had absorbed from the Infernal God, along with what was left of the magical energy from the tree and surrounding area saved her.
In a blinding flash that shook the area, her eyes, usually amber in color,
flashed with blue fire and as her body connected with the great tree.
A portal into another dimension was ripped open. The sudden drain caused the girl to lose consciousness.
When she awoke, she was in a whole new world, and surrounded by strange beings she knew nothing about.
Wearily she raised her head to look about the room, which looked like an infinitely large space, with strange rocks sticking out of the ground.
(This is actually the Death room in the DWMA.)
-End History/Flashback-

At the parts about Queen Fay, Kid turned to Mortis and asked who she is.

"Queen Fay, Queen of the fairies and elves."
Almost everyone in the room, (Mereck, Sarah, and especially Mitsu) had tears in their eyes as this history was revealed.
"So, that is the Infernal God?" Kid asked, finally being able to put an image with what Mortis had told him earlier.
"Yes" Mortis stated simply.

Kid then looked upon Iris with kind eyes, something rare for a Grim Reaper,
and he saw how Mitsu and the others were now acting towards this girl.
"Very well then, it is decided," he announced, "from now on, you shall be a student here at the DWMA.
If you can prove yourself to be worthy by making your partner into a Death Scythe, I shall hand over the blue minions and their Hive,
until then, Mortis shall be the only blue minion you are to have contact with.
That way he can teach you what you need to know about your home world, and culture."
Mereck then asks the obvious question, "And exactly who is going to be her partner?"
"That will be none other than Miss Onikami here, who shall be on probation for her actions earlier.
She will also need to prove she is not becoming a Kishin," Kid said in a matter of fact tone.
Mitsu's jaw dropped a bit, proving herself not a Kishin she could understand, but being assigned a partner, and a stranger at that, was unheard of.
Now a days, Weapons and Meisters would choose their partners, so she couldn't believe it when Lord Death chose for her.
What if she and Iris weren't compatible?
This was so not how she pictured her day would go.

'Still better than being expelled though,' she reminded herself with a sigh.
