Chapter 15: The New Normal.

Nico's POV.

"Draco, we need to get up." I said, pushing on the blonde's shoulder. He whined, and dug further under the covers of my bed.

"I no wanna." He said sleepily. I sighed, and leaned over him.

"Wakey, wakey." I told him, before I bit his neck, just enough to hurt.

"Ow! Nico!" he whined, pushing my head away. I smirked.

"Get up." I commanded. He glared at me.

"No." he decided. Then, he grabbed my arm, and pulled me over to cuddle with him again. I sighed, and cuddled him anyway.

"We're going to miss breakfast." I stated.

"Don't care. I'm much happier right here." He said, pulling me even closer. I smirked, and licked his ear. "Nico!" he complained, pushing his ear against my chest to get it dry again.

"Yes love?" I asked mockingly.

"Why do you- ah!" he cut off whatever he was saying as I licked his neck.

"Hmm? Were you saying something?" I asked, as I bit down gently on his earlobe.

"Well, I was trying too, but you-" Draco gasped as I started to suck gently on his neck. "I was trying to ask why we had to get up." he managed to get out. I smirked into his neck, and pulled away.

"Because Professor Snape said that I really shouldn't miss breakfast and dinner. Although, you might want to wear a turtleneck." I smirked as he put his hand on his new hickey.

"Nico!" he whined.

"Draco!" I whined back. He pouted.

"Fine. I'll get up." he said, and threw the blankets into my face.

"Good. I can go take a shower." I turned, and opened the curtains to my bed. I'd spelled them so that no one but me could open them, and that no one could hear whatever went on behind them. Crabbe and Goyle were still asleep, but Theo and Blaise were up, and getting dressed.

"Good morning." I said, stretching. They looked over, and then paled. Before I could register anything, Draco grabbed my shoulders and pulled me back.

"Hey!" I complained. He shut the curtain, and sat on my chest.

"You aren't getting away that easily." He announced. I sighed.

"And pray tell, what are you going to do?" I asked, crossing my arms. He smirked, and grabbed my wrists. I relaxed my arms, and raised an eyebrow.

"I have one, so you get one too." He whispered into my ear. What was he talking about? Then, he licked my neck. I shivered. Oh, that's what he was talking about. I closed my eyes as he sucked on my neck. Then, he bit me. I gasped, and went to whack him, but he still had a hold of my wrists.

"That was mean." I whined.

"You did it to me. I'm only returning the favor." He stated, and licked up my jaw. I repressed some very undignified noises, and just laid there. his smirking face came into my view. I rolled my eyes at him.

"Are you going to let go of my wrists, or do I have to help you?" I asked. he leaned in and kissed me.

"Hmm, I think I need help." He said, and went back to kissing me. I smirked.

"Well, then. I'll gladly help you." I smirked, and pushed up with my wings. He went backwards, so that he was on his back with his head towards the end of my bed. I pulled my hands out of his grip. He smirked, and I rolled my eyes.

"I'd love to continue, but we really are going to miss breakfast." I said, giving him one last kiss, and opening the curtains. He whined.

"Fine." He said, got out on the other side. I stood up, and went to the showers. I covered one stall with the shadows, and took a quick shower. Then, I shadow traveled my clothes in, and got dressed. I dropped the barrier, and walked back to the dorm.

"Hey, Nico." Theo said. I turned.

"Yeah?" I asked.

"Are you, um, do you think," he fumbled his words a little, but them got a hold of himself. "I think that you should leave your wings out. Everyone already knows about them and you said yourself that it's not the most fun to leave them all tucked in." he got out. I blinked slowly.

"You know, you're right. the whole population of Hogwarts knows about my wings because of Percy and I's battle." I thought out. "Thanks Theo." I said, and walked over to my bed. I took my wizarding robe off, and cut holes in it for my wings. Then I shrugged it back on just as Draco came out of the shower. He walked over to his bed, and got dressed. I may or may not have looked. I let my wings hang, and waited for my boyfriend to finish fixing his hair.

"Okay, are we ready?" I asked, once all of us were up.

"I am." Draco said, coming over, and standing next to me.

"We are too." Crabbe and Goyle said. Theo and Blaise nodded. We set off for the great hall. We didn't pass anyone in the hall. The doors were open, and almost as soon as I stepped foot in the room, everyone ceased their conversations. They all stared at me, and my wings. I rolled my eyes, and walked over to the Slytherin table. I took my seat, and started getting breakfast.

Bit by bit, the talk in the hall resumed. Then, someone came up to me. it was a 3rd year Hufflepuff. I looked at her.

"Did you need something?" I asked. she looked really nervous, and shifted her feet.

"C-Can I-I t-touch them?" she stuttered out. I smiled.

"Go ahead. Just be gentle." I said, and went back to eating my food. I felt a feather light touch near the tip. Draco was smirking so hard he looked like he was going to burst out laughing any second. I flipped him off like the nice person I am. A 7th year Ravenclaw came up to me as well. I looked at him.

"What do you want?" I asked, taking a sip of my water.

"I was wondering if I could have a feather to study." He said. I sighed.

"Sure." I said, and pulled my right wing to the front. I pulled one of my smaller feathers out from the top, and handed it to him. "Tell me if you find out anything interesting." He thanked me, and walked back to his table. Almost half the Ravenclaws crowded him, and congratulated him. guess they all wanted to study it. eh, I didn't really care. The little Hufflepuff girl had walked away during my small exchange with the Ravenclaw, but she came back another girl in tow. This second girl looked scared half to death.

"This is my friend Marie. She wants to touch your wings too, but she was too scared to ask." The first girl told me. Marie turned bright red, and hid her face in her hands.

"I can understand that. I'm a scary person." I said, with a grin that flashed my sharper than normal canines. "Marie, feel free to touch my wings. I don't mind. As long as you don't pull my feathers out." I told the shy girl. She looked up with such happiness in her eyes that I almost smiled.

"Th- Thanks!" she managed to get out. I turned back to my food, and saw that Draco was snickering under his hand.

"Shut up Blondie." I told him, and went back to my food.

"Nico, so famous he can't even go to breakfast without his fangirls showing up." Draco whispered. I glared at him, before smirking.

"Ah yes! I'm just so fabulous!" I said, with a hair flip. The entire 6th year boys section busted out with laughter. I finished eating, and stood up. I struck a pose, and sighed. "Whatever shall I do? I'm so famous I can't even walk!" I announced theatrically. That only made them laugh harder. I cracked a grin, and stopped posing like an idiot. The two Hufflepuff girls looked so confused.

"Could you back up please?" I asked them. They both scurried back. I unfurled my wings, and jumped into the air. I flew over the heads of everyone in the room, and then I flew out the door. I flew all the way to Transfiguration. I landed, and walked in the classroom. I picked a seat near the back, and let my wings hang over the back of the chair. I sighed, and waited for the rest of the class to get there. one by one, people filed into the room. Everyone had some sort of reaction to my wings.

"Alright. Today, we will be transfiguring in-animate objects into birds." McGonagall announced.

After Transfiguration we had Potions. I folded my wings, ad put them away for this class. I didn't want to accidentally knock anything over by leaving them out. I sighed as Professor Slughorn taught the class. Harry was amazing at this class which was strange because Draco had told me that he was subpar last year. Whatever.

At the end of potions class Slughorn called me over. I walked over, and leaned against the wall.

"What can I help you with professor?" I asked, crossing my arms.

"I was wondering about your wings. Where did you get them from?" he asked. I sighed.

"I was born with them." I told him. it technically wasn't a lie. I was reborn as Nyx's son with wings so…

"I see. may I ask who your parents are?" he questioned. you know what. Might as well tell him.

"My mother is Nyx primordial of the night, and my father is Hades lord of the underworld." I told him flatly. His eyes almost bugged out.

"N-Nyx?" he questioned in disbelief.

"Yeah. she adopted me. my birth mother was an Italian woman who had a witch or wizard a few generations ago in her family tree. She was not magical." I told him. just then the bell rung. "Well, I've got to go, or I'll be late." I told him, falling through the shadows to my next class.

I popped up in DADA right as Snape stalked into the classroom.

"Everyone, take your seats." He stated. I sat next to Draco, and let my wings hang back out.

DADA was uneventful. I got good grades, and left the classroom.

I was walking to Runes, when someone yanked on my left wing. They were in their defense mode, and the person who'd pulled on them had sliced their hand open.

I cussed, and turned around. Ron Weasley had been the perpetrator. Of course. Only he was dumb enough to do that. I grabbed his wrist, and closed my eyes. I anchored his soul to his body just before he pulled his hand out of my grip.

"Don't touch me freak!" he spat. I sighed.

"Should've just let you die." I muttered, and turned back around to continue on my way to Runes.

"What did you say?" he demanded.

"I said I should've just let you die." I stated perfectly clear, not bothering to turn around.

"What do you mean by that?!" he questioned. other people were stopping to stare at our exchange.

"You cut your hand open on my wings, yes? The material my wings are made out of sucks the souls out of those they cut. When I grabbed your arm, I was reattaching your soul to your mortal body. If not for that; you'd be dead right now." I stated turning on my heel to stare at him. he was openly gaping.

"Well, I'm off to Runes." I said, turning back around, and hurrying to get to class on time.

I sat down just as the bell rang.

After runes, Draco came up to me.

"Nico, there are some…rumors spreading about you cutting a student." He whispered.

"Well, I'll have you know that Ron Weasley cut his hand open trying to yank on my wings, and if not for me, he'd be dead right now." I stated perfectly clear.

"Ah, I see. I shall inform the others of this, unfortunate occurrence." He said, kissing my cheek, and strolling off.

He was so godsdamn hot when he did that.

End of chapter Fifteen.
