Chapter IV: Waves, Fire and tailed beasts?

Konoha (Midnight)

A cloaked figure enters the Konoha's aviary. After looking through a chart, the person collects seven birds. The cloaked figure then puts a scroll in each of the bird's scroll carrier. Once all of the birds were away the cloaked figure grins before leaving.

Fire Bender's ship (October 11th)

The ship Naruto, Azula and Ryuzetsu traveling on will reach land of wave in four hours. Currently Azula is teaching Ryuzetsu how to lightning bend. "Let's take a break."

Ryuzetsu nods as she goes to get a drink of water. When Ryuzetsu saw Naruto, she stopped in her tracks and stared at him with a small blush. Azula saw it and grins So Kurama was right, well then this will make my job easier. Azula thought.

Azula walks up to Ryuzetsu. "Like what you see?"

Ryuzetsu jump and her face turns red. "Lady Azula, it's not what you think."

Kurama appeares on Naruto shoulder. "Liar." He chuckled.

"Kurama, what were the emotions you were sensing from Ryuzetsu?"

"Let's just say, you would blush by the emotions I sensed from her."

Ryuzetsu lowers her head "I am sorry."

"Don't apologize. Come, let's take a walk."

Kurama returned to Naruto's mindscape as Azula and Ryuzetsu walks away. They walk down the port side of the ship. "So, when did you fall in love with Naruto?"

"When he saved me from Zhao. I watched him being burned by his own flames to protect me."

"Naruto, is a rare type of man that puts others safety before himself."

"Indeed, he makes you worry by his actions most of the time."

Azula giggles "so true. I been thinking about this for a while. Because of my brother's memories and your fight with Zhao. I got a clear picture of you."

"Oh, what is this picture of me did you see Azula?"

"You're a loyal person, strong and capable woman Ryuzetsu. You may have decided to become our servant, but you did it for the wrong reason."

"So, you figured it out? When I offered you two my flames, my mind was screaming don't do it!"

Azula giggles "It reminds me of when I fall in love with Naruto. The dragon Shaw told me my heart was in love with Naruto. But my mind hasn't accepted it yet."

"What did you do?"

"I took my time with Naruto and got to know him on a personal level. It was then I accepted what my heart told me. Now I am giving you the same advice Ryuzetsu. Take your time and get to know Naruto better."

"Just like that?"

Azula nods "Of course, but I want to warn you in advance. Once Konoha learns of Naruto's heritage, women will be chasing him. If you desire to become Naruto's wife, be prepared to fight for him."

"I see."

"Let's call it quits for today. We will be arriving in wave in a few hours. I need to get packed."

"You want me to help?"

"No, it's alright wait for Naruto to finish his training. Then get to know him."

Ryuzetsu bows to Azula "Thank you Azula, for understanding."

"You're welcome."

Azula walks away while Ryuzetsu stood there Take my time. She thought.

Spirit Realm

As a water attack from Katara and Kuruk comes closer to Naruto he does a forward flip. The water bends around him before Naruto sends it back. Both Katar and Kuruk jump away as the water hits the ground.

After landing on his feet Naruto charged towards Kuruk. They throw more water attacks at Naruto.

After deflecting another attack, Naruto jump into the air. He does a hurricanrana on Kuruk and throws him into a water attack from Katara.

Katara blinked at that "Times up!" Zuko shouted in his spirit form.

Naruto helps Kuruk up to his feet. "Very impressive move there Naruto."

"Thank you, sensei."

Katara returns to her spirit form "You are getting better at water bending." she said as she sits on a rock.

Naruto rings the water out his clothes "True, but it still needs a lot of work. Fire, Earth and wind comes easy for me. Water though is on another level all together."

Kuruk hands Naruto a towel before returning to his spirit form. "All avatars has one element they struggle with at first."

Naruto looks at Katara "If I may ask, what was Aang's element he had problems with?"

"Fire."

She then giggles, as she remembers how quickly Azula beat Aang in their training sessions. The seal on Naruto's wrist begun to glow and vibrate. "Same time tomorrow?" Naruto asked.

All three of them nods. Naruto bows as he is returned to his body. "He's making impressive progress." Zuko said as he approached Katara.

"True. But it will take time for him to master water bending. During the first part of the session the attacks went the wrong way."

"About that, I think I might have the answer to that problem." Zuko said.

Katara and Kuruk raise an eyebrow "That last water attack Naruto did was almost flawless. I think he did that move out of instinct."

Katara puts her chin in her hand and thinks "Hm, you might be onto something there. Tomorrow we will try a new approach."

Land of waves (Noon)

Tazuna is holding a meeting with Akira Terumi leader of the mist rebels. "Tazuna I thank you, for your continued support in our civil war."

"I do what I can. The last thing Wave needs is for the civil war to come here. How does the war go?"

"Not well. The last surprise attack destroys half of my force. If nothing is done soon Yagura will win."

Tazuna's jaw drop as the door opens. Two of Akira's men and his daughter Mei were on guard. Inari enters the house "Grandpa a ship has pulled into the dock."

Tazuna stands up "Really? We don't have any ships coming in today on the schedule."

Tazuna, Akira, his men, Mei and Inari goes to the harbor. The crowd was cheering "Who is it?" Tazuna asked.

"Thank you all, for the warm welcome."

Inari's eyes widen as he recognized the voice. He runs through the crowd and tackles Naruto to the ground. "Big brother!"

Naruto laughs "It's good to see you to Inari. How are your mother and grandpa doing?"

Azula and Ryuzetsu helps Naruto to his feet. "They are doing well."

"It's good to see you Naruto my boy, how have you been?"

Naruto shook Tazuna's hand "Very well. Envoy Hoshi this is Tazuna leader of the land of waves."

The old man in the white garb next to Azula, bows to Tazuna. "Naruto where's your team?" Inari asked.

"Could we go to your house and talk?"

Tazuna nods before leading the Naruto and his party to his house. Azula and Ryuzetsu saw how Mei was staring at Naruto with a hungry grin. She's going to be trouble. They thought.

Tazuna's house

Akira listened to Naruto and Hoshi talk with Tazuna. Something told him it was worth it. "I see so you want a treaty with Wave. What your offer?"

Hoshi hands Tazuna a scroll of the terms of the treaty. He looks at the terms. "Hm, so the Whirlpool Republic wants a trade agreement."

"Hold on, did you say Whirlpool?" Akira asked.

Hoshi nods "I thought the Uzumaki fall during the second war."

"Our nation migrated to Whirlpool shortly after the fall of the Uzumaki clan."

Hoshi hated to lie but the truth would have been more damaging. Besides it was Naruto's idea to tell the lie. "So, your grave robs."

"No, they are not." Naruto stepped in.

Akira glares at Naruto. "Who are you?" He growls.

"Naruto Uzumaki, the last known survivor of the Uzumaki royal family."

Akira's eyes widen "How? My parents told me that the royal family died during the fall."

"Not all of them. My mother Kushina Uzumaki or known as the Crimson princess was sent to Konoha."

Akira heard stories of the Crimson Princess. Her sword skills are legendary in the elemental nations. During the last great ninja war many of Kiri's best swordsmen fallen by her hands.

"I apologize for my comments."

Mei was surprised at her father's actions. "It's alright. Can we get back to the treaty please?"

Following Naruto's lead "If Land of wave agrees to our terms the Whirlpool Republic promises the following. Funding and supplies for a trade outpost. Introductions to other trading partners the Whirlpool Republic has."

"You do business with other countries in the Elemental nations?" Tazuna asked.

"No, not yet. I was referring to the continents that the Elemental Nations has not discovered yet."

"How many continents does the Whirlpool Republic has trade agreements with?"

"Ten."

Tazuna's eyes widen Hm, this might be what Wave needs. He thought.

"Very well. I will discuss this at our meeting tonight."

Hoshi bows "Thank you."

Akira looks at Naruto This treaty gone smoothly with the young man's support. He's also a Konoha shinobi. Maybe he might be Kiri's answer. Akira thought.

"Prince Naruto if I may."

"Please call me Naruto."

Akira nods "Alright Naruto, would Konoha be interested in an alliance?"

Naruto raise an eyebrow "Yes, if the terms were acceptable. Why do you ask."

"Currently the mist is in a civil war."

This is what Zabuza and Haku was talking about, Kurama pays close attention here. I need your nose for this. Naruto thought.

Alright kit. Kurama said.

Naruto pulls out a blank scroll from his bag "So what does the rebels ask of Konoha?"

"We need men and supplies to fight Yagura on equal terms."

Naruto writes down everything "I see, if the rebels win what would Kiri give to Konoha?"

Hoshi walks to the couch This is going be very interesting. Let's see how the Avatar handle these negotiations Hoshi thought as he sips his tea.

"A defense and trade treaty. As well as a few bloodlines to be started in Konoha."

"How many bloodlines?"

"Two."

"Five."

Akira stands up. "Five! That is outrageous!"

"Last time I checked, the rebels were losing. Six."

"Three!"

"Six."

After a few more exchanges Naruto felt he had Akira right where he wants him. "Four is my final offer!" Akira growls.

"Forget it, three bloodlines."

"You damn kid! I will give five bloodlines...huh?"

Mei face palms "Once again my, father walk right into that."

Azula and Ryuzetsu giggles. That was an impressive display Naruto. Ryuzetsu thought.

Hoshi was impressed Avatar Naruto wanted five bloodlines for his village, so he used Akira's anger as his weapon. Very impressive. Hoshi thought.

"Summoning jutsu!"

Gamakichi appeared on the table "Hey what's up?"

"Gamakichi, I need you to deliver this to Lady Tsunade right away. It's important."

"Sure, no problem."

"Wait, that's the Toad summon of Konoha!"

"Oh yeah, I am the student of Jiraiya the Toad Sannin."

Akira, his men and Mei's jaw dropped "Did I not mention that?"

Azula and Ryuzetsu giggles as Gamakichi reverse summon himself.

Konoha (Hot Spring)

Tsunade was enjoying the hot spring after a long day. As she reached for her Sake Gamakichi appears in front of her. "Hey, how is it going?"

Tsunade screams as Shizune runs towards the Hot spring. "What is wrong?!"

Gamakichi hopes out of the hot spring and hides behind Shizune. "Where is that damn frog?!"

"Frog? I beg your pardon; I am the next toad boss."

"There you are."

"Wait! I have an emergency message from Naruto."

Tsunade stops one step from Gamakichi. She sighs "Very well."

Gamakichi hands her the scroll then reverse summons himself. Tsunade reads the message and sighs "Why is it always him? Shizune summon the shinobi council at once. They need to hear this."

"Yes Lady Tsunade."

Konoha council room (An hour later)

Danzo and the elders were the last to join the meeting. "Why was this meeting called Lady Tsunade?" Danzo asks.

"There has been a development. Genin Uzumaki was approached by Akira Terumi leader of the Mist rebellion. On our behalf he was able to make a deal."

Koharu groans "That child is causing us more problems than he is worth."

Tsunade grins "Oh really? Then check out the terms Naruto negotiate for us helping the rebels."

Tsunade hands Koharu Naruto's notes. Her jaw dropped "There's no way. Konoha will get five bloodlines as payment?!"

Most of the shinobi council jaw dropped "Troublesome." Shikaku grins.

Not bad Naruto, He's so much like his father. Inoichi thought.

Danzo hates to admit it, but Naruto done well. "Anbu have Tenzo, Genin Haku, Tayuya, Mikoto Uchiha and Karin Uzumaki brought here at once."

"Hai Lady Tsunade."

"We are in agreement?"

All members nods "Very well. Genin Uzumaki, Azula and Tenzo's team will be sent to Kiri. To aid in the civil war."

"Lady Tsunade, who is this Azula?" Inoichi asked.

"She is one of Naruto's sensei."

"Wasn't Jiraiya teaching the boy?" Koharu asked in a firm tone.

"He still is, but Azula been helping him to master his bloodline."

"He has a bloodline. What is it?" Danzo asked.

"He didn't tell me."

"Why not?"

Tsunade looks at Danzo "He is waiting for the Chunin exams finals to reveal it."

"Smart. That way no one could prepare for it."

Tenzo, Haku, Tayuya, Mikoto and Karin enters the council room. "You summoned us, Lady Tsunade?"

"Yes Tenzo. I have a mission for you. Your team, Naruto and Azula will be aiding Kiri."

Haku, Tayuya, Mikoto and Karin blush a little when they heard Naruto's name being called. Tsunade grins Naruto you dog. She thought.

"You leave for the land of wave at dawn."

"Hai."

After the team left, they wonder who Azula was.

"Who the hell is Azula?!" Tayuya shouted.

"The name sounds exotic so maybe it's a guy?" Karin said as she cleaned her glasses.

"Possibly. We will find out when we get there." Haku said.

All of the girls walk towards their apartment. "Mikoto you been quiet. Is something wrong."

"No, just that I got a bad feeling for some reason."

Tazuna's home

A slug summon appeared before Naruto "Genin Uzumaki, Lady Tsunade has sent a team to aid you. They will arrive in wave in two days' time. Once they arrive you will go to Kiri to aid the rebels."

"Thank you."

The slug reverse summon itself "That was a fast reply." Akira said.

"Yes, it was, if you wait until the team arrives, we can go together."

"Very well."

Naruto stands up "Mind if we stay for a while?" Naruto asked.

Tazuna nods "Of course."

"Thank you."

Once settled in Naruto goes to a quiet place to meditate.

Kumogakure

The Raikage looks over the documents that was sent to him. "I want our spies in Konoha to confirm this."

"Yes Raikage."

The Raikage leaves his office, leaving Naruto Uzumaki's medical and shinobi file on the desk.

If this is confirmed, I have an old debt to pay. The Raikage thought.

Karui approached the Raikage "Father, I have returned from my mission."

"Very good my daughter. You're not hurt, are you?"

"No, I am fine."

Suna

The Suna Daimyo and the council finished looking over the documents sent to them. "Why did the Hokage or the council send us these documents?" a council member asked.

"It's an important secret, they revealed to us."

The Daimyo leans forward "Maybe that's their plan." He said in a serious tone.

"What do you mean?" Baki asked.

"After the invasion, we made it very clear to the Konoha council. We want a better alliance."

"True, the new terms we demanded, would greatly aid Suna in the years to come."

"You're saying that they want a marriage in exchange for the new terms?"

"It's what I would ask, if I was the Hokage." The Daimyo said.

"The question is, who do we pick for Naruto Uzumaki Namikaze's wife to be?"

"They chose the son of their greatest heroes. Anything less would be an insult to them."

"What? You're not suggesting Temari?"

The Daimyo nods "She's our best Kunoichi."

"She's also considered royalty."

"Tell me, is there any other Kunoichi more qualified to marry Naruto?"

"Well no..."

"Then look at it this way, if Naruto is anywhere near his parent's level. How strong would his and Temari's child be?"

The council thought about it for a few minutes before they gave their approval. "It's decided then. Temari will marry Naruto Uzumaki Namikaze."

Iwagakure

The Iwagakure council was livid "How? How did we miss this?!"

"I bet that old monkey kept this a secret."

"Damn that old monkey!"

"The question is what do we do about the son of Minato Namikaze?"

"Simple we kill the boy!"

"No, we are not."

"Why not my lord?"

"Think about it, why would Konoha release this data to us of all people?"

Silence "They must feel the boy was ready to protect himself from us."

"That's a joke. Now way the boy is stronger than Onoki or Han or Roshi."

"Very well, Onoki."

"Yes, my lord?"

"Do you know where the boy is now?"

"Our spies in Konoha, told me he's going to Kiri."

"Send Han and Roshi to deal with the boy."

Most of the council including Onoki his son Kitsuchi and granddaughter Kurotsuchi grins. One council member raised his hand. "My lord Daimyo."

"Yes?"

"What if the boy defeats Han and Roshi?"

The Daimyo looks at Kurotsuchi "Than Onoki's granddaughter will be our last hope."

Kurotsuchi blushes "Huh? Now wait just a minute!" Kurotsuchi protested.

"Those are my orders. I am allowing you to take your vengeance on the Yellow Flash. For the last time. But if they fail this feud dies with Han and Roshi."

Many of the council members started protest. "As the Daimyo, I must focus on how our nation's future not the past. I will not tolerate this feud no longer. I am perfectly clear Tsuchikage?"

The Onoki bows "I understand my lord. I will have Kurotsuchi fill a marriage contact. It will be on your desk within the hour."

"Good, that will be all."

Onoki turns to Kitsuchi "I want Han and Roshi to head to Kiri within the hour."

Kitsuchi nods "At once."

Otogakure

Orochimaru was looking at Sasuke and Sakura inside of a lab tanks. Kabuto enters the lab "Lord Orochimaru."

"Ah Kabuto, I thought I sent you on an important mission?"

"I was about to leave when this arrived."

Kabuto holds up a scroll "You may want to read it."

Orochimaru raised an eyebrow as he reads the scroll. "How interesting."

"Do you want me to bring Naruto here?"

"No need. He's not a priority at the moment."

Kabuto looks at the tanks. "Both of them are in the tank again?"

Orochimaru nods "They have great potential to become stronger that most of the sound four. Sadly, this treatment shortens their life span."

Kabuto pushes up his glasses. "Yes, a shame."

Rebel base (Four miles south of Kiri)

It's been week since they arrived in Kiri.

When they arrived it, all went downhill. Several ambushes have kept Naruto from going on missions. He skills as a healer saved lives. Granted his not on the level Ino is at the moment. But he can take pride in the fact no one died in his care.

Two days ago, Han and Rosh shown up. They destroyed a good portion of Akira's forces.

After several hours Naruto was able to defeat Han and Roshi. But at a cost, Naruto's suffered some wounds, and his right wrist was broken near the end of the fight. Because of this he can't use both hands for the healing. So healing was taking much longer. Kurama focused on healing the other injuries first, because of how bad they were. He only started healing Naruto's wrist a few minutes ago.

Naruto was getting tired; He spends hours healing people with one hand. Azula and Haku with a plate of food approached Naruto. "Oh, I see we both had the same idea."

"If you want Lady Azula, you can feed Naruto."

Azula smiles Well at least she handled her defeat with grace. Unlike the other three. Azula thought.

"Haku, go ahead."

Haku smiles "Really?"

"Consider this a reward." Azula said as she walks away.

Maybe I was wrong about her. Haku thought.

She walks over to Naruto. "Here you go Naruto."

"Oh, thanks Haku."

Haku puts the plate down and started cutting up the food. "How is Tenzo sensei doing?"

Naruto sighs "He will live, but he will need medical treatment. In the morning I will send him to Konoha."

"Really? I thought you could heal everyone with this technique."

"If I had both of my hands maybe. I only learn this technique back in Wave before you arrived. I am not as experience with it as Katara sensei."

Azula stops in her tracks and looks at Naruto What did he just say? she thought.

Tayuya groans "Man I am beat after that long watch."

Not looking in front of her, Tayuya bumps into Azula spilling the plate of food on Azula's chest. Mikoto covered her mouth with her hands while Karin's glass falls slighting. Azula glares at Tayuya, causing the girl to quickly hide behind Mikoto and Karin. "I am so sorry Lady Azula." Tayuya said nervously.

"Pick that up, Tayuya right now!" Azula growled before walking away.

"Yes Lady Azula!"

Mikoto laughed "Man you sure shown her, Tayuya."

Tayuya blush "Shut up!"

I have known Tayuya for a long time. Not once have I seen her be afraid of anyone. Not even Orochimaru. Of course, that beat down Azula gave her might have been a huge part of it. Karin thought.

Tayuya picks up the mess. "Damn stupid Azula! Next time I see her, I will punch her in her face!"

I see now, why Naruto likes her so much. She reminds me of the Uchiha Matriarchs from Madara's era. I don't think I can beat her by normal means. Not even with my Sharingan. Mikoto thought.

Still, that doesn't mean I am going to lose to Azula! Mikoto and Karin thought.

Akira walks into the room "Listen up people! Another wave will be upon us. Yagura will be among the men. It's up to us to stop him here." Akira said.

"How long before they get here father?" Mei asked.

"They will be here at dawn so get some rest."

Naruto finished healing Tenzo "Shadow clone Jutsu!"

Two clones appeared next to Naruto. Naruto points to one of the clones. "Take Tenzo sensei back to Konoha. While you start healing my wrist. I'm going to need it."

Fire Country (Morning)

Before departing Wave Naruto made a shadow clone to go with Hoshi. The Samurai escorts Hoshi and Naruto into the Daimyo's palace. The palace looks amazing. It almost reminds me the council building of Fire Benders. Minus all of destroyed portraits and statues of Zhao. Talk about an ego. Next to him, Sasuke looks normal. Naruto thought.

"Presenting Envoy Hoshi of the Whirlpool Republic. Naruto Uzumaki Genin of Konoha."

Hoshi and the shadow clone walk towards the center of the room. Both of them bows to the Daimyo "Welcome to my palace."

"Thank you, my lord." Hoshi and Naruto said.

Hoshi pulls out a scroll and hands it to one of the Daimyo's aids. After it was check, the scroll was given to the Daimyo. "Before we begin, I have a question."

"Yes, my lord?"

The Daimyo looks at Naruto's shadow clone "How did one of my Genins meet you?"

"It's a long story my lord. Envoy Hoshi could explain it better than me."

"Very well."

"My lord my I be excuse please?"

"Why? Your part of these talks."

"I understand that. But I am a shadow clone and almost out of chakra."

"I see what happen to the real Naruto Uzumaki?"

"He's on a mission in Kiri. Konoha is aiding the rebels in their civil war."

"That's news to me."

"I apologize my lord."

"Very well, you may go."

The clone bows before it turns into a puff of smoke.

Kiri (After the battle with Yagura)

It was a long battle but in the end Naruto and his team stopped Yagura. Akira shook Naruto's hand "Thank you all for your aid."

"Not a problem."

"Tell your Hokage, Kiri will enter the Chunin exams. We will also send an Envoy so they could pick the four bloodlines."

Naruto raised an eyebrow "I thought we settled on five?"

Akira grins "You will find out when the envoy gets to Konoha."

I don't like that grin. Naruto, Azula and the other girls thought.

Naruto summons several clones and the team disappeared in a yellow flash.

Akira grins "Mei."

"Yes father?"

"I believe I found you the perfect man."

Mei blushes.

Konoha

Kurenai was watching Hinata training for hours. Maybe Azula is right? This might give Hinata the motivation she needs. I fear what would happen if she failed the Chunin exams this time. Kurenai thought.

"Hinata that's enough for today let's get some lunch."

After getting her things Kurenai and Hinata goes to Hinata's favorite shop. I swear her cravings for cinnamon rolls is almost as bad as Naruto's ramen addiction. Kurenai thought.

Hinata stops when she saw them. Naruto and the others at the front gate. Kurenai grins "Hey Naruto! Azula!" Kurenai waved.

When Azula saw Hinata she had a small grin, she pulls Naruto into a kiss. Hinata eyes twitch as a dark aura starts to form around her. So that's the hussy that stolen Naruto from me? I am left with no choice then. Hinata thought.

"Kurenai sensei, I forgot I had an important clan meeting today. We will have lunch soon."

Hinata walks away, Kurenai was surprised "That's probably the first time she didn't stutter."

Kurenai looks at Auzla who nods. Hinata Hyuga's test has begun. Now let's see how well she does in the Chunin exams. Azula thought.

Inuzuka Compound

Kiba opens the door "Oh hey Hinata. Does sensei need us for a mission?"

Hinata walks past Kiba and approached Tsume who was drinking her tea. "Good after noon Hinata."

The young Kunoichi bows to Tsume "Please teach me your ways of the pack!"

Hana comes out of kitchen with her jaw open, Kiba could not believe what he just heard. "What?!" Tsume, Hana and Kiba said.

Sorry I didn't include Naruto's battle with Han, Roshi or Yagura. I didn't know if there was a limit on how big a chapter could be. Plus, I was over fifteen pages near the end of the chapter. Any ways I hope you enjoyed chapter IV. Next time Chapter Five: Naruto's plan.
