IT'S BEEN 3 YEARS GUYS, I CAN'T BELIEVE IT. (Yes, I'm still alive...) I deeply, sincerely, genuinely apologize for only having to update just now, and I know a lot of y'all follow this super slow story of mine. I admit I don't have much time anymore to write anything in general but since I was able to return to this, I just got an urge to continue this and idk, it all just came rushing back to me and ta-dahhhh. Here it is, the latest update by yours truly. Huhuhu. Again, I'm so sorry for the intense delay but hey, at least I was able to make this right? *tears* Anyway, I'll do my best to update Eternal Bond as soon as possible (even though I always say this every single time HUUU)! Thanks for your unending support, even now I still receive such wonderful reviews! VERY MUCH APPRECIATED! *bows to the floor*
I don't own SSBB.
Everything about the beach resort was downright amazing. The building they were going to take refuge in had an exterior of mostly large glass windows which gave you the chance to peek into its interior. The walls were noticeably clean and paintings hung at every corner to give a splash of wild color. The overall look of the place was simple yet elegant, and the students of Smash High could not imagine the funds spent for maintaining such a place. So this is where all our tuition goes? wondered Ike, a little annoyed to have not been oriented about the existence of a grand resort under Smash High.
Everybody entered the venue and dumped their belongings on the floor while the others raced upstairs to call dibs on the rooms they wanted.
Marth looked around him in awe. He was stunned – like, rooted-in-place-frozen-in-shock stunned. This was really something else. Why didn't Smash High ever tell them about this place?
"It's pretty new, was built over the summer. Nice, isn't it?" Zelda spoke as if in reply to his thoughts. Marth nodded slowly, trying to bask in the grandeur of his surroundings. "Everything about this place is lovely. I cannot imagine Smash High would ever…" He let his fingers trace the white walls and his eyes browse the abstract paintings. He could stay here forever.
"You know what the best part is?" asked Link as he nudged Ike in the ribs. The bigger male scratched the back of his head without a care for the architectural design of the resort. "What is?" Link's mouth curved into a mischievous grin when he tugged on Ike's arm and dragged him up the manor's steps.
"Whoa, what the—how do you even know where we're going?!" Ike exclaimed as Link continued to lead the way, going through long hallways and steep staircases. They bumped into a few students, earning groans and curses in return when finally, they arrived at the top that seemed to be hidden from the entire view of the manor.
Ike's mouth hung agape. "No fucking way."
Link laughed. "Yes fucking way! Unbelievable, huh?"
They were overlooking the horizon and into the sea. It was exhilarating – the scenery, the nature, the breeze, everything. Ike didn't care about things like these, but the feeling of being up here and just taking in the environment was more than enough.
Ike remembered his friend. "By the way… how do you even know about this place? I thought this was the first time you've been here? Unless… you've been keeping secrets, my friend." Upon stating this, he cracked his knuckles in a casual manner.
Link rolled his eyes, not the least threatened. "Come on bro, I thought you knew me better. I'm an adventurer, for chrissake. I have a compass built within me. I was born to navigate."
"Holy hell though, it is the best part. I think I'm going to stay here all day," said Ike, about to go into the sleeping position when someone crept up behind them.
"Not so fast, you lazy bastard!"
Captain Falcon's fist was raised in the air and swung at Ike who was on the floor. Ike had good reflexes, that was a real good thing – so he was able to dodge in time. Any more delay and he would've probably been in the hospital for months.
"WHOA WHOA WHOA hey, hold up cap'n! I was just kidding." Ike forced a laugh, still a little terrified of what could have become of him. Captain Falcon folded his arms across his chest and nodded his head once.
"Alright, let's meet up at the lobby, shall we? Proceed downstairs now before I throw another punch at you, and who knows, this time you won't be able to miss it." Ike watched Captain Falcon disappear in a flash while Link gulped nervously. "I wouldn't want to see my friend on a hospital bed… so we better get going, yo," he uttered while he and Ike hurried their way down to the meeting area before anything unfortunate could happen to them.
"STUDENTS OF SMASH HIGH!"
Captain Falcon's voice boomed, echoing around the corridors of the huge resort they were currently in. All eyes and ears were on him as he spoke with charisma. "So I've heard that some of you have called 'dibs' on the rooms you wanted… in the first place, who gave you the right to go about this resort as if it was your own?!" At that, Link's right eye twitched, expressing guilt for having explored the place too soon. "Anyway, this is your first warning. We have house rules, thus we must abide by them. Let me state them one by one so you little kids will understand why we have such…"
Marth got a lock of his blue hair and twirled it nonchalantly with his index finger. Basic, he thought while he listened to each and every rule that was to be implemented. All their phys ed teacher was saying was common sense, and also, he doubted anyone in the school would even follow a single one from the list.
"…and if anyone tries to break even a single rule, then expect to be in the hospital bed for months by yours truly. You have my word." Upon saying that, Captain Falcon showed off his muscles and grinned, as if to captivate the people's hearts in the lobby. No one was captivated by that, obviously. What is up with the word 'hospital' today?! Ike and Link shared the same thoughts. Marth sighed. It was kind of great to hear that, since most likely, majority of the students will be too afraid to do anything that will put them in trouble. People here treasure their lives more than anything.
"So I return with the rooms. Yes, as expected, there will be room assignments for all." A small commotion erupted from the crowd. Captain Falcon ignored them and continued. "Two students in one room. Okay, I know this resort is BIIIG, but we can only accommodate a number, of course. Keep your expectations to yourself. Anyway, let me announce them to all of you. I will not repeat myself, so listen closely…"
The students' faces gradually transformed from gloom to delight, since they seemed to like their room assignments. Well okay, there's something good about cap'n, but… Link thought while he stared at R.O.B., his supposed roommate. Was he really going to share a room with this contraption? R.O.B. noticed his stare and returned it, his eyes unblinking. It creeped Link out a little despite his robotic appearance and averted his gaze. I really hope I'm mistaken with this robo-dude…
"Pit?" Marth called the angel's attention whose head was covered with his pearly white hands. I'm… roommates with Ike? He couldn't believe it. Pit was overwhelmed with joy that he was too embarrassed to show Marth. He peeked at Ike from between his fingers and saw him with his hands behind his head, looking apathetic as usual.
Marth slowly understood Pit's situation and sighed. Of course. He looked over at Meta Knight who was to be his roommate and smiled. He should be an interesting individual, given his keen observation skills and 'talk-less' personality. Although Marth didn't understand why Captain Falcon could have just kept the dorm assignments, he was contented.
"These assignments were made for the purpose of creating new friendships with other students of Smash High, but of course I don't really believe in that bullshit. I just wanted something different. Speaking of different…" Captain Falcon narrowed his eyes at the list in his hands. "Ike? Marth?"
The two rivals perked up at the sound of their names while Captain Falcon gave them a mischievous smile, one that suggested malicious intentions. Marth didn't like it one bit, and neither did Ike. "You will be roommates instead. Hence, Pit and Meta Knight will be roommates."
Ike was the first to react. "YO CAP'N, YOU CAN'T BE SERIOUS! HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO DEAL WITH THIS BLUNETTE?!" Marth's hand curled into a fist and shook with anger he was holding back. He still managed to keep calm despite the turn of events. "You must be joking, coach…" murmured Marth, his tone of voice drenched in despair and madness. Another scene for the Smash High students to enjoy, yet again.
Captain Falcon was enjoying it more, though. "I have no time for jokes, Marth. And yes, I am serious, Ike. Do you both have objections?" The way he said it was so full of authority that they had no choice but to agree to the unfair, spontaneous decision. Marth looked down while Ike turned away from Captain Falcon's gaze, pissed and helpless. Even the students of Smash High were in silence, sympathizing for the two.
Captain Falcon faced everyone in complete seriousness. "This trip may be a vacation from all the schoolwork you are all entrapped in, but let me remind you to take this seriously. It is still considered training under the observance of Smash High, and I am here to train all of you to be better warriors, fighters, magicians, adventurers, however you call yourselves."
The end of his mouth curved into a smirk. "I expect all of you to cooperate. Looking forward to your growth, young'uns. You are all dismissed!"
Honestly, I like how it's going so far, so I might give it a little more push! I know it's super slow but please do bear with me huhu. Expect that this will be a long ass story! *tears and bows all the way to the ground*
