Hii, so I happened to come across this website and checked up on Eternal Bond since I really missed it a lot. Then suddenly, I remembered that I had unfinished drafts of it waiting to be posted and so I decided to finalize the latest chapter and TADA! I have updated this one hell of a story and I'm always so glad to come back and go through your reviews because it uplifts me and motivates me to keep going with this LOL. I'm sorry for letting you all down by being lazy with this fic but I assure you that my heart has never forgotten about this :) Ike/Marth FOREVER!

After 2 years worth of waiting, this is for all you EB fans and Ike/Marth supporters alike who continue to indulge in this beautiful ship. Let's not forget about them even as we age... LMAO cause this story of mine goes way back in HS but here I am already working as an adult. LEZGOOOO

I do not own Super Smash Bros. and its characters.

If the resort was huge, the same went for the gym. It was as grand as the resort – possibly even newer and bigger in terms of space. The structure literally looked sturdy enough to hold all kinds of competitions and it was guaranteed to be new and made from the highest, quality materials and advanced technology.

This should've been in school instead, thought Ike to himself as he sighed heavily at the beautiful interior of the gym. It was definitely breathtaking, no doubt. All the students of Smash High were awestruck that it left each and every one of them speechless. Link, being the "born navigator" he claimed he was, didn't realize that such a place was located behind the resort.

"I'm… lost," the elf uttered in defeat and dropped to his knees, slamming the ground in frustration. At that, the gym floor responded with some sort of wave reaction that drew Link away and back on his feet in seconds. "What the—"

"No fear, Link dear! This gym is built to withstand even the greatest of battles, so the structure reacts to any sort of violent or strong physical movements it receives in order to withstand competitions that take place within the premises. Basically, it is impossible to inflict damage to it," Captain Falcon stated matter-of-factly while he made a rainbow motion with his hands to emphasize the gym's wonderful design.

Marth nodded his head, fascinated. "I see. That is brilliant. So does it also apply that anything that tries to penetrate the structure from the outside is bound to fail?" Snake who, out of nowhere, dropped down from his helipad and tumbled swiftly to the ground without a sound, chose to answer his question.

"Indeed." Snake brushed off a few of the dirt that had clung to his jumpsuit and faced the students. "In short, Smash Resort's gym is indestructible."

One would think that everyone in the place would gasp in shock or whatnot, but the students exchanged different reactions that ranged from excited applause to silent murmurs that exhibited a sense of disapproval. To the twin royalties, this was nothing. They stood there, indifferent, as if they have already grasped and processed the information. They probably knew about this beforehand as well, Marth thought as he stared at Zelda and Sheik.

On the other hand, Meta Knight was actually reacting. Ike observed the blue ball waving his hands, but he wasn't sure if it was in joy or in anger, so he let him be. The seraph's eyes widened upon Snake's last statement, and he remained unmoving until Ike shook him back to his senses. "Hey kid, you still there?" Pit found himself gazing into Ike's purple orbs, and because of that, he wriggled away from Ike's hold and ran to where Marth was, hiding his tomato face from his crush.

Ike didn't understand why Pit was acting that way either, but he didn't like how he approached Marth without even saying anything. Tch, it can't be that he trusts that blue-haired asshole already? Honestly, Ike hated it when his friends would choose Marth over him. It really pissed him off big time, but what could he do?

Marth let Pit hide behind him while he studied the gym carefully. It was hard to take in what Snake had mentioned, even more the design that surrounded them. So this place is imperishable… amazing. Who could be behind all this? Right when he was about to ask their two professors, a man on a motorcycle zoomed in from the entrance of the gym and circled everyone before positioning himself next to Snake and Captain Falcon.

He was a short man who had an odd-looking moustache on his face, almost similar to Luigi's. His belly was as round as a pregnant woman's, but it wasn't a child he was bearing, of course. He had a bright, yellow cap atop his head and teeny-tiny goggles that covered his eyes. As if to introduce himself, he slid his goggles up and flashed a toothy grin that was the widest of them all.

"It's about time you guys showed up, eh!" His breath reeked of beer as he spoke. He glanced at Snake and Captain Falcon while the two avoided his stare. It was difficult to maintain eye contact with Wario, considering that he looked kind of like a creep. Snake was too ashamed to introduce such a person to the students of Smash High with that kind of demeanor, so Captain Falcon initiated to do the honors instead.

"Uh… alright, everyone. The person before you who just interrupted and put on a biker show for y'all here is Wario. It may not look like it, but… he is the mastermind of Smash High's infrastructures. And yes, that includes this exclusive gym."

Okay, that was when everyone shared the same reaction – mouths hung agape and eyes wide open at the drunkard grinning in front of them. "That's right! I, Wario, the most genius of them all, designed this place, the resort, and the school you are studying in!" He turned around to shake his butt only playfully, but that was a bad, bad idea which had triggered something unavoidable.

Snake was the first to move. He threw his helipad in the air and flew, followed by Captain Falcon who ran in god-like speed away from Wario. Meanwhile, the students had no idea what was about to happen, but luckily, Dr. Mario entered the picture and saved them from death's hands.

A magic cape swatted the deadly fumes back to Wario, and the force that hit him was so strong it caused him to soar through the gym.

"WAAAAAAHHHH!" Wario wailed as he hit the walls of the gym face first. His body slowly slid down upon impact from his own gas. Everyone was dumbfounded at the turn of events and looked to see who had momentarily paralyzed Wario.

"Dr. Mario?"

Smash High's one and only doctor let out a sigh of relief and hid his magic cape somewhere in his medical coat. "Sorry about that everyone, but at least you are all safe." All the students were absolutely clueless. They all shared the same question which rain through their minds: Safe from what?

Peach, Dr. Mario's beloved nurse, rushed to his side and pinched her nose as if in disgust. "My oh my, did he do it again?" She caught a glimpse of the students and back to Dr. Mario. "You were just in time, weren't you? Thank goodness!" She hugged Dr. Mario out of joy and that made him blush a little. "Th-thanks Peach, the students are here." She understood and let go of him immediately, a bit red as well.

Just when Ike was about to ask what the hell was happening, Captain Falcon started explaining. "Sorry about that, folks! As you can see here, Dr. Mario just saved your precious lives from Wario's ultimate attack… the gas from his ass. Yes, apparently, that is one of the "weapons" he has under his sleeve, so it can paralyze you for quite a while, so it's a good thing that our doc here left you all unharmed." Captain Falcon nodded at Dr. Mario in gratitude and he returned it. Dr. Mario turned to Peach.

"Luigi was right… Wario had plans to visit the resort when the students came here," he whispered to her. He turned to the students of Smash High who were still drowning in a pool of confusion. "Anyway, please be wary when you are around Wario, alright? He has a tendency to release gas out of the blue since it is uncontrollable at times, and it momentarily stuns those around him, which can be pretty dangerous to the one who has inhaled his fumes. Avoid him at all costs, got that?"

Peach smiled ever so sweetly. "Listen to your doctor, okay! He's right, stay away from danger and keep yourselves safe and healthy, always! Don't hesitate to approach us or pass by the clinic when you are feeling unwell. We'll treat you in no time!" She giggled, and a few male students let out some whistles at the cutesy attitude she was portraying.

They acknowledged the professors before dragging Wario who was still in a paralyzed state out of the gym together with his motorbike. Captain Falcon and Snake regained their composure, displaying authority before the student body.

"Back to what we were saying." Snake continued.

"Today, we will be having our first outside training. Let me take this time to inform all of you how it will exactly go.

"This training is composed of two parts, but we will focus on the first. Now, the first half requires cooperation among members and excellent team synchronization. That being said, Captain Falcon has already distributed all of you into your respective groups and have considered your strengths and weaknesses beforehand in order to balance each member out."

Snake gave the floor to Captain Falcon who had the list of the team assignments.

"LISTEN UP!

"First group, Marth, Meta Knight, Ness, and Samus.

Second group, Ike, Pika…" Captain Falcon paused for awhile to see if what he had read aloud was correct, and wrinkled his eyebrows in confusion. "Pikachu. Sheik, and Wolf." He cleared his throat and resumed.

"Third group, Falco, Link, Red, and Zelda.

"Fourth group, Fox, Lucas, Pit, and R.O.B…"

The list went on until Captain Falcon had finally reached its end. He once again cleared his throat.

"Proceed to your teams now."

Everyone quickly grouped themselves accordingly before silence filled the gym, the students awaiting for the next instructions from their coach. Captain Falcon nodded his head.

"Alright. The first half consists of group battles, meaning that every team in this gym will have to fight against an opposing team. Therefore, you need to be able to create a systematic way to defeat the opponents you are battling against. With that, you have fifteen minutes to share your knowledge and skills among your teammates. Don't let this time go to waste, because it may be crucial for all of you during the battle. Now, proceed!"

Since Marth was quite the judgmental person, he was quick to come up with any sort of assumptions about people, and knowing that he had to be teammates with the three – Samus, Meta Knight, and Ness – he had to formulate certain judgments for each and every individual. Not that he was assuming or subjective in a way, but he just wanted to be sure with his impressions. Confirmation, something like that.

He first looked at the blue ball. He hasn't seen him fight, but he knew that he had fought against Ike during one of their training sessions back in the school's gym. If only he was able to watch their battle, he could have gained a few ideas on Meta Knight's combat approach. His eyes fell on Samus next.

That woman who had accompanied Ike during his performance back in Music Club. He rolled his eyes. Okay, he could probably deduce that this woman is a show-off just like Ike, and would take on any opportunity to showcase what she's got. Skill-wise, he wasn't so sure how she really fared.

Moving on – Ness. Marth had seen this kid fight, and he was no joke. He recalled that one competition of Ness between another Smash High student (an obviously irrelevant person, since he couldn't remember the name), and he was dumbfounded with what he could do. Ness had certain otherworldly powers, and he could summon magic with his hand movements and had a few mind tricks to pull off on his own.

That was all Marth could conclude about his teammates. And now, he wondered what they were thinking of about him…

He only realized now how all of them were looking at him in a weird way. Samus was all smiles, Meta Knight didn't show any emotion (as usual, but he was staring) and Ness was getting all giddy, jumping up and down every once in a while. Marth didn't understand what the hell was up and suddenly felt bothered that they could fail him at any time come the group battles. He did a facepalm in dismay, but the prince had no idea that they were all damn thankful that one of Smash High's best students were on their team. The same went for Ike and R.O.B.'s teams, somehow.

Everyone started discussing their strengths and weaknesses amongst one another. "I can zip really fast, but when I do so, it takes me time to prepare myself before the attack. I guess that could be my weakness? It gives a chance for my opponent to defend, but the catch is, they wouldn't know what direction I'll actually head to. You get what I mean?" Fox explained to his fellow comrades, and Pit and Lucas found themselves nodding to every word he was saying. R.O.B., on the other hand, remained stoic.

"Okay, let me get things straight… I don't actually engage in battle," Red spoke with the same confidence in his tone of voice, which led students to misinterpret him in the wrong way. "But, I do have three Pokemons with me who are willing to fight and represent me in combat." He got a Pokeball and threw it in good distance, resulting it to open in a flash. Out came a dragon of some sort, and it was so huge that it got Link thinking how in the world it was able to fit in that small ball Red just threw. The dragon roared while Red walked next to it and patted it in an affectionate way. "This is Charizard, by the way. He's one of the Pokemons I train. I'll introduce to you the others later." Zelda and Falco just listened patiently while Link, still confused, stared at Charizard in awe.

"How about you, what can you do, Sheik?" Ike asked the ninja while he remained silent, as ever. Instead of speaking, Sheik executed a few abilities, preferring to stay silent. During the demonstration, he was moving too fast that it was hard for Ike and the rest to keep up with his movements. Afterwards, all of them were simply fazed.

A voice interrupted their small gatherings, signaling for them to start their very first outside training.

"Students of Smash High. Take up your arms, and let the training commence!"

As expected, the teams which Marth and Ike belonged to had won against those they had a face off with, including R.O.B.'s and Link's. After congratulating one another out of good sportsmanship, Captain Falcon proceeded to the next program for the day.

"Good job, everyone! You displayed wit and grit during your battles earlier, and I would like to commend each and every one of you, winners and losers. For children, I must say, y'all are pretty good," he chuckled while Snake nodded, actually agreeing with what the coach had said.

Are you kidding me… Ike thought, beads of sweat trickling down his forehead in annoyance.

"For the teams that have lost, you fought a good fight. With that, find your seats at the benches above and learn from one of the best… if they can prove to be one. Now…" Captain Falcon's gaze shifted to the teams that had won with a very, very, suspicious smirk on his face.

Now that's alarming… Ike thought to himself again as he braced himself for the worst that was yet to come. Marth was confused as he tried to comprehend what their coach had just said. "Learn from one of the best… if they can prove to be one"? What does he mean by that? As an overthinker, he tried to unravel its meaning until Snake cut his train of thought.

"Winning teams. It seems that you have found a way to defeat the opposing parties with the importance of teamwork. Now then, show us the very best of your abilities…" Snake's eyes suddenly disappeared, and he looked like some guy about to throw a rampage in an anime show. "…by battling one another!"

Let me cut part 1 here and follow up with part 2 soon! Please bear with me, as much as I know how delayed I can get in updating this, I put a lot of effort into writing every chapter to make sure it's not half-baked. Anyway, if there are any new readers, I would appreciate the faves and reviews a lot!

See you soon lovelies! I'll do my best!
