Have you ever heard of the darkest shade of black called VantaBlack? Most people haven't, but I recall reading an article about a company producing a type of black that absorbs roughly 99.96% of all light, making it officially the darkest shade of black, otherwise known as VantaBlack. If you're wondering why I've brought it up, it's because that's what I first thought when I opened my eyes again for the 2nd time today.

Originally, After opening my eyes I was met with nothing but darkness, I had even thought for a moment that I had my eyes still closed, but after frantically moving my hands around, I noticed I could catch incredibly tiny detail of my arms form, something that realistically wouldn't be that easy with your eyes closed, so I safely deducted that I was surrounded by complete darkness, or VantaBlack.

I had many questions running through my mind, but my first one was "Why?" I mean, why am I in this predicament… I've played enough games to understand something was going to happen to me, as cliche as that sounded. I figured I should just relax and wait, because any moment I'd probably be placed into an unknown world, as all game logic goes. So I did exactly that, I took a moment, pulled my body close, and sat there listening for any sounds I could make out of this void of a place. Unsurprisingly, I heard no noise. It reminded me faintly of those soundless rooms some people were capable of making in universities and what not, Not much I could do about it at the moment though, so I figured my best bet was to stay entirely still.

It hasn't been that long and yet I'm very bored; I figured I should probably not bother to talk because who knows what could happen. Worst case scenario: I could die, second to worse case scenario: I wouldn't be able to talk regardless, so it was best to play it safe. About a minute passes before I suddenly feel light bouncing around (Feel? Surprisingly hard to describe things when you're in what seems to be a mini black hole), escaping from something out of the darkness. I look up and there it is, a portal. I took a glance at it and had to do a double-take, it sure looked gorgeous.

Vibrant colors snaked around the quietly humming portal, but due to no sound being performed at all before it got there, it was actually relatively loud. After getting up and walking over to it, I noticed closer in detail the multitude of colors seemed to dance around the portal, as though they were inviting me in. Now look, I'm not usually dumb, but I figured there was no way out besides this portal, so I took a deep breath and walked in. No sooner did I walk in then did I find myself falling fast. Somehow, no surprise there, but I was used to these situations from my game experiences. I just had to keep my cool and hope I didn't land someplace too low down.

After a few seconds I noticed that my surroundings had changed in color, for a while there was just a lot of darkness, sorta like the void, until suddenly a spiral of dark green and baby blue intoxicated my eyes, I looked fully down and saw myself falling into a forest, heading to some tree's. I braced myself for the impact and then it happened, I landed front first into the tree where the initial impact hurt a lot, but it gave me enough adrenaline to cling onto a tree branch, probably saving me from getting injured any further; but it was at the cost of cutting my hands open a quite a lot, I already felt blood seeping out and onto the branch. While hanging from the branch I looked down and figured I could take the landing well, also noticing a bush directly below me. I dropped myself off the branch, preparing myself to land once more by moving into a cannonball position mid-air.

I landed with a rough thud and a shock ran through my body, but other then that I was pretty good. I lied down for a moment, taking in all the events that just happened, that sure was crazy.I was about to get up when I heard some ruffling in the grass nearby, I instinctively dive back into the bush, covering myself. After a while of patiently waiting and admittedly getting a bit nervous from the suspense, a short Pokemon walked out into the opening of the grass, WAIT, a POKEMON?

For a second I thought I was in a dream, there's no way it was a Pokemon I saw.. But after a second glance it definitely was. If I recall correctly it was a bidoof, a normal type beaver-ish Pokemon, and here it was picking what looked to be berries out of the bushes nearby. I was about to go back into the bush to think when I saw a flower looking Pokemon float around with a bunch of other similar Pokemon, that was the fairy type floette, And over there I noticed a grass/normal type deerling grazing the grass.

Looking around I saw tons of different types of Pokemon just relaxing in the forest like Fletchling, bellsprout, caterpie, wurmple, etc. There's no way, Am I in the Pokemon world? Just as I was gawking at the Pokemon, I felt something rub against my left leg, I looked over and saw a Weedle sniffing around, trying to identify the strange creature that fell onto it's bush, it sniffed for a while before shrugging, or whatever a weedle shrugging looks like, before crawling out of the bush to find other food. Hmm, if the weedle wasn't too upset over me then that must mean it's used to people and there's probably Pokemon trainers, or more importantly… people in this world. Finally I decided to get up and move to the clearing, unfazed by the ironic gawking of the other Pokemon around me.

As I sat down, I felt a sting on my hands as I pressed them against the grass while attempting to sit. I almost forgot, I hurt myself in the fall, I guess I better take care of that first before I go anywhere. And with that, my first day in the Pokemon world started, although not exactly on the highest note, it was still an interesting experience and I was already thinking of things I could do in this world, maybe it might not be so bad here?
