Studying sure is boring. I mean, I always knew that, even back home, but man, it really takes a toll. Luckily for me, Amber just so happened to have a Latin translation book, and I figured out what Te aeternum meant, apparently it meant "Everlasting" or something close to that. I suppose it was a testament to the infinite possibilities of the world they live in, which I personally think is super cool.
I finally took a break and sat up from the couch in the living room, stretching my arms out before walking to Amber's room; Before I could fully get there though Leonidas jumped on top of me from a sneak attack after roaming the apartment. I piggybacked him all the way to her room and Knocked 3 times. I heard the sound of something falling and suddenly a ton of noise was emitting from the room.
Suddenly, Amber said "Come in". I walked in casually, Leonidas on my back and turned to her. I never really took notice of her until now, but she really had a good style. I finally took a closer inspection of her and clearly identified her Orange/reddish hair, the look of a flame's ember if you will. She wore a skirt that was about a darker shade of black, luckily not vantablack. I also noticed she was wearing a cute frilly light orange blouse, with white trimmings. She wore boots similar to that of the character Dawn from the main game series, except instead of them being pure pink she wore light orange boots with black accents snaked around it.
Not only that, but she definitely looked the part of a girl. I don't know her exact age, but I would have to guess she's 16 like me. Generally speaking, she had the ''above average build" of a teenage girl. By that definition, I particularly mean that she looks pretty athletic, as though she spends most of her time working out and being active ;I suppose living here can only allow for so much time to do things like working out.
She looked like she was napping, but other than her frizzled hair she looked like she wasn't sleeping at all. I moved on and tried to ignore the fact that she slept with shoes in bed like a criminal. I cleared my throat and stammered a bit, before finally getting the statement through; "H.. hey, so I think I've finally decided what I want to do now that I have a partner and feel a bit more rested. I've always wanted to go on a Pokemon adventure and the only thing that was holding me back was a lack of a partner. But now I think I can handle the world myself and such."
She looked at me for a minute, pursing her lips. She was in deep thought about it, before finally exhaling and simply stating "That's fine, you looked like the type of person to go out into the world anyway. But.. Can I go with you? Being chained down here to this tiny town is… to say the least… Boring. This would finally be a good chance for me to show the world what I can do, and maybe enjoy the adventure along the way."
I figured if anything, she was the one who was going to be surprised in this conversation, but I was the one who ended up taken aback;not in anger mind you, I just didn't see that coming. "Well, if it's all well with you Amber, I'd love to have you with me, but aren't you more concerned over leaving your apartment behind all by yourself, or travelling with someone you barely know?" She giggled for a while, before noticing that I was feeling a bit down about it, taking her laugh the wrong way, she hastily added "No no no, I didn't mean my giggle as an insult, it was just such a serious question I didn't think of myself really. But I suppose if you must know" She sat up from the bed.
"My lease on the apartment is about to end soon. Not only that, but out of everyone here, you seem to be the most kind and genuine person I know, and I've lived here for a very long time. If I was going to trust anyone, it would probably be you, as crazy as that sounds." Wow.. that was such a nice thing to say, I couldn't help but grin and say, "Well, let's get going then!". Eventually, both of us packed up our things, ready to take on the world, I didn't have much to bring but Amber let me take some of her items like books, medical supplies, some Pokemon items like healing items, berries, and some pokeballs, etc;meanwhile, Amber went to the Pokemon center to stock up on necessities and say her goodbyes to her one friend in this village, Nurse Joy.
According to Amber, Joy was pretty sad to see her go, but was excited for her and happy that she finally had a reason to escape this place. One we were all suited up, we both took our big travelling bags and walked to the border of the city, opposite of where I came from. From where we were standing, I could see a long winding brown/yellowish dirt path.
I guess this is where we start off, huh? I looked at Amber and she gave me a warm smile, and then I looked at Leonidas, who was now on the ground opposite of Amber. During our time packing up, I taught him a few things from "My town" That I knew that could be fun to try out. Suddenly, both me and Leonidas put one foot forward, half facing the path, and half facing the side of the village as I yelled "Let's hit the road!". I've always wanted to do that, and it was pretty poetic too. Amber looked at me puzzled and asked "What… was that?" I blushed a moment before replying, "Just something I've always wanted to try out".
She looked at me quizzically for a moment, before turning back to the road and simply saying "With what's going on already, this should be fun". I chuckled, personally agreeing; Although I've barely just met Amber and Leonidas, and things felt somewhat rushed, I really felt like I belonged. We all started towards the direction of the sun, inviting us to follow the path; I truly can't believe this was happening. We all took a step forward, beginning the true adventure.
