I DO NOT OWN THE SELECTION SERIES. SHOUTOUT TO NIKT WANZY FOR SUBMITTING THIS CHARACTER.

Atlantic City. Province of Waverly. Announcement Day.

It had been another triumph for Lucrezia Bellincioni. She had just returned to her flat from rehearsal at her newest play and she had proven that the director's choice to give her the lead role had been the right choice indeed.

"Sono tornato!" (I have returned) Lucrezia exclaimed as she burst through the front door to her flat that she shared with a friend of hers, Esther Lincoln, who was also an actor. Unlike Lucrezia, she was not currently in a theatrical production and was between jobs.

"I can see that," Esther replied as she was making a fresh pot of coffee in the kitchen.

"I breathed life into every scene I was in," Lucrezia insisted as Esther poured her a cup of coffee.

"Of course you did Crese, any show that has the brilliant Lucrezia Bellincioni on it automatically becomes ten times better," Esther said with traces of sarcasm in her voice. She knew that it was hard for Lucrezia not to brag, because she was that talented, but just because she could back up all of her boasts didn't make it any less tiresome. Lucrezia detected the sarcasm , but decided to let it slide for now. After all, a compliment was still a compliment.

"The director ended practice early so that everyone could watch the announcement of the selected," Lucrezia said with glee as she sat on the couch where Esther joined her.

"Crese, you are my friend and I care about you...but you must be prepared for the possibility that you might not be chosen to participate in the selection," Miss Lincoln said as she tried to calm her friend down a bit.

"That is nonsense, I am beautiful, I am extremely talented and I am rich. Why would they not choose me?" Lucrezia asked, brushing off her flat mate's concerns as if they were of no consequence. Eventually, the Illéan national anthem began to play and Princess Melody came on the TV screen. Lucrezia was captivated by the sight of the blonde beauty.

"From the first time I saw her...I knew that one day, our paths would cross," she insisted as Esther rolled her eyes. To Lucrezia, someone like Princess Melody Schreave was more than just a pretty figure. To snatch her would be the ultimate prize. It would catapult Lucrezia to the upper crust of Illéan society. If she could win the princess's hand, it would not only give her money, but power as well.

"Good afternoon, my fellow Illèans." Princess Melody announced with a smile. "After receiving one hundred of the best applicants and careful consideration, I am pleased to announce the 35 persons that have been selected." Lucrezia prayed to God in née native Italian tongue as the princess read through the names.

"Going through something alphabetically is horrid when you're near the end." Esther muttered as she too watched the screen.

"From the province of Waverly...Miss Lucrezia Bellincioni!" Melody announced as the actress shrieked with joy. Esther was surprised at first, but then realized that she really should not have been. Things seemed to have a habit of working out for Lucrezia.

New York City. Province of Waverly.

After the announcement, Lucrezia got in her car and drove over to New York to see her parents. When she arrived at their home, she was greeted by her mother.

"Ciao Madre!" Lucrezia exclaimed as she gave her mother a hug.

"I am glad to see you, Lulu. I saw you on the television, I am pleased for you." Agnese replied as she embraced her daughter. Lucrezia's smile faded a tad, but she soon got it back to where it had been. Her mother had never been one for communication, but Lucrezia had come to get used to it. As she made her way inside, she found her father waiting for her with a look of joy on his face.

"My Lulu!" He exclaimed as Lucrezia raced over and wrapped him in a hug.

"I'm so happy to see you Padre," she said with glee.

"Come, the ice cream shop is still open and I want to hear about your plans for la selezione." He insisted as Lucrezia was more than happy to tell her father about the Selection.

Scoops Ahoy Ice Cream Parlor.

It was a long standing tradition that whenever she came for a visit, Marzio Bellincioni would always take his daughter out for ice cream. "I can hardly believe this, my own daughter, courting the Princess!" Marzio exclaimed as he and Lucrezia both got vanilla cones and sat down on a nearby bench to eat.

"Believe it Padre, ever since I came to this country, I knew there was something special about Melody. She would be a perfect wife for me, I want her like mad!" Lucrezia confessed as she licked her ice cream. Marzio could not help but be a bit entertained by how much of a crush his little girl had on the crown Princess of Illèa.

"I am confident that she shall be yours, my love. All Princess Melody has to is meet you and she will have no choice but to love you," Mr. Bellincioni replied as he made short work of his cone.

"I know Padre...soon enough, Melody will be my wife and we shall rule a beautiful world together," Lucrezia said as she could see a long and happy life with Melody so clearly in her mind.
