Servants of Remnant

Chaldea is gone, but the memories remain. A world, filled with fairy tales, monsters and men. A history unlike any other. Sometimes… a hero is needed. From another world, from another time. Not all of them are great, not all of them are 'good'. But when the world needs a hero, these Servants answer the call. Perhaps only one, perhaps many do. These are the tales of many timelines. The 'Servants of Chaldea' who come to Remnant.

Sieg

Slash, another demonic wolf was cut down as Sieg pulled his sword away and sighed, sheathing the blade before turning back towards the corpses behind him. Since he'd woken up, no less than three different groups of monsters had tried to claim his head. Thankfully, as weak as he was, the sword Astolfo gave him still served well enough.

Still… he had to wonder, where was he? The explosion had… apparently sent him to the middle of some forest full of Demonic Beasts. He wasn't on the reverse side of the world so… huh. He really didn't have any idea where he was at the moment.

Lost in thought for a moment, he almost missed the next monster leaping out of the brush at him, but he quickly turned his head, hand already going for his sword. Blue flames surronded his arm as he swept the blade out of its sheath once more, and in a single slash, Imitation Balmung cleaved the wolf in two, before the flames died down and his sword returned to its normal shape.

"...Why do they just keep coming?" he wondered, before looking out into the forest. There was quite a lot of noise actually, it sounded like gunfire… were people fighting these monsters?

Sheathing his sword again, he started running, pouring prana into his legs to try and reinforce them, driving him forward. He nearly ran into another demonic boar along the way, but as he was running, he grit his teeth, slashing his sword out and gripping it with both hands.

"HIYAAAA!" he leapt forward, and boar turning towards him and trying to curl up into a ball to roll at him like others have. Midleap, he let the flames envelope him, the form of Siegfried taking over… and slashing downwards at the creature's hardened hide.

The slash went clean through it, and a second later, his body returned to normal and he started running again, sword gripped between both hands, panting as he ran. As a servant, all he was good for was his mana and his Noble Phantasm, but he was still going to try and find whoever was fighting these monsters!

At least, that's what he had assumed, because the scene he came upon was much different than he expected. He stared, in shock, at what he saw in the distance.

Humans, fighting each other… or rather, humans firing upon those who weren't fighting back. The masks were strange, and they had the features of animals from what he could see… but all of them were hiding behind a pair of trucks, being fired upon by a bunch of humans with swords and guns.

One of the men behind the trucks, an older man with black hair, started to stand up, clearly trying to make some sort of peace. But whatever his words were… the humans weren't listening, taking a bullet for his troubles, and a purple aura appearing over his skin and he fell back behind the truck.

Anger… it was still not a familiar feeling, but seeing this… horrid scene? He didn't know why this was happening… maybe the people behind the trucks deserved it… but they were victims here, from what he could see. So he had to do something…

He ran forward, sword still in hand just as two of the animal people were looking between each other, a masked man and a woman who looked kinda like a tiger. "What's happening!?" he shouted.

Almost instantly a lot of people turned towards him as he ran out of the woods, panting, even with his sword in hand, guns were turned towards him, and he nearly flinched back in fear… but he looked between all of them… and then at the gun pointed at him from one of the humans.

"Get outta here kid!" One of the men shouted, before the people continued firing on the truck, the masked people behind it still avoiding firing back as the large man ducked, looking towards Sieg with concern in his eyes.

"Why are you fighting!?" Sieg shouted back, holding his sword with one hand and holding his other over his heart, just in case someone tried to shoot him there… his grip was tight, her teeth were bared, but he couldn't act without-

A bullet hit him in the shoulder, and Sieg gruntted before moving his hand from his heart to his shoulder, the blood already starting to come out… he hadn't expected that to actually!

"Kid get down!" the man behind the truck shouted to him, and Sieg finally listened… for a moment. He got behind a tree, even as another bullet struck it, riccocheting away somewhere off into the woods. Pulling his hand away from his shoulder, he looked at the blood, before gritting his teeth. He knew what he had to do.

What surprised him was that he wasn't the only one to spring into action, the same moment he jumped out from behind the tree, a red haired man in black with horns in his hair lept over one of the trucks, landing crouched in the dirt before running towards a man carrying a machete. Sieg changed his target upon seeing this, dodging a bullet before leaping at the woman nearby carrying a rifle, who tried to fire on the horned man as he knocked the machete weilder's weapon away and the man himself into the dirt. Sieg parried a bullet himself with his sword, before running up and kicking the woman into a tree, knocking her out as the horned man parried another bullet himself with his red katana. A man with twin revolvers ran up, firing wildly at both targets as the horned man went for another woman, knocking her into the air, Sieg sliding under them both and raising his sword to block one bullet, then another, before catching a third in his side.

He grunted in pain as the woman hit the dirt behind him, but then the horned man lept onto a tree, and bounced to another before kicking the man with two revolvers in the head, knocking him out as Sieg grit his teeth, and horned man looking at him for a moment with concern before a bullet nearly hit him. The next he parried before rushing forward towards yet another woman with a pistol, parrying bullets as he went. Sieg circled around, despite the bullets in his, he knew there was still someone missing, and as the horned man was closing in on the very last shooter, Sieg saw the final man, hiding behind a tree. Rushing forward the man turned towards him with shock, before raising his gun, firing and only getting his bullet parried for his troubles as the horned man knocked out the other man, just as Sieg jumped up, and kicked the man in green in the face, sending him flying backwards and into the dirt with a groan of pain.

The gun clattered to the ground as the horned man stepped on the other guy, leaving him laying in the dirt and clutching at the man's foot and groaning in pain as Sieg sighed in relief, slowly sheathing his sword as the people behind the trucks looked at him… he probably looked like a bit of a mess all things-

Bang.

The pain was quick as Sieg instantly clutched the hole in his torso, just inches away from his heart. He fell to his knees in pain as the horned man ran up, Sieg holding his hand up as the man drew his sword, the man in green on the ground having his gun knocked away as the large man jumped over the truck, running towards him. "Kid!"

"D-don't!" he shouted back, the man stopping as Sieg grit his teeth… before slamming his fist into the ground, blue lightning sparking around him for a moment as he tried to keep his prana under control. The wounds hurt, but he would live… probably. Man-Made Hero should keep him going for just a little while at least.

"What do you have to say for yourself!?" The tiger eared woman was currently throttling the man in green, her anger apparent as the red haired man came up as well, offering his hand.

"Can you stand?" Sieg reached up, grasping his hand and allowing himself to be pulled up, even as blood poured down his shoulder and his torso from the few holes in him. He stood up straight for a moment, before almost collapsing forward, but the large man caught him, holding him close.

"Doctor!" he shouted, as everything started to go dark again… was he this weak? He hoped he'd made the right choice at least… He didn't hear what was going on around him as the cold embrace of unconsciousness claimed him.

Sieg groaned… slowly blinking his eyes open from the jostling behind him. It wasn't very much, but it was enough to be uncomfortable, slowly he tried to lift his head, only for a voice he'd heard only once before to speak up. "Stay down for a bit kid… what were you even thinking?"

He didn't turn his head, but he knew it was the man in black. "...That you all needed help," he responded, already taking stock of the situation. He wasn't dead, not yet at least. His core wasn't damaged at least, so he'd heal eventually.

"I wouldn't expect a human to walk in on a shootout between Faunus and other Humans and take our side," the man said, as if it was a matter of fact statement. Sieg just closed his eyes, and gave a very pained chuckle… god it made his chest hurt.

"That wasn't a shootout… they were attacking you… you needed help," he responded, a smile gracing his face as he did.

"Is he awake?" Oh, that was the black haired man. Sieg tried to sit up, but the red haired man came into view and held his gloved hand to Sieg chest, holding him down as the van stopped jostling. Slowly, the man in black helped Sieg into a sitting position, allowing him to see the people he'd helped defend. The man in purple with black hair, the tiger woman and the man in black who was kneeling beside him at least. "Oh thank heavens…" the man sighed in relief as he climbed into the back of truck, sitting down on his knees in front of Sieg as the woman joined him, the man in black just deciding to sit on beside him.

"Are all of you alright?" he asked, eyes looking the man up and down. He… saw him get shot earlier, yet there wasn't any wounds.

"I should be the one asking you that young man. What were you thinking getting into a fight without your Aura?" he man asked, raising his voice in concern for his health as Sieg just closed his eyes.

"...Sorry… I'm Sieg, and… I don't know what that is…" he admitted, opening his eyes slowly… and two out of three of them looked like he'd grown a second head, and he couldn't tell what the man in black was thinking behind his mask.

"...You were never taught about Aura?" the man in black asked, gritting his teeth as Sieg just nodded. He'd heard of an aura before, but he was fairly sure their definition of 'Aura' was different from his.

"...And you still know how to fight like that?" the woman asked, crossing her arms as Sieg sighed.

"I mean… a lot of my life is fighting, its… what's expected of me," he admitted. It was the duty of a Servant to fight, and even before he'd been a Servant, as himself he'd had to fight some of the greatest heroes he'd ever met, and some not so great… and Amakusa.

"...Kid, what are you?" the man in black asked, lowering his head to look at Sieg's left hand… ah, he was looking at the Dead Count Seals. His link to… well, himself.

"I'm not human, if that's what you're assuming…" he admitted, lifting his hand up and staring at the seals once more. "I'm… nothing special, just a walking weapon,"

"No you aren't Sieg," the black haired man raised his voice, Sieg looking up towards him and seeing the stern look on his face. "No one is a weapon, and it doesn't matter what you are. You helped us, put yourself in very real danger for us. I'm thankful for that… and sorry that you got hurt like that,"

"Why were they attacking you all?" he questioned, laying his hand on the blanket he was laying under. This time the woman spoke up.

"Because we're Faunus trying to get through their town. That's why," she scoffed, before raising an eyebrow. "Do you even know what Faunus are?"

"Not… exactly no. I've… spent a lot of my life…" Oh how did he put this without sounding very, very weird. "Uh… guarding something,"

"Guarding?" the man in black asked, and Sieg just chuckled a little bit, before coughing.

"Yeah… I was… kinda… well…" oh this was already getting very weird.

"I'm going to ask you a very important question Sieg… if you don't mind answering it?" the black haired man asked, his face looked so sad. Sieg just nodded, and the man closed his eyes. "Have.. you spent your whole life, doing nothing but either fighting or… guarding this thing, told what to do just because you were different? Looked down upon for not being Human?"

...That hit, really, really close to home actually. "I… suppose so, I mean, there's no object left to guard… it's… why I was out here," he admitted.

"Searching for a fight?" the man in black asked this time, and Sieg just shook his head no.

"I'm searching for the people who relieved me of my duty… my friends, who helped me grow," he was searching for his Master, he was searching for all those who'd been with him when the explosion happened. He had to find them at, somehow.

"Were they humans?" the woman asked, and Sieg just had to chuckle at that one.

"A few of them were. Some were… Faunus?" he actually gazed towards the man in black, at the horns in his hair. They were a darker shade of red than Asterios' were.

"You really don't know anything, do you?" the man asked, crossing his arms over his chest, and Sieg merely sighed, before nodding. No real beating around the bush here. He had… no idea where he was, or what this place was like at all.

"No sir," Sieg responded, closing his eyes as the man just groaned, probably in irritation.

"Adam," Sieg had to bite on his lip at the man's name, remembering the golem that Caster of Black had created during the Great Holy Grail War.

"I'm Sienna, and the boss here is Ghira," the tiger lady added, pointing her thumb at the big man who merely sighed as Sieg opened his eyes, smiling as best he could.

"It's… nice to meet all of you," he responded, nodding his head, a sort of bow he supposed.

"So… what are you going to do kid?" Adam asked, and Sieg just looked at his mask, trying to find the intent behind it, and failing… leaving Sieg to look away.

"...Learn and search I suppose," he muttered, and then he felt a hand on his back, he turned back towards Adam, who had a small smile on his face, and pat Sieg on the back before standing up.

"Get some rest, you need it," he walked past Ghira before jumping out of the back of the truck, leaving Sienna to huff.

"And here he was, staying by your side until the moment you woke up. Nice work Siggy," Sienna said before climbing out of the back of the truck herself, leaving Ghira and Sieg alone in the truck.

"...Sieg, its my fault you got injured like that…" Ghira started, but Sieg just shook his head.

"No, it's mine. I was the one who ran in without thinking. It's not the first time this has happened," he started, but then Ghira raised his head.

"But it's not right, a young man like yourself shouldn't be running around getting hurt like that… I wanted to end that peacefully… and yet my actions nearly led to your death," Ghira claimed, lowering his head… as a thought came back to Sieg.

"What happened to the humans?" he asked, and Ghira raised his head with a soft smile.

"A few bruises and some broken bones, but nothing that won't be fixed in time… you had it the worst of everyone Sieg," Sieg sighed in relief at that. No one died, despite all the shooting. That was something of a minor miracle.

"Where will you go from here, besides learning and searching Sieg?" Ghira asked, and Sieg opened his eyes again, raising his hand… and thinking. What did he want this time? He had his big goal, but in the meantime… he had no direction, just… a purpose and a want to do good he supposed.

"I want to help people, so… in order to do that, I have to travel… with no real direction, could I stay with all of you?" he asked, and concern filled Ghira's face.

"Are you sure about that Sieg? That conflict we had its… more common than you may think. Almost everywhere we go, Faunus like you and me are oppressed. You look human enough that they'd probably never notice the difference without you telling them but…" Ghira closed his eyes, lowering his head.

An oppressed people, the weak and downtrodden… he had so many questions, but… Ghira seemed so sincere, and as Sieg raised his head… closing his eyes, and thought back to Chaldea, to the reverse side of the world… Jeanne, what would she do? The answer… he thought, was simple.

"I, Sieg, shall pledge myself to protecting you, to help Faunus escape such a fate, such oppression," his mind flashed to Spartacus, the big Berserker standing before their Master, with a true, genuine smile on his face, and a request on his lips… before he'd given it all for his ideals.

Ghira raised his head, a surprised look on his face as Adam and Sienna poked their heads back into the truck, surprise evident on both their faces, even as Sieg continued to smile. He didn't know what else he could do… but he could try to do good here.

And so began the brand new tale of the Evil Dragon, seeking to aid the weak and downtrodden, all in search of his friends, and finding a new purpose all his own.

AN: Bet this one was a surprise wasn't it? Also, for those who are asking for EMIYA and Ruby, understand that I am trying not to be cliche here. as much as I love both characters, its a story that's already been done before. But I do read your reviews and appreciate the support. If anyone has any ideas for other timelines, feel free to leave a review, you might just see it appear in the future.

AN 2: Also, I will briefly confirm that all stories before this point take place in the same 'timeline' and the next three two do so as well. After that, more 'timelines' will start appearing, and I'll keep expanding upon these stories in the future. Take care everyone!
